I enjoy getting free Arah paths C:
Hmm, troll, or just dirt?
This is going to be like the vote kick change. A few months of “I’ll get back to you” before a change goes in randomly with no word back whatsoever. It’s not a huge deal but I wish we could at least have a “The developers told me what happened was ‘x’, they are planning to do ‘y’, I can’t give you a time but it’s on their short list of bug fixes.”
Or Alphard’s bug. Back when she was broken I actually got an infraction for daring to ask a direct question addressed to the dev team in a polite, friendly way. Hopefully that nonsense doesn’t start up again.
Let’s remember how that went: several months of people asking “is this intentional or not?”, no reply, and then one day it was magically fixed.
Gaile, you remember all of the communication threads, right? This is the sort of thing we’re talking about. Talk to us like people, engage in discussions, let us know what’s going on. As long as there are major bugs that go unacknowledged for months, you can’t seriously believe that there is an acceptable level of communication here by any standard.
guess what happened when they tried communicating? when regina wanted a bunch of threads about the different dungeons? a whole bunch of “omg why have you guys ignored us, let’s get our circlejerk together and flame the ANet staff”.
i’m not defending their practice and saying it is acceptable, but there’s good reason they don’t communicate.
Are you saying that because crowd of hundreds flamed the staff, they refuse to give their paying customers 1 short forum post stating how things are?
Something like “changes to back-end code caused this, we are aware and are looking into it”.
So much hassle.
But I guess they are too offended by last attempt to communicate with the community? Not.
They are probably very busy with expansion and everything around it. But then again, they are probably always very busy…
They are also one of the squishiest classes and require a fair investment of time to learn to play properly.
Oh hell yeah, very difficult, especially in pve and in zerg wvw.
This game isnt balanced for 1% of the player base.
I’m actively checking on this today. Thank you for your continued patience.
I guess the team is ignoring you, too? :-(
I’ll never understand why it’s so difficult for anyone to simply say whether a major change in behavior is intentional and whether it will be reverted or not. Is it really too much to ask?
Seriously, how long does it take to say “yes we meant to do that” or “I didn’t even know Lupicus changed and ask around”
I second that.
How big does this thread have to be?
It was today! Wohoo!
A new endgame content was just added to the game!
So it’s also fine for ERP?
Why wouldnt it be?
(gems to) gold to gems, or buy them a gem card and gift it. Big loss if you transfer from gems to gold first.
There are 1200 gem and 2000 gem cards.
I know in some different games you cant gift certain items as well. Probably so there is higher chance that the person who usually doesnt buy the currency because they receive alot of gifts, would invest some cash in the game as well.
Well obviously not, and my guess is they won’t.
The people who are not able to play efficiently with zerk gear due to their lack of skill at dodging and using other skill based damage absorbers are in no way a minority (PUG groups are proof……) Many new players who want to play tanky builds or support builds are unable to do PVE content like dungeons due to this insistence on zerk gear and yes the fact that the builds that they want to use are indeed inefficient and add no value to gameplay.
But from my experience on EU, there are way more dungeon LFGs with no requirements whatsoever. Okay, some of them kick you if you arent 80, or if you use very bad weapons/utilities etc.
But zerk only LFGs, and especially the gearcheck ones are a minority.
Many new players who want to play tanky builds or support builds are unable to do PVE content like dungeons
wow. No words.
In my opinion Anet needs to implement more attacks for bosses that dont require use of the dodge function or stacking but rather intelligent responses from the player.
An example: Boss telegraphs a huge aoe attack, the only way to avoid its damage is to jump up on a platform.
Or….
Boss telegraphs an attack, based on the telegraphed attack from the boss; players must either move to location A, B, or C to avoid damage.
Currently their is not much intelligent responses required from the players which is what makes these “bosses” seem so simple and easily defeatable with the meta zerk builds. If their were more intelligent responses required then builds could become more diverse as a toughness / vitality build could become more useful in situations where dodging or avoiding damage is not required, allowing them to dish out more damage during times zerk builds would not be able to.
How fast and how often would different classes be able to respond to a quick location change requirement?

1. Great CoF lfg I found yesterday. Sadly he/she apparently didn“t find anyone matching the requirements for at least 45 min. =(
2. Somehow, these guys (green & red) made me giggle #justfrenchthings
I understand and support that guy from your first catch :p
Just send gold when party is full.
I laughed
@OP
Do you give back the gold if you have been asked?
yes. Sometimes people join and ask me how long is it gonna take. I always promise Ill send the gold back on request and I always do.
Do you give back the difference if you lower the price?
yes, ofc
Everyone has their own principles I guess
(edited by Harny.6012)
I for one don’t understand why we can’t get numerical hp readings, myself. Would make life a lot easier
It’s too confusing.
First of, I don’t see where my math failed
I had a short post prepared for you yesterday but I deleted it. I was afraid it might sound rude although it wasnt meant that way.
Pity
I made an lfg, ‘’god like ppl, zerk only,u die u get kicked, melee everything, melee lupi of the wall, p3’’. to my surprise ppl actually joined. It ended at the crusher. lol
Lupi of the Wall? He’s grown so accustomed to it that he’s adopted it as his title?
I have to admit i laughed pretty hard at this
But it’s still rude
I cant wait to start running AC more again. More buttons pressed is a win!
Anyway on topic, save current page somewhere like previously suggested.

Always take a screenshot of their names before you start the fractal.
Or just look into a message log. New messages “has left the party” have been implemented months ago, after one of devs discussed this issue somewhere on forums.
It was a “Ill see what I can do” thing.
Gifts are always successful. There is no ‘refuse’ step or ‘return’ step, much like there isn’t a refuse or return on purchases for yourself. (except probably even more strict since we wouldn’t allow you to request an item be removed from someone else) . Once the gift, and message, appear in the mail the purchase is considered complete.
The only way to even approximate refusing would be to delete the delivery mail or the item delivered. Which would be treated the same as any other item deletion.
What if you try to surprise someone, and he doesn’t want or need the item, or simply already has it?
Can he open a customer support ticket asking refund for person who gifted this item to them?
How would this be different if an item was picked up from an email from an item that wasn’t picked up yet?
Sometimes, you just don’t know how to ask about it if you really want to keep it as a surprise.
Thank you!
What else

As far as im aware once you have caused this by accident or intentionally there is no way to unbug her other than restarting the instance.
I think its enough to wait far enough untill she resets, or simply die.
Not sure thouhg.
Why the kitten would you make 8 charr characters. Why. Why would you do that to yourself.
I find this offensive
They gave people the female version of the outfit on female Asura (a rarity) and you find something to complain about!?! Hehe, jk. The clipping is pretty noticeable but what is worse – a male version of the outfit on female Asura or a little bit of hair clipping?
They made it more attractive to certain players so more people buy the outfit.
Customer feedback is alyays good, it might actually change something.
(lol)
Report the female tail clipping bug here https://help.guildwars2.com/home
Im gonna do the same.
Social aspect of MMOs makes them a lifestyle to huge part of the player base of ANY MMO out there. Deal with it
No
and stop being so aggressive
Also no
while discussing “just a badly designed game”.
I said designing a game to act like our reality is bad design. The point of games is for entertainment, to escape the “unfaireness” of real life. So this live within your means crap? No, screw that. That’s not fun. That’s just real life. And I don’t buy and play games to experience real life.
Haha, okay okay. I get it, you can’t be any different. Don’t worry, I’m not angry with you
lol
stuff written about how MMO is just a game, and GW2 being a badly designed game
Small part about MMOs from the internetz:
“Since the interactions between MMORPG players are real, even if the environments are virtual, psychologists and sociologists are able to use MMORPGs as tools for academic research. Sherry Turkle, a clinical psychologist, has conducted interviews with computer users including game-players. Turkle found that many people have expanded their emotional range by exploring the many different roles (including gender identities) that MMORPGs allow a person to explore”
Social aspect of MMOs makes them a lifestyle to huge part of the player base of ANY MMO out there.
Deal with it and stop being so aggressive while discussing “just a badly designed game”.
Much appreciated!
How about a character creator like that of Black Desert Online?
And I thought Aion’s character creation was amazing. That looks amazing!
Too bad it probably won’t be used in GW2.
The character creator is amazing, too bad they wasted all their resources on the character creator and not the gameplay.
Kinda like how Anet wasted resources on the NPE and trait revamp?
Zing!
But yeah, I’d kill to have even half of BDO’s character creation in this game.
From how it turned out and what problems there were at start, they didn’t really waste alot of resources…
I think friend on/off messages should be separated from “game messages” tbh.
I don’t want to stare at my log tab the whole time.
I believe the whole friend list/PM system could use new features like better friend list organization, chat with tabs (like previous, 12 y.o. MMO I used to play) and such things, so I’m having high expectations from HoT.
Legendaries have the same stats as ascended, so you’re saying ascende is “regular” gear?
Yes, it is. It is just way too grindy to obtain.
…Now one month into game release, people had their exotic armor and began to complain about having nothing to work towards….
…PS LOL at 5 Days being far too long for you to have to put up with in order to get the absolute best weapons in the game. Big L O freaking L….
Sorry I’m not here to work. Working is what I do to earn money in the real world, playing games for fun is something I do in my free time. I’d like to consider Guild Wars 2 as spending my free time, not as a second job. Having to grind weeks to get materials and money to outfit one of my eight characters with gear is like work. It’s not fun.
But “working towards X” is the game (where X is whatever appeals to you). Getting to max level, map completion, seeing all the story/lore buried in the game, getting BiS gear, becoming proficient at PvP, getting a higher PvP rank, getting crafting to 500, getting all classes to 80, getting all crafting to 500, collecting all minis, getting a full set of rare skins, whatever.
It would be no fun at all if we bought the game, created our first character, and found it was created already at level 80, fully geared with BiS, with all cosmetics and minis already collected and ready to go. The point is the journey, not just the destination. And getting a BiS weapon in under 5 days isn’t much of a journey.
I didn’t read the whole topic, but if you are the first one to write such thing, it’s because it’s too obvious to everybody except OP.
I would suggest console games to OP but I’m sure he knows best what’s his thing.
More sliders and types of everything and anything, for charr especially.
I know this is old (inb4 old news is old), but I recently came back to Guild Wars 2 after a long break and discovered how much of a grind Ascended gear is, and feel like writing a rant (deal with it).
It takes me 5 days to craft one Ascended weapon!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? And that’s assuming I already have all the materials required. Oh, but it only costs 500 of this and that and that. Yeah, that’s only 3 weeks of grinding dungeons, bosses, events and what else you got. For one weapon. Are you kidding me!?
So, if I have one character that uses like 6 weapons, it takes me at minimum a full month to craft all his stuff. But that’s without taking in account the time it takes to grind the Gold and the 1000s of Dragonite Ores and Empyreal Fragments required to craft them. And that’s only for one character that only uses 6 weapons. Then what about my other 4 guys, that use 6+ weapons each? I’m not even going to do the math for that.
And what if I’d like to change my character’s build at one point… what if I get bored of a certain playstyle and want to try something else without sacrificing my stats? Tough ****ing luck because you’ll have to grind another 3 months just to get your single character fully equipped again (that’s even ignoring the ridiculous amount of Transmutation Stones required if I’d want to keep my old look). And before anyone says you don’t need Ascended gear: YOU ARE WRONG. Of course you need Ascended gear, why else is it there? Why else have they have given it better stats than Exotic gear? By that logic we would not need any gear at all since people can solo dungeons not wearing any armour whatsoever. Like, durr, why do we need any armour in GW2 at all when we can clear content in our underwear?
Whichever gear gives the best stats is what we NEED.“But you get all the stuff you need while playing the game, no grind required.” Again: WRONG. What if I like playing dungeons? That doesn’t give me any Dragonite Ore (seriously, who came up with that name, anyway?) What if I don’t like world bosses? They’re just one giant lag fest making me feel like I’m watching a Powerpoint slideshow and don’t offer any satisfying gameplay since it’s just “stand in 1 place with the 100 other peoples and auto-attack away”.
So, I need to do 20 hours of world bosses for a single Ascended weapon. And you call that no grind. LOL!?!?What exactly happened to this no-grind philosophy? Why wasn’t Exotic gear good enough as a final tier of gear? It’s not like people were unable to clear any content with Exotics anyway. Ascended serves no logical purpose other than to **** off those people who don’t have the time to play 28 hours a day, 450 days a year.
BADUM TS
A ticket is the way to go and they usually dont tell you, if they took any action.
I’ll amend that to, “ANet will never tell you the outcome of such reports.” The people you reported may or may not have had action taken against them, but you’ll never know.
I have them all in my blocklist. And when you see them online every day (or they are offline for max. 1 day in row), you can be sure there wasn’t even a temporary ban.
Few times I even unblocked and pmed them and tried to understand what dark magic drives them to do such things.
I found out they are usually just really stupid people ._.
It’s not really related to selling, though. The same thing happens to people just looking for help on the last boss after a member drops or duo/trioing.
I totally agree about the kick system, but it’s just not important enough for them to put resources towards fixing it — HoT is on the way, I don’t expect them to suddenly start caring about bugfixes in the old content/systems now.
Party system is still one of the most important ingame systems and it will stay like that untill the game dies, unless they completely and from scratch change how players interact with each other. I think a change is coming rather sooner then later.
You are still just selling something in-game over lfg.
When you sell/buy an item, you are looking for a group to talk about selling/buying item.
That is similar to selling a dungeon port to me.
It’s not.
Phil, do you main Necromancer?
Probably yes. Look how old thread he ressurected. Only the darkest magic could…
Its like having old house built using bricks “A”. And while newer bricks “B” provide better qualities, like temperature and noise isolation, better longetivity, the fact that manufacturer XY started to make them wont make your house suddenly better.
GW2 is built on older DX version (9 or 10). The fact that MS will release a newer version wont affect this game at all.
So what skills show cumulative damage?
Is there a full list.
I’m starting to think it may be better to show non-cumulative damage by default.
Yes, there is full list
https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=ikG-VPCzB8Sq8weAx4CgBQ&gws_rd=ssl#q=channeled+skills+gw2
I never heard anyone saying ele is a keyboard faceroll class.
It’s pretty complex and very fun to play in a decent group.
Full zerk ele in bad pug runs is a nightmare for me though.
Noticing a lot of new, or less knowledgeable players are having trouble with cumulative damage at the moment.
For example a warrior axe #5 may display 1000, 2000,3000,4000,5000 damage. But each time it is only actually dealing 1000 damage (total 5000). however I’ve lately met a lot of people who think they are dealing 1000+2000+3000+4000+5000 damage ( total 15000).
Some are even getting really defensive in the “fact” they are doing 15000 damage with this one skill. The combat log shows the individual hit numbers.
Could the numbers on screen be changed so as to be less confusing to those who don’t know about the cumulative damage on skills?
Its called channeled skill and it was normal in all MMO and MOBA games, and in most RPG games I played.
Lets change the industry together.
Axe #5 can/does hit for 15,000ish damage though…
You are absolutely right! Genius!
Tl;dr
The point is to play a game you like and do something fun you enjoy.
Hey guys, I have a question. When buying a path 2 arah from someone selling in lfg, but the quest to kill lupicus is still there, is it always an exploit? I thought that it was, that they must have gone underwater and skipped him using an exploit. Some random recently showed me how to skip lupicus using the jumping puzzle in arah though and, tbh, this doesn’t seem like an exploit to me. If there is a jumping puzzle that enables you to skip lupicus in arah, that seems legitimate. Opinions?
If Lupi hasn’t been killed, leave and dont buy from them. Report them if you wish.
There are no JPs in Arah, just bannable exploits.

I am on warrior, doing arah path 2.
! no engi?
If you do try on your engi, you can actually range him in phase 1. Push to the wall, back off and throw grenades at him till you get into phase2 then on the transition drop your supply crate to eat the grub, then get up underneath him for those mechanics.
… Just had to put it, as again IMO Engi is the easiest lupi solo and that ability to trivialize phase1 (taking a little longer of course) is a major reason why. And, since I know you play engi a lot I thought I might mention it.
Always great to know more classes but i thought the point is to learn phase 1.
It absolutely is, but there is a difference between learning it and wanting to punch your computer because for the 5th time today you died in phase 1 because you were .1s off on your kick dodge.
So don’t get me wrong, it’s just something that can let you get past that bump in the road, especially nice for those of us with potato computers or horrible connections
As you want to speed up you’ll surely stand in melee and do it differently.
True.

How is it going? Which phase do you have troubles with?
