This is an excellent legendary. But it also doesn’t tie in very well with certain looks, that the player may wish to maintain. The pinkness and tassels tend to be in direct contrast to, say, a dark themed thief.
Just like Sunrise has the opposite Twilight I hope to suggest ‘The Dreamer’ gets ‘The Waker’.
The Dreamer reminds me of Lady Rainicorn who if you aren’t familiar with, she can shoot laser rainbows and phase through objects. Click link for video.
So I hope to get a Lord Monochromicorn version, who is the gender-bender version of Lady.
Imagine the possibilities….
I did this (or something else at Claw Island) with a guild mate. The enemies non-stop spawned at the beach, where we are supposed to revive a Captain or Commander NPC. The ghost ship kept launching poison AoE and waves and waves of mobs never stopped spawning.
We were able to finish by one doing the rezzing while the other kited forever. But it didn’t seem working. It seemed choppy and buggy.
The part where we attack the ghost ship with trebs was bugged too. The ship didn’t seem to be taking hits, but then suddenly sank.
Not sure if it is the same mission (as I never caught the name), but if it is, that’s what happened.
theres only 1 rare material
its called glob of ectoplasm
Hey! i’m glad you are literate and read what i wrote. Oh wait you didn’t.
To add on to that literacy issue you are having, it says “rarer materials”.thanks for the extremely productive comment.
Your thread is valid, but I wouldn’t get emotional over replies from people that are confused. It was clear that one person was confusing (and still is) the difference between ‘salvaging’ and ‘drops’. They combined two separate subjects into 1 incoherent argument, which should just be ignored. (doesn’t apply to anything you said, so why say ‘WTF’ to anyone about it?)
Insulting them is uncalled for, and makes a proper subject look like a childish argument.
Thank you for the research. Having numbers to backup observation helps.
why is this topic blank?
It was bugging out for me as well.
I can’t see the posts suddenly…. this thread only has a title, and then a reply box. And nothing more…. EDIT: The tabs for page 1 and page 2 disappeared, until after posting.
But before it disappeared, yes, I’ve noticed that Salvage Kits are broken. 50% chance from the Gem Store kits (I have gotten from the Dailies) doesn’t do anything at 50%. It’s a waste of gold/gems/money to chance on something clearly not working as the description states.
Any updates about this issue? It affects Orr, WvW, and Cities. It’s a game breaking issue. I can’t do major chunks of content because of how the most important aspect (the enemy) renders last.
I’ve seen tons of videos and screenshots, but haven’t found an ArenaNet response. I’ve found responses to other issues, along the lines of “be patient as we’re looking into it” which is a relief as it is acknowledged as not intended. But not for this invisible enemy issue.
It is obviously not intended, but is it considered how it will be? Is this the type of bug that is just accepted as part of the game?
Happens on IoJ server as well.
You reported it two weeks ago…. and we still have it. (I’m ignorant, and thinking it is a simple fix with making the friendly NPCs immune to friendly skills that are supposed to only target enemies)
It’s an exploit. You can do it to NPCs in WvW for benefit of your team. You can do it in Dungeons. Think outside the box, and you can imagine all the different exploits.
Search brings up too many irrelevant posts. That’s a separate issue.
Moderators can always merge threads and sticky them when they are over-reported.
It’s a bug. He eats items, so it is a gamble until fixed.
It is supposed to reduce shield skill recharge by 20%. The tooltip changes fine. The skills do not. Still at the long CD and trait does nothing.
I’m now 100% sure, that when I’m downed as my Engineer, I’m unable to target mobs periodically. No clue what makes them untargetable. It is often enough of a bug to cost me.
You also can’t target anything to your side or behind you. If you fall while the enemy mobs are behind you, you just sit there until dying. The engineer will not turn to attack. It does nothing.
Another bug while downed is not doing damage to targets. Their health is locked at a certain amount, and there is no way to rally (even though it is obvious I should have).
The third bug is killing an enemy, and not rallying. You have them targeted, you finished them off, and you’re still laying on the ground.
“t r u s t f u l” should not be trukittenl
Finally, I know what it means.
GW2 is an absolutely gorgeous game with a completely HORRIBLE camera. seriously, there is no excuse for going live with such a terrible camera system in place.
example: Arah, the flying ship scenario. the camera passes outside the ship blocking all view of what’s going on with your character, and instead is showing you the hull of the ship. you CAN NOT see your character at all. you have to spend 75% of the time fighting the camera just to play the game. which begs the question: was this even tested in beta?
lol, no. No it wasn’t tested in beta.
Beta only tested the 1-15 zones, 15-25 zones, and Gendarran Fields. Ascalon Catacombs were also available to those who leveled to 30.
No other zones, dungeons, skill points, events, hearts, etc. were tested by beta players. An internal team under NDA did that testing.
Hence….
It is sometimes hard to understand what someone means when ‘Kitten’ is used over normal words. It will take two words like “wish” and “it” and combine them into one sloppy word like “wiKitten”, and all meaning is thrown out the window.
“I wish” and “it reset” is not a swear word Anet. This immature “language” filter is not funny anymore.
It resets at midnight GMT. Which is 8pm east coast, 5pm west.
I had my Monthly. But due to glitches, I’ve missed my Daily sometimes. I wikitten reset only if you made the goal, otherwise, it should carry over the progress.
Please fix underwater combat. I’m sure you are getting many complaints, so mine will be no different.
But the issue fresh in my mind is Immune mobs for no reason, every few seconds, around the Orr zones. You’re still in combat with the mob, and they are “Immune” and healing to full out-of-combat, but they will unglitch and attack you. Lose-lose situation.
You can decide to just leave them alone and go to the next, but that is impossible, as they will re-engage with you. Plus, the other glitches with the zones (insane re-spawn rate, bugged events, etc) make the mobs immunity all that more deadly.
(edited by Hsinimod.5784)
It’s too high. It’s so blatantly obvious it is too high. Been reporting the same issue since April.
Individual players shouldn’t be fighting a constant stream of enemies non-stop. Ever.
Zones in question, all three zones around Orr. And many others that people are reporting. Please fix this sooner than later, or reward us greatly to offset the difficulty.
My patience lasted a month. Seeing the same stuff reported over and over and over and over and over (see the pattern?) and then not having any fixes or any word….
The skill points, we reported them in April during the first beta open to the public. April. Same skill points. Never fixed.
I understand it can be hard reproducing the issue to understand how to fix it, but now they have thousands of points of data… Plus, if they never fixed it the first hundred times we reported it, I don’t see why they didn’t do a more thorough beta to get the info they needed for known issues…
“When it’s ready” I took at face value. I expected bugs, but I expected quality fixes too.
Every map from level 40 on is broke. Underwater combat—broke. Mobs being immune, healing, while you stay in combat, and then they reaggro and kill you—broke. Respawn rates—broke.
Sad thing is, this was reported. And we would have reported the higher maps, had they been open for testing.
I’m finding Orr to be a mess. If this zone was a starter/early zone, I’d never have bought the game. It’s that much of a mess. And that much an indicator of how not fun the game becomes.
It’ll become fixed (partly) at some point. But it’s highly difficult to not become frustrated when you want to like something and play it, but your patience finally ran out.
Well… you shouldn’t be getting hit that much. I don’t mean dodging, I mean, you should be moving so that you are rarely being hit. And after you are hit, someone else is the one “tanking”. You trade threat with your group. You blind, knockback, knockdown, block, heal, etc.
With the whole group doing it, it is quite easy.
The problems with dungeons are the balance though. Mobs get/have a Defiant boon, that make them immune to crowd control. This is needed to prevent total lockdown of the mobs, but it is executed poorly.
The group doesn’t know about the Boon, because the game does absolutely nothing to explain it. So when you save a Crowd Control ability to save yourself or a teammate, it typically won’t do anything at the moment you needed it most.
Blocks though are 100%. Which means certain professions are ‘better’ than others.
Players don’t have control over their skills in dungeons. ArenaNet needs to let players see how the Defiant boon functions more explicitly—how it builds up and goes down—so the player can control their skills. A secondary ‘health’ bar that is just for how close a mob is to ‘immune’ would greatly help. Or something along those lines.
Right now, if you know how Dungeons work, they are stupidly easy. And if you don’t, they are impossibly hard. They do little to nothing to guide the player in that transition.
I left my personal story alone. I leveled to 70 before starting it.
But I got a letter at levels 30, 40, 50, etc. (or 35, 45, 55, etc. I forget) by “Your Herald” telling me of the dungeons. The letter is trigger by level only. Maybe you deleted them by mistake/oversight when deleting the Heart letters?
The other thing is, your Personal Story will also tell you about the Dungeons. Sometimes implicitly, and sometimes explicitly. This is triggered when you are going through the story.
Sometimes, you get multiple letters. It’s like “we know you been ignoring this place, so here are more hints to get over there.”
It just feels sloppy and clunky. We have all the tools, but we cannot build up the tools we may wish to use. Many options are just not viable.
If you play in certain styles, you’re fine. If you wish to branch out, you may find you are weak at anything you do (compared to others).
My main issue is, personally, when I try to make it all about Condition Damage, it is lackluster at best. The duration and/or damage just is not the same as if I do it on another profession. I love Pistol/Shield, but Rifle is just so much better for my playstyle. I feel pushed into ways of play I don’t favor.
The healing turret is not really great. You only get your healing bonus off them when you drop the turret. The regen is bad because it’s based off the turret’s own healing score of 0, and you get the lowest possible healing ever.
Don’t use healing turret in group play, either. It overrides everyone else’s regen effects, which means they lose a lot of regen if they are slotted for healing.
Sounds like a horrible bug that needs fixing.
Picking up a turret out of combat makes it have no cooldown, picking it up in combat keeps cooldown as it is now. Best fix possible with much less room for exploiting.
If you lower the cooldown on picking up turrets, healing turret would be completely overpowered.
^ this is beautiful.
Out of combat, turrets when picked up should have no cooldown.
The drops are the zone’s level and your level. So you end up with trash and possibly useful items. It’s a mix. So I understand.
Plus, I out-leveled the zones quickly as well. That then forces me to decide between finishing the content (and getting crap money and karma rewards) or go to my appropriate level zone and get real money.
Every repair and waypoint scales to your level, not the zone you are in. So you get rewarded copper but it costs nearly 2 silver to repair or waypoint.
It makes repeating earlier zones a timesink that rewards very little. It’s fun when you want to do it. But not fun when you have in the back of your head all the karma, money, and materials you are not getting that you need for ‘endgame’. Or to finish your craft.
Everyone I know (everyone) gave up crafting until they hit 80, and now are catching up. Crafting will not be useful on your main. At all. It’s useful for alts, or at 400. Nothing much else.
Cheaper (by tons) to just buy upgrades off the TP and never craft. Only craft for the 400 goal. It’s not great to not be able to play the way you want, but it is the situation of the game.
Items naturally rise and fall to what they are ‘worth’. If supply is high, then the materials are junk and on the TP at vendor values. If the supply is low, then the items are listed as expensive.
If people are buying them for that much, then that’s where they are at.
The system is only broke if people are buying gold from the gold sellers. That causes the economy to inflate, without it being kept natural in-side the game. That creates a situation where it’s more cost effective to use a third party gold seller.
Most of us don’t. So the ones that do (and who get away with it) they clearly get ahead of the rest of us, and benefit in doing so. We are punished doubly, by having to grind more to offset the cheaters, or pay more cash for gems than we would if we cheated.
Thanks. I like that idea as well.
Really, there are too numerous an amount of solutions. Just hope Anet comes up with one, and adds it.
Seems like a nice fix to the Gifts of Exploration problem too. (years down the line, when you want to gear up alts, you are limited by never being able to get more than 2 Gifts per character)
Bit late….
But yeah, the customization in PvE is lacking. The inconsistency makes it worse.
ArenaNet needs to add the ability to craft/buy/etc the missing stat combinations. I can’t fathom how the quality control team didn’t add any feedback about the missing customization.
Currently, you get 2 Gifts of Exploration when you hit 100% map completion, and then…. that’s it. Off to an alt if you want more.
I think there needs to be an expensive/time-sink way to make more, on the same character. Something like a Mystic Forge recipe that requires you to unlock the world again to gather an item, like a map, and you need multiple maps to forge 1 Gift of Exploration.
If you only have 5-8 characters, that’s 10-16 legendaries you can make. Yes, it takes a long time to gather materials to make 1, so why would we need that many? Who would actually try?
But I think many are going to aim for having their character have their main weapon sets covered. Example, a Guardian might make the Greatsword Eternity. But they might want to work on their Sceptor and Shield next. So they use an alt and use the next two Gifts of Exploration for the Guardian.
But then they want their alt, say an Elementalist, to have the Staff and two daggers. So they work on a new alt (plus another alt for the third Gift) to gear up the Elementalist alt. Rinse and repeat.
They are running out of Gifts, and running into a dead end. The last alts are not going to have any.
Unless there is another way added in-game to gather something to craft more.
So not suggesting anything easy. I am suggesting to give us an option to continue on.
I can see where you are coming from. But I don’t agree.
I mean, GW1 was really really really corny. The dialogue, the drama, the voice acting, the buggy cinemas. It was a mess.
You had to look past it and pretend really hard that it was not so…. generic. Not the story (that was great) but the execution of the story.
Maybe you placed GW2 too high on a pedestal, and it didn’t live up to expectations? Hence the whining for whining’s sake.
I don’t think Chaz was insulting you. I think he was just pointing out that is looks like nit-picking (which I do about the horrible clipping issues).
I find the personal story really involving. I know the characters, even if no one else does. I met them, and it makes sense that only I know them. Some of the animation is as choppy as GW1 (the White Stag storyline for the Sylvari, as you just stand there for no reason while the enemy runs away…. wtf?)
But it’s just little things. I hate Logan. But I must admit, he was ‘real’ and not as one dimensional as I would have pegged him.
Opinions differ, so not meaning to knock anyone else’s. And I can relate somewhat. But maybe hearing another perspective will shift a view?
(PS: Fix the clipping) lol
Yeah… it is a bit of a pain in the rear to have content bust for days without a permanent fix.
Farming stuff is…. just aggravating. I want to get, say, Blood for armor and weapons I want to make. But the farming code kicks in, so I’m forced to do a circuit and farm crap I don’t want while getting the 1 item I’m going for.
Then I need to sell the items I got (most everything is vendor trash) and then buy the actual item I wanted to farm. The whole point of farming is to get an item for yourself and not need to play the market game.
I’m grateful ArenaNet says we shouldn’t need to grind. But I’m ungrateful they are choosing my playstyle for me, and not letting me have the option to do what I want to do.
A simple thing of fixed drop rates becomes a convoluted mess. Then it backfires and punishes people by denying legit rewards—like the Tokens bug.
It’s hard not to picture resources being spent in the wrong area. But I’m slightly sure (not by much) that the team working to fix the events content are not the ones messing around with drop rates and rewards…. so I’d hope it is not interfering with fixes coming. I’d hope. lol
@Sojou My reasons for traveling the cost effective way aren’t relevant to this thread.
Neither is your reply.
It’s completely relevant. You are complaining about the time it took to travel from A to B, because you chose to go from A to C to D to E to B. Then you are eluding that your Dad lost interest in the game because it took so long.
Which is the point of this thread. It is free to do already, and it would be stupid to pay money for something that is free. And no one is psychic, so how could he/she know their dad would lose interest seeing all the loading screens (which is an accurate representation of the game) until after it happened.
Chiming in that they should have spent money after the fact is just… it comes off like a jerk to someone who was simply doing what any normal player would do.
This is NOT a suggestion regarding the excessively high cost of waypoints so please don’t make this a discussion about lowering the cost, money sinks and what not…
I don’t know if it’s intended (I really hope that it is), but traveling to Lion’s Arch is always free cause you can access the Heart of the Mists from anywhere and go through the Lion’s Arch portal. By extension, traveling to any major city is free through the Asura gates in Lion’s Arch.
So… all I’m asking is that you save me the loading screens and make traveling to any waypoint in any major city free.
This is so much common sense. I love it.
Spending time in loading screens is not fun. Going to cities free would be a great convenience that we already have, but in a clunky manner.
Rizzy has the right idea, but also is declaring only one correct playstyle.
I find my turrets are fine. I expect them to break at a certain point, and they last long enough for when I use them. But they are VERY weak.
Compare to Mesmer clones. The clones are supposed to be easy to destroy, or do weak damage. But they can take quite a few hits while dealing great damage. And they are on a SHORT cooldown. Simply Amazing.
Now take Engineer turrets. Point for point, strengthening turrets does not not come close. The cooldown is high, mobility non-existent, damage is decent (but I wouldn’t call it great), and their defense is nothing.
They are still a wonderful utility. But they require micromanagement. It’s great and easy to get used to. But once you realize the ease of another profession to generate that same utility… you begin to wonder if there will be an incoming buff to turrets at some point.
My take on it.
It a social problem to be dealt with within the guild. Not by taking away options.
We ‘lost’ half our members. But that is our own fault because our members are doing different activities with little overlap, except at our peak time.
If ‘hopping’ was taken away, you’d still have people join, stick around a few days, and then leave. It’s a social issue. People want to feel involved right away, without the work of talking. Old members need to socialize outside their circles, and new members need to socialize—period.
I support a character re-customization option as well. I have played some other games recently that have a similar system to the gem store, they typically do one of two things; you can purchase a character re-customization token for a fair amount of ‘gems’ or using in-game currency like gold, silver, or copper to purchase character re-customization from a local shop (usually this option would cost a smaller amount). I typically prefer the second option since it is usually cheaper and allows players to make customization to their characters more often.
Hair style should be an in-game change, with the cost of in-game currency.
Everything else, should be gems.
Just my opinion. Because of clipping issues for one, and ‘realism’ for two. Hair is such a simple thing, but the only body feature that clips badly on certain sexes and races.
I think it’s safe to assume they’ll add it at some point. It’s one of those things requested constantly before the game’s beta was even revealed. They know they can get money from it. They know we like it. It’s a win-win.
It probably was just decided to be a project for later. The game’s release and patches come first. Having the ability to change appearance at release would have created more bug reports and support tickets at a bad time.
I want to change my eyes on my Charr. But I can wait 6 months or whenever. Hopefully it’ll be something announced sooner than later. =)
You get minimal XP and increase your own chance to die. Also, the event counts your contribution less.
^ that.
I don’t resurrect others unless it’s clearly safe and won’t affect me at all. Meaning, I know I’m getting Gold reward.
When there are times that people are falling, and I could easily be saving them, but I don’t know if I’ll get punished…. well, too bad for them. I need to make sure I hit that Gold threshold. I need the Karma.
If I was rewarded for saving people, I’d do so. But I’m rewarded for staying alive and letting others take the risk, while I get Gold.
Then the world would be filled with drops that only one profession can use. It’s the exact opposite of what the game follows.
Also, for every person that can’t understand why a Mesmer can use a greatsword, there are others who can. We don’t all have the same perceptions. Some may know why, because they found the lore/sources that explained it, and it makes sense to them. But others wouldn’t understand, because they never were given the same knowledge.
The same can be said about uniqueness. Engineers and Warriors both use Rifles, but they use completely different attacks. Some consider that unique.
My point is, it wouldn’t add much to the game, and would just become “why didn’t we get XXX?” or “why did they get YYY?” while also making drops become useless to the major of the population.
I just did it, no bug. But, I didn’t rezone or use a Waypoint.
Not sure if it was patched, but rezoning, waypointing, anything causing a load screen causes it to reset.
I went to a lvl 60 zone and just ran DEs until it was done.
The reward was 20 Mystic Coins (expected) and 54 Bronze….. (not expected). And 3k exp. The money reward I suspect is bugged, and I reported it in-game.
Don’t be upset that you are being protected. The initial factor was insufficient funds, which is clearly an error on your end. Hippo and Punk explained it quite well, and thinking critically might result in a more positive view.
I've been watching someone play on my account all day, pathetic.

You used the same password for email as other things? Seems that might have been the loophole.
With sub games, that sub pays for “instantaneous” support. With this one, you might need to wait days or even weeks. It is to be expected with what we know. Reporting the issue properly puts the ticket ahead of others though.
Good luck and hope things are restored for you. Have patience.
Zemzer is around for the father storyline, then gone when it completes. During the Orders line, he doesn’t show up (only Luccia and Dinky).
I’m Charr. I chose Dinky (awesome guy), Iron Legion, and Loyal Soldier.
Over the course of my story, I added Luccia (or close to that spelling) and Zemzer (or something like that).
But the young Ash Legion Thief Zemzer (or whatever) disappears 100% after my father storyline. Good old Dinky and Luccia keep showing up while I help the Orders, but Zem is AWOL.
In my home instance, Zem is standing there acting like he doesn’t know me. The jerk. Anyone else lose their Warband members? I only have 2 (a warband of Me, Dinky, and Luccia seems…. small). How many are we supposed to have up to the point we pick an Order?
Also, do we have a ‘home’ in the home instance? Where are the trophies we earned displayed? (off topic)
The Charr home is…. lacking.
Where do I sleep? Where is that Torch I earned? Where is my Chalice? Where is my third Warband recruit? (he is in there, but won’t show up in my quests anymore and acts like we never met…. how rude)
I just logged onto my Asura to see what I picked….
“DOH”
You need to kill everything, then at the end you decide to take the Torch as a reward.
Rytlock and your Warband should help you, and it should be straight-foward.
But personal story quests are hard. Mobs hit harder and take more hits to kill. It’s a challenge. Usually, you should be a higher level (and down-leveled) to do the quests solo, until you get the hang of it. You have better stats that way.
Also, bringing a friend makes it easier. They seem to encourage bringing a friend. BUT, be warned there was an old (but fixed) bug that makes the Order choice later glitch if you are with anyone else. Even though it is fixed, I suggest later, when you do the Order choice, you do it solo.
People obviously don’t read past the initial “gear carrot”.
His point is there is no fun/challenging content at end game. Regardless if said content is rewarding or not.
It’s ok if content is actually fun, but not rewarding.
It’s ok if content isn’t fun, but is rewarding.
It’s not ok if content isn’t fun, and isn’t rewarding.
Ideally, content should be fun AND rewarding.
It’s nice to see someone who understands, and nice job putting that thought into a super simple format. This is exactly my thought; I don’t much care about the rewards from dungeons/raids: My reward is doing the raid itself. Dungeons in GW2 are not challenging in the least, and thus are not fun, and thus are not rewarding. They present an opportunity to grind gear but do not present any reason for getting that gear.
All of this is true. And all of this will apply to people differently.
Some will find it fun. Others will not. The rewards are only as valuable as the player decides. If you are done, you are done.
Your feedback would be better spent on the Suggestion forum. This way, Anet can keep the game as appealing as possible, if a trend develops with too many feeling “done”.
