I think Ele needs build options that don’t involve cantrips and high water/arcane that don’t melt under pressure like warm butter.
Yup, so a buff to auras and an elite signet dedicated to them could do the trick since auras would not need the water trait line to function well.
Imo Eles already rely enough on boons for survival and don’t need to be any more vulnerable to boon removal than they already are. Also warriors already have an elite signet that gives boons so let’s get a bit more creative.
I believe that auras in general can become the main ele defense mechanic if they are buffed a little and made more accessible across the different weapons.
What if we buff some of the existing auras a little bit (like magnetic aura doing SOMETHING against melee) and make an elite signet of auras instead?
For example:
Signet of Auras
Passive: Every time you activate an aura a condition is cleansed and you gain +15% duration on all of your current boons.
Active: Gain shield of the elements for 6 seconds which acts as Fire Shield, Frost Shield, Shocking Aura and Magnetic aura. Shield of the elements would of course look different to the other auras so that it is easily noticeable for the enemy player.
Note that numbers are not final and that this is just an example of what could be done.

I do agree on this topic, but:
-Warrior need to trait for it, and so:
if you take a look at other classes they can trait also to gain boons or something while swapping attunement or swapping kits on engi.. Its maby not the total same thing. But it gets close..
The problem is that ele does not gain cd reduction from the trait that gives the boons while warriors would gain both from 1 trait if this goes live. Engie also gets no cd reduction but that is a moot point because kits have no cd.
this will be working as intended, because, fast hands trait is working as intended.
activating 2 different on swap sigils on each swap is an intended game play mechanic for warriors with fast hands trait.
nothing overpowered.
move along, nothing more to see here.
Then don’t you think it’s unfair for only warriors to be able to do this?
do you think it is fair that
mesmers have illusions
thieves can stealth
necromancers have death shroudetc.
warriors have fast hands.
this is working as intended.
get over it.
You keep stating the same gimmicks for other professions whenever people talk about warriors just quit it.
You can’t argue that warriors are balanced while using the same class mechanics of other classes all the time in your arguments.
Random poster 1: “Warrior landpeed is broken”
Deimos: “Thief have stealth, mesm have illusions etc.”
Random poster 2: “warrior have insane health regen in a passive skill while having the highest health and armor”
Deimos : “Thief can survive with stealth and mesm can use illusions etc.”
Random poster 3: “Warriors will be able to proc 4 sigils every 10 sec”
Deimos: “It’s fine because Theif have stealth, mesm have illusions etc”
Rather than hoping for the best, you should brace yourself for the worst.
(I thought ppl had learned that by now)Like Ciaphas Cain used to say: Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
TBH there’s nothing wrong with the ele, not with his surviveability, nor with his damage. By just continously boosting classes the game is only getting easier and easier. 90% of the dungeonruns are atm just stack on the boss and nuke him down. Because of this tactic all ranged are tbh already not relevant anymore.
Ele’s don’t need a fix, we just need to make sure that dungeons aren’t stack&kill anymore.
Oh and for evry1 who thinks ele’s are underpowered, they’re master in aoe dmge, quite high single target dmge or if you want to go tanky, you get the best party support and healing ingame. How the kitten can that be underpowered (atleast in dungeons+wvw, not really active in spvp so can’t say much about that)p.s. (i know that ele’s deal less dmge then wars in dungeons atm and they’re alot squishyer, but the real prob. is just the current dungeon meta, we shouldn’t be allowed to deadbrainfarm the dungeons )
This is the structured PvP forum, so all the threads here concern PvP. The performance of the ele in WvW and PvE is irrelevant to this discussion so I don’t know what point you are trying to make.
General:
*Several utilites like glyphs and conjures remain useless just due to their concept. Conjures don’t fit the design of the elementalist at all. Pls think about redesigning them completly.
Oh please take a look at this, it just feels so strange to have utilities and an elite that replace your weapon skills when you already have to manage 20 skills across attunements.
Conjures at their current state will only ever fit if Elementalists have a very good incentive to stay in only one or two attunements but that takes away from the class’ design so it would be a very welcome change if conjures were redesigned instead.

Getting a precursor as a drop is essentially winning the lottery in this game. It’s so rare that it’s hard to use that as an indicator of anything except extreme good luck. But I definitely understand how that added insult to injury after opening that many gifts. And that sucks. I’ve been there. :-/
Which gifts in particular have you been opening? The giant ones? I managed to get 3 recipes after opening about 400 of the giant gifts (2 Grenth and 1 Dwayna). I should also point out that at the moment, the Shadow of Grenth recipe is tradeable and can be bought on the TP. Whether this is intentional or not, I have no idea.*
If you want both of them this could potentially save you a bit of a headache. If you want Light of Dwayna, which is account bound, then you’re out of luck and will have to keep playing the RNG game, unfortunately.
* Note that this is simply the way the item behaves. There is NO exploit involved here and in no way am I endorsing cheating of any kind. It’s unclear if this is a bug or if it’s intended behavior.
Yep, I wound up purchasing the Grenth recipe for about 40s. Dwayna is now tradeable. No more RNG tears.
Well, I can’t see the light of dwayna recipe on the TP so I don’t know.
The new heal/blast needs to get the ranged targeting and Arcane Wave needs to revert. This also fixes the underwater Arcane Wave problem.
Arcane Wave has been on my bar, in the same spot and on the same mouse hotkey since launch. It did not need any changes. The new heal seems great and if it was targetable, be a great way for staff to help heal with a less fumbly blast finisher than earth 2.
Hotfix please.
I agree with this. I used to arcane wave mid-dodge since it was instant so the fact that you had to be close wasn’t a huge problem. Arcane brilliance needs to be ranged instead because you can’t dodge and pop it instantly, furthermore you need to be in the middle of a bunch of enemies to heal, usually when I am at critical health I want to heal AWAY from enemies not near them so ranged arcane brilliance would be better than ranged arcane wave.
Don’t get me wrong I love the new arcane wave but I can see that ranged would fit arcane brilliance more because it is a heal and has a cast time.
I’d rather have the warrior’s new heal. A second endure pain that freaking heals you for more, the more people you have beating on you! Wtf were they thinking giving the already super OP warrior something like that?
Well to be fair one of the primary reasons warriors are so good is their healing signet so this new heal isn’t exactly a buff for them.
nah it’d be good in every trait line
electric discharge (air 15) would be especially awesome. what with the boosted stats. especially if you also have fresh air
Oh yeah, I forgot about the damage on switch traits but I still think that it shouldn’t be so reliant on traits to be a decent skill.
no change, but allow the elementalist to continue to swap attunements and get the accompanying bonuses
this would be enough of a buff for me
That’s only really a bonus if you spec into arcane, I think that this skill should just be better without specific traits because right now it’s lacking.
I would like to see the cooldown at 20 seconds or less. As it is now, I don’t see it having much value as an actual heal skill without staff outside of PvE. It was quite disappointing seeing some of the other heals that were shown.
If it should stay at 25 seconds, its base heal should be higher. Comparing it to glyph, the main differences would then be that one applies a boon and the other applies a blast finisher. Then with a higher base, the target scaling would also go down.
Don’t forget all of our heals can be improved through traits. You sacrifice a lot to get those arcane traits that benefit only your utilities. I don’t think it will be as powerful as it may seem. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how this turns out. Knowing Anet, any changes to this skill would occur after a minimum of 6 months.
There are some benefits to the arcane traits that are not immediately obvious, for example making your arcane skills apply burn synergies with fire 25 which will be +10% dmg to burning targets after the patch. There may be more but I don’t have the time to look for everything atm, I will probably look more into it when we get the patch and have some solid data.
Of course I don’t play tpvp so I don’t really know if this skill has any sort of potential there.
When I take a look at the mesmer heal I would expect the ele heal to be special too. As it is now it’s just inferior to all other heals we have (maybe except the nerfed signet-heal) and nobody will use it – because, like said, the damage is too low to pick it for the bonus-damage, and the heal is lower than other heals so why should I pick a skill that heals less? The blast-finisher is only good with staff – but that alone doesn’t make staff more viable in PvP.
I for one think that arcane brilliance has insane potential, but I usually use a staff and put 30 points into arcane.
Let’s see… Extra blast finisher, shortest heal cast time, potential to slightly outheal other heals if played correctly and a small amount of extra damage. This is all without considering all the possible traits that can help this skill get better.
Between this new skill and the buff to arcane wave I am actually considering to drop elemental attunement to get an extra trait to boost my arcane skills and fill all of my utilities and my heal with arcane skills.
Sure, this heal may not increase our defensive capabilities or give us a huge edge but it’s not supposed to be overwhelmingly superior to everything else. Issues like defensive capabilities need to be fixed for the entire class not just the players who choose the new heal.
Oh and BTW, the only heal that we have atm that I would call good would be glyph of harmony. Ether renewal takes too long to cast which makes it prone to interruption and gimps your damage. With the new burning fire trait ether renewal may become even less useful to some builds but that remains to be seen since we don’t know the specifics for how it procs yet.
I’m not doing any grinding for ascended. The skins are mediocre, and if I did any grinding at all I would rather just save my gold for something better, like a legendary.
Yup, I too will focus my efforts on a legendary weapon for now and other legendary equipment when it comes out. There is no way that I will go through the trouble of crafting ascended when balancing changes could mess up my build and force me to get new equipment. With legendary I can just switch the stats whenever I want to test new builds.
Where are the buffs to other classes OP is talking about? I don’t see any.
Sincerely,
An Elementalist.
But… But, they buffed fire spec slightly in order to make it barely viable :P
The problem with staff is that air is almost completely useless (besides static field and windborne speed, which is usually just used for swiftness between points). If they fixed air to actually do some kind of DAMAGE (especially single target) then staff would be complete.
Unfortunately, for most weapon-sets, we have 20 skills, but only 1/2 are worth using.
Dagger MH: used often b/c every skill is good in places
Scepter MH: Water 2 is useless
Staff: Air 1-3 not worth using ever, earth 2 only useful as a blast finisher or zoning
Dagger OH: often used b/c all skills are good (although churning earth is rarely useful in pvp)
Focus OH: Fire is 100% useless. The fire field is nice for huge might stacking, but that only works in pve. In pve, fire might as well not exist. The most used combo is d/d b/c it is the only one that has all useful skills. S/D is next b/c it only has 1 useless skill. Staff is next b/c it can be used in situations where you are a field/aoe bot. X/F is used least b/c you have to give up good skills for worthless ones (40s CD on fire shield? REALLY?!?!)
Yup, you are correct on your points. Personally I have not used focus in a while because it generally feels pretty lacking when compared to an off-hand dagger. My favorite weapon is definitely the staff but air is pretty worthless and I only ever switch to it if I need to remove cc with windborne speed or if I am just roaming around and want a speed boost. I think I should disable the air auto-attack because it bounces to non-aggressive mobs and draws them to me way too easily.
(edited by Ganathar.4956)
- Switching healing skills of my mesmer all the time. Normal Heal, Mantra, Reflection.
- New Elites? PHA! They should fix the current one’s first! Look at the engineer for example: 1 Elite and 2 completly useless.
They should fix the existing elites but they should add new ones very soon because classes currently have only 3 elites each. Also, most of the classes can only use 1 elite underwater, which means that there is no choice for most players in what elite to use in underwater combat.
First people go up in arms about that skin and now they are unhappy when something is done about it.
Human players were upset that their cultural armor got devalued, and now you want to keep the skin that you fought to get taken off of sale. I don’t see WvW guys up in arms about the medium skin (or the fact that badges of honor are handed out to anyone through achievements), in truth you got what you wanted now live with it.
Regarding OP’s situation, why would you overwrite the original skin to begin with. The sensible course of action would have been to either get a new armor set (exotics are cheap) or use transmutation splitters to save the original cultural skin. You should have been farsighted enough that this might cause an issue with the community… I am not saying you should have been able to know what ANet was going to do about it, but you should have known that there is a chance for some action to be taken.
I am fine with the upgrade idea presented by Ganthar I would very much like to see more cultural armor options. But as someone who plays non-humans I call foul, why should humans get something extra first… because of an issue they themselves created? For ANet, do it by all means allow variants of cultural armor but not before you have something for everyone.
Humans should not get it first, it should be delayed until all the sets are designed.
Why should humans only retain the right to keep the skin when in fact they are the ones who complained about it’s existence in the first place? Hypocrite much.
They shouldn’t, unless Anet make enhanced t3 skins for all races that are more difficult to obtain than normal t3 and are still race exclusive.
The uproar is about nonhumans being able to keep the flame skin. There are many of us with human characters that applied the new flame skin to our existing human T3 armor. With the new change not only will we be losing out on the skin we purchased with gems, but we will also lose the T3 armor skin that we purchased with gold.
The solution is simple, allow human characters that have already applied the new flame skin to keep that skin.
Please consider this.
Thanks in advance.
Just make it an upgrade of the t3 via the mystic forge and add more upgrades so other races are not left out.
@MisterEction —-> i doubt that will happen cause to take an example the other 2 sets look horrible.
It will be a miracle if it does, but as of now, from all that has come out, my options are sticking with whatever skin they come up with or getting back 800 gems and being stuck with a 40 gold lost, having wasted one day off getting things together and having had another day off ruined by having something taken from me against my will, which is an incredibly awful feeling.
So, I’m going to push for them to do that skin right so that in the end I have a character I’m as happy with my character as I was before and I’ve had a day off ruined by having been put in a position to expect something was going to be taken from me against my will, which is an incredibly awful feeling.
Ok, make sure that the skin comes out awesome!! In my opinion making a new and unique skin would be the way to go, maybe something from GW1. If the new armor looks good I may even consider buying it.
People complained that flamekiss armor is too similar to T3.
And most of them complained because its a racial armor.Wouldn t it be a better solution to make a new T3 for humans and offering the new skin to old T3 owners?
The best scenario would be offering free of charge a skinset to T3 owners….and putting the T3 for sale at racial NPC.
So old T3 owners can:
1) reskin their T3
2) keep their old T3 and keep the new for another armorset as compensation
3) humans have again a racial armorAnet on their side
-have just a single racial armor to design for just 1 race.
-can put flamekiss back on TP
-everyone is happy….
- NO need of any refund for anyone…..There are some people that prefer the original t3 to the flamekissed and they would no longer be able to obtain it. It is also worth to note that Anet would have to come up with an extremely good concept for armor in order to compensate humans because it has the current one to live up to.
If you have your old T3 you could keep it
If you don t have it ou are not losing anything….And Afaik reading devs, developing an armor for a single race is way easier thus they can come up with something good.
Not talking about keeping the t3 if you already have it, I am talking about players who do not have it yet and may prefer to buy it when they can afford it.
I just dont see how people say, that its 1/3 of the price. 800 gems is about 60 gold, that means T3 is 180g.
I skinned my sentinels armor because i really liked this skin, so does that mean everyone with T3 should pay the same as i had to pay for my sentinels set, cause thats what i see mostly. People being mad because they paid more then the people that bought this skin. Last thing i saw Sentinels was about 99g up to 180g a piece x 6 = at least 600 gold, i dont think T3 is that expensive.
People that bought the skin before it being pulled should have a CHOICE. If you wanna keep it, keep it. If you don’t then you get the new skin. It would save a lot of the problems created due to this. Anet wouldnt have to give refunds or check what stats/equipment people skinned. They would have 1 or the other.
There will always be people that nag about something.
@MisterEction —-> i doubt that will happen cause to take an example the other 2 sets look horrible.
People where more mad about the fact that every race had access to human cultural rather than about the price. The price was a factor but not the primary one.
Look a few posts above and you will see that this suggestion has already been made and that it has problems of it’s own. The best solution is for Anet to work hard in order to restore the armor of unsatisfied customers to it’s former state.
No, the best solution is to provide the people who bought the Flamekissed armor with a skin of comparable desirability, quality and utility that looks different from human T3.
The goal needs to be that people are as happy with the character the armor is on after it is changed as they are with it now, not that they just have the same amount of stuff they had before buying it.
People with T3 had the same amount of stuff as before and weren’t happy. ArenaNet took Flamekissed armor away from other people to make the people with T3 happy. Now they should be focused on doing whatever it takes to make the people the armor was taken away from happy.
I agree that the new armor should be very good so as to satisfy the people who purchased it but, inevitably, not all of them will be satisfied. People have different tastes you know. This means that Anet should be ready to do everything in their power to restore the gems and the armor of any possible unsatisfied customers.
You couldnt hear other side because they were SATISFIED with shop for once. Just wait, more people will start complaining once they found out you’re changing skin they bought.
Only good solution is not to remodel skin for those who bought it (they will get somewhat unique skin for supporting game shop), change it for future purchases.
Everything else will screw this up even more. Many of us have applied this skin over other cultural and armor that was already transmuted before that and if you change it for everyone people will not trust you with future shop items.
Look a few posts above and you will see that this suggestion has already been made and that it has problems of it’s own. The best solution is for Anet to work hard in order to restore the armor of unsatisfied customers to it’s former state.
Creating an ultra rare armor set only available to the few thousand who bought it before being pulled from the TP does not seem the most fair or solve the issue of human cultural being made available to other races for 1/3 the price.
ANet goofed. Flamekissed is getting nerf. It happens.
Ok lets say they change looks for those who bought it. If I dont like it, I want my armor back in same state as it was on the day I applied your skin. I have even transmuted some norn cultural and other (already transmuted) armors. We will end up losing 50+ gold and some skins for supporting this game and purchasing in shop.
Wanting your armor back just the way it was is a reasonable demand and I support you. Anet should not only refund 800 gems if you are unsatisfied with the new design, but also give you back the skins that you had on your armor before purchasing flamekissed.
This entire situation is an outrage. Both the creation and release, and the proposed solution are extremely unprofessional. By so blatantly re-skinning — there is no way this is an oversight — a unique item, Arena Net degraded the value of the item, and in turn devalued the time of original consumers of T3 Human armor. The consumers work and time for a unique item was now wasted, destroyed by Arena Net’s decision. Any opportunities they missed to acquire this armor are now forever gone.
Arena Net saw the harm this caused, and responded, but their offered solution is far from correct. They offer an unknown remake of the skin to the consumers, or a refund on the purchase. This solution takes no account of the work or time any consumer spent to integrate the skin to his/her character. Without knowing what the updated version will be, any consumer’s resources spent to obtain this form of the skin are devalued; as they can only act in concerns to what they know, their current skin. All time is valuable, in more than a monetary sense. The other opportunities that were bypassed to work for the skin/gems/items to go with the skin and the investments (whether intellectual/monetary/etc.) are lost with this solution. This especially affects the uninformed consumers, who are still out there working to acquire items to go with the Flamekissed skin. All of the time they spend becomes nothing with the update of the skin. The refund option does not credit consumers for any time that has been wasted, only crediting the sole purchase.
In short, Arena Net is rectifying devaluation of one party by devaluing another party. They created a devaluation of human T3 consumers by removing the unique aspect of the armor, thus the work and time of many T3 consumers is devalued and lost. The solution they present, to revalue T3 users, creates a devaluation of the Flamekissed consumer, in a very similar way to the T3 party’s devaluation. Any work or time the Flamekissed consumers invested is now lost.
No company should, in any form, devalue its consumers. To correct this wrong, Arena Net needs realize the value of both parties of consumers. First, the skin must be removed from sale, and be reworked, to prevent the continued devaluation of T3 users. This has been done, and was a correct decision. Next, any consumer who purchased the Flamekissed skin needs to be allowed the option to keep the current version. This takes into account the work and time they spent to acquire it and adapt to it, thus respecting their invested time.
For those who purchased the T3 Human skin, their armor will remain slightly devalued, an unfortunate outcome of a poor decision made by Arena Net. No solution will completely rectify this wrong, but the current proposed solution only harms the entirety of another party. Arena Net needs to take responsibility concerning this substandard decision and their devaluation of one party, and not in-turn devalue another.
Extremely well said. Both parties have worked for the items – whether earning money in the real world, or earning gold in game – in addition to the time spent on obtaining the items and modifying their appearance, etc. They clearly underestimated the attachment some players have to the exclusivity of cultural armor, despite it belonging to the most played race in the game. Perhaps this would have led to updated armor sets from other cultural tiers? No less, Arenanet made the blunder and the players reacted.
By devaluing those who purchased the gemstore armor, Arenanet undermines the consumer confidence in those they depend on to financially support the game. By devaluing those who feel attached to the exclusivity of their T3 armor, they risk the satisfaction of a portion of their playerbase. There is no solution in this circumstance that will make everyone happy, and other games who have fallen into very similar blunders have made the move to allow the original to remain for those who purchased the original (like the flamekissed) set, and from that point on only offered the redesigned set for future purchases. This would be a better solution, as it doesn’t undermine consumer confidence, it doesn’t leave consumers who made additional purchases/investments in the lurch even with refunds, it pleases those who do not want modified reskins of a cultural tier set in the gemstore, and it prevents Arenanet from taking a loss with the ensuing refunds if their replacement set is not satisfactory.
Not a good solution because then we will still have a few players who will run around in sets that are only meant for humans. Also we will have more players whining because they can’t obtain it anymore while other people have it just because they where “lucky”.
reskin it to something like this
http://img90.xooimage.com/files/0/5/7/tissus-femme-3b7bf78.jpg
only with the flames and lava etcPlease, no. The T3/Flamekissed armor covers less skin, and has an interesting design. What you’ve linked is a modest dress. I mean no offense to your tastes, but it’s just not nearly as appealing. This game lacks skimpy armor, even for light armor classes – Masquerade is fine, but the skirt is huge. Feathered also has an unflattering silhouette in the skirt. The sylvari snapdragon set is gorg, but unavailable to other races (I would not be upset about that being reskinned in the TP either, and I have two sets each of snapdragon and orchid). The winged set has a lame hood, kitschy wings and the skirt seems too filmy. The conjurer set has those silly pants and bell sleeves. Other than that, the only light armor, skimpy option is the Phoenix set from the gemstore. Even then, it’s pretty modest. The Human T3 is the sexiest gear in the game, thus, they need to make something comparable without any of the aforementioned faux pas. (Maybe get a female design consultant? Ha!)
So.. Should I be upset over the TA Nightmare set looking too much like my T3 Sylvari cultural armor? And the TA light set looking too much like the T2 Sylvari cultural armor?
Maybe they could make an armor set from components taken from several different sets then? I have seen plenty of good mix and match armor.
- NO need of any refund for anyone…..
There are some people that prefer the original t3 to the flamekissed and they would no longer be able to obtain it. It is also worth to note that Anet would have to come up with an extremely good concept for armor in order to compensate humans because it has the current one to live up to.
However I do agree that the flamekissed armor shouldn’t be scrapped, just make it an upgrade to human cultural via the mystic forge and make upgrades for the rest of the t3 cultural armors too.
Good job with the QQ’ing, people. There’s finally a good looking skin available (other than that Mad King outfit that I would have bought if it had been an armor skin and not town clothes) and now due to a bunch of fake outrage by people who weren’t going to buy that skin no matter what it looked like, I can’t get it at all. Good job, indeed.
It didn’t bother me that it was based on an existing design, it looked pretty sharp, especially compared to the other stuff on offer. I was going to wait until I leveled up my latest alt to get it, but now all I can do is wait and hope that its’ replacement isn’t a total mess. Once again, GOOD JOB!!! (if you didn’t notice, the sarcasm is set to 11)
And you couldn’t make the in game version of the armor you loved so much for… reasons?
How exactly am I supposed to put flame/particle effects on armor? Is there some newly introduced level in armor-crafting that I don’t know about? To make the point obvious to someone like you, I’m not “in love” with the base armor but I really like the armor WITH the effects. And now my choice to buy that armor with those effects is gone.
I also liked the armor but Anet just couldn’t keep it in the game because they where basically giving reskinned human CULTURAL armor to every race.
If you want the armor so bad go to the suggestions section and suggest that they make it an upgrade for the original via the mystic forge or something.
I had tier 3 human cultural on my human elementalist, female. As soon as I saw the gem armor, I was really happy. I thought hey, my favourite armor in the game, now available to EVERYONE, with some cool-looking effects on it, too! Instead of being a kitten about “how exclusive and human-only this armor should be”, I said “thank you arenanet for making my elementalist look even more awesome, have my ten bucks”.
I am not as selfish as the majority of the community here. I prefer saying thank you, instead of “this skin is wrong”. In fact, if more t3 cultural armors would be remade, with extra animations (icy ones for the norn t3 heavy, electricity for asuras, etc), it would be freaking awesome. I don’t care if I have to pay gems or gold for it. I don’t care about who wears what. They’re skins. SKINS. Come on. You’re not gonna be paying attention to the skin while killing people in WvW or PvP, you just want the skin to look cool in Lion’s Arch!
But no, just because this community is selfish as hell, Arenanet are following what pleases their customers. And unfortunately, for them it’s the right decision. But I just want to add, that I just officially dislike this community a lot.
I really hope the new Flamekissed armor is awesome, because if it ain’t, I want my previous armor back.
Lol it’s like you people just can’t do basic math and comprehend the fact that it cost 1/3 the price of T3 armor.
Go through every post here and tally up the posts that complain about “exclusivity” and the ones pointing out how its the same armor for a fraction for the cost and I bet you you won’t find more folks complaining that other races can have the humans’ armor and a lot more people complaining about how their armor just droped in value by a whole lot because anet thought it should only be worth 60g after all.
Telling people they just have to deal with the items they earned dropping in value because you want something for cheap is also pretty kitten selfish and really eroding the sympathy I have for people who are having to deal with losing an armor they like.
This is a thread about the exclusivity of T3 and I’m pointing out how selfish the whole thing is. If I can’t do basic math, then you basically can’t understand English.
Besides, gem prices can go up, gem prices can go down. If more awesome stuff like this was released, 800 gems would cost more than 120g. But you see, this community is easy to kitten off, because everyone is lazy and expects their “hard-earned money” (just LOL) to just pop out of nowhere.
I’ll say it again, I want my old armor back, unless the new Flamekissed armor is something extremely unique, awesome and “exclusive”, since some people like this word.
Also, animations and special effects on the T3 armor is a good idea. Why not just update the old vanilla ones?
Sorry but it’s not selfish to expect your race to not be the only one that doesn’t have a unique t3 light cultural armor.
Gonna just drop in here and leave a hearty “No.”
Same ^ ..just no.
I can see so many people consider leaving this game for good if they do anymore of that.
So why is it fair then that only human scholars are left in the dust? No, now they should do it to everyone.
I planned on getting T3 Human for my elementalist human upon reaching level 80, but now i’m going to get it at half the price, plus it’ll even look cooler with the fire on it!
Don’t ruin this for me!
So for all the people who worked hard and paid full price for that armor, they shouldn’t complain because it will ruin it for you? Wow… Just… Wow.
If you buy 1kg of bananas for 20 euro today just to see it in promotion tomorrow in half the price, will you boycott the supermarket, lol
So many delusional people on this board …
That’s pretty much what I was asking last night. I have 4 human characters and all 4 of them are wearing the T3 armor, I have 4 Norn characters and all of them are wearing T2 or T3. I don’t see the problem in it. I would welcome other races being able to wear the norn armor as well. In general there’s not much modification when it comes to the characters. I am just surprised how much drama people stirring up over some freaking armor lol
It’s not just about the cost of the t3 cultural you know. Have you been paying attention to the complaints at all?
^ the just created female/male models for the Charr for this.
I’m not quite sure we are talking about the same thing. Unlike the other races (except Asura), there is no armor difference between female and male Charrs.
I didn’t verify it, but I’m pretty sure even with this armor it’s still the case, or else we would have heard about female Charr wearing such a skimpy top and skirt. If Anet allows female humans to wear all the Charr racial armors, they will have to make another version for them. And not only because I want more armor skins, but because this is what medium t3 looks like : http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/9/91/Trapper_armor_medium_charr_both_front.jpg, now imagine it, without any changes, on a female human.
“Check your graphics options” Must be my eyes lol
Everything is on max.
Oh woops. This was the case for me, since I always play in the lowest graphics to make WvW as smooth as possible.
Of course they will have to change the female version, the charr have exactly the same armor for both males and females.
I want norn t3 light for my human male necro, support. Let’s have all cultural armor for everyone.

And why can’t we do this with any non-human armors? If we can kitten human cultural let them access culturals from other races or even make a new cultural. As it is now humans have one less cultural than everyone else.
No corean-MMO-like armor please.
Gw1 armorsets are still there to be ported, and some are way better than anything posted so far.
Maybe they could make one of the better GW1 light armor sets the new human t3 cultural? Yeah, that’s probably hoping for too much, huh?
Why is everyone so angry? I’m perfectly happy and okay with this change. Now I can buy T3 armour for pvp without grinding to rank 80! No one loses anything with this change, there are only good sides.
Amazing job anet.
Humans lose uniqueness and get nothing to compensate while every other race gains a new skin.
Just wait till Wintersday when we get frost armor. One of them will be a frost version of the t3 norn heavy, I can see it now…
Will definitely get it for my human mesmer… feel sorry for those that had spent 100 plus golds on the human T3
And I feel sorry for all human casters because now they only have 2 cultural armors.
Guys, it was a one-time reskin. Stop being sheep and deal with it. People aren’t going to ever say, “Pff, you have the t3 cultural instead of the $10 gem store armor? LOOOSERR.”
It’s not a 1 time reskin, they did this with HoM skins, now again with this. they think it’s an acceptable practice and will continue doing it. people enjoy earning hard to get things, and this armor was 1) bound by race and 2) costly. And now it’s neither, bc anet wanted to make a few bucks off of it.
Even if it was a 1 time thing and it never happens again, which I doubt, we still have the big issue of humans no longer having a light t3 cultural set while all other races still do. It’s pretty ridiculous.
hold on so people are whining because people can pay 10 REAL LIFE dollars for something they bought in game for make believe money?
LOL
No, they are whining because t3 human light cultural is no longer a cultural armor.
This entire thread is proof positive that people want to be raging mad about anything and everything…
Must be the cool thing to be on the internet these days…It’s an armor skin. One that if you don’t like you don’t have to buy. It doesn’t magically devalue the original at all.
Sure, anyone on any race can wear it (as long as they are light armor) so long as you don’t mind looking like a walking torch.
If a fire motif isn’t your thing though, and you want that armor, then guess what? You still have to be a female human light armor wearer and have the gold to spend. The differences are obvious and nobody is going to mistake someone who bought their t3 human cultural light armor with someone who bought the skin off of the gem store.
It still makes the human light t3 worthless when compared to other t3 cultural because everyone can replicate the look to an extent. If they made all the culturals available to everyone it wouldn’t be such a big issue and then your argument would hold some merit as some people prefer the default version.
But human light wearers are getting cheated right now, especially the ones who already have the armor.
You guys are being quite childish here, If you have your cultural armor and you like it, be happy, you should not care if someone else is getting it for 1 silver a piece, good for them, I have my stuff, I enjoy it, that’s all that matters
Suppose you are in line to get coffee and your bill is $5 for a large. You pay and then the next guy pays $2.50 for the same large amount of coffee in a cup with a red lip. No rational human being is going to go “Welp, as long as I got my coffee I don’t care that he got the same thing at half the price for no reason.”
more like:
>I buy my coffee at 8am
>suddenly 12pm all coffee 50% off!
>oh man that totally devalues my morning coffeeyou got your cultural armor 1st, and it was exclusive for a while and it still is to a certain degree, cause the difference between cultural and gem store is quite notorious
should there be a limit on what skins they should and shouldn’t re-use? of course!, but I think cultural armor is not hard enough to get to be so mad
Dude, the T3 human cultural still costs the same so your analogy is way off. The huge problem here is that every race can now get a cheaper and improved version. This makes the armor worthless. Also do tell me why it is the only cultural available to everyone, simply put it’s completely unfair.
