The Heritage skins work as stones as do the profane skins. No difference in functionality according to Anet. In actuality, my “stones” statement above may have some merit since they do not function as the skins do.

Nope… doesn’t work. It’s these stones!! The stones are defective!!! haha. No but seriously… same dead end result as my other attempts.

Can you transmute the Heritate shoulder with the Profane one?

Was kind of scared to try that if it might cause further issues, but hey, why not… it would look better than the little mantle it appears as currently.

I noticed you have the new gear released in Nov 15th. Maybe there is a bug with that, got another item you can test it on?

What gear was that Puandro? The Profane skins or the exotic armor? The exotic I’m trying to use it on was bought from the BLTP and I wasn’t aware it is a new type of armor, if that is the case.

The armor types of the armors must still match, it’s most likely that you’re trying to transmute light -> medium or something to that extent.

In my case this is not the problem. I also checked to see if it’s an issue with skins by going to the HOM and getting a Heritage Skin to see what would happen. It will allow the transmutation.

I bought the Profane Skin set from the gem store. At the time, I only had two pieces of exotic armor to apply them to and applied the rest to “green” armor to complete the look and assumed that I could later transmute the “greens” to exotics with fine transmutation stones. I buy 5 stones at the gem store and find that it will not transmute as the button remains grayed out. To date, support has been of absolutely NO help.

I honestly tried to find a place to ask this question based on open topics but I found none. I’ve seen it said that some infractions are not, in fact, infractions but merely warnings. I wanted to use the forums for information and thought that I could trust the integrity of Authentic Guild Wars 2 forums to provide answers to my questions as well as a place to research current issues or in-game problems and development’s response to the community. The one and only post I have made prior to this received an infraction stating :
“Moderator Notes: Please refrain from making posts that do not provide any meaningful contribution to the topic at hand. The message was deleted. If you believe you have received this infraction in error or wish to make an appeal, please send an e-mail to forums@arena.net.”
My comment was merely informing another community member that I found his post very funny and amusing, and not in a bad way.
I’ve heard other horror stories about people getting banned from forums for trivial matters such as these and some have even lost their game accounts? I don’t know if that’s true or not but I do not feel that using forums is worth losing your game account so I have not been using the forums at all, until now. I’d like to be able to use the forums without being afraid of losing my game account due to infractions imposed by seemingly overzealous Moderators. I understand some rules must be in place and we must remain civil and respectful with each other, but this is a forum for a game that is supposed to be fun, so what’s the harm in a FUNny comment that makes you laugh?

I found this out by accident, trying to name one of my characters from my other Guild Wars 1 account which is not the one I had to have them manually link. If they ever do release the names, I’m almost 100% sure it will still be available.

I logged in to see how we were doing at 2:30 AM PST… ended up taking over for another commander until 4:30…

I was up til 4:30 am CST. I saw you log in when I was ready to hit the sack. I stayed up and decided to go the extra mile when I realized we had some people that wanted to make a difference. My guild has been pushing me to leave this server, now I have something to show them as an incentive not to.

It all boils down to a balance issue. Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Anet say free transfers would remain in place until the servers balanced themselves? If the choice is left to the players, naturally they’re going to move to a winning server eventually. We had 3 large guilds bail from our server to the winning server for that week. The result? Well they painted the map red night and day. After the first day of the new matchups, it was obvious to the other two servers that the week was a total wash. Outnumbered night and day… so what’s the point? The guilds that have taken root on their server and have been building up their guilds lose EVERYTHING if they have to transfer, including all influence. This is like a penalty to fix something we shouldn’t have to. So what happens if we transfer to the next bandwagon and we see a repeat of the same scenario? Start over again? If anyone has any info about Anet directly stating their stance on any of this I would love to read it. Personally, I’d like to know wth is going on and if there is something planned pr being evaluated to resolve this balance issue in wvw.

WvW is Guild Wars 2’s end game content, IMO. I really hope they are looking into viable solutions to server balance. This not only affects a player’s wvw experience, it affects the ability of guilds being able to maintain it’s ranks. My guild is barely 4 weeks old and the constant lack of balance has already frustrated the majority of my PvP group we’ve had for over 7 years on Guild Wars 1. Night capping, Oceanic Presence, free server transfer or whatever the issue is really irrelevant. BALANCE is the key here! If you cannot initiate a balance in WvW mechanics, this end game content will be the undoing of everything you’ve tried to accomplish with an otherwise outstanding game.
