Those are 5 man dungeons, hopefully they will introduce larger dungeons for more players. Currently the only way to increase the number of people in a party is with the commander item.

Legendaries should be hard to achieve completing dungeons is not particularly hard. And I just sent 5 gold to my girl friend who wants to make one of the cooking feasts for no particular reason IMHO and she will send me the money back tomorrow. She has done this in several cases even when borrowing her 10 gold, she has the same 9 to 18 job as me and still sends me the money back in less than 48 hours… How is making gold in this game hard? I’ve asked this repeatedly to all the people who complain about way points the TP tax and whatever money sink exists in the game.

I agree with you, the legendaries should be hard to get and completing dungeons are just time. Although it would be nice if there’s an alternative (also non easy) way to get the precursor. I know you can purchase it with cold hard cash from the TP.

From what you’re saying, you could buy one (around 250g) in a mere month but I can barely rack in 2 Gold per night of light playing. How do you make so much money?

I did daily explore modes when I come home from work to get some gear that could not normally be obtained through crafting (since I don’t like spending karma, I’ll need it if a precursor ever drops). And after I would complete the monthly scavenge achievement I’d just sell everything that the dungeons would drop. That plus the 25 silver for completing a path is around 3 gold at the end of three explore runs which takes me around 2 hours in HotW. I always go to the mists when going back to lions arch and rarely leave frostgorge (?!) since the 15 enemy kill variety can easily be achieved there, and the historical and ancient wood spawns are there as well and hotw is right next door.

Thing is once you fill your bank with absurd amounts of mithril and elder wood there really is no reason to keep on scavenging gear. When I get way to much gold I sometimes feel a bit kitteny and start gabling with rares in the mystic forge, I more then once doubled my gold investment selling the exotics that resulted from that… But I also shot myself in the leg. Thing is if you actually stop and save gold I find it hard to lose it since there isn’t much to spend it on honestly, and people keep complaining about gold sinks.

Are Mesmers unbeatable 1v1? (by an Ele anyway :P)

Elementalists are better in PvP, Mesmers are better in WvW. In my experience.

Making legendaries easier to get will:

- Annoy people who worked hard for their legendaries
- Cause the precursor owners to lose tons of money

Yes, because elementalists are clearly the weakest class in game.

ANet should start banning troll posts, I don’t even play a thief and feel offended.

They haven’t totally removed confusion under water it’s still there but only on illusions, I use confusion for aoe its easy to deal out stacks of confusion on many targets with 2 shatters in a row. And for bosses I just spam my staff clones and watch…

MW – Is good damage with a power build, but I find it most useful when you spec for the extra crit and also have some precision.
CoF – Is a god send when it comes to condition damage, I encourage my guardians to aoe pull all mobs when he can and the CoF shatter my illusions in there, the mobs hit themselves for 3.5k Dmg when they attack. And if you time it right with mirror image you can hit for an additional MW and place even more confusion on your targets.
Distortion shatter – I use this heavily in AoE fights, since most of your clones will be turned to dust by the aoe anyway… I’d rather shatter them myself and mitigate the incoming damage, then attempt to dodge and lose my endurance and illusions in the process.
The interrupt I rarely use since daze does not stack, so you best be aiming for multiple targets with your clones, interrupt is a finesse skill which is hard to land because of the travel time of the illusion to its target. I only use it with the 30 point trait that causes the shatter effect on me as well.

You keep talking about how you spammed illusions from behind a rock and “totally pawned noobs and stuff”. But Phantasms are not CLONES!…clones look like the player and deal no damage… good luck standing behind a rock and sending CLONES at your opponent in the hopes of winning a fight.

This thread is not about how the severely nerfed phantasms are OP, or mesmers are OP this thread is about how hard it is to tell CLONES from the mesmer. I already made a list for how to tell clones from the player and other useful and polite people added to that list.

If you feel a need to bash on the mesmer class for any other reasons then people not being able to tell robotic clones from the player please open your own thread or find the existing one if any related to your topic.

Hey Kasama, thanks for posting

I did roll a mesmer and played it….I was shocked that within the first round I was top on kills/score without knowing the class at all and it only got better from there to the point is was just super boring and to be honest, I felt dirty playing a class so unbalanced.

My main problem is that their clones look exactly like them, when you finally do target the real one and mark them, they pop decoy, or mirror image etc and the mark is dropped and you have to look for the original again.

That might not sound so bad, but when the clones are hitting you for most of your life it quickly becomes a problem. If the Mesmer is shatter spec as I mentioned ealier I was hit for 16k (Totaled between their clones, all of the damage happened at the same exact time).

These clones simply hit to hard, and provide to much coverage/support for the mesmer.

I’m just going to call BS on that, and request you upload a video with you calling your on name and a time stamp.

Not to mention your griefing your team by stealing resources for upgrade. I remember when I had a tower right in front of the spawn point of another server on a borderland and people would steal every resource possible do build more siege weaponry (had like 10 arrow carts for a keep !??!)… while only me and my guildies spent gold to upgrade that tower and escorting dolyaks only to have people take and take resources.

I don’t have a fix for this, but currently wvw is a mess because of people just being random and not working as part of a squad.

Trading Between Players?

Trading system:

Pros:

- Easy to trade with people you want

Cons:

- Map chat spam
- People trying to scam better deals
- Increase of prices in TP
- Increase of gem prices

Asking for a Trade system is basically allowing people to run around the TP system and the 15% tax which is a gold sink to keep the economy in check. Causing prices to increase for everything including gems. If your trading with a friend its actually more usefull to just mail the stuff to him.

Because if it has stats it should be soul bound. If you could have a weapon or armor that you can trade with your own characters that is one less weapon you have to either farm or craft which affects economy. While I do agree that it is one weapon and with a huge price that it will eclipse all the weapons you would’ve crafted other wise and is still a weapon with stats and should be soul bound.

Traveling is a money sink, money sinks exist to balance the economy.
If one money sink goes, TP prices increase for everything. My Bro-tip for reducing traveling costs is try using asura gates as often as you can, the price to teleport to a way point increases with your relative distance from it. Also I make an average 3 gold a day from 1 dungeon full explore run. And there is no way in Gods name I’m gonna travel 3 gold worth of money in one day.

This is a suggestion forum, where people come with suggestions to improve upon the existing gameplay. You are only requesting features to be removed and adding new BGs with no suggestions on how to improve the features you are discussing here.

At the risk of repeating what has already been said several times on these forums : I believe skill over grind was the announced philosophy for GW2…

So yeah, more meaningful activities for meaningful rewards.

Back up your sources when giving a quote. And grind has been removed from everything that requires you to get to end game. If you want anything else besides the max stats your character can have you will have to work for it, if that means farming dungeons or kicking people in the face at pvp. Hell you can even play pvp from level 1.

Legendaries are the same weapons with different skins for people to show off their dedication, if you do not have the dedication to do all that a legendary weapon requires and just want it for free or for “skill” than you probably don’t deserve it.

And on a side not… people complain A LOT… if one legendary would need something like the Mad king tower …they would start complaining that it is to hard. Or if another legendary required that you hold Stonemyst castle for 3 hours…again they would complain.

Look:

- Clones do not spawn with the same amount of health
- Only spam the first attack
- Attack with a reduced rate of fire
- Do not display titles
- Do not display explorer star next to name
- Do not carry an off hand weapon
- Receive a lot more damage
- Are static if not out of range or Issued a shatter command
- Do not dodge
- Downed clones DO NOT HAVE A BIG RED TRIANGLE on their head

Legendaries are not mandatory. And most legendaries require badges of honor from WvW, full exploration and badges from certain dungeons…which from what I’ve seen so far much of the people can’t actually obtain them cause they do not have the “skill” factor you seem to imply legendaries do not supply.

Was thinking it would be fun to have a JP like the clocktower but with some griefing features like kicking ledges off and pushing buttons to activate traps.

The are called WvW puzzles and are already in the game.

what if the timers scaled with the number of players in the zone?

This basically means if a person is leveling in a low-mid level area that is empty will have no events to actually help him level up or gain rewards

can you please add mounts into the game because it takes ages to get around WvW and around the world

It is supposed to be hard to get around WvW so waypoint upgrades for keeps actually have tactical and strategical value, while also making moving troops around a big decision. As for PvE there are waypoints everywhere, they are there is no need for mounts and contested points are not a reason for mounts they are there to encourage players to progress in the area and unlock them. Waypoints are a gold sink required to keep the economy of the game running.
