Make penalty for getting downed higher. What I mean is, when you get downed and get back up from a rally or friendly res, you should be a LOT weaker than you would be now. Think something akin to GW Death Penalty, this way the fights won’t stretch out to be a crazy whack-a-mole even if the losing team is completely inept and should actually die in a timely manner.

Don’t mistake few RG members running with a SFR blob to be the whole guild. I’m not sure if that’s entirely the case here, but it’s a possibility.
This thread is quite salty. But I think all the salt should be offered to developers, since they’re the ones that can actually make something about the ridiculous skill lag… I hope.
I suggest you make it so that you can color the tabard decoration and background color separately.
Yes, a very useless suggestion, I know.
Someone relay thanks to [WL] Charr elementalist for a great duel.
Hi,
Our group run into an issue with this particular boss encounter. For whatever reason, the interactable consoles that are supposed to be powered up with the tears, didn’t seem to work. We tried numerous times and took many unnecessary defeats for what seems to be a bug. We tried to use the tears with different party members interacting them and with the main console, nothing seemed to work, there was no response from any of the consoles with or without tears. Dungeon level was 15 and we did this encounter just before in our first batch of fractals, the mechanics were the same but they worked.
Anyone else had the same problem? Was there a solution?
My rams seem fine on memtest+ but I’ll have the benefit of doubt and test rams individually ingame. I do hope that it’s more of a gfx issue though…
I am still having this issue. I took out any little OC I had, tested rams individually on different slots and with different combinations and got no errors from several full passes. Is there anything I can still try without buying a whole new computer?
maybe your both of rams working non stable. repeat your test again if you can find a stable ram from your friends if not you can buy one for testing. but you must test your rams at game. I checked my rams with ramtest programs and thay didn’t find any error.
I checked my game with this way,
1. Use ram slot No:1 with ram and than log in game and enter 3W, played until crash
2. use same ram at slot No:2 , 3 and for same as step 1.after test other ram as above way and no any crash with this ram. I tried again first ram and crashing issue turn back. I removed this non stable ram from system and I use my healtly ram without any errors
Alright, thanks for the tip, I’ll try this.

Downclocking the ram worked for some people.
I just did that, they run 1600 MHz on default and now they’ve been running 1333 for couple of days, no change.

My only gripe with the Lost Shores was the big finale event and the first attack on LA. I’m thinking that they didn’t play out too well because of their grandscale combined with a lot of players. The premise was great and the events themselves were good but you need to consider to make events like these a little smaller scale or make specialized event overflows that house a lot less players than usually.
The puzzle was nice indeed and not too hard, I hope more of the likes in the future!
The dungeon seems very good and enjoyable with a group you know. I wouldn’t suggest PuGing since you’re going to come up with people that have no idea what they are doing. I’m sure there are exceptions but don’t count on them, try to find a core party you can challenge the place with.
I have done 5 fractals, 4 story mode dungeons, and a small handful of explore mode dungeons. All have been PUGs and all have been decent to very good experiences.
I didn’t deny for something like that to be possible, it’s just that you shouldn’t really expect this to be the case. Seemingly the original poster has had very bad experiences with PuG in this dungeon, he just needs to realize that things can and probably will work out less favourably in high end dungeon like this.

There are some skins I haven’t seen on Karma merchants, are they new or have I just missed some?
The respawn mechanic will make things really interesing in the later levels, it’s one of the things I’m very excited of. I can’t say much about the gear, they’re more powerful, but not by much.
It’s obvious how good of a platform for expansion this dungeon is. I think it’s highly possible that they will keep adding new fractals from time to time, it would be a waste to not to.
Got to fractal level 5 with our group for now. Very good design and mechanics, at least from what I’ve seen of all the fractals, really looking forward to see the difficulty kick in and make things challenging. Can’t wait to see what other good stuff is coming up with The Lost Shores!
It’s funny how you think the keeps are entitled to you already when you set out to assault them. This is how it should be, keeps shouldn’t be easy targets.
Not my point at all.
You should have a fighting chance.
Funny that you should think 6 or 7 people should be able to trivialize ownership of a keep vs 50+ people attacking.
If the AoE splash damage on bottle neck points inside a keep outweighs a organized and structured group of players, how is that working as intended?
Healing, was the only little bit of edge we had to push through this onslaught, and while you might loose 75% of your zerg smashing your faces on spalsh damage trying to take a keep, I can’t see it working like that anymore in bottle neck areas.
Create two pressure points on the keep, rather than just one. It’s your own fault if you accept that bottleneck, there’s more than one way to outer and inner keep.
Hills, one narrow corridor of death followed by the pit of despair if the sides are filled with siege as well. There are more chokepoints, but this is one of the toughest.
What I meant is that you should try assaulting from the other inner gate too. This is seriously way too little used approach. If you have the manpower and outnumber the enemy greatly, but still find it hard to advance because of the chokepoint, why not send portion of the team to try penetrate from the other side? You have the option of making their outmanned team divide and if they don’t, well, you just got your keep.

That healing was sometimes required due to the amount of seige weapons that plastered you.
Now, this removes all hope if trying to turtle your way up a corridor, bridge or bottle neck area where seige weapons are smashing you down.
You know what you do about siege weapons? You either avoid them or destroy them. You don’t heal through them.
Sorry for not having any sympathy with this nerf, but limitless healing was being abused on a ridiculous scale. Maybe now you will remember the sting of Arrow Carts barrages again.
I don’t think you fully understand the situation, if you can’t get to the seige weapons, how do you kill them?
May I suggest a well placed ballista, trebuchet or catapult to fix this situation?
Whatever, I’ll just adapt.
We all know about the downed state and it’s woes. We have known for a longtime and it will not change anytime soon.
Could I get a link? I haven’t heard of this yet.
I’d also like to point out that there is hardly a gear divide. Upon hitting lv80, the masterwork gear, 30s for a whole set, will do. Anyone can get these. Rare, less than 3g for a set, is mostly identical to Exotics except for a small insignificant difference in stats.
Now if you are referring to the gear divide between a lv10 and a lv80, that’s a different story. Still not a gear divide though.

Yes I do, they always try till the end, yet still fall.
I WvW all day, everyday and won’t be stopping anytime soon.
I wish you couldn’t even get badges from the puzzle. I mean, read the item name… Gift of Battle, you are hardly doing any battle if all you do is puzzle.
I live for the fight, what’s the reward if not the endless battle that keeps on going and throwing me in some really interesting situations from time to time.
I think I’m not going to spoil them, but there are “puzzles” that take you to high places in WvW…
What about these jumping puzzles that are around in WvW that give no reward? Has anyone found any “use” for them?
Sorry, but in my life, there’s hardly anything else than online games. This is an issue for me because of it, but thanks for the tip, even if it was halfhearted.
I guess that settles it, ladders will stay the same and the matching will keep on changing until all transferring guilds have done so. Which will probably continue forever.
Hi,
I’m wondering if anyone else is having trouble with choosing the colors to Human Tier 3 cultural heavy set. I can’t for the life of me find a good combination that I could run for long time, every combination I’ve tried will irritate me at somepoint in the line. I think it’s the contrast difference from the tabard and plate parts.
Indeed I was thinking body blocking only for PvP, in PvE, outside of all the major PvP activities it would be disabled. Having it on for PvP though would certainly add to the gameplay. But as many have said, I too am worried about how it would affect performance, especially in WvW. The calculations that are running about in the servers seems to be pretty taxing already, so I can understand the concern. Still, I would really like to know if this kind of gameplay element would be totally impossible.
Hello,
I was wondering if the implementation of body blocking has been ever thought of, and if not, why? Would it be too much of a resource heavy feature in this already quite resource heavy game? The reason I’m asking is because of it’s obvious gameplay elementric nature and how it would most likely fit in quite well in PvP/WvW situations, taking the gameplay and strategistic nature even further.
Hi,
I’ve earlier got this same problem but for some reason it only surfaced back after the latest patch (06/11/2012). Thing is that the game keeps crashing for ‘corrupt files in the archive’, I get the error report but I can’t understand it much. Is there anything I could try to check and fix to mend the issue? The crashes are very inconsistent and happen randomly.
Thanks for any help.
All I really want is more siege heavy, well… sieges. Capturing a tower or defending a tower is not very engaging at the moment. When big zerg can just bang the door down in minutes, it doesn’t feel all that impactful. I remember the first days when people were intrigued by all the siege weapons and used them for long time sieges and then people tried to combat them back with their siege.
Casual play? I’m no casual and I do my share of organized play. I just don’t deny every suggestion outright, I can see the positives and negatives of both.
Notes taken, makes sense but I don’t think trying it would hurt.
How is requirement to communicate more holding hands? Could you even give a well laid out thought about what does the sword icons bring into the game, positively? Everyone worth his salt is out there to do PvP so that point is hardly relevant.
@Arani
I disagree.
If your 80 man zerg is gonna take the Bay vs an outmanned zerg, that Bay is already lost. But the outmanned zerg could at the same time backstab 1~3 of your towers, making you rethink of stacking all your 80 people in 1 location or take the losses.
An outmanned server already has less territory so they can scout whatever little they have much faster.
But it gives them the chance to sneakily backstab the server with huge numbers unlike now where any chance of sneak attack gets insta zerged by 5x the numbers
Exactly this. Whenever there is a guild zerg available to a map, it’s only a matter of minute or two that they’ll pullback to zerg a small team off from a tower and go continue zerging keep down after. A zerg moves so fast it’s basically insane, speed boost on 24/7.
With no swords you could have 3 groups of 5-8 people attacking 3 different towers at the same time and if opposing team would just zerg, they would lose at least one.
This has been discussed before. It was a good idea then and it is a good idea even now.
Remove them to solve a lot of issues. They serve no purpose other than ease it up for beginners, but giving whole alot of another problems for everyone else.
I think it’s better. After seeing things play out without them, it’s so much easier to see how much of an advantage they gave, too much so.
No, just go through it in stealth.
Anet have already said that no other players time is more valuable than anyone elses, so limiting points gained by time is not an option.
Except then you’d have population imbalance regarding nightcapping against other servers, we have seen this already. Servers fed up with having less people at night went in and recruited a night presence, who are you to deny them that improvement?
I listen to Bach and Dvorak while doing WvW, true story.
Why don’t you do something about it? Recruit more night presence, problem solved.
