I agree to what has been said, to get the most out of granades you will be stuck on 30 power traitline. Otherwise Granades are not that good. Bombs are very powerfull too. And i seen dozen engies being really strong with elixer gun too. Next to that Granades are not easy to use, like thiefs heartseeker spams… We actually need to keep spamming while aiming, and they are rather easy to dodge/see comming…
They are stong, this is true. But other classes have tons of strong skills like those as well so.. And they are even easier to handle.

The NPC’s: Roxy, Braham, Marjory and Kasmeer are a LOT more interesting to have around then other NPC. Perhaps its because you can see them using skills and they dont drop dead on the battlefield all the time :P
I love to be around them in the game, and how you get to learn them while fighting side by side! I hope you will introduce more NPC’s in the future, as im curious if you will bring other classes into this living world NPC team

How do you open doors? Im stuck on one door that doesnt seem to open at all, not from event. Also waited a lot of time near it. (Its in the purifier region). I guess you have to open them in a certain order then?
Depending on what build you use with grandes, but in tanky build i do find it usefull sometimes to melee with granades, you will always have 3 hits, and you have tons of CC skills to throw at them anyways. Ofcourse you will need to control long range too and with full beserker 1500 range and some enemy zerg you always hit something and you always hit kittenly retaliation is a pain then :P.
Cool thing with grandes is that you CAN be ranged with them, but you dont HAVE to be. The toolbelt nades hit hardest in some1’s face direclty.
Cleansing formula is good, but only in alchemy/elixer builds..
The alchemy is the best trait line anyway i think.
Healing turret is nice, but i prefer easy med kit swapping mostly for buff trigger etc.
The elixerC is good, but its slow animation is a bit lame. If it were an instant effect it would be much more effective..
Elixer gun is ok i spose, not that good though for condi removing.
Dont forget rocket boots or overcharged shot are good escape skills, and stunbreakers.
The engineer toolbelt skill that comes with the new healing skill is bugged.
It says it should remove pollen, and change into regeneration, but it doesnt.
I dont agree with engies being OP, we have had the nerfhammer a LOT already and total builds are exterminated. Yes there are still some builds that some of us are insanely good with, but that counts for any class..
As for the topic: acces through trait, sigil, Rune already gives 9x might with easy med kit grab. Use that with 40% might duration and you wont even need HGH.
Ofc for spvp you will miss 3x might from armor rune (alturism) so i guess you need some combo finisher or hgh there.

Anyone have good tips how to engage these guys? I find them among the hardest to fight with in spvp. They just seem to hammer bash me down. Stun i can escape, but the knockdown lockdown is really nasty. Elixer S would work ofc, but how to dmg these guys and avoid lockdown. With the rifle i can at least keep them off me with net shot..
I guess we have to wait till next patch till we get some stability to stand a chance, unless we make a special anti warrior hammer spammer build XD (wich means we suck at killing everything else :P)
Turrets build are usefull in spvp if you really want to play with them, other then that kinda useless.
Hes not among my favourite gw2 NPC’s, but i dont hate him. He has his path set out for him, and it troubles him. You have an even wurse path set out for you as your dream involves dragon killing! At least he often stands his ground and isnt dead on the floor all the time like the other NPC’s :p

Downed state 1: fine i guess, throwng junk for some DPS is like the only thing that might get me back up.
Downed state 2: Yes, works fine somtimes when not massivly ganged. pull the one finishing you or your other downed companions. IF not blinded and IF not stability is on with the target IF not out of range and IF not obrstucted by something random then this could make a minor difrance. i spose…

Sometimes dont spawn, you cant finish guild mission then. Last time needed Junker Apex, but did not spawn and we can not finish.
I think that most of the time you are in a kit anyway with that build. Its good to have denfense at hand when needed and unswap your kit easely as that. Just dont underestimate how usuefull a quick combo finsher that knockbakcs can be!.
Put up flame wall, and shield finisher for an extra 3 stacks of might and stuff like that.
Yea Elixer X, in the hulk mode you can kick his kitten for a bit. Also go for vitality and condition dmg. When you get the chance, burst his face full of granades. The high vitality will keep you alive when being tossed about. Also use HP regen trait, food and what else you have. High power/might stack might kick in nicely too. You might try elixer S i guess, since it has 50% chance for stability, but tbh its too short anyway. Kinda crappy. Engies are so horible when it comes to stability :/. I envy human engineers with avatar with stability :P

I have both flameseeker and Quip on my engineer, and altough i do somewhat understand frustration of not seeing them while using kits, i cant say it really bothers me. The more i switch between kits n waepons the more confetti pops out

So Scope doesnt add 10% crit chance at all? It adds a bonus of 10% from your current crit chance? Would make some sort of sense why it will never be 100% crit chance.
10% bonus of 90% crit chance is 9% so 99% crit chance.. Kind of confusing, badly epxlained trait. Also kinda useless in most situations, but still would be good if they could make this work. Maybe give a buff scope when standing still, and showing it in the UI bar would be good!

Yes please. This is a high tier Trait that hasnt been avaible to us at all, and many of us used it without ever realizing.
Just dicard Elixer S. It only give you 3 sec immortality but takes a slot and has pretty big cooldown. Ill miss the invi potion, but there is better stuff now.
I cant believe they still didnt fix this trait.. How much Complaining and topics do we need to create to be heard or at least get some response for the plans of this useless trait.
So make turrets usefull if you want us to use them. Make moving turrets with legs, make us able to shield our turrets or take damage for us. Give us something to work with on turrets except changing its base stats or skills a bit. a turret doesnt move or anything, everyone can walk away, ignore, see, kill or outhink an object that doesnt move. idm using turrets. But your being glued to a position with them and thus making them unreliable..
HGH is a strong trait. Its also our ONLY strong trait. The rest of Engineer is pure crap, and a lot of stuff is bugged. (snipe, deployable turret for example) Also our elixer U has been broken with new changes. Now 1/3 of time those skills do just nothing at all because they removed invisiblity barier from the RNG.. If you think Engineer is OP then seriously look at some thiefs/mesmer/elementalist.. They are gods that you cant even touch sometimes.
And turrets just dont work well in pvp OR pve.. maybe in a 1vs1? I dont want my engi for just 1vs1 with turret builds.
They seriously need to make a drastic change to how the game mechanics for turrets work for engies. Right now they are just not wurth it. Im afraid they just gonna keep wreching other cool builds that actually do work in pvp, until all skills are so crap, turrets are finally “wurth it” …
Maybe its overpowered, but dont tell me that fixing our class means getting more useless turret pimp updates and more nerfing to the cool stuff. Some engies do not like turrests.
In high lvl fractals for example, you will notice range = win.
Granades offer a good deal of condition and CC and are ranged for 1500. (trait needed)
Even warrior or guardian stop melee at some point because the dmg is a lot.
Its not impossible to build a tanky engineer though and survive the frontline with a flamer.. if you want.
Im glad they decide that turrets are Engineers unique thing, and thuss trying to make them more wurthwhile. I think the problem lies mostly in that they break to soon.
Even with repairing and taking more dmg traits, turrets still cant take any burst dmg thus making then unreliable and useless in almost every situation.
I think they should give engineer a skill 5 sec immortality to turret or something, this will definatly make a diffrence. Because right now in Spvp, WvW or big events the mass AoE’s kill your turrets off before they can do anything good. When i see an eenemy engineer cast supply crate, i throw a couple nades on it and they are gone in 3 sec..
The best thing of supply call is the actually stun and sometimes the 1e net that gets shooted.
Im sure Thumper turret is cool now, but other skills and build will be more wurthwhile. That is ofc until they just keep nerfing other engi skills til they be wurthwhile :P

Maybe AoE Stability buff or something awsome. That would make turrets a lot more wurthwhile. Its certainly something id concider in the future when new skills come out.

Im working on the legendary shield right now (about half ways). I already finished Quip.
At first i thought quip was lame and dumb, but it really is kind of fun once you get it.
I will admit it can destroy your image of cool and serious roleplay, but using it every once in a while makes ppl smile Im not sure if Quip and Flameseeker add up in effects or anything but i will let you know if i find out :P
Anyway Engi’s choise for legendary is either a sniper rifle (with shotgun skills) A clownsgun or a Shield with a book glued to it. So if i use a clownsgun might as well have funny shield next to it
Anyway, legendary are still awsome in effects, even if they dont add to your personal taste. BTW you dont HAVE to use them.

I dont use turrets much (only the ones from supply crate elite skill)
They can be pretty cool in some situations, like standing on 1 spot and grinding.
You can pimp them with auto repair, dmg, range etc. Altough i have never tried that.
I did some Lyssa grinding, after the event end the undead just keep comming. Placing some flame, rocket and rifle turret is fun.
Flame turrets can make smokescreens and even give area invisibilty if im not mistaken.
Cant say its completly useless because i havnt expiermented much with it YET
But for sure its easier grabbing one or two diffrent kits to blow up and annoy your enemies with easy swapable CC skills.
I find this cleric set really awsome for support heal.
You get 10% of healing power as power and 5% thoughness as power (traits)
You have good DPS power with bombs and spamming 300+ heals (larger explosion radius) can be really nice healing.
Med kits heal for 1800+ instead of 1000 with full healing power. Also there is this awsome superior rune wich grants 3 stacks of might + fury for nearby players every 10-15 sec while all you have to do is grab med kit and stow it again in like 0.5 sec work.
I really love this build, full support/heal for your team and still awsome dps power from bombing. Also high thoughness makes you awsome to stand next to the tanks or even be the tank while bombing your target. Using pistol/shield mode ofc and trait for +10% dmg from explosions also add nicely.
Any plans for a next Balthazar event organisation? Good job btw, unfortunally i missed it even though checking regualry if its up or not. But i guess searching for organised raids might do the trick for me other then transferring servers for a week -.-

I would like to propose alternative ways of getting obsidian shards.
Right now the only NPC that gives acces is Deathstrider at the temple of Balthazar wich can be enoying because most of the time this temple is being contested and thus making it really hard to get those shards for karma. (maybe its not like that in all servers)
I know about fractuals ofc, and can only say good idea! But id like to keep them open for karma as well.
So why is it only Deathstrider wich have acces to them? Why not the NPC from other tempels? They all have grand events, why not make more NPC on those temples who can sell them?
Also if that is not an option, it would be nice if there could be some kind of way to Promote this event chain to happen more. Or Motivate ppl to actually do this event chain more. Maybe by placing a chopper in Lion’s Arch wich brings ppl there once a day to capture it. Or bigger rewards for it. Maybe even making this event chain easier on some way. Perhaps making it possible to capture it for your guild so that it places flags of your guild all over the temple (and world map). It is a good way for guilds to show their strenght and activity to other ppl in PvE.
I just wanted to place some input into a already great game wich i enjoy daily and giving thought to things that can be frustrating.

Same problem here, My acount still is an old one from GW1 with @NCsoft.
I obviously have to change it to a mail where you can recieve the verifycation mail but i can’t change it to my mail adress because it’s already registered at NCsoft for GW1 and other games.
I want to register this game to my active mail adress but how it seems i have to create a new e-mail adress to continue playing the game?
Hope to hear some solution for this problem soon, as i cant play GW2 right now.
