Agreed 100%, good guild, good peoples. I’ve talked with about half a dozen of their members in game. They are all very mature, very respectful individuals.

That’s encouraging to hear. I personally like TC a lot and wish them nothing but good luck in all their future endeavors together as a server.

Simple fact. When things got rough for SoR, we didn’t bail en mass. We learned to respect each other, especially a solid core of our commanders, and we learned a lot about the strengths and weaknesses of our various guilds and how to turn that to our advantage. There are legitimate questions and concerns about the character of the guilds that have joined us en mass, how they will fit in with our style of play, and especially will they stick it out when the going gets rough. In a nutshell, if they want our respect they are going to have to earn it.

I’ve remained unusually silent this week as I am aware of the feelings and emotions running high from each of the servers and as I respect all 3, I didn’t want to cause any undue heartache. However this post rubs me wrong in every way possible, and I feel the need to address it.
Let me start out by saying that the decision to leave SBI was NOT an easy decision for ANY guild involved. We had meetings after meetings, and discussed matters round the clock, and literally exhausted every possible scenario before coming to the conclusion of what was best for each of us and our respective guilds. The name of this game is Guild Wars 2, not server wars, and it was either transition to a new server, and keep our guilds active, or stay ‘loyal’ and lose the entire guild to attrition and burnout. Stormbluff Isle was an amazing server full of amazing people, and during our prime, we were unmatched by few. Since the decision of many well known guilds to leave SBI was universally shocking, and tantamount to the shot heard round the world, I understand the mixed feelings by many, but to say that SBI players are en mass bailers, and are going to have to work double time to earn respect from one player because we were recruited to bolster a community that we all agreed was amazing, and would enjoy playing for tremendously. I will not apologize for this, nor will any guild that transferred to another server to better themselves, or that server. Neither will I stand by and be put on trial because you are unhappy new players came to your server. We have been welcomed by the biggest and best guilds SOR has to offer, and have enjoyed ourselves getting to know your players, and playstyles, and can honestly say we have been revitalized by the friendly and helpful atmosphere shown to us so far. I understand that your bitter opinion and standoffishness does not convey the feelings of the entire server, but the continued digs at those of us that worked our collective kittens off day in and day out are uncalled for and breed a divide on us vs them mentality. SOR is a community, and we are part of it. The sooner you accept that , the sooner we can move forward to making this a place that welcomes anyone, no matter where they came from, and an unstoppable force in WVW. Please, for the sake of the community, stop treating those people that made the hardest decision of their ingame lives, as if we are second class citizens. Just because we were soldiers in another country doesn’t make us better or worse than your soldiers.

I would suspect there are certain expectations with all of your transfers to hit tier 1. And if those expectations aren’t met, you’ll have attrition.

Conversely TC will likely always stay with the same population because of other mitigating factors.

It’s your call really, but there is something to be said for momentum.

According to your own players, you guys have so much internal strife and conflict about remaining competitive. You’ve had 1 guild just up and leave with countless other original TC players. You have half your player base wanting an organized alliance, the other half wanting to keep TC true to its colors. Your biggest WvW guilds which are carrying your server are getting so much heat they are even thinking of transferring to other servers.

You seem to have a lot of opinions about the state of SoR and the mindset of its players peppered through all your posts in this thread. You should really worry about your own house before you try and help others.

It’s possible but not probable. Maguuma is still 31 rating behind SBI and only 24 ahead of FA. And with SoR tanking and giving more points back to SBI and TC, it’ll probably stay that way give or take a few points.

This situation if it plays out is a win win win for all 3 servers imo.

If we still didn’t have so many players waiting to transfer and wanting to talk with them all, it wouldnt be an issue. But we all know once we hit T1, SOR is going to be out 24/7 and getting any blackouts then will be next to impossible.

Yes, because you are larger than BG. I don’t think it’s hard to understand.

We can take nothing for granted, we haven’t worked together for a long enough time yet, and I know for a fact we haven’t gotten everyone over yet.

SoR has a lot of challenges ahead of it still, and we as a community must take it slow one day at a time trying to make the right decisions and fighting together side by side to create the bonds of brother(and sister)hood and really getting to know each other well.

Our primary concern is community building first, that is the only way to stand the tests of time and adversity. Luckily for us, we have a solid foundation which was built and tested on 11 weeks of adversity against SoS and BG, but now we have to continue building on that carefully and thoughtfully.

I dig underdogs too. But JQ is our first server, and our first love, and SoS is my favorite opponent server.

Too many horses in this race. Quite frankly, all 3 servers are have their strengths and weaknesses but are worth rooting for in different ways.

Thank you to all the vocal TC for your concerns, it is really impressive and supportive how much you guys are looking out for SoR and its future.

Nothing but respect for your community and server, you guys really are something else to not only worry about your own server but also ours.

If TC wants us out so bad, you can just stop showing up to WvW and tank the match. That is out of our control completely.

The fact is that servers that push to get to T1 unbalance tiers and ruin a lot of good fights along the way. It’s how the system works, it’s a no win situation, and it sucks.

But you don’t have to rub salt in the wound by basically saying i’m going to do what I want, and if you don’t like it you can stop playing for a week.

I’m pretty sure that’s not what I said.

SBI is still going to be in the next matchup, so unless there’s a huge burst out of them, we will probably take at least another 25-50 rating out before they drop.

The more likely scenario is that we will be in T2 another week, and with the rating boost and BG losing rating, we will then move to T1. It sucks for TC and SBI for us to hang around another week I agree, but we have a lot of transfers and are waiting on a lot of transfers still, so we want to get to know as many as we can personally and talk to them and get them involved into the community.

Honestly, we want the extra week, but the way the matchup is looking, who knows if that will happen. There’s only a 8 rating difference between us and BG.

Stop with the nonsense reverse psychology crap and doomsday talk. We simply want the week to get to know the new people on our server and play with them in a relaxed atmosphere so we can know the individual not just know them as “coverage”.

We are here to build a community first, and be competitive second. Hand in hand it will give us success.

If TC wants us out so bad, you can just stop showing up to WvW and tank the match. That is out of our control completely. Same with BG losing rating.

SBI still has one more week of points to give, and we are going to take that extra week if we can.

All of TW is around on SoR. Most of the DAOC/WAR/RIFT community is split between JQ and SoR.

Personally, I love the SBI guys, they are all very mature, very skilled players who are going to be a strong addition to our server and help us grow as a community. Whether we do well in T1 or not, I like them all as players and individuals.

Not wise, if another server moves up (which is possible) then you’ll lose points for a week and drag things out even more.

No one knows how you feel more than SoR, we went through 9 weeks of it. If it makes you feel better to vent, then by all means. But quite frankly, you are making your server look bad while preaching to the choir.

Interesting idea. And actually a good one. How would you incorporate all the servers though and ranking through the 3 factions?

More than likely, most servers will pick a faction together, will that put us in the same situation again?

Do you play on a clustered server for the WvW as the faction?

Do you get randomly assigned?

I like the idea, just needs to be fleshed out. And it may solve the nightcapping problem if both NA and Euro were queue’d into the same WvW servers as their team faction. But the maps would have to be large or there would need to be multiple servers and overflows and some way to track the scores.

We have added some wonderful guilds from all over the world recently. While our NA is filled to the brim, we would love to welcome Euros/Oceanics/Asians. There’s a rumor of a Russian guild coming over, which for me would be a first for our server that I know of.

Lot of exciting new people and individuals to meet and learn from. The community which was tight knit has grown more diverse but is still just as tight. Most people assume that you can’t have fun and win at the same time.

Tempest Wolves has been an active guild in all pvp games since 2001- from DAOC to now GW2 and everything in between. Since then, our priority has always been having fun and enjoying the game together, the result of that has been success and winning in the games we play. They are not mutually exclusive.

Winning is just a by product of everything else in my opinion, never should it be the goal.

Yeah, the community TS is really for adults, it’s more a rated R audience. GSCH has been good about sending in reps to relay info like the non-english speaking guilds do. And they are always there for the reset meetings.

Yeah I’m happy you guys will be able to move on to T1 glory. It’s great for you.

The one difference though is BG wasn’t nearly as strong outside of Oceanic. With the combination of planned and bandwagon Xfers SoR is “all Zerg all the time” at the moment and that just really isn’t any fun at all to fight against.

I found great respect for and enjoyed fighting against Choo, FEAR, TW, and true hardcore WvW Guilds we went up against the past few weeks. I’m just really bummed it didn’t last.

Most of those guilds were out NA time, forget the PPT, forget the stupid score. Do what we did, get out there and play with your servermates and play to win, when you are on. Don’t worry about what happens when you go to bed. I honestly, love some of the TC attitudes I’ve seen. I’ve personally talked to some of the PINK players and they have a very respectful AND competitive attitude. I love it, the attitudes of the TC’ers is so similar to the never give up Rallian attitude. Which is why it pains me to see this already from some of you guys in day 2. I cannot even imagine what would happen if you went through 9 weeks of it like we did.

One thing BG cannot ever say is that we stopped fighting. Every night we were out there fighting and fighting and fighting. Never give up, never surrender, never give an inch!

Please, don’t tell TC’rs who come here to express their frustration over the fact that we had been excited to finally have a match-up of 3 fairly even servers, to simply man up and deal with it. The whole point here is that because a WHOLE LOT of people just joined your server because THEY could not/would not simply man up and deal what was happening on their old servers and decided to bandwagon their way to the top. This match-up is beyond pointless, outnumbered at every encounter by double, upgrading keeps or buying siege is just a flat out waste of credits when a 40+ zerg will be whipping around to take anything they want, whenever they want.

Enjoy fighting alone for awhile, many of us will be taking a break from this fiasco.

Well, what TC does in the face of adversity is only in your hands. We can only help you use us an example because we were in your shoes not even 10 days ago. But however TC tackles this challenge, I wish you luck and hope the best. You guys are good people, hopefully you will get past this.

I don’t think anyone on SoR is in the mentality of “Let’s dominate T2” but rather the mentality of “Let’s prepare for T1”, where sadly 24/7 coverage is needed.

Also, you have to remember Sanctum of Rall went through 9 weeks, that’s 63 days of waking up to everything lost and Blackgate ticking at 550+ , 4 of those days waking up to +0ppt for a good 3-4 hours. We’ve been through a lot as a server and have gotten stronger because of it I feel.

Even through all that adversity we still fought on and stayed at the #5 spot. TC needs to do the same, we all know why you are losing this bad, no one is saying TC is bad. In fact I know a lot of SoR has nothing but respect for TC. But to come to the boards on end whining about it, doesn’t help. You guys have only gone through 2 days of it, go through 61 more then we can talk.

Honestly, you guys need to work on your community in this time, forget about the score. While I wasn’t going to say anything, I’ve gotten quite a few tells from your guilds asking to transfer here. The main reason they are saying, the TC they joined before is not what the TC is now. Apparently you guys are trying to create an alliance or military council or something over there now to compete and it’s ruining the smaller guilds? Stay true to what got you guys here, don’t try to be like anyone else, you are TC, forget the councils, forget the dictatorships, alliances, all that BS. Just do what you guys do and make stronger what got you here in the first place.

And just so it’s clear, they were all NA guilds, I told them we are pretty much to the brim as far as NA goes so they shouldn’t consider SoR as a reasonable choice as much as our community may appeal to them.

Stay strong TC, keep heart. What you are going through is what us Rallians went through, and we went thru 9 weeks of out coverage against BG. There is light and there is hope, just be ready to grind it out. You guys will be ok, just stay true to your community and server philosophy.

Before the reset in SoR BL, there was a thief and mesmer on TC who kept trying to exploit into the NW tower, I didn’t care much about it since the match was over. Sad to hear it happening on a fresh start though.

Anyways, it’s going to be a long week and I’m sure emotions will run high because of recent events. Lets try and have some fun and make the best of a situation no one can be blamed for, except the game creators.

I honestly don’t see how JQ NA can support that many primetime players. When we were there, we had 2-4 hour queues during primetime(the main reason for us leaving JQ). Yes, we left, but that gap was filled by other primetime guilds. Did the smaller/non-guilded players just stop playing in WvW or something?

I have a feeling the NA primetime queues are going to be ridiculous again, someone messed up on their math somewhere. PRX takes up a full BL on their own, and SF takes up half of a BL from what I saw(if they came with allies, then probably the whole BL as well).

Good pickups by JQ regardless if queues aren’t an issue. Wish our old server the best of luck to that #1 spot.
