100% this.

Tools are helpful for the community, but also detrimental in the side-effects they cause. Instant gratification causes people to expect instant gratification. The amount of immature entitlement that soon follows, and makes others start acting the same is unbearable.

Communication forces people to be civil. If not, their negative personality is not welcome, and they can’t leech. If communication is taken away, the worst types of personalities are able to hide in a sea of randomness. Taking a few moments to talk makes people respect each other ever so slightly. A subtle psychology that keeps things social, just by having to talk, instead of running together like silent robots.

Melee PVP combat is HORRIBLE

There is not enough info here, nor any suggestions to work on.

But also, as Deboog said, flaming someone just because you Searing have a different experience is not helpful to anyone, and it is just trolling. You don’t know what problems the OP had in melee. (frankly, none of us do)

It is either helpful to not post at all if you are going to be like that, or ask questions to get to the bottom of the issue, or post your own examples of why you do or do not see any problems.

From the description, it sounds like they have a problem with people walking through their attack while the camera bugs out flipping around to auto-follow the target. In which case, I have that same issue and would love the camera to stay far enough back that it isn’t making the field of vision disappear into a super close up. It is usually because the camera is getting stuck on something nearby, like a wall or post, and being “pushed” forward and ruining our view.

Or the only other issue I can think of is being in a melee animation, and the person is moving, and you can’t have your animation follow along to cause damage. You are stuck in the direction you started the animation in. But this is only with a few melee moves, and seems part of the natural flow.

WvW: Gold should NOT be tied to PVP.

Burning our Karma and Supply should be enough of an incentive to keep us playing smart. Using Gold is just about which side is more willing to pay to win (worse case scenario). Whoever has the side with the better amount of 80s and organized guilds pulling off exploits to get more gold per hour, wins.

It’s fun when it’s balanced. Even if you are losing. It isn’t fun when you just see the other side spamming the map with siege and they win because of it. It isn’t fun when you know what the “organized” guilds are doing to get money to throw at wvw.

Going from a level 30 Story Quest to a level 48 ( skipping the story line!! )

I was perturbed by the “sorry, but we won’t be able to fix this” response, simply because I was expecting a “this may take a lot of time” response. But I was thrilled when it changed to “we will be working on a solution”. I don’t read any guarantees, but I am happy they are reevaluating how important it is to us.

Time is not an issue. It is a no-sub game. We paid once, and patches will fix the issues. I understand not everyone will share my opinion, but it is cold logic. Waiting a few days for the Trade Post, or Gem Purchase, or an account to be un-hacked (which let’s face it, hacked accounts are almost 99% users fault), while not losing out on a paid service (since we pay nothing) is great. (the other big game out there with a sub had these types of issues for months after release, while we paid)

My point is, in less than 24 hours, our feedback received a more concrete response. They listen. They may have higher priority concerns, and this one might have moved up a bit more, because they listen.

But, I won’t be touching my Story unless solo. Sad, but that’s how it’ll be.

Friends List Deletes Nicknames [BUG]

The Friends List resets the names we assign to people to remember who is who. This happens almost every patch, every reset, etc. The list still holds the Account Name, but the other names we give are lost.

Also, some people only appear as three dots for their account name, and often show no information about who they were at all. They appear as “…”.

Trading Post listings only show 10?

C, you can only see the 10.

Which is why so many are unsure if they lost money/items for real, or if they lost track of what was going on.

I really hope we dont have to start over in order to fix the bug. I put alot of work into my character between crafting, map completions and getting the level 35 culture armor.

Seems like there should be a way to fix this.

If ArenaNet can’t fix characters, surely they can refund those who re-roll a character? As in, give us the materials we used to craft, the money we had gained, and whatever special items we earned. So we start over as level 1 again, but we can quickly re-level our crafting and have our Dyes back, etc. The only thing we need to re-do is the PvE content.

I think it is a valid choice to offer, and would take time to prevent abuse, but that surely could be done.

Will we have to remake characters to fix story issues?

I’m curious if I should quit the game for a few months, and come back “when it’s ready.”

Because I don’t want my character to become corrupt, if there is no way to fix it, and no plan to add a fix for later. The Story should be repeatable just because of these types of issues, which were destined to happen. It was why all MMOs have a way to reset quests….

When clicking the buy button, the money is taken right away even if the transaction doesn’t succeed. You can lose a lot of money trying to buy popular items like crafting materials because you click buy and the item was already bought by someone else. so you lose money and never get your items.

Money should only be taken if transaction succeed, never before.

The money should be refunded to you in the Pick Up Order tab. It means you and another person bought close together in time, and you were beat. If the money is taken, and doesn’t show up in the Pick Up Order tab, then it could be lost, but most likely is only delayed.

Hard to keep track because the system is not letting us follow along. So some might be losing money while others only thought they lost money. Then ArenaNet has more work to do because of the false reports. The UI needs to be sleeker and more informative (I’m liking it so far, but there are still too many issues).

I’m buying Copper Ore at 17 copper each (200 total | 34 Silver) and then selling them at 20 copper (200 total | 40 Silver). Which should be 6 Silver difference minus 2 Silver listing fee, for 4 silver profit. However, after I sell 200 copper ores at 20 copper each, I only make 36 Silver (For 0 net profit). Where did all the money go?

There is a 5% fee for listing. Then a 10% fee after the sale. Meaning, you need to take into account 15%.

So if you are selling at 40 silver, the list fee is 2 silver and the 10% cut of the sale is 4 silver. So it cost 6 silver overall. You would need to list higher to make a profit.

This info is on the Wiki, but IS NOT on the Trade Post. So there is no way for many to know, until they learn the hard way.

I agree with the 15% cut, because it does keep inflation in check (people trying to drive prices up need to do it in such a large amount, they risk their profit). So the market keeps a natural balance and takes money out of the economy. But, I don’t agree AT ALL that people do not know this up front. The post should tell people how much a cut is being taken, before hitting Submit.

Currently, I can only see “what I’m buying” and “what I bought” and “what I’m selling” to a max of about ~10 items. There is no way to look past those items for the full list.

There is an issue with not being able to see if a Buy Order, or a Purchase Order, or a Sell Order has disappeared. I can’t tell if it is my perception, since some things come late, but it seems I’m missing things I’ve bought, and money from things I’ve sold.

Example. I buy herbs in stacks of 75 or 150. I ended up getting a partial order completed (only 68 or 122, or another non-round number). The rest of the Buy Order has disappeared from the page that shows me pending transactions waiting to be fulfilled. But, my money is not returned. It just vanished. So I bought at the full price for 75 or 150, but only get a lesser amount, and the future Buy Order for the difference vanishes.

I can’t be sure though. It’s hard to keep track when things come late and you can’t see what you are still ordering, because it is only showing the latest items. My uneven herb numbers could be from looting in the world, and I didn’t notice, so my memory is thrown off. But at the same time, I should be above my ordered stack in numbers then, not below.

I think a possible solution would be to let us see our transactions into the system, out of the system, and the money that has come and gone, for a long set of time. And which character we accepted the money (and/or item) to, and which character the money (and/or item) left from. This way, the player can see that everything worked as intended, and know they already looted their profit from the TP, but maybe on an alt.
