Will Ascended Weapons be added to the Guild Commendation item list when they release? Right now you can only buy Ascended Accessories with them. I myself have 94 Guild Commendation and have NOTHING at all to spend them on. I have 1 main toon and that’s all i really need. I have no alts to spend this currency on. Actually has anything new AT ALL been added to the Guild Commendation vendors?
This is sorta your “end game” content and it’s never updated with new things to buy that require huge guilds and team work to complete. Why not add the Ascended Weapons? Why make them Craft only….?
Why can’t we turn off Player name tags…Must i need to know the names of all 300 people during events or in LA at all times? What is the reason behind this and why cant we pick and choose to turn this off?

Really now, Stressful and unsafe? Hahahaha I have been a level 80 thief now for about 10 months. I really enjoy the class. I’m sorry if you feel unsafe and stressed out over a video game? Maybe you should….ummm….go outside for a few hours? Life outside a video game is great!

I guess ill reply to some of these comments. I maybe only opened a few chests in my time of playing and the rewards were very bad. I didn’t even think twice about the black lion chests until i seen this post from Anet.

I figured ok, i have extra money in my account and i like this game. Might as well show my support. Also thinking, ’Well since im spending real money on keys, maybe ill get something good in return?" That was maybe my fault. But still though, why make the drop rate on tickets and scraps so bad on chests when the regular drop rate on keys are horrible??
Thanks all. lol i did learn a life lesson. Just curious though. I been playing now for almost a year and the Black Lion keys seem to almost never drop. Is this on purpose? I’m just really confused why i never see them. I did get them on Story missions or Map completion and on some mob drops but maybe ever since Halloween it’s been unusually rare.

I figured well, i better buy some keys and try my luck for the Black Lion Ticket scraps. I bought 10 keys. Out of the 10 chests i got 3 Black Lion Ticket Scraps. I was super excited. I looked up the Black Lion Ticket Scraps on some wiki post and seen i need 10 for one skin…..I figured ok maybe that post was wrong. Checked another post and it also had 10.
So at the end of the week the “Cost will go up” are you out of your minds? At this rate, i would need to spend like $50 for keys since they NEVER drop. I mean like never.
I guess my question is. How many Scraps did you get on your chests? and how many chests did you open? Did i just run into some bad luck?
It’s called Guild Missions. Guild bounty Tier 1-3, Guild Rush, Guild Puzzles etc etc. Not sure why people forget about these. Maybe the guild your in has no clue how to do them? It’s all end game content. As for like Raids and stuff. Nothing.
Evolution and even changing things isn’t bait and switch. Do you even know what bait and switch MEANS. In no court of law would ANY of this be considered bait and switch.
It’s like a restaurant opening mostly with seafood and finding out that more people like steak, so they get rid of some seafood dishes and start serving more steak. People who used to like the seafood dishes stop coming. But that isn’t bait and switch that’s the evolution of a business. Those who like steak have no problem with it. Those that like seafood find another seafood restaurant.
People who continually bring up stuff that was said even before the game launched are the same people who bring up old arguments about what you did last year when the argument should be about what’s happening today.
People are still complaining about the dye system? Really?
How come you’re not listing how the original dye system was where you got a seed drop and you had to go to the NPC in your home instance to grow that seed and you could only grow 1 per day, unless you spent money in the cash shop to buy plant food. Oh I know why you didn’t comment on that change. Because it didn’t prove this point you’re trying to make.
The old dye system was MUCH worse than the new dye system, even if those dyes would have been account bound. But you ignore this in your argument. Instead you point out one article, written by one employee before the game was actually released. In the beta, the plant food thing, with the seeds, that was in the game…and Anet changed it. But get this. They changed it FOR THE BETTER.
So the dyes are not account bound anymore, but you don’t have to buy plant food to see what dye you got, if you want to do more than one dye a day.
This is an MMO. MMOs evolve and change all the time. Keeping a list of all the times Anet made a change to the game should be longer.
Are you also advocating that they said there would be energy potions in the game and there are not energy potions in the game. Why isn’t that on your list. I’ll tell you why.
You want to pick on the things Anet changed that you don’t like, without balancing it out by listing the things Anet has said that they’ve changed that people do like. Here’s another example.
Colin said straight out there would be no way to walk in the game only run. He said that it’s a quote. And then, due to people complaining, Anet added walk. It was a lie, right?
How about when Anet said there would be no way to change eye color that they couldn’t do it. And then Anet put changing eye color in the game, again due to the outcry from fans. How come that’s in your list. Anet said one thing but they did something else.
All MMOs evolve and change. Energy potions, eye color, the ability to walk instead of run are some examples and I can find probably dozens more.
If this is all Anet “lied about” in the years since the game’s inception, they have a pretty kitten good track record.
And I don’t see this thread as productive, just something that will start arguments for no reason. I think the mods should close it.
Hmmmm i’m not sure you know what bait and switch really means you cant say “Mostly” and have a valid point. I was reading this post and got so kitten ed off that i had to log in and reply. So, what your saying is that when i get an add in the paper for a Business saying “Sea food! all you can eat” i go to that Business sit down and the waiter tells me “Sorry sir, the sea food is 1 dish only” Then i say, wait in your Paper it said “All you can eat sea food” so i should (according to you) just get up and go to different business that sells sea food????. Your missing the real point to Bait and Switch. The BAIT part is to get you to play and promise you all this ‘Really new and cool stuff that no other MMO does’ and the SWITCH part is them changing the process when you INVEST your time with there product. I’m sorry but your Logic is totally and completely wrong.

This topic has been raised heavily over recent days in my guild; whether or not the temporary content we are seeing in Guild Wars 2 is actually a good or bad thing. There was also the wider discussion as to whether what is being delivered can actually be considered ‘content.’ Or more a quick dollar. I feel it’s some sales tactic. “Here Ye’, Here Ye’ come and get your Temp Content, only will last until July. Better play while you can because once it’s gone..It gone!!!”
I believe this current approach isn’t necessarily the best. It’s kitten ing more and more people off.

So wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in Fed ( I think?) was this guild missions patch. It’s May 16th and still, no smaller guild missions, in fact not even mention at all. Back in March on this very website it had it had the tag “New Rewards!!!” It also said “Last month we rolled out our new guild missions, open-world content specifically created with guilds in mind” Hahaha really now?

“Extending guild missions isn’t limited to just content. We aim to improve rewards as well. To that end, a completely new set of weapons has been commissioned and made available at the Guild Commendation vendor”
Your right Anet. Extending guild missions isn’t limited to just content it’s Limited to just smaller guilds.
Any word on when smaller guilds will have access to Missions? Or did you forget about us :/

Hobbies are a good time-sink, whether you are max level, or just want a change from questing.
I’d add decorating a house to that too. I’ve spent many happy hours decorating my houses in past games.
Yeah i agree, some type of Hobbie besides crafting. it seems like crafting is in every single game even offline games now. It’s getting kinda old.

I guess some are missing the point? Anyone can jump in the water now and kill random fish and get fins or Scales, same goes with heart quests for “Hunting”. I’m talking about it’s own Unique Trait. Like in the Menu have another Tab saying “recreation”. Maybe have it so you can only take 2 recreation’s at once.
For hunting maybe have Unique Hunting guns and a “Hunting ground” filled with wild Life. Some areas would be prefect for this.

I know you guys can’t really give to much away but will we ever see types of recreation other then crafting? Alot of zones have water so maybe fishing? Buy different types of Rods and Lures. Maybe have a Trophies System and Fishing games or maybe have a guild flower bed that can grow different type of plants. Alot of zones already have the water and forests for this type of stuff.
Just some ideas im throwing around. What do you guys think?
Yep same issue. The odd thing is that the zone Diessa Plateau has all dirt covered objects but the zone Wayfarer Foothills didn’t have a single Snow Covered object. At least 20+ people asked about the issue in game and everyone was confused. Im on the server dragonbrand if you try to guest.
i know so far Stormbluff Isle and Tarnished Coast are the same way almost.
This patch is so awesome that im contemplating uninstalling the game.

The 40 Laurels and 40 glob’s are just pointless to even try for. To get 40 Laurels will take months. Or just do the easy mode with 5G and 12 Guild Commendation. Good one Anet.
Thanks for adding this. No really. You just made the 40 Laurels + 40 Glob of Ectoplasm pretty much pointless to get. Not to mention it will take months to get 40 Laurels. What goes through your guys minds? If you was to buy 40 Glob’s it’s around 12G (on my server at least)
So again, the rule is. MAKE SURE your on the same time your guild is doing missions or miss out on easy mode to get Ascended Earrings. Good one Anet.
So I been playing this game since launch and I have used the “Looking for group” for awhile now while soloing. Every time I have checked the list literally no one is “looking for group” Since you guys “monitor” game activity (Coming from the post about everyone waypoint rushing in dungeons) Do you guys plan on maybe making this tool more useful?
I’m in lions arch right now and not one person is “looking for group” maybe it’s just my server? Bad luck? Does anyone else use this tool? Will this tool maybe be used for a Dungeon finder or maybe to enter a queue to party up for a dungeon or big events? Some info I guess would be nice.
Just do the insanely popular FOTM dungeon!!! Just kidding. What i did was cut down trees and farm Ore. Sell everything you get in the tradeing post and you’ll get your 1g easy. Most copper ore goes for like 9-14c per piece. They sell really fast as well, prob within a few hours of posting.
I have noticed that since FOTM release the Cursed Shore has been empty, like a hand full of people in the zone. No one running the dungeon, events etc etc. It’s a ghost town. Last night a few people where in the zone but nothing like it was. I looked in LA and seen the area is still in overflow and people spamming with “FOTM Level 21 LF1M” etc etc.
I’m busy with my day to day business but i looked online and seen all the threads about how FOTM ruined the game. I do believe this. I remember seeing videos and listening to these guild wars 2 developers saying how the dynamic events are really fun and how they want to act how the game world is alive etc etc.
Now that FOTM is in LA (No real zone with mobs) you have hundreds of people sitting in town shouting for groups while all the events OUTSIDE are going on being ignored…Which cause people like me to not take part in because there isn’t enough people… I’m a little upset about this since i invested all my time and some money (I bought some gems) on this game and it’s turned into a 1 dungeon grind fest.
Please reconsider this dungeon. It’s made the outside world of LA a ghost town….
