price range felt high but considering how high Quality of life upgrade these are it was actually okey. please add more of these, max 5 feels kinda low count :S
More coming probably in few months when most people are recovered from such high price.
Who knows, maybe they had 20 for 10k gems in mind at first, but 100 euro for 1 inventory bag probably seemed too high to put down at once, even to them.
At the end of the day, ANet’s a business. If the eSports investment really is doing that badly, then they’ll cut it; that they haven’t yet either means they’re seeing growth that justifies continued investment or it’s doing much better than you think it is.
That might not be true.
It looks like someone at Anet is trying to push it even though it just doesn’t work well.
It often looks like they realize how the scene looks, but try to push it more and more, coming out with new things…
I mean, look at some esports games and at the whole scene. There’s tons of money and there will be much much more in the future. Why wouldn’t you try anything you can to support your game in this field?
Oh wait, we know why.
Problem with raid (at least right now) is you need a dedicated group. Set up a pug is a pain.
Also the problem with fractls is not the rewards but the instability system which is unfair and goes against proper gameplay.
Maybe the intention was to shake up the… proper gameplay.
Don’t talk to me like you know me.
Good doggie, good boy!
Why would anyone disagree with gliding in Tyria after they make sure there aren’t game-breaking exploits?
…someone being lucky on RNG.
So what gives my account my personal drop rate…
And don’t bullkitten here that its the same for everyone…
I wanted to write something reasonable about RNG in general but then I realized it’s a waste of time :/
does that basically mean mesmer should be the #1 priority on any team comps right now?
Chronomancer is pretty much the bee’s knees right now.
I had to google what that means.
“Definition of BEE’S KNEES. : a highly admired person or thing : cat’s meow.”
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bee%27s%20knees
It seems Chronomancers are currently absolutely irreplaceable. Like cat’s meow!
The people buying large amounts of gems are not and never will be the same people that can do raids.and by marginalizing the people who are the life blood of this game anet have committed economic suicide.
I’ll PM you this post of yours in 1 year with link to Anets financial results.
I’m 100% sure they thought “Hey, Warrior is doing pretty decently, let’s focus our attention on other professions that really need it, I’m sure Warriors will be fine in the end” – And we all know how that ended up.
I love warrior and I agree with you, but I think they did a very needed thing right there.
Let’s wait for next two balance patches.
Diminishing Returns was never about bots. It is, and always has been about punishing people for not playing the way Anet thinks they should.
Maybe they tuned and created it keeping both thoughts on their minds.
TLDR; New raid content is fundamentally no different from old ones. The only way to ensure being challenging is a timer.
Isnt the main problem here with the huge huge difference between a bunch of 10 glass cannons and a bunch of 10 super tanky builds (and not only gear stats)?
Edit: This!
Timers are in place to require you to run a somewhat glassy setup and engage with the boss mechanics in a noticeable way.

I agree with OP.
IMO tossing three +7 infusions and 1 offensive/defensive infusion into the mystic forge should be a thing.
Yes raids and the exclusive new legendary armour that is locked behind them that 90% of the paying customers who supported this game since launch wont have access to will be the end for guild wars 2.
You are one of those simple ones who can never see the bigger picture and just goes with the crowd?
Exactly, and in the end it is not about their skill, which i dare to say is not better in many occasions, but about the fact they have enough time to spare and friends playing GW2 with them.
A magician who can do neat tricks with cards, shuffle them quickly in a way most people deem impossible, isn’t skillful at all.
He just had those thousands and thousands of hours to spend…From wiki
“A skill is the learned ability to carry out a task with pre-determined results often within a given amount of time, energy, or both.1 In other words, the abilities that one possesses. "
“Skill usually requires certain environmental stimuli and situations to kitten the level of skill being shown and used.”I honed my gaming skills when you were in pampers.
Are you at least 43?
Or is this just your way of telling me you think I’m 13?
Do you not agree with me?
@OP, what Galandil said.
You can probably encounter many different people with different mindsets. Alot of parties I see are quite relaxed tho.
We take in 2-3 pugs few times a week for fractals 1-49 and its mostly fine. Even if it takes longer.
One of the biggest problems with newbies is that they mostly never talk. Either shy, or no English, or they are rude if you require anything at all from them, and can’t take any feedback/advice either.
For example, I have kicked people who cant respond to four greetings in the chat for half of the run, and Ill probably never stop doing it. They are unresponsive, unfocused and rude.
And when you encounter certain amount of such players, you become quite sensitive to certain behaviour that just causes you frustration.
I think alot of people got to the point where they just don’t give chances.
My advice is talk to your group on join. If you get kick, forget about it the second it happens and start over.

Selfish skilled ppl dont want to see bad players with the same gear than they are using or claiming that raids are easy just like they do. Not having noob mode in raids make them feel more capable and more unique, besides they can always tell ppl who dont complete the RAID that they are not good enough and things like " maybe this contente is not for You".
I’m so very sorry, but you sound like a kid from first degree, complaining that your mates who can run keep playing hide and seek, not including you.
I’d love to see that in action…as long as they remove initiative cost of thief abilities too.
I think that would only be fair if warrior skills have no cool downs at all.
@OP, most of your points are either you not seeing the bigger picture, or just a personal preference.
@OP – I disagree with you.
Also your post it’s quite hard to read, it lacks commas and paragraphs :/
A coughing cat?
Meough~
The low RNG of these items is by design. They’re not something anet wants people to be using all the time as it kills a large part of their content
Why do you sound so sure about it? Was there some kind of official statement on that?
To me it looks like lazy programming or something. To quickly bump up chest demand back then, when these teleports were introduced.
Just coding a simple action “do this, and that” without any serious conditioning, for example to preserve the item when it wasn’t used “successfully”.
Well if you used more than two until you noticed you should also be ashamed of yourself ^^
Or you for moralizing a stranger person for something like that.
Omg 2015, almost 2016, still the trinity talk? Oo
But someone stated a new fact, its a “pure marketing decission”.
Let’s open the discussion again with this fresh thought on our minds.
… may I advise you to at least play druid, so you buff your team’s damage while healing? condi, preferably… se-settlers? /shudder
I guess you and that blade guy posting here share something in common shudder. I did post that we decided to use oldschool builds and setups for this run without elite specs.
You just have to be ready for any kinds of responses, critics included, when you publicly expose yourself to dozens/hundreds of players that can do the same thing much better.
because they don’t care about dungeons anymore, they will not fix any dungeons, they will not develop new dungeons, they will not spend money in dungeons, they want to discourage dungeons.
Isn’t a BIG part of their incentive the fact that “Arah can’t give more gold than raids”?
Slotting gear for agony resistance is non-intuitive and very intimidating for a new player to grasp. You have to spend a great deal of time researching the mechanics outside of the game and the vast majority of casual players will not bother doing so.
Anet, please restructure/redesign agony resistance so that its easy and intuitive to understand or put in some very specific details in game please.
It seems research is quite big part of every MMORPG game.
Maybe it’s wrong and frustrating, but it’s the way it is.

Yes me and some others having the same problem.
We were doing fotm 16 and everyone had network error.
We cant log back in.
I don’t get why there are so many players calling this game grindy.
I remember spending evenings healing our group of 7-9 killing thousands of mobs over and over. Turning on a bot when we all left to bed. Logging in 3 accounts so my friend could log in 4 and we leveled up our whole group on auto while people were at work/school sleeping.
Took me over 1 year to get to level 95 out of 99 despite several BIG nerfs the game had to experience needed to level up.
And when I didnt tell the guys Im auto-healing and going afk for a while, Ive been shouted on, because dying meant loosing xp worth up to several hours of grinding.
And open world pvp makes it hard to avoid deaths.
I dont agree with every decission Aned did in regards to new content and progression, but calling GW2 grindy makes people look clueless and spoiled. Wanting everything right away.
Why would I care if some people want to farm CoF?
I mean, seriously. Why would anyone care?
If you don’t like it, you don’t have to do it that way.
Because its game-breaking and it gives them advantage over others in… oh wait.
Nothing game breaking about it. You have the option to do the same thing.
Of course there’s nothing game breaking about it. It was sarcasm :/

They’re definitely not a glitch. I’ve been asking for a visibility toggle for the foot slot for a while, but to no avail. I think people finally got tired of my pestering and created this item for me to equip on all my characters so that they can be barefoot like me. :-)
Thank you!!
A number of friends and guildied have stated their extreme unhappiness about this issue and a couple have gone as far as saying they want to just quit the game altogether
“Im not playing with these kids anymore. Its not fair they have bigger numbers with less effort”.
Or?
People don’t know what they want. Most the time they are fickle and wont even decide, then get mad at whatever is given to them.
But wait, isn’t it happening because the term “people” contains a lot of individuals, where each of them has different priorities, needs, desires?
I mean, that explains a ton, right?A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.
Of course!
Thanks for the PSA though :p
(Gibson’s right, it always depends on material)

I think you are being silly for judging him.
Sometimes you get to the point where players doing things that make no sense to you just gets on your nerves.
And so he does a forum rant complete with FULLCAPSYELLING?
You guys dont’ like that people call the dungeon community toxic, but change starts at home.
You call him toxic because he did the same thing that’s happening in every sub-section of these forums?
I’ve been using the new "elite"specializations and yet I don’t feel ‘elite’ at all. In PvE I don’t wreck stuff up more than a vanilla class. In PvP it’s the same story, why do I feel they are not as powerful as advertised? You mean to say F2P players who use F2P classes are more powerful than those who payed for the Elite Specializations? This is a kittening rip-off! You promised us power, and yet vanilla classes are equal and sometimes are more powerful than elite classes. Why does it say “elite” in the first place when it doesn’t give me the edge in combat, you know like an “elite”, someone on another level?
Choose.

Isnt that based on very old statistic numbers Anet released after game launch?
nice team comp
“ok who wants to run ps?”
“ps?”
and you know this will be fun.
What is the new drop rate?
Insufficient.
What’s the monthly subscription fee?
Too much.
why would you even play warrior? Necro has more dps
this man gets it
PS: stop exploiting GS #3 against wall
Warrior
Whirlwind Attack will no longer be able to hit multiple times on its path, when rolling against a wall.
It would be also nice, if they could fix some bugs with Lupicus animations, here is my favorite bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipLBbuifjbc
OS should be definitely fixed. LFG makes me cry whenever I open and see “meta thief, ps, os, 2x ele”…
When people in party want to OS and Lupicus shadowsteps to npc, I am always like “god, thank you” xD
You should always try making him shadow step to you instead :p
So worth risking a kick
You’re not doing the same thing which is the difference. They’re having you do activities across Tyria. Much different than sitting in SW and farming gold.
You just don’t get how farming X amount of gold to buy a precursor is the same thing as farming X amount of gold to buy crafting materials to make the same precursor. Too caught up in the collection to see the cost of the recipe and where the equilibrium of prices will be.
What you don’t get is that you’re not doing the same exact same thing the entire time.
Because precursor crafting isn’t exactly the same as outright buying it on tp makes it better or acceptable? just no.
It’s less of a grind because you’re not doing the same thing over and over again.
Can’t image how many mental gymnastics you went through to get to that conclusion but the discussion between you and me ends here. Neither of us will back down on our stance.
Edit:
Do collection one, spend 250g in materials.
Do collection two, spend 250g in materials.
Do collection three, spend 250g in materials.Wauw you are right, this is so much better than spending 750g in 1 go on the tp.
Wauw, you soo didnt get the point of precursor crafting.
Fixing bugs in dungeons/fractals goes a long way in making the content more enjoyable. Take the Ancient Ooze for example. So many plebs exploiting it on that dumb coral until anet fixed it. After players figured it out, they can actually do it without hiding behind some silly exploit… oh look, it wasn’t so bad after all.
Crying “oh anet dont’ care, we just want gold, blah blah” when encountering a legit complaint like fixing an exploit is just pathetic.
Wait, the 900-1200 range exploit where it doesnt move/do anything is fixed?
Though yeah, i don’t understand why anet just doesn’t have mossman use his spear underwater. he has attacks and everything. he just doesn’t use them.
They forgot to do that few years ago, and nobody told them since.
I dislike the new sounds too :<
Please revert it back!
Reason for a TP : Security, Reduce Inflation, easier to use, free up the map and lfg of all the sellers.
Reason for direct trade : I don’t wanna pay the fee.
And paying the fee is good for the game, as you and previous posters mentioned.
I see this thread coming again next week, with all the newcomers.
