This needs to be French exclusive right!
You don’t need to communicate with a guild that works in WvW independently! You don’t necessarily need French speaking guilds in your server! You mostly need only one person with English skills to know what they are up to!
Seriously, you are just making excuses.
Remember this from Arena Net:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-world-of-choice-the-regions-of-guild-wars-2/There will be 3 major regional designations for the release of Guild Wars 2:
Europe: Defined as Western Europe and Eastern Europe. Players in these regions connect to the European datacenter.
North America: Defined as Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Players in these regions connect to the North American datacenter.
Other: All countries not already listed above will connect to the North American datacenter.
A more in-depth list of countries and their designations can be found in our knowledge base.
I’ll quote it too: "and customers in other areas may register either version.
After you successfully register your Guild Wars 2 account, it becomes a global account. You can roam to any part of the world and still access the game.
By default, we display the worlds that are hosted in your regional data center, but you will be able to select a home world from either region at this time. So, for example, if you are a European player who prefers to play on the North American worlds, you’re free to do so."
Give me a one good reason why localized server couldn’t have overseas guilds playing in it?
I would still just /bow.
The fact that everyone had to recruit to reach the top except VS does mean something, maybe they are less dedicated, maybe the language barrier is a disadvantage… in that respect VS is indeed special.
Yes, special in a way that they’ve had superior numbers compared to many other servers since the launch of the game. Now that Desolation for example went out of their way to fill their server with more WvW interested people from another timezone since not enough could be gathered from elsewhere, they’re being pointed out. A server steps up their game and gives you a challenge, please don’t act like some sort of victim because of it.
But in this discussion your side seems to be demanding for the other side to stop using their style of gameplay, the populating of timezones outside of EU, like it’s some sort of a crime.
It simplifies the whole WvW game, I don’t like simplification. But I have to deal with it, hopefully you will sort out something to it’s place.
If I would belong to a US guild that was looking for a different setting than the US bracket, I wouldn’t count out single language servers. Guilds communicate with their VoIP and guild chat, not the map/team chat. One person can relay the information of what said guild is going to do for the rest of the server, there’s no requirement to learn another language for the whole guild.
Very interested in seeing how it affects the gameplay.
I really cannot understand why FR/DE servers couldn’t recruit other timezones to help them out. You don’t need to communicate that much with them, just get them in for the times you cannot seem to be able to play and let them do their thing.
More toughness and crit chance is needed.
I got around 48% crit damage and you can count 15% additional crit chance on there from Right-Hand Strength trait. Superior Sigil of Bloodlust increases power quite a bit in the long run. Not sure how to go on from here, I’ve been thinking of getting more survivability but it seems like a bad tradeoff when I want to be sure to kill whatever I’m focusing on.
Downed state is not bad and doesn’t need to go, it just needs a little more. What I’d like to see is a stacking stat debuff for everytime you get downed, so when you’re downed enough, you’re going to have a hard time. It would encourage people to focus on staying alive instead of not caring enough what’s happening around just because they know they’ll get ressed soon. This would also make sure no zerg gets too much edge in fights since they’ll get weaker as long as they keep getting downed. Only defeated should remove the debuff and it should stay around like 10 minutes or more in active combat or not.
Not sure what people think about The Crossing on a guardian but I quite like it. :P
How do I go on about getting 250 Charged Lodestones? :P
Is there a difference on which hand you have the fire sigil?
Oh welp, database says tier 6 takes 250,000 kills to finish.
Yeah obviously some AoE heavy classes will have easier time with this. I’m playing guardian so I get kills from everything my sword hits, of course, I sometimes tend to take staff and just go on tagging everything when enemy zerg is fleeing.
Hard to say, I’ve done a lot of other things too and I’m at over 700 hours at the moment. If you do only WvW I could guess, depening on you success, 400-600 hours?
So to get to tier 5 it was 10,000 kills. Now that I’m here it seems like to get to tier 6, I need 50,000 kills. Seems a bit harsh and finishing tier 6 could be around 100,000 kills then? I guess I’ll play forever…
I’m quite surprised that noone has it yet.
Anyway, shouldn’t this topic be moved? We already know it’s not craftable.
Move it where exactly?
If it drops from a general boss chest, then I think we should have seen quite a bit of these already.
You need 100 coins, 250 lodestones, 250 sword blades and the scroll. Don’t have enough materials though so can’t say what it becomes.
I have a feeling that it’s like Final Rest, a boss drop. But it can’t be a general boss drop because then those would have been found plenty already. The harpies around Queensdale seem to wield the sword, but they obviously don’t drop it, nor anything relating to it. Is there any Harpy bosses around somewhere?
Any tips on this?
Only time I’ve witnessed ‘invisible’ zerg win is with portal trick. No running zerg has surprised me since the last update.
I guess I have something wrong with my head since I can have fun whenever I hop into WvW. Reward was never something I expected from it.
I’d first like to see some change from playerbase though.

I can understand it somewhat. But I don’t see any reason to complain about scoring if we are outnumbered. People need to get back on WvW, I don’t really understand why guilds stopped playing, it helps nothing at all and no point will be made. Get back to WvW, then contemplate on any scoring there might be.
Still focusing too much on the score.
Yeah very little hacks, also invisibility problem isn’t even that bad anymore and this is the time you choose to stop playing? Makes no sense.
Woohoo, missing last part (gloves) and I’m done. Been a bit tough since I’m not good at making money.
Is the Greatsword Power trait in the Zeal tree useful at all?
Why do whiners care about score? I don’t get it, if you enjoy WvW then you don’t stop playing it because of some silly score, you stop playing it because there is no enemy. But obviously there’s plenty of enemy around this time, so why sit back and cry like a kid? Get out there and do your best, the score means nothing.
If you have a queue, you have the manpower, use it and get back on top. Yeah, it’s hard and might not work out, but you’ll never know without trying. I’m happy that after a very bad start in our current tier (Desolation), we managed to get to at least on the 2nd place for now. With 48hr format, comebacks would be more hard to come by.
There was a camping guild with about 7 ballista and other siege weapons up there in the gate room when I went in today at one point. I got out and built a trebuchet just at the start of the puzzle, few hits and all their stuff was done for, got a few kills too.
Stop crying and deal with it.
Have I missed something but isn’t there already WvW focused titles to be grinded for? Adding more of them would destroy teamwork? Wut?
Sounds like some really good features coming up. I haven’t focused on sPvP as much as I would have liked yet, because I’ve been busy with other parts of the game. But seems like when I get my drive on for sPvP there will be more stuff waiting for me than now, great stuff.
They just need to stop shooting, but who ever does that…
I think this is a bug with all the cultural armors (at least). I have T3 Human Heavy armor and I cannot get the default colors on it by either using Remove Dye or actually applying the colors themselves from the palette, it always defaults to something else.
Time for a little update now that I’ve progressed with my quest for T3. Going with 4/6 pieces at the moment and I just can’t enough of the looks, great set!
Desolation needs a WvW focused alliance website for itself. You cannot plan and manage longtime strategies or guild shifts in the map/team chat. Also the guilds that play together need to get more enthusiasm to play for more than 2 hours, too many times I have seen good guild action killed off by after couple of hours since nothing seemed to happen. Don’t listen to the map/team chat for anything if you’re running with a guild, last time I saw some really good ideas of defending the supply camps so we could get them upgraded and people supplied for a push, only to be outcried in map chat to do something else and it worked…
And if you are working in VoiP with your guild, please for the love of god react to flanking zergs that try to ambush you. Telling people to precast AoE and throw reflections to a direction you think something (even if not visible) is coming is a lot better choice than to cry about it after a wipe.
Really agree with the orbs. If they were not this powerful, there would be no point in fighting for them at all.
Please fix, really annoying.
Don’t know about warriors but as a guardian, I can jump in, down 2-3 players and get out safely as long as I have my cooldowns. I don’t like waiting, I’ll shoot arrow carts if needed but sometimes it’s just better that someone goes in and makes a decent push.
From what I gather, at least the first (“auto-attack”) skill from weapons and evade roll works always, regardless if it’s laggy or not. I think some skills are just forced to go through server before actually letting it cast, as opposed to roll and evade.
Yeah, that’s one of the reason I find myself a lot more in the Borderlands these days, people don’t tend to mass into one objective (I’m looking at you SM).
Then is just the cheapness of the servers since, from what I gather reading the forums, DaoC had no problems with huge fights? It’s all just about the lacking servers?
So all the information about their position and type, that goes in and out, updates and changes, don’t affect server load? I’m not talking about rendering now, but to me it sounds like you’re saying that all these things that happen around in GW2 server should work perfectly and no lag is excused.
Explain to me, why it does not effect server performance? I’m waiting.
The servers do not render any graphics.
Then what is taxing the server?
Many things, positional data being a large one.
And nothing of these things, don’t relate to graphical complexity? Considering how many AE (Area Effect) animations and effects there can be around in a huge fight compared to DaoC, it still should perform the same?
