The problem with T1 is much bigger than the state of Deso and SFR.
When you have all ( bar one ) servers refusing to compete for T1, your whole ladder is useless.

Regarding skill lag , it’s really simple logic, not hard to understand.

- Scenario:

Pro WvW guild with 30 players vs. PuG zerg with 50 players.

- Assumption: skill lag present for all 80 players ( no one can use skills properly )
- Outcome: 30 players pressing 11111 vs. 50 players pressing 11111
- Result: number win, hurray for the PuG !

- Resulting action to counter: 30 guild players let 30 PUGs join = 60 guild + pug blob vs. 50 PuG blob => all press 1111 => numbers win => hurray for the 30 guildies and their 30 PuG followers!

It’s a never-ending circle in which the number of 11111 pressers always wins.

EU T1 is so much fun indeed.

SFRs goal was always to be no1. International server based on cooperation between top WvW guilds. Since beta days.
We did not build the server to crush VS, we build it to be the best.

VS just stood in our way.

Don’t give yourselves too much credit.

This is pretty pointless unless a 3rd server answers with ‘Yes’ to the following question.

Since no one is really willing to do that, the whole EU ladder is a complete joke.
I have never witnessed an online game where every participant bar one actively refuses competition for top spot.

I know that most WvW enthusiasts still remaining on SFR would LOVE to have another go at VS once we’ve patched the holes in our ship. Because lets face it: we love VS ( still ) too much

That’s the point. If you look at how the EU1 ladder looks like atm, you can see that many decided not to do it anymore.
As to the actual question per se – you HAVE to do it in order to beable to compete against the server who does it.

You’d probably have a better experience by joining your server’s Teamspeak or running with your guildmates. Worth a try, it’s lots of fun

It’s a bit late now for T1. SFR will prolly drop to T2 sooner or later as many guilds are simply sick of fighting the same blobs and the inevitable resulting skill-lag and many guilds chose to move away so they can play together.

The ugly truth that has come to surface in EU T1 these days is that this tier is NOT a good place for WvW guilds to be .

It’s clear that VS will not drop the PUG BLOB meta, so other servers will need to follow suit to keep up. Many SFR guilds realised this, and in order to keep their identity decided to move away from T1. And honestly , who can blame them? When you have to chose between your guild’s future and the servers future…

The sad thing about EU ladder is that no other server except SFR has actually tried and made an active goal to beat VS. Unfortunately stuff happened to SFR ( we all know what) and this effectively killed all competition in the top EU tiers. Its sad really that VS is allowed to win in this dominant way.

Because you are only there for the JP while blocking dedicated WvWers from getting in and contributing actively to the servers efforts.

Tip: do it on Fridays before reset. Usually WvW guilds give you free rides because they themselves stock up on siege for the upcoming encounter. The match is decided in most cases anyway by then…

Many People predicted exactly this, that is the price to be paid when a Server gets pushed and does not grow by itself.

…the problem is that VZ and desolation iron use the number to win, so if you are in queue is not a problem another like you is in the blob.
on SFR we use organized small guild with specific build, if half of that guild is in queue no one can fill that void, so for VZ the queue is an advantage, if you are in queue means that your blob is running around, if i’m in queue is a guardian less in my guild needed for our tactic, and we cannot train a pug in 2 mins for fill my role.

I understand what you mean, but don’t have the feeling that SFR doesn’t have any blob, I mean as an opponent I quite often have to fight against SFR bus which are often bigger than ours. We also have as guild raids problems to gather all our members and run together : this week on 9h of guildraid I could only play 2h, because of queues and crashes.

The thing is that you are more used to this then SFR is. You were doing this for a longer time, your players and commanders are playing this new meta very well.
Yesterday on Deslation BL , when you were attacking bay you got LMN blob joining up with MoS+ over 9000 randoms…we wouldnt see our own walls because of the red nameplates.

This new meta has hit SFR pretty hard and combined with the Arena-net free transfer decision ( both came at the same time ) was a hard punch, since those guilds we relied on couldnt get their raids in.

But lets see how this tunrs out.

I agree. Maps too small…blobs have perma swiftness and WPs.
Arena needs to come up with something, or T1 and maybe other top tiers will be pretty stale in combat styles.

I already miss the days when you could come to forums and brag about how ZDs wiped WL , or VOTF wiped RG or stuff like that.
Guild rivalries were holding this game together and making it more fun for everyone.
On SFR we would know that a map is fine if OSC was there , we would call for reinforcements if WL would enter a BL made out PUGs … stuff like that

Nowadays, I hear no one on map chat saying: OMFG WL is here, get ready…or GH incoming to supplycamp… there is no sense of identity anymore.

All I see is in reports is: ’’VS blob incoming ’ or ’Deso blob incoming ’ .

Which is rather sad, especially for us on SFR who used to rely on guilds so much.
It’s the new meta…but it’s rather lame and takes the spice out of the game.

Wierd, a working colleague of mine currently playing on SFR would say that the words of this “1 person” are nearer from reality than yours… He’s basically a pick up (he doesn’t like playing in guild), always follows the bus, and keep being flamed for being a useless PU, and he’s getting often invited to leave WvW because 1 place for him == 1 place less for someone from a WvW guild.

Tell him to join my raid then. I will teach him what to do, we will share proper builds, tell him what gear he needs to acquire. Let him come to us and have some fun on TS.

The big issue is that the game offers no reason NOT to be in a blob, at this moment.
You can be anywhere on a BL in 2 mins with perma swiftness , and get kittenloads of WEXP.

It’s a ripple effect. One servers blobs up and facerolls the map > the second server NEEDS to blob up to stop the first server > 3rd server is like: OMG U GUISE STAHP. NO? OK LOL WE BLOB TOO:D

I really like how random people are lecturing SFR how to run a WvW community.
You need to understand that SFRs success was based on various guilds working together.
Setting up schedules, switching maps to help , getting good in open field.
These were the traits in which SFR excelled.

All changed when Arena-net decided to show the middle finger to the WvW population of the No1. server in Europe and let god-know how many freeloaders and randoms transfer for free.

This impacted our gameplay SEVERELY. It’s normal that SFR guilds and player who invested effort to bring SFR where is it to be frustarted by this. Suddenly you cannot get your guild in, cannot start a raid…worse yet…you pop you commader icon and half of the map ignores you.

You have NO clue how it is … yet you have the audacity to accuse a whole community of being rude to newcommers! We CANNOT play the game we love at the moment.
Are you aware of that fact? Who gave you the right to pass judgement on things you do not understand?

When you join a T1 server with an established community , you WORK with that community, you intergate and follow it’s rules. Not the other way around.

We’re struggling at the moment to settle this chaos. We really are. But to ignore the frustration of a whole server and to judge them that they are not welcoming new players is just just bad trolling, nothing more.

Part of the blobbing issue is that you can get WAY too fast from one side of the map to the other. The giant megablob with constant speed buffs can teleport/run to many objectives with relative big speed and roflstomp small and split up groups.

Unless Mr. PUG afk’s with his mates at spawn in prime-time because the T1 server he just transferred for free ( lol, Arena net ) ticks for jack kitten keeping 3 guilds from joining WvW.

This patch is totally epic. Love the culling enjoyed taking down 80+ viz with 20 of us. We was kinda light tonight after no que issues so alot logged till tomorrow. kitten looking forward to it. Anet pulled it off very impressed now for the skill lag that still shows up at times.

One thing is clear now guilds who will have some balls. Since you do not need commander anymore to run as guild.
