More like 14g every plank and 9g for for every ingot. And all it takes is a hour farming nodes everyday. No dungeon can beat this.
So ANet, please don’t ever change the precursor crafting process. It has bought me a great deal of fortune. Thanks!
Mourning your $50
Anet has already clearly stated, that Elite Specializations will be the way to go for the game ’s future in regard of Character Progression alongside the Mastery System and that we will see in the future more Elite Specializations…
To take just into question that if we will more E-Specs in the future is just nonsensical, because anet surel hasn’t made all this work to introduce that new progression system just to give then all classes only 1 E Spec and stop this system then instantly again…
Makes no sense, right? Right! So its naturally clear, that more of them will come in the future. So it is absolutely not a question about “if”, but actually a question about “when” we get more Elite Specializations probably each time with upcoming new Add Ons whenver we have to beat the next Elder Dragon (4 left, so most likely 4 Expansions to come with 4 more Elite Specializations per Class, for a total of 5 Elite Specializations per Class, what was kind of my proposed maximum number back in the Progression CDI in the past, would make the most sense and gives the Devs also enough time to integrate each of them over tiem balance wise, before a next set gets implemented.)
Based on the ideal number of 5 Elite Specializations per Class, I hope once we reach the end, that it will look like this then:
Thief
- Daredevil (Staff) = Basically ANets Version of a Ninja without calling it a Ninja due to lore reasons
- Infiltrator (Longbow) = Silent Stealthy Long Range Sniper
- Rogue (Mace/Offhand Sword = High Mobile Shadow Stalker/Disarmer
- Saboteur (Torch) = Condition Spreader and Interrupter
- Ascetic (Gauntlets) Martial Artist Counter Attacker that sets the Initiative System on a next level and would be what is basically a Ninja to Daredevil in this case a Monk to Ascetic kind of version.Warrior
- Berserker (Torch) = Conditioner/ Adrenaline Mode Expander
- Legionnaire (Long Shield) = Chaos Legion Style tactical Minion Warrior commanding offfensive/defensive mode Legions that follow them everywhere
- Cavalier (Halberd) = Mounted Knights that uses Mounts as Pets, so as integrated Class Mechanic > Cavalier to Knight without havign to call it Knight (see Mordrem Cavaliers)
- Marauder (Dagger) = Pressure Maker through Enemys Class Mechanic/Elite Skill Depression
- Executioner (Greataxe) = High DPS Cleaver/ Minion RemoverRanger
- Druid (Staff) = Full Healer/Supporter
- Skirmisher (Halberd) = Agile version of a classical Strider with a mixture of Dragon Dogma Gameplay
- Beastlord (Whip) = Multiple Pet Controler/ CCer
- Shaman (Scepter/Focus) The much more and much stronger designed version of a Nature Mage people guessed Druid would become and got disappointed with that shapeshifts itself into Primal Beasts…
-Trapper (Rifle) The kind of anets version of a Hunter to Trapper to give the game a classical hunter, without called it hunter where it would fit the most, ..but oh wait … DH, scrap this
- Scout (Rifle) = Defensive Supporter/ Anti Stealther/ Enemy Analizer/WeakenerElementalist
- Tempest (Warhorn) = Class Mechanic Expander
- Arcanist (Sword) = PbAoE Melee DPSer/ Front Healer/Supporter
- Summoner (Whip) Elemental Avatar Shapeshifter/ Elemental Beast Summoner (brief said, Minion Specialization)
- Mystic (Gauntlets) Environment Terraformer/ Forbidden Spells (Mystic Arts)and Seals
- Tracer (Shortbow/Pistols) Magical Archer/Gunner whose shots never missNecromancer
- Reaper (Greatsword) = Melee DPS Cleaver /CCer
- Occultist (Torch) = New form of the Ritualist as Minion Specialization able to summon now besides of Undeads also Ghosts and Demons from the Mists
- Torturer (Whip) = Boon/Heal Controler Specialization/ Life Leecher
- Witcher (Swords) = Condition Melee with the return of Hexes
- Fodderer (Mace) = Dark Corpse Thieves that become stronger when death is around themEngineer
- Scrapper (Hammer) = Melee DPS/CCer = Anets version of a Junk Smith
- Alchemist (Axe) = Condition Melee/Supporter
- Inventor (Long Shield) Hybrid Range Defender
- Technomancer (Staff) Offensive AoE Supporter that combines pact technology with ley ethereal leyline magic
- Explorer (Torch) = no clues yet for its role, just think it fists best for the last spot in regard of possible options.Mesmer
- Chronomancer (Shield) = Boon Supporter/CCer
- Minstrel (Warhorn) = Crowd Buffer/Debuffer
- Mentalist (Mace) = Direct DPSer/Boon Control using Mind Powers like Telepathy, Telekinesis ect.
- Visionary (Gauntlets) = CC Defense/healer
- Dominator (Whip) = Debuffer/CCGuardian
- Dragonhunter (Longbow) = Range DPS/ Trapper (CC)
- Inquisitor (Halberd) = Minion Control/ Condition Control
- Warden (Greataxe) Defensive Mobile Direct DPS
- Seeker (Rifle) = Range CC/Boon Control
- Cleric (Warhorn) Full Healer/SupportRevenant
- Herold (Shield) = Boon Supporter
- Paladin (Longshield) Tank/CC Defense
- Paragon (Halberd) = Cleave DPS/ Passive Expander
- Archon (Focus) = no clues, but I think it just fits there
- Gunslinger (Pistols) Semi Range CCer/Boon Controler
You have all my cringe.
The reality, however is different as raids have turned out much easier than Anet anticipated.
It’s right in-line with what they expected. Furthermore, they knew people would want LFG for raids, but the tech wasn’t there for it and it would’ve taken a lot of time to get it done. Rather than hold raids until the LFG was done, however, they released raids and will likely work the LFG issue into a future release.
It is literally just a tab named “Raids” within an existing interface that people can post in. I would have agreed if you said they needed time to revamp the whole LFG interface at once.
Revenant is going to be kittening destroyed in the upcoming balance update and there are nothing the casuals can do to prevent this.
Legendary armor is pure prestige and convenience compared to ascended. If you can’t afford to raid, then you don’t deserve it, simple.
PUGs are quickly learning this event. Today I had 3 close calls, we brought them down to 3-5%. Give it a month and it’ll become trivial like Tequatl.
You’re delusional. Tequatl can be beaten with over half his timer left. The most experienced organized TD maps always come to a close call. We already gave it a month. No amount of time is going to fix this meta.
> raid wings
Lost my kitten at this part
It’s the third heavy class available at the new character creation screen. You’re welcome.
Why are we surprised that they wanted to kill their own game?
Right, greed. Greed changes everything.
When ANet decided the amount of ascended materials needed to craft a precursor, they based it off the current TP price. Which is incredibly stupid. The market will adjust itself to become cheaper than crafting it outright, however the precursor crafting process won’t change itself. You can’t race with the market.
So yes, it’ll FOREVER be cheaper and less infuriating (read: snowden drift events) to buy it outright from the TP. Bravo to the economists!

We desperately need a way to craft ascended trinkets that can’t be bought with laurels, commendations, WvW badges. Aside from the amulet which is an achievement reward, there aren’t many ways to obtain the new accessories and rings with the new stats reliably outside of raids. When are we getting this?
Wait….and the constant spamming for taxi rides isn’t immersion breaking, the advertising in game to watch Twitch isn’t Immersion breaking, the constant spam to move to a new map and lose all your progress isn’t immersion breaking? Don’t make me laugh, this is the only real viable solution and they knew it years ago, so yeh i’ll take that over the floods of taxi cries and map jumping.
Sorry if something rustled your jimmies but that was entirely sarcastic
Is it really that hard for ArenaNet to make a Megaserver channel list so that players can switch / leave empty maps and gather people without taxis? This has been asked many times before but remained unknown. Maybe someone should ask on reddit to get an answer..
cough Guild Wars 1 districts cough
Immersion breaking /s
The stack of rings on my inventory is looking at me depressingly.
…aaand Chaos Armor got nerfed visually.
Seriously, why do we have to sacrifice so much into this “esports” toilet?

Did you try purchasing a key from any official online retailer? They goes on sale often and if they’re on ANet’s whitelist, there’s nothing to hesitate.
But I understand if you don’t ever wish to purchase it. I bought it for $35 and if it wasn’t for the core game, I would have demanded for a refund.
Took the money and ran. Just standard practices nowadays
Except for the Tempest Loop, the North Wind and my Chronomancer Epaulets with tiny glowing bits, what “cool new effects” are there for the other elite specs? Cool skins? A stick with two ribbons and a worn rag for the thieves? I don’t even play thief but that’s just insulting.
They visually nerfed mesmer’s wells, ele’s fireball is now a fire spit, while facet of chaos still shine brighter than welding torch. And you tell me this is fair?
(edited by Hakuryuu.8634)
Let’s see…
Fiery ember arms, check
Flashy circle showing active facets, check
Most flashy elite specialization weapon, check
I understand you have to sell the expansion but this is just downright despicable and unfair. What about the other professions? Why?
Given ANet’s recent track records, I’m afraid not… I have spent my hard earned $50 and I don’t want to spend any more for this game.
Make me feel ashamed as a mesmer :/
And no, no one ever go down from the second phase onwards.
You can’t, because that’s the sword you used to stab Trahearne in the front with.
It’s a nice touch for those who wanted to kill him and steal his sword. Kitten murderers, this is what you got.
Only feasible way to ascended = credit card?

There is no grind with your credit card.
All of us should have had ascended for months now.
My issue, now with the raid dropped, not only do you have to have a raid specific character, some of us have to craft multiple sets for the same toon.
Because it’s not like there was a huge influx of new players after the introduction of F2P and HoT which will be seemingly locked out of higher-level fractals and to a further extent, PUG-raids forever?
Not to start another discussion about skill > gear level but you know, even your guild mates will only begrudgingly accept you in the raid team if you bring just exotic gears only.

A year ago with 800 gold, I can make three ascended sets with quite a lot to spare.
Now it’s barely enough for just one set.
A year ago I can religiously run dungeons and fractals for a week or more and I’ll have enough to start investing in one set.
Now what? If you wish to farm for ascended armor box, you will have to run high-level fractals. But in order to do that, you’ll need ascended armor for enough AR slots to begin with.
What other options are there for me? What kitten is in charge of this design?
Come on people, ANet can’t eat your virtual golds for a living! Buy gems ffs!
Obligatory /s.

Until the sales have dropped significantly
You spelled Only the insane play thief in PvP wrong
Title. Everything the game has introduced points towards the gem store. Store-exclusive outfits, bundle-exclusive outfits, putting on a banner to promote gem to gold conversion (but not the other way around), only including an extra character slot to come with a new professions after receiving negative feedback and callouts, it almost sounds like they aren’t doing so well with the sales.
But are they?

Then go play WvW?
(edited by Hakuryuu.8634)
Here’s a tip: Gather materials and sells.
No one is going to tell you further than that. Not because we don’t want to share with you, but when we start telling the public, that’s when it starts becoming ineffective.
You can’t compare numbers of maps in two different games, we only have half of Tyria in GW2 while having multiple continent in GW1, does that mean GW1 has 10 times more content?
That is exactly the point. EotN has “10 times more content”, compared to the base Guild Wars 1 and it took less time to accomplish this feat compared to this DLC pack for Guild Wars 2.
It isn’t comparable, because those were standard eight years ago for a MMO of eight years ago. And I expected this exact company to improve eight years after, but they did not.
Should I also mention that EotN introduced four REGIONS, each comes with lots of maps, only for you to say “but those maps don’t have the amount of vertical exploration”?
Eyes of the North:
- 41 new armor sets, including rare, stand-alone pieces
- 100 new profession-specific skills (10 per profession, none of which are elite)
- 50 new PvE only skills including 3 elite skills
- 10 new heroes
- 18 Dungeons
- 124 new quests
And the list goes on. What took ANet today two and a half year to release a half-kittened DLC pack with four maps gated hourly and by masteries, eight years ago it took them significantly less to introduce three full campaigns and a full-fledged expansion.
ANet today isn’t the same as the old one anymore. It is now at best a pitiful attempt at cash grabbing, feeding on the mouth of gem whales and milking the former glory of what GW1 was. Leeching the old ANet, even.
(edited by Hakuryuu.8634)
Why not both?
It sucks that there aren’t many Commander trinkets outside of Mordrem Loop (the achivement amulet) right now.
On the contrary, only skilled Eles can frequently maintain a health threshold above 90% most of the time to make this trait useful.
And in a very subtle way, it’s a way of saying kitten you to the braindead condi reapers, so I see nothing wrong with this. Move on and l2p.
-They tried to make up for the fact there is actually VERY LITTLE content, by making timed, and gated content. (Meta events where you have to wait hours before the next, Mastery points, where you must complete annoying mini games (where you must do them if you want a shot at collections))
-After 4 weeks, there is nothing left to do but spam lfg to try and find an organized group to do the metas. If you dont get in one… wait a few more hours.
Shots fired. Go home boy, he totally called the dips on this one.
HoT has made everyone more toxic and salty. It’s understandable that you can’t please everyone, but as whole, this expansion brought more negatives to the game than positives. I don’t even know why the white knights are defending ANet tbh. WvW is kittened, PvP is kittened, PvE is a massive grind.
All I saw is a kitten trying to strive for attention. Shoo shoo
Not that I’m discrediting the “pro” players, I’m just saying that to shove all this esports crap in the player’s face is an utterly disrespectful and pitiful way to promote your failed PvP state.
Face it, no matter how hard this company will try, the game’s PvP scene will never be on the same level as Heroes of Newerth. Don’t even dream of the likes of CS:GO or DotA 2, because that’s a pathetic thought.
They just did a “content” update (HoT). Give the schedule of content updates in the past, espcially the period before HoT, we’ll get LS3 around next November.
You’re saying I’ll have to wait another year to earn my $50 worth of content?
This is a nasty and disheartening business practice.
I’m not calling myself a specialist or veteran in Mesmer in generals at all, but I will try to address your concerns against the Chronomancer’s performance in PvP.
No, because the sales are struggling against FO4, SC2 and balancing the overpowered classes will reduce the incentive to buy the expansion further.
The latest patch notes indicated memory usage was reduced for 32-bit clients. Perhaps the border was removed in that patch as part of the reduction?
This “border” use less than the memory required to render your character’s eyes.
All the time. ANet is beling completely silent about it.
Those zerker reaper ps warrior tank guard still plagues my lfg tool every now and then. Is giving them a place in the LFG tool too hard? Because “raids” are not “open-world content” and I demand a change now.
I need this so much. The kits can cost like 1g for all I care, just let me get my runes back.
