Pretty much every defensive garrison is just a farm/lag fest right now. SoR’s garrison’s walls and gates have been down for like the last 5 hours. We’ve started using it as a shortcut to Woodhaven. :/

P.S. I like the Tempest Wolves. They have good strategy and are highly organized. I just thought it would be nice to give credit where credit is due. Finally, there is a thief from TW who runs a circuit in the BLs to keep certain areas contested. To you sir, I say good job and may you rot in hell for your skills. Seriously – good job you little asuran word filtered for good sportsmanship.
That’s the mark of a great WvW guild, and a great team player. While the bulk of the server is off collecting karma and loot bags, this guy is keeping swords crossed over your way points and thinking your holdings are being hit. Although I’m sure he ganks players for a loot bag here and there every chance he gets.

It’s been fun SoR, forum drama and all. After two months I think it goes without saying that we could use a break from each other. But whether it’s in T1, T2 or anywhere else, something tells me we’ll be seeing each other again. The grand reunion. Good luck in your upcoming week and future matches.

It’s been fun BG, really. All posturing aside, the last 8 weeks have definitely kept us involved in the game more than we would have against other opponents, the only thing better would have been fighting SoS’ brawler guilds, they have so many good open field guilds it’s not even funny. T1 is going to be ridiculous full of brawler guilds. With HB from BG and the countless SoS guilds half of me wants to just xfer back to JQ for a week to fight them AND you at the same time.
Edit: I try to move TW to HB zones when possible when it’s called out so I mentioned them. But KnT in EB lately and ICOA, with their newly discovered but still needing a lot of improvement turtle, have started brawling a lot lately too. So props to your two guilds for getting out there and doing more open field stuff and trying to improve over the weeks.

Well Blackgate it’s time to say goodbye. We will go from hated enemies to respected opponents, at least until we meet again. We’ve kept it interesting and spicy both in game and on forums for the past 8 weeks. It has been a blast I won’t lie, not sure I would have wanted to spend the last 2 months with anyone else.
You are going to fight my 2 favorite servers after SoR, JQ (the first love of my life and TW’s original home) and SoS (the server with the highest concentration of brawler guilds out there). Both are amazing servers. I am personally quite jealous that you get to fight SoS, those guys are so much fun, probably the best fights TW has had in its GW2 history.

If you’re looking for a T1 server, I definitely think JQ is worth looking into.
As an ex-player there, I can personally say they have a wonderful community with a lot of good people. You get the occasional power hungry guy but the server does a fantastic job of bringing them in line.
Lot of great friends there still.

Like I said, the week isn’t over yet and out of this current matchup; Blackgate is most likely out of the three servers to move up to T1. Bring up the numbers of how we won for 6 weeks in a row if you want to prove my point for me.
You seem to be missing the point, when you “win” in this game, you still have to win by a significant amount. This system isn’t like other sports or games where a win is a win. You have to win by X amount to actually consider it a positive net gain. So while BG can say we’ve won the last 5 weeks, most people that understand the system will say “so what, you haven’t moved up in the rankings or points”.
As things stand BG literally needs to win each match by at least 100k to make any progress. I’ll be impressed if you can do it, but from seeing your performance these past 5 weeks I don’t think you guys are capable.
Winning in this tier is still winning in my eyes… Hahah and even if we do stay in T2 then I don’t mind; as long as we are in first place then I’m satisfied.

Well that’s not true, coverage gets you into a higher tier… That’s like saying if you only had full-time NA coverage and little to no Oceanic/Euro coverage then you can still get into T1 against servers that have 24/7 coverage. With the guilds that recently transferred over from other servers into Blackgate it can only help us advance into a higher tier and adds to our WvW presence.
It takes coverage sure, but it has to be quality coverage. You are still lacking that and the guilds you picked up from us at least definitely don’t provide it. As it stands now, you cant even rack up enough points against servers with almost no coverage outside of NA, what makes you think you stand a chance in T1?
Quality is what we’re about covenn; and you can quote me on that. I believe all of the guilds in Blackgate can improve and I know for a fact we are only getting better each week. I do think Blackgate has great coverage both during and out of NA time. There is always room for improvement and Blackgate is one that improves on a daily basis.
In the 5 weeks we’ve been fighting, BG is the same “quality” wise as far as I’ve seen. You have gotten a lot zergier though I’ll give you that.

I was on EB last night for a long time. SMC was contested by SOR and BG, so while they were busy we went and took some of BGs stuff. This action was barely keeping us beteen 200 – 220 ppts. The BLs was having quite a few issues. Our own BLs only had 2-3 red dots on it, as well as the rest of the BLs. We just didn’t have the coverage. Tough night for us. A bunch of us went over, we managed to take hills back, but that lil red water camp UGH. I hate it. It flips like a pancake.
Nights will always be tough, just come to accept it :P.
BG is the heavy server in this tier matchup and you should expect them to take your things when you’re sleeping.
That just means you have to put in that much more the next day to make up for all the losses from the overnight. From what I’ve seen so far, you guys will be fine. I mean BG and SoR has been fighting for 5 weeks now, and neither is making any progress against the other. Blackgate came in as a 2026 server is now 2011, SoR started as a 1924 server and is now 1964.
And if you maintain as you are, then BG will drop to around 1980 and SoR will drop to around 1956.
edit: Which now that I think about it, may put BG in a precarious situation. They will be within 24 ELO from us, and if you repeat next week, SoR may take 1st place because BG’s drop will be significant again just by default. TC has the potential to really shake up this matchup if you keep the scores close.

Honestly, if TC keeps playing the way they do, between them and SoR, BG is never seeing T1 unless a current T1 server just flops completely. It’ll be more of a situation of a T1 server moving down than a T2 server moving up.
They just don’t have what it takes to get enough points away from both of us. Right now, the SoR “wall” is almost negligible because we’ve been fighting for 5 matches, They gain about 10 ELO for every 20k points ahead of SoR, with you guys moving up, the closer you keep to them in points, even if you don’t beat them, they will lose a huge rating.
The way things stand they would have to out score you(TC) by almost 100k to even off set their loss and break even. Otherwise BG is losing rating this week guaranteed but so may SoR, just not very much. 2nd place has the advantage of not having any huge swings atm cause we’ve been in the spot for about 8 weeks now.

Actually…. I was with Blackgate’s likely best commander (Smokee) on Wednesday afternoon in which we were outnumbered 1-3 and held a t1 keep for nearly 2 hours with all walls/gates down and pushed you guys out of here. It was Choo, TWL, and TW with a few random guild pugs.
As a member of KnT, I have witnessed multiple battles in which was 1-2-2 and have won. IoJ having around 40, SoR having around 40, and KnT having around 20. We won, and held our keep as well.
I have not once witnessed, in NA primetime, this “Outnumbered”. In fact a lot of the times we were wondering how it seems SoR has tons of players while we have a queue and are outmanned (but then again I have been seeing posts asking if there are mesmers in the JP lately).
You guys can make as many excuses as you want. We’ll just keep winning on the battlefield.
If you want some proof of what I just said, well.. I’m waiting for the HB member that filmed it all. Likely a lot of editing and uploading because no one wants to watch a 2 hour long battle, and there was enough to show our miraculous play against those SoR.
I just still feel bad for the SoR players that let a big guild run their good name into the ground with all their garbage talk on here. It’s okay to be loyal, but do you want to be loyal to a server represented by those that talk but can’t walk?
I can’t believe you’re bragging about a keep defense. At that logic TW should be bragging about all the nights we take garrison in BG BL and farm you guys non stop, and that’s including all 3 of the chest thumping BG guilds.

You don’t have to apologize, we are fine being whatever. We both know who wins when our two guilds fight. We also know who won the guild v guild duel and who refused to show up after the first loss.
Id be more embarrassed with the fact that you admitted to getting farmed by in your eyes the “5th ranked enemy”. I can’t imagine how much guild 1-4 must have their way with you guys.

@Covenn, I think it’s painfully clear that while ICOA and KnT both front themselves on the boards as legitimate pvp guilds(which they are not, and on top of it condone exploiting and cheating-being in the same alliance defend each other), they are spam recruiting guilds that have no quality control.

The excuses, tears, and satisfaction Icoa and Knt gets out of their pvdoor is amusing, Ive come to realize you guys aren’t real pvp guilds. Our guild goes to the challenging map, your guilds run from it.
You’re our version of RP guilds, you front a lot on the boards but in game are no challenge.
Thankfully BG has a couple other WvW guilds like Thai and HB. Heck even Lotd even though there’ s not a lot of them will fight to the end not tuck tail because they are losing. It’s obvious now why BG got dominated in T1 and even if you make it back nothing is going to change you don’t have the overall quality of guilds to compete.

Nice video, really. I have mixed feelings about some of this. I can see why Indo, or whatever his name is (I just don’t want to try to find a previous post) has an over inflated sense of himself. I didn’t see any fights against some of our best guilds in there (BG), and that was some really horrible descisions placing a treb outside with 4 ballistas that you guys wiped twice. I really don’t want to start a we’re better than you fight, he just comes across like a jerk in every post. BTW, I play a thief sometimes and find it difficult. I’m a mezmer that you guys might find very hard to kill. Besides stacking a bunch of vit gear, which I don’t think you do, because you have a lot of condition damage, maybe you trait into the precision 5% vit as well, you have a huge health pool as a thief. I’ll have to try to figure that out. GJ
You should come with your guild or your best guild from BG(whoever you think that is) and put us in our place.
Let us know how many you want to fight with and then when and where you want to meet.

I don’t really blame Indo or anyone else for speaking their mind at this point. It’s frustrating not having the coverage, and in these tiers, coverage is the name of the game.
This is the 4th match in a row now in these exact same positions, and I’ve lost count how many matches we’ve had now with IOJ. I logged in Friday night to see a huge double team on both SoR borderlands and EB. It’s not illegal. It’s not immoral. It’s fine, but yeah tempers are getting hot since there is no end to this matchup in sight.
Hopefully the mods understand.
I think the match is pretty fun overall. And I don’t think the meta-game is quite indicative of anything other than coverage.
Honestly, if they ever introduce guild v guild on a larger scale than 5 people, I think that would be a better measuring stick to who is the “better” server with the “best” guilds.
Either way, I can say as far as TW is concerned, we love the competition, so keep bringing it. And our offer is always on the table for guild v guild, we foam at the mouth for that.

I say it how it is, in this matchup HB, Thai, ND, and Hire do work and hold their own. The rest? Not so much. If you want to think of me as a troll because of it that certainly is your right.
I actually dig HB’s attitude, they arnt afraid to fight and accept any challenge. While two other large and active BG guilds are all talk and no game.
