The other argument would be, 10 people form a raid group, the 10 person raid is very happy and they start trying to kill the first raid boss, After 1 attempt they fail miserably, people start blaming each other, then they look at the DPS meter, every is doing above 7k dps, so it cant be the dps right? Nah if you are a pro then u can do 8k dps, hence anyone who is below 8k dps gets the boot! You see my point? if not I will continue. After booting the two person who are below 8k dps, the newly formed 10 person group tries again, but once again they fail miserably, so the raid leader looks at the DPS meter, ok everyone is doing above 8k dps, so it cant be the dps right? NAH if you are a pro then you should be able to do above 9k dps, and the 2 person who did below 9k dps are booted, but wait, “pls dont boot me says the 2 person we misclicked and this is our first try pls give us a chance!” The raid leader then says I dont have time for this NOOB BS! and boot! and if you are wondering where I got this example from just go play WOW and you will understand!
All them hyperboles. Raids aren’t meant to be pugged, so your example shouldn’t be a problem to begin with. There’s nothing wrong with replacing players that perform sub-optimally either. If you are the one being replaced a it sorta means you need to get better.
It’s also worth mentioning that this isn’t WoW. The playerbase is significantly smaller and thus players here can’t be quite as picky. Players who aren’t utterly awful don’t grow on trees after all.
nope only the mythic or old heroic raid require dedicated guild! And I really dont want that system to come to guild war 2! If they do make raid that hard then I quite!
even if they add a damage meter there will be hacks u can use to cheat it!
the goal is whatever u want it to be, if you dont like that then leave and nobody will miss you!
Do you even know that you are rude, when you are saying like this? I have seen that you have post this kind of answers in many post. I always wonder what is your point? You don’t give any solutions with this kind of answers. Ok?
When we see that someone have this kind of dilemma what Ronah Lynda have, we should be creative, supportive and friendly. This kind of posts are like calling help, before they are quitting. Do we want that our community is getting thinner and thinner. I don’t think so. Every player is very important to this game. You know, he might be that person who you need to your Raids run. You wonder why I am not able to do this raids and he might be that answer. But he have been quitted in that point.
Now to the Ronah Lynda:
- Yes I agree that this game have been change a lot from start. Those changes have not always been best ones. Playing this game is plain pain time to time. Some goals are getting further and furhter, specially for those who don’t have much time to play this game.
- You ask very good question; What is ultimate goal to this game? I think that ArenaNet’s basic idea is have fun while playing this game. They have succeed in this way varied. Some things are fun, some things are boring. Those who want to grind same events time after time after time, they like it. But there are also those people who don’t like run like headless chickens around of the map. For those might be a hard to find some entertaining in this game. I am one of those persons. I can run a little time and doing same events, one or two day and night cycle and then I it start to feel like, well I am headless chicken. I start to hunt Mastery points, strongboxes and so on. I don’t get much xp, but at least I get those Mastery points. Or I just pick one map and decide to harvest every node from there. If that map is undone I will do same time map completion to that map and get xp, even it is in Core Tyria side. When I finish I sell all things what I just gather and I got money. Droppings are bad in this way. Even I have played from head start, I have never got any precursor or valuable droppings. So I call my account blue and green account.
- If you have little time to play. Make a schedule. Yeah that sounds crappy, but listen up. One day you can do those headless chicken runs. Some another day you could open mastery points. Third day harvesting day. Fourth open maps and tag as many events as you can find. Even if events are failing, you get xp. Fifth day you could do one jumping puzzle. Sixth and seventh day story daysHow does that sound?
- I hope Ronah Lynda that you are not leaving us. If you have hard to find some goal in this game. Stop a while and think, what do you want to do the most in that moment. What you think is most important goal in this game. If it is gathering money and get legendary. Do it. You can do it. Just make one goal and keep it up. Anet might try to mess up your goal by listening most vocal players and forgot those silent ones, but keep up your goal. You can do it
do you even read what he is asking for? it is completely unreasonable! to be honest I think he is a guild war 2 hater!
That’s the problem with your suggestion. It would invalidate years of work for millions of accounts. And for what? Some shinier graphics.
Hey i would not be here if it was not for the graphic and the fantastic gameplay!
The graphics are ok. The gameplay… Compared to Guild Wars 1, this is straight “dps everything down” compared to a strategy game of positioning, careful use of skills and interrupts and targeting the most important first.
the graphic is fantastic! come on u are being too hard on the game!
I see you don’t argue about the gameplay part.
Since I play on a lower end computer, graphics aren’t really there for me. They are ok.
I really recommend u go buy a computer from places such as digital storm and run the game on all graphic settings maximum!! You will love it!
I see you don’t argue about the gameplay.
Graphics aren’t that important to me. It may be to you, but I don’t care that much about it.
I dont argue about gameplay because I think the gameplay is fine! I really dont like very complicated metas in all honesty!
Such a pity then you weren’t forced to move out of a game you enjoyed and an account and characters you worked years on to another game to start completely over, not because you wanted to or because you thought the game play was better but because your game, that you liked so much, was abandoned by the devs. If you had, maybe you would understand why people wouldn’t want to be forced to leave behind all their hard work and memories.
I hear you, I am sorry you had to go through that, however I must point out every life have an end and every life have a beginning! I use to love Age of empire and between the age of 10 and 18 I played age of empire all day long when I am not at school. But eventually microsoft abandoned MSN GAMING ZONE and my favorite RTS was also abandoned including all my guild mates, my high rating, my memories! I know that feeling but thats life!
Well, I have no interest in repeating the experience again for what is to me, an extremely trivial reason, improved graphics. No interest in having gw2 sit, nothing new added for several years while they make gw3 (you don’t actually think they’ll be giving you lots of new content if they decide to move on do you. If you do, you’re not thinking it through. Just them making an expansion meant months of no new content. A new game would means years of stagnation).
you don’t sound too happy with guild war 2!
I’m happy enough. Now. I didn’t appreciate them making the decision to abandon my game, my account, my chars, and I wouldn’t appreciate them doing it again. But I have an account now that I’ve put years of work on. So it’s cool. The game has its advantages that offsets losing everything I put years of work into, in the old version.
Like I said starting over in a new game is great, if youre the one making the choice to do so. It’s not so great if it’s not really your choice, like you’re suggesting they do again.
Yeh, I think I understand you, starting over if it is not your choice sucks. But as a suggestion, I highly recommend you buy a more powerful computer make sure it has a very good geforce graphic card, then turn the graphic setting to very high, trust me you will not regret spending the money or time
I have to go now, going to play a little guild war 2 and it was nice chatting with you!
How will a damage meter affect casuals? The people who want one already don’t play with bad players unless they feel like carrying someone, in which case chances are they won’t start kittening and moaning about DPS meters anyway. Casuals can and will continue to form their own safe spaces.
But criticism is undeniably the most important type of feedback there is, most people know when their performance was adequate and do not need to be told it was unless it was absolutely exceptional but are quick to shift the blame when it isn’t. Being able to tell someone to step their game up in raids if you see that they are far below for example the 7k DPS threshold required for the first wing’s boss is nothing but positive.
Just a DPS meter would be paltry though. They have the tools for it as evidenced by the PvP scoreboard so give us split damage and condi damage meters, boons applied, outgoing and self applied healing, boons removed etc.
The other argument would be, 10 people form a raid group, the 10 person raid is very happy and they start trying to kill the first raid boss, After 1 attempt they fail miserably, people start blaming each other, then they look at the DPS meter, every is doing above 7k dps, so it cant be the dps right? Well I’ll give a real example from WoW. A boss with an enrage timer and certain amount of HP that can be calculated to mean everyone should be doing 20k DPS to kill it. You go into the fight and most of the DPS are 19-20k. You have a few people carrying up at 20-23k and then this one amazing guy at 27k. You still can’t kill the boss though. After a few attempts you notice that a few players are consistently doing 14-16k and other players of the same class with very little difference in gear are doing 20k+. There’s a reason they get kicked. It isn’t “elitism” they are simply playing badly. People don’t want to waste hours trying to kill a boss and fail because bad players can’t pull their weight.
as a wow veteran I will tell you thats simply not true! after 1 try getting kicked for making 1 stupid mistake is just mean! As a wow raid leader I have done it many times, kicked people, yell at people, so on and so on! Wow is a very elitist and mean game now! In the beginning wow was much more friendlier I remember when I first joined wow, this guy give me 50 gold (equivalent to 200 guild war 2 gold!) just to help me out! I paid him back off course!
That’s the problem with your suggestion. It would invalidate years of work for millions of accounts. And for what? Some shinier graphics.

no! however that still have the potential to create elitism for example guilds forcing people to post their best dps!
Sure. But would you join such a guild? I wouldn’t. It’s like those guilds that requires 100% representation, just kitten off. But with a personal DPS meter we could gain a lot of info, showing for instance that zerk meta is in fact not be-all end-all. That class X vs class Y is in fact not as bad even though the theoretical DPS shows it is.
No personally i hate elitist players! thats why I am so against Damage meter! when you talk about info that I agree! it would be nice to know how much damage u are doing but u also have to weigh the cost which is a community thats less friendly and players less willing to participate with players who are not that skilled!

Hey i would not be here if it was not for the graphic and the fantastic gameplay!
Arena net please don’t add a damage meter, this will only create elitism! I really don’t want this game to turn into wow!
Let me give you an example, in world of Warcraft there are raids, and in every raid there are will be failiure the first try! After each failure people start whining and blame each other, and in the end the raid lead is forced by everyone to boot the lowest dps, lowest heal. In all honesty 1 wipe is ok and just to boot people for 1 failure is just stupid I don’t want this game to turn into wow thank you!
Guild War 2 have the best community and the friendliest players I don’t want that to change. In all honesty I don’t mind carrying a bad player no matter how difficult the content is thank you!
Would you be against a personal damage meter that only you can see?
no! however that still have the potential to create elitism for example guilds forcing people to post their best dps!
Yes but why did we need another thread for this.
read my post all of it then u will understand!
No thanks to gw3. I have no wish to leave all my chars, progression, gold, items, weapons and armor to start over AGAIN like I did from Guild Wars 1 to Guild Wars 2.
starting all over again is part of the fun!
“Losing” all my chars that I spent years playing on because ANet wanted to start over wasn’t.
you start over everytime you play a new Elder Scroll series, a fall out series, a dragon age origin series, a mass effect series!
If you move to another game voluntarily, then that’s your choice. But they stopped supporting a game I was playing. The game essentially died and I had to either stay in a game that was on life support or move, and lose everything. I did not want to start over. I did not want to lose my chars, my items, my titles. I did so, but not because I wanted to move to a new game.
that’s life, people eventual die and so does your character!
Don’t be facetious.
It’s not “life” Your characters don’t “die”
They stopped supporting a game I was playing to make another game. At that point I was forced to make a choice. Abandon my account that I had spent years working on to start completely over or stay in a game abandoned by the devs. It was my choice to start over, but it wasn’t a choice because I wanted to start over in a new game.
It’s completely different if you chose a new game. Then of course it’s fun to start over. Starting over when it wasn’t something you wanted to do, is not.
be positive, then ask yourself this question? do you regret any of the time you have spend playing guild war 2? is it all worth it? Because I am sure the anser is! I LOVE GUILD WAR 2!

If starting over is so much fun, I recomend you give away all your stuff and delete your chars so you can enjoy the experience of starting afresh.
I will only start over once they make a new game! it is not a pain to start over in a new game!

Ok I will be honest, completely honest and give you more example why a damage meter is very bad for guild war 2 and the community.
When I was a hardcore wow player I decided that I wanted to get the best gear and join the best guild, but to be honest I did not have the skill because even though I am good but I am not that good. Now here is what happened. First in order to join any good guild you have to get the first couple of tier one set items and armor so you can even be qualified. What I did was very mean, I basically became a raid leader and every time a nice piece of gear dropped I would take it and not give anyone else a chance, I must have done that for over 7 years and as a matter of fact the guild I joined does that, basically screwing people over. But remember I said earlier I am not that good? So I spend some money and this hacker friend of my created a program for me to give false DPS, basically I was the worst in my guild but my guildies didnt know it becuase I was using a hack program to fool everyone!
I dont want that to happen to guild war 2!
I love this game too much, and care about this community with all my heart!
and here is one more very good argument by PaxTheGreatOne.9472
Nemesis personally said most DPS assesments ingame (and around it, in VLOGS and build sites like Metabattle) are false, with people using spike/burst values instead of sustained DPS. A DPS meter is useless as sustained DPS is DPS/time, not only the spikes and not only the base DPS, and even if implemented I fear the majority of players would be unaware of its actual use and ways of interpretation.
Having an actual DPS meter really wouldn’t be nice, It would result in a fixed meta, cause people would all be scared to be kicked, (both the casuals and the elitists) and why?
Because there would be a need for outperforming others….
A DPS meter doesn’t measure:
fraction of DPS not related to personal play (by booning banners, or buffs),
heals or reductions of dmg taken keeping people up or
numer and time spend on resses (will it lower DPS due to dead/downstate, or just stop measuring giving a false number , would ressing lower dps or stop measuring? also ging false values?
combo’s and comparables
outgoing conditions, and cleans
CC’s and or interrupts keeping you or them from getting killed and or adding to DPS?
DOT or effective DOT
Average DPS/Time
Time spend facerubbing the floor
*
and thus:
A value easily interpreted wrong when narrowminded.
Leaving DPS something like MAX speed of a car on a mountainroad to the top of the mountain full of hairpins with oncoming traffic…. You could reach your max speed, but you’ll likely fly of the road, or kill someone else cause you are focussing something else, and in those (and likely other) cases not achieving your goal of reacing the top….
Lastly it will influence people to try and get cheats/hacks/manipulators ingame to manipulate the meters…. whichs will be 3rd party add-ons and will read memory (breaking TOS and geetting themselves kicked/banned/removed from play) mostly added this as I saw someone admitting he was manipulating DPS meters in WoW….
I personally feel people would go as far aas manipulating the game would be very bad, due to the party no longer knowing what and where problems come from, and if actual dmg was manipulated (other then the meter) I’d suggest all 10 being stipped of gains and the offender insteantly losig his account for manipulating gameplay and getting unfair advantages. I also thing a DPS meter would be an incentive for manipulation of the game… Maybe not for me, but for some it would be….

No damage meter, we don’t need elitist in this game and if you don’t like it quite and nobody will miss you!
Whilst I have a little more time to spare to play the game. Many friends I play with, don’t.
This gives me limited time to enjoy the game with them and get things done. Seeing as for example, we don’t progress through the story with out each other. We get as much done as possible in the limited hours we are given together.
Yet we constantly run into things in this game that simply wastes your time.
First and fore-most time waster is the bugs. Last night we were doing Bitter Harvest and attempting the achievements. Long story short. I as the instance owner had to jump off the spinning helix to go forth and clear the second path for the achievement. This how ever didn’t stop you from spinning even whilst gliding. When you land on the ground, you get throw into a wall and stuck with no way to get out. That’s an hour wasted to re-do over.
Second time waster is unskippable scenes and dialogue in story. I understand the first time around. But the second? Third? Fourth? etc. Just more forced time waiting to add to the barrier to content.
Third time waster is the grindy barriers for the new masteries. You are quite limited to what you can do at first to get any where with this new system. Making it quite hard to progress, let alone be able to do stuff with friends who aren’t up to the same masteries as you are. Not only that, there are not one, but TWO gating methods to earn your masteries. The first is unlocking through grinding experience and the other is grinding achievements for mastery points. It’s simply only there to slow your pace in consuming content and to waste your time running the same events over and over.
Fourth time waster is the amount of junk you’re given. Bags with more bags inside of them. Bags full of junk gear which only serves to fill up your bag and waste your time clicking to see them one at a time at a vendor. Why do our bags get purposefully filled up with junk that could easily just be given as pure coin? To encourage the buying of gems for bag slots obviously.
Fifth time waster is the major meta events. Standing around waiting for a meta event to start whilst taxing people in. Hoping every one else can be competent in completing the meta event. Have it crash or fail any way to have you show little for your time invested.
Sixth time waster is the gold expense and grindiness to obtain basically any thing. Fully encouraging you to convert gems into gold to be able to afford any thing. Or expect grinding for weeks on end at your favourite nerfed, gold out-put event. Just going to show how the cash shop and gold buying in this game inherently affects the course of it to reduce your enjoyment unless you buy gems.
Next topic is if this game is value for your money?
The core game in the first couple of years of release. Yes. Yes it definitely was.
Is the Heart of Thorns expansion?
No. No it is definitely not. Especially with its detachment from the core game and basically changing the game for the worse in order to stretch out the thinly spread content.
It should have been red flags when Arena Net advertised Season One as an ‘expansion worth’ of content.
Now the game has gone Free to Play with paid for downloadable content that is just as overpriced as its cash shop. It’s becoming as bad as the Free to Play Korean grinders I used to play a decade ago and that’s saying some thing.
The current state of the game is appalling.
look if you dont like grind then dont play MMO! I have played a lot of MMO and believe me when i tell u guild war 2 is not that grindy!
http://kekai-k.tumblr.com/post/75104279902/gw2-ascended-armor-concepts
The artist Kekai Kotaki has posted on his tumblr his concept art for Ascended Armor.
Nice opportunity to compare the artwork with the in-game models, or to see the initial dye colors envisioned for them.
i am sorry but that armor is just ugly!
it would be really nice if we can buy legendary armor from the gem store!
I hope they make the graphics better so you dont quit tbh!!!
thx, i have high hopes for the guild war franchise it is right now my favorite game and the game i played the most, I have clocked in 5000 hours total played!
Have you played Guild War 1? It’s still a pretty game imo
no i have never tried guild war 1! but guild war 2 hooked me!
You need to . you will see the game in a whole new light after playing GW1 . I would suggest starting with Prophesies if you want to give it a shot .
really? but honestly after experience guild war 2 and getting hooked on the beautiful graphic, it will be really hard to go back to that bad graphic!
Yes really . Several people who have gone from GW2 to GW1 have said just that because they have experienced the lore instead of just read it . Also the graphics aint that bad for being a 10 year old game .
mhmm, I will read some reviews first, sadly when guild war 1 came out I was hooked on world of warcraft!

no its not! I bought 4 of those slot and dont regret it! if they do nerf it then i want a refund because it is really not fair!
That is really not the way to think about this.
I’ve bought at least 8 of them, myself (whatever number maxing out 2 chars with bag slots is?) and I still think it’s too high.
You may have bought 4, so far, but in the future you will probably need more for another character.
Then maybe another 4 for another character and so on…
So, assuming you keep playing and play on more than one char, this situation will continue to affect you.
ETA: Looked and think it’s 3 per char to max out, actually, but you get what I mean.
if i need more then i will buy more! look they are not asking for much and remember they do need to make money!
Can anyone explain what is the ultimate goal in this game because every time I am setting up one for myself, A-nets messes it up
- When I hunted the map completion star I had to go through the WvW and play with 5FPSs in those zergs so I can just get those stupid PoIs and vistas. Now they are not included into it anymore.
- When I was glad I got all my traits open, they thought to add more traits and use skill points and money to get them. And now they just open them like before.
- When I decided to grind for the money to buy some legendaries out of the TP then they added new Legendaries so the old ones become obsolete. And the new ones made only by crafting. I despise crafting
- When i thought my character became a Hero after killing the biggest threat in Tyria: Zaitan, A- nets brings up a silvary psyco who raises up another “Biggest” threat: Mordemoth. What will it be next? Another (race) psyco rasing up another “Biggest” threat? Ao we have 5 races, one was, 4 more to go?
- When I thought that reaching lvl 80 with multiple characters was my ultimate goal, A-nets throws in new leveling : the mastery system which makes all my lvl 80’s just a waste of time becasue now I have to get exp for more then my number of lvl 80 to get some elite specialization. So now having lvl 80 written next to your name make you a noob again when others show off their 134 mastery points (aka the new infinite level)
What will be next? A secondary elite specialization with a new zone to grind for new mastery points? I guess so.and the list can go on.
I am sorry, but no matter how A-net will describe their game, for me it is not an evolving game but a trickery for a time waster where every goal you set up for yourself will be crushed down sooner of later.
They said they don’ t introduce new gear treadmill, but instead they introduced something much worse: grinding millions of exp for illusionary goals which will be shattered with the new expansion because you will never ever reach the ultimate best but instead you will return back to your noob status just feeling better then a super noobs (aka new players)
the goal is whatever u want it to be, if you dont like that then leave and nobody will miss you!
My wishlist for GW3 is the same as for GW2
GW1 * better graphics
gg wp ty bb
Same here. GW3 = More GW1 Expansions + Jumping (not JP noooo!)
And GW2 Graphics would be fine as i’m tired of upgrading my rig.
Waiting…. Still waiting….
real pc gamers dont care about money spend on pc!
I hope they make the graphics better so you dont quit tbh!!!
Or they can do it like Blizz does it with WoW and improve the gfx with each expansion.
blizz is horrible! wow graphic was good for its time which is 2004, and 11 years later omg they are not innovating! I quite wow because of bad graphic!
(edited by IAMANDLOVE.3095)
No thanks to gw3. I have no wish to leave all my chars, progression, gold, items, weapons and armor to start over AGAIN like I did from Guild Wars 1 to Guild Wars 2.
starting all over again is part of the fun!
Too early for GW3…… yet….
Agree but it’s fun to speculate. I think on a technical standpoint:
1.No fall damage
2.Air combat
3.Vehicle mounts with two bars, one for fuel (replenishable) and when the fuel one runs out an endurance bar (can’t be fixed, if it breaks you must build or buy a new one) starts going down. Once this one runs down the vehicle is gone for good until you buy or build a new one.
4.Simplified crafting that takes place in a portable home instance, can manufacture goods that reduce crafting time too. Growing food, decorations, vehicles, and vehicle fuel, just no weapon or armor crafting (that’d be a separate system.)
5.More of our abilities able to be binded so no ability lies there useless in a list. Like WoW Cataclysm (don’t know about after) we could bind countless abilities to our keyboard, A for autoattack, S for second most used attack, V for gap closer utility, W for this, B for something else, even needing to use shift + W or whatever for even more abilities. The WASD keys would by default be binded to weapon abilities to strongly discourage keyboard turning but could still be binded if the player is more comfortable with it, but gameplay would assume mouse movement and therefore keyboard turning puts the player at a disadvantage.
Atmosphere wise:
1.Darker and grittier. For many centuries there was peace after the dragons were rent asunder, but a new threat to Tyria has emerged. The end has already come, but the world, characters, and players want to stop it.
2.Pockets of light and magical areas, giving hope.
3.GW2 player character lost to history to avoid canonizing a particular race/gender combo (though signs point to male sylvari warrior, sylvari because they get so much special treatment even needing them for certain achievements and warrior because lead heroes in stories and video games are typically warriors like Link, most Final Fantasy heroes though one was a Paladin and another one a thief, Luke Skywalker, King Arthur and his knights, etc.)
yeh a lot of what you say is so true! I agree!
I hope they make the graphics better so you dont quit tbh!!!

I am looking at my elementalist and the last trait in my air atonement is something called fresh air! Let me get this correct does this attunement recharge all of my air skill? what about my elite overload air attunement? if it does recharge does this mean i can blast that attunement constantly?
I hope they make the graphics better so you dont quit tbh!!!

Did you download and install the the 32 bit first, then add the 64 to the the folder? you just can’t download the 64 bit BETA and expect it to run without having the full game installed first.
its working ok, i just downloaded the 64bit client!
When guild war 2 first came out, I was amazed at how beautiful graphic wise the game was. I had a 10k dollar gaming rig. cpu 990x, graphic card 4 sli gtx 580. I had a blast playing this game with all graphic settings maxed out it was so much fun. Yes as you can see I am a graphic kitten and will not play any game that is not good looking graphic wise. For example I never touched minecraft, or any of those stupid indie games!
Basically there is only one wish i have for guild war 3!
Please make it even better looking graphic wise then guild war 2 either that or I quite!
oh wait I think i solved the problem! you see the 64 bit client is installed in the folder that you downloaded it to. so in this case it was my download folder, and when i click install it just download everything to my download folder!
Well I am on a Mac but I have a Win version for backup.
My Win version is C: Program Files (x86) Guild Wars 2.
You should have put the 64 bit file in that folder. You can then create a shortcut on the 64 bit application and paste it to your desktop for convenience.
you see thats the problem i dont see it there!
I don’t have any problems with FPS, cuz I usually play with “Best Performance” settings, but using WPs, or going to another map usually takes a lot of time (10-20 seconds average) which is quite annoying. So that’s why I’m considering buying SSD now, but I want to know what to expect. Is it going to make loading screens time shorter 20%, 30% , or maybe 50%? Is SDD worth it at all?
Here is my PC configuration:
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-M Pro
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K, 3500 MHz
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 (1024 MB)
Memory: 8 GB (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)
HDD: WDC (1000 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-III)Maybe I should upgrade some other parts as well? But as I said, I dont care much about graphics, I only use “Best Appeareance” setting for screenshots and chilling in Guild Hall or etc. So I just want fastest map loading times possible.
hey buddy the problem is not ssd, the problem is your cpu. graphic card! both are outdated! buy a new pc man!
I cant find where guild war 2 is installed, the only way I can play t he game now is i have to download installer, this is really bad. how can i find where guild war 2 is installed on my computer? by the way I use window 10! and i downloaded the 64bit version of guild war 2
So, instead of a gear grind, or new lvl cap or anything like that, the masteries were made to allow us to progress.. so far, my progression is that I may now talk to vendors I couldn’t talk to. I can jump on mushrooms, glide, updraft in new maps. In the rest of the world I can have a mentor tag like the rest of the million people..and I can craft or have some slight benefits in fractals, that I don’t do.
just… wow
wrong the games difficult and progession is fine, I enjoy playing every sec of it, as a matter of fact i just finished a 24hour session! once again if you dont like this game leave and nobody will miss you!
I'm tired of being optimistic [Spoilers]

Hey guys, I’ve been playing since launch and have been playing GW1 since before factions. I love the game and have supported it for years. Even pushed several of my friends to start playing it recently.
But, now that I’ve completed the HoT story… I’m just tired…
I’m tired of waiting for a good story.
I’ve been reading to posts in the forums these last few days and saw that many players, like myself, are not satisfied by the plot of the story.
And that’s good, it’s important to be critical, and not instantly accept what you’re given. What bothers me (even though it’s actually a good thing) are all the other posts that discuss the theory that “mordy is still alive!”, “The egg will wake up and turn on us!”.
ENOUGH! Why are we speculating on a plot that by all means SHOULD have been a complete and coherent story about an army VS a primeval force of nature?! I don’t want a twist that M is still alive, because he’s not some comic-book villain, he’s a dragon! And taking him down should have been epic, conclusive and certain! If ANet will res him it will be bad on so many levels…
Say what you will about the Zhaitan fight (press 1 to kill dragon) it was epic, and had a massive scale to it.
It felt like an invasion! A war that we’ve fought long and hard to win.
And in the end, he fell and no one doubted his demise.
What did we have for M? Mind fight vs a giant lizard + deus ex machina in the form of some unresolved “weakness”, trahearne’s “suicide” which killed M’s leftovers and that we can SOMEHOW trust caithe (oh I was just focused on my SECOND wyld hunt… WHAT???!!!)I’m tired of waiting for long-term goals…
Legendary crafting was supposed to a magnificent scavenger hunt, and it partially is. But let’s be honest, it’s just a different paywall for the precursor!
I would not have minded if all the tiers were tripled in size, and included items that rarely dropped from certain bosses in dungeons/raids or some events. Because it would have felt like a huge epic journey which people would strive (for a long time!) to complete! It still would have taken a long time, and it would have been fulfilling to do!
But what do we have now?
Mat collections which you can acquire faster from the TP. So, if I want a precursor, I’d either buy it from the TP as-is (cheaper), or buy the mats because collecting it on my own is just crazy to do (3k mithril ore?!).
So I want a precursor =>I need money => best way to get money? => SW since dungeons are crap.
And nothing has changed…It’s just tiring to keep saying that the game will get better on the next patch/expansion/LS update..
It should have been good in THIS expansion!!!!Other things that are annoying:
No lore on elite specs. no lore on rytlock’s power. Revenents are just a thing suddenly. TD is a nightmare. ANet being childish and pretending that dungeons don’t exist instead of fixing them. Incredible amount of missing characters, items like the amulet that detects the heir to the krytab throne.Just stop opening doors you’re not going to walk through ANet, we’re all tired of being disappointed.
P.s : I know about all the no budget/time/intended for casual/ instant replies which are destined to come in this post’s way. But let’s be honest, HoT is NOT as good as it really should have been.
you are wrong, heart of thorn is a great expansion and if you dont like it just leave and nobody will miss you!
Heart of Thorn mastery system (NEEDS FIXING)!

One of the point of mastery points is to challenge you in various ways across Tyria (and the HoT maps). It’s not to have you sit in one place and grind out MP’s. You’re against grinding achievements (only do them once) yet you’re not against grinding Teq (killing him 5 times for 1 MP)?
you misunderstood, the point of this article is about people who hate achievements and dont give a kitten about them, for some of us we just like killing the same thing over and over again!
If your only purpose in the game is to do the daily bosses, yeah then you could complain that you don’t get enough Mastery Points, but other than that the possibilities to gain MPs in Central Tyria are fairly widespread.
You only need 49 MPs for all Masteries in Central Tyria and you can get a total of 80 MPs, so there is a lot of variety to choose where to get them.
You like bosses? Kill Tequatl, the Karka Queen, and Triple Trouble, each gives you one MP.
You like jumping puzzles? Do them, once all done you get a MP.
Do the personal story, every finished chapter gives a MP.
Like collecting armor or weapons? Bioluminescence armor, ascended crafted armor, fractal weapons, ambrite weapons, each completed collection gives a MP
You like doing Fractals? Each fractal has a “sidequest”, a little task, most of them aren’t really difficult you can do them while doing the fractal. Each one gives a MP.And that were 51 MPs I just listed, more than enough. Some might be a bit hard or time consuming, others are fairly simple. And they cover the whole spectrum of activities in Tyria.
So what you want is not a wide variety of possibilities to get MPs, this is given. You want to get all MPs for just doing the same stuff over and over again aka grind all MPs with a single task and that is plain and simple not how they are intended to be achieved. See what I did?
You achieve MPs and don’t grind them.
thats excatly the problem, some of those stupid achievement are time consuming, I have other things to do! I would rather just kill a boss or mobs over and over again! why cant I earn mastery points that way?
i disagree, arenanet needs a way to pay for guild war2, if u want MMO expect paywalls or dont play at all!
i agree with this poster, god d,a%mnt give us the legendaries!~
You achieve MPs and don’t grind them.
