I do it, and have garnered a bit of attention for it because I was seeing people say “Yes! We failed! Good job all!” It’s so utterly ridiculous so I complete the event now and have even gotten a bit of a small army helping.

Exactly why these actions is heroic. Look, I wouldn’t mind the farmers constantly failing the attack on R&D, for instance, if it continually spawned champion tar elementals. That’s an out-of-the-way spot no one cares about. But Shank Anchorage is a roadblock event in the middle of a pretty important event chain: clearing the Gates of Arah. Intentionally failing it repeatedly is depriving the opportunity from other players who legitimately want to succeed and continue with the chain.

As it is, it just ends in a standoff anyway: the cauldrons may be destroyed, but that spawns a named champion, who scales too high for the cauldron destroyers to take down while the farmers hang back. The event still fails and resets shortly thereafter, but was far less profitable for the farmers. So no one gets what they want.

Actually its just being (insert colorful language), not being a hero. If those people were truly interested in completing the orrian chains/entering arah, then they wouldn’t be waste their time trolling the farming population, they would just guest to another server which isn’t as farm heavy and go about their business their. Trolling the events for hours upon hours just proves they have absolutely no intentions of completing the chain events/entering arah and that they are just being… again with the colorful language.

BTW There are more Hero’s out there, I encountered one the other night, they announced " Have no fear I’m here to save you all" while it did make others angry , I did have a giggle about it, made me smile lot’s, naughty little things they were.

To be honest, I’d probably say yes. TC is a healthy community and the PVE is always going on strong.

I’m all for kits changing appearance with skins. I’d actually like to see ascended kits. Engies already have very few weapons as is and Quip is just a straight up troll.

Guys. ANet has forced me to change the way I farm in my 14 hours a day of playing because I have very few RL responsibilities or a job.

Gosh I donno man. I have an above average PC anyway, but I like reducing things in games that have no huge impact on quality of visuals. PP and LOD seem like really good places to start. That’s interesting.

As it stands though, the current LOD changes have increased FPS dramatically for me in bigger fights.

I did a world event yesterday and tested my framerate.

Before event started: 106 FPS

After event started: 8 FPS

Mine have gotten worse in fights. I used to maintain at least 15 or so.

Oh. I was maintaining above that from the get go. Turn down/off post processing and click LOD. You should see a huge different. I can remember farming Southsun and getting 15-30 in those big fights. I’m in Pavillion nowadays and its significantly higher and you now how nuts those fights are.

Such an ill-placed comment was stated elsewhere on the forums. That was my fear about ANet appeasing the anti-MF gear crowd-that what they were really opposing wasn’t just MF users being “selfish”, but that only “meta” gear/builds were used, so their speedruns wouldn’t be hampered (did they even stop to think that not everyone even participates on speedruns, and that such a thing doesn’t mean they are “baddies”?)

I don’t mind the MF gear elimination, really. But from there to say that anything that is not Berserker’s is being “selfish”, darn, that’s just intolerance akittens finest.

This is not a troll post, but I am actually disgusted at this, because the “logic” of these individuals is that anything that isn’t what they like is not allowed on their runs. So the solution HAS always been: party with the people that think like you do. MF gear wasn’t “selfish”, it was just another alternative that ANet initially provided. And it was viable just because of that reason. Players who bought the gear weren’t “leeches” out to cheat your group. They just got what the game made available to them. If you don’t like certain gear on people, don’t play with them, and find your own groups, period-stop claiming that the use of certain gear is players being selfish, because you have NO RIGHT to judge someone’s character becaUse they won’t use what you would like them to use.

EVERY STAT COMBO IS VIABLE, AND MADE OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE BY ANET. RESPECT EVERYONE’S RIGHT TO USE WHAT’S MADE AVAILABLE FOR EVERYBODY, NOT JUST WHAT’S POPULAR AND SUPPOSED TO BE “EFFECTIVE” AND THE “RIGHT WAY” TO PLAY GW2.

Berserker’s gear is a fine way to play-and so is everything else in the game.

IF you believe what you just said, then you wouldn’t be ‘fine’ with MF gear removal as it was a viable build option also.

I love the “combat is shallow” argument. What they’re really saying is “I only have to manage 1 bar and not 38943 of them with convoluted and unneeded skills and bloat.”

Basically, GW and GW2 get rid of the bloat and streamlines combat. It’s optimal and one of the best I’ve ever dealt with.

Keep trying then. It’s worth it. Best server in the game imo.

The overlay is pretty bad though. Heck, the site is pretty bad. When was the last time you saw a timer run on time?

I’m pretty good with nades to be quite honest, but I spend my time 50/50 ’tween nades and pistols. I went 4 Altruism/2 Water. Full Rabid. Going Condition/Precision/Power/ on accessories. Condition/Precision/Toughness on both rings and Precision/Power/Toughness on Ammy.

Pistols are still Condition/Power/Vitality.

I nabbed Rabid gear. Just can’t decide on the runes. Altruism and Monk/Water seem weak on Engineer. It’s something I’d use on Guardian it seems.

That seems solid to me, Sagramor, but if what Linc says is true then that meta has left the station.

I got full Rabid gear (trinkets are all the same right now) and I only gain 10 condition dmg. I lose a ton in attack but gain toughness. Seems like a wash to me.

So what do you advise? SOME Rabid or ALL Rabid? No nades? Then what? I’ve experimented but can’t seem to come to some sort of a decision.

I’ve only just recently (within the last 2 weeks) hit 80 on my Engineer. I played a Guardian since launch and fell out of love with them. If you knew me personally, you’d know I hate alts and usually stick with the same character in a game until the end.

I rolled Engineer because the mechanics seemed very different, refreshing and fun. Now that I’m 80, I’ve been tearing through the internet looking for builds that suit my play style. I guess I’d break it down like this:

sPVP: 0% (I just haven’t gotten into it even though I’m a PVP oriented player in the past)
Wv3: 20% (It’s low because I wasn’t happy with Guardian)
PVE/Misc: 80% (Hmmm)

Now, I would like these numbers to change. I’m not bad at PVP. In fact, I’m quite confident in what I can do. I guess I’m looking for that almighty sweet spot of 50/50 in terms of PVE and Wv3.

I found an HGH build online that someone used for sPVP and it looked fun so I copied that (gear, traits, runes, sigils etc). It’s fun. Problem is, I’ve been a Guardian for so long I can’t tell if it’s good.

What I’ve done gear wise is I’ve gone Condition/Vitalty/Power on 5 pieces and Condition/Precision/Power on one piece. My runes are 2 Lyssa’s, 2 Strength, 2 Fire to eek out as much might duration as possible from Elixirs. With weapons I went Condition/Vitality/Power as well because the ones I really wanted were unattainable at the time. On those I have Corruption and Battle (more Might).

Trinkets are a bit messed up right now as I’m currently in the middle of replacing them with ascended pieces of which I have two. Precision/Power/Condition for my accessory slots. Precision/Power/Toughness for my Amulet. Condition/Toughness/Precision on my rings.

Now, I feel as if my Toughness stat is low. It’s in the low 1000’s and my idea was to get Toughness on my rings so I’d have 4 pieces (including back) with toughness on them. I felt as if it’d be a decent balance. The Accessory slots would stay P/C/P.

I went this route because I felt a reliable swiftness in Wv3 (hell, even PVE) is too important…so I nabbed Speedy Kits in Tools.

The XXXX portion I can never make a decision on. I’d love to run Tool Kit but then my get out of jail free card in Elixir S would be missing. I usually put Flamethrower here for PVE – although I’m not certain FT does me any good with this particular trait/gear set up.

A little help in direction please.

I recently dumped my main. A profession I had been playing since launch. I found them to be extremely amazing in PVE and group Wv3, totally pigeonholed in sPVP and abysmal in solo roaming (sometimes even as a commander I can get caught solo). I wanted to play a class that seemed to be able to put some hurt on folks, provide above average support and take a bit of a hit.

Engineer seemed like a good choice. I felt they are under appreciated and under played so I went with it. I really do like it. As I close in on 80, I’m starting to think about endgame gear/builds. I’ve done a bit of Youtubing and searches online and came across this link:
