Quite an epic conclusion I must say.

The journey is just as epic as the destination tbh. I wouldn’t trade the last 3 months for anything.

Cool thing is, since they are resetting it, no server can say they went from #17 to #2. Every T1 server thus far started at #10 or above.

SoR gets to lock this one into the history books. We’ve climbed the most ranks to get to where we are, I’m very very proud of our server.

Most servers want to get to T1 to fight the best opponents. With the reset, we don’t have to “get and stay” in T1. T1 is coming to us.

Quite frankly T1 is coming to TC too, you guys will get your competitive fights as well. Probably 2-3 months of it if they go by 1 week matches instead of 24 hour matches. Sunspots was quite accurate when she said everyone is in the same bracket now.

This is rather dumb on their part. We are 1 maybe or 2 weeks away from servers balancing themselves out. Instead, lets reset all the ratings and wait two months for the ratings to balance out.

Look on the bright side, JQ, SoS, BG, SoR, TC, FA are all going to be seeing each other non-stop for the next 2 months.

Everyone is just looking for good fights so it’ll be fantastic fights without the need to get to T1 to get those fights. Instant gratification.

Let’s hope it works out that way.

The only server missing is kaineng because they are in a skewed matchup which is repeating, they are going straight to T1 #1. But those other 5 servers will only see each other for the foreseeable future in one form or another. Either 2 at a time or 1 at a time. And all 5 of those servers only want good competitive fights so it’s really what everyone is wanting anyways.

In a sense, those 5 servers will be in their own rotating tier until things balance out over the next couple of months.

Both TC and SoR will get the challenge of SoS, JQ, BG and FA alternating for the next 1-2 months without the need for being in T1.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. You get all the T1 server fights without actually having to be in T1.

Gonna be some amazing fights, I can’t wait.

The ironic thing about this is whole idea is that finally things are balancing out and they are resetting it.

I feel like the server reset wont be such a bad thing. The servers will be ‘Tiered’ as per the rating from this week anyways, and it seems as if the majority of the servers will be in their proper tier anyways, considering the free trade period has come to a halt and servers are essentially set with who they have guildwise. Most of the upcoming matchups will be relatively even, with major a couple of shockers here or there. It’s not like we dont know whos falling and whos on the rise, and next weeks matchups will reflect that.

I thought you guys were out for good fights? You’re not going to get that in a low tier. Unless you just want blowout fights like you were getting in T3.

You do realize you lose more than anyone else? Blackgate and FA are going to eat up your rating. You will be in a lower tier than even us. I mean unless you guys want to go to T5/6.

At least if things stayed the same, you are fighting a T1 server(BG or SoS) and FA. You would have gained rating against BG. Now you’re just going to lose it completely and fall down to such a low tier.

Here is how the new T1 will be.

Kaineng is in an easy matchup. They’ll take T1 probably rank 1 with how high they are scoring.
Ehmry Bay is in an easy matchup. They’ll take T1 probably rank 2.
Sorrow’s Furnace is in an easy matchup. They’ll take T1.

Darkhaven will be T2
CD will be T2
YB will be T2

Blackgate/FA will be T3
Devona’s Rest will be T3
Borlis Pass will be T3

JQ/SoS/SoR/TC will be T4 or below.

So this means that since SoR, JQ, and SoS are going to be a close matchup in T1; they’ll be at around 30 rating at the end of next week and could go down to t5/t6 when the week ends. But, if Blackgate kicks kitten in T2 then they will have a higher rating (80+) at the end of next weeks matchup. This also says the same for the T7 servers; if Darkhaven kicks the crap out of everyone in their tier and they have 90 rating at the end of next week, then they’ll be placed on the top of T1. This is how the glicko ratings work in its early stages It’ll take about a month to balance out.

More than a month, in the beginning we had 24 hour matches. This will take another 2-3 months to balance out. The low pop tiers are going to be crying hard on their way down.

Problem is, the blowout tiers will go to T1, T2. The even matches will go T3/T4. So the “big 6” at the moment will start at T3/T4 after next match and then move their way up and the blowout servers currently at the bottom are going to hit the “big 6” on their way down.

It’s going to be another month or 2 of the low pop servers complaining they have to meet the high pop servers as they swap spots.

No, the matchups coming are staying the same. i.e JQ, SoR, SoS/BG

The rating behind the movement is what changes. So it won’t be a SoR(which has lost 11 times to BG, won 4 times to SBI, won 6 times to TC, etc) that is there, it will be an SoR(with a 0/0 record) in T1. Everyone’s history is gone.

Next week SoR will still be in “T1”.

In reality, every server and every tier is the same and the movements will come after the next match.

The top 6 servers will still populate tier 1 and 2, everyone else is still going to fall by the wayside but it’s going to take months again to settle out.

The lower tiered servers that pump out 650+ ticks will be in T1 the match after next.

Wow, the vocal TC’ers are really ruining the rep of the general server.

Sadly, I think this forum hatred from TC has resulted in the transfers from the TC to SoR server the past 2 days. You guys have lost about 30-50 WvWers(that I know of) to us because of it and 2 of your larger WvW guilds came inquiring.

For your own good, just take it easy and let it go. All the anger, hatred, jealousy and general animosity isn’t helping your cause at all and it changes nothing about the situation. If anything, you guys are now bleeding players and creating dissension amongst yourselves.

You’re my opponent, but for your own good, get it together.

Yeah, you can’t count SoS out. They came back from a 30k lead and ended up winning before.

There’s a day left to transfer, thanks to all those who have spoken with me thus far.

I know some of you who I talked to I somewhat dissuaded from coming over, but you have to understand we are looking for individuals with a certain vision.

Unlike other servers we don’t want warm bodies to fill just a time slot so we can lead in ppt. We want you to join our community and help us grow, bring to the table your strengths and help us learn from your weaknesses, contribute in every way shape or form so that as a server we become stronger and better. We want to know who you are and we want you to know who we are. That takes time and a certain type of character.

Everyone has a background whether personally or through this game and those experiences and learnings have made them a better person and a better player, in essence we want leaders not followers, whether you are a leader of a guild of 5 or 500, or that solo player who wants to help build something great, The Sanctum opens its gates to you.

2. Mes died close enough to the door to be resed through it

If it wasn’t one of those and they were bent on cheating it would have been easier to glitch inside using the walls and as such a waste of time

Thank you to all those guilds and individuals who sent me PMs and spoke with me in TS and in game. I hope our conversations were helpful in your decision making process.

Another one of the most incredible things of this server is its uniqueness, besides its history which can be read at www.sanctumofrall.com, is that to date, SoR is the ONLY server which has gained the most ranks to get to T1. The Sanctum started at #17 and is now #4, in position to get into T1.

Every other server which is in T1 or has been in T1 started at #10 or above. Not a single server has gone and steadily grown consistently from it’s start not from mass transfers but rather from careful planning and server unity. And not a single server has grown from such a low position. Be a part of the reason for our growth and start with us for our push in T1, those who are contributors and enjoy a challenge not just hopping to the top, come be a part of The Sanctum.

Hope we get some great battles this week!

While we do have a very large home and are welcoming to everyone and will not turn anyone away. We do not want just anyone to transfer over. We aren’t just looking for coverage, we want motivated, spirited individuals who desire to be part of something great and want to play a role in building an already strong community into an even stronger one.

Over the past 11 weeks, while SoR was fighting in T2 with principally just our NA coverage, we created a very solid foundation of solidarity, communication, values, respect, and vigilance. We do not know the meaning of the word surrender, we don’t know what it means to give up, only thing we know is fight, fight, fight.

What we want now is other individuals who see themselves as having something to offer to help build on top of that foundation to make it stronger.

Whether you are an individual, or a guild of 5 or 500, we WANT you if you fight with honor, if you fight without surrender, if you fight with clear eyes and a full heart, we want you. We do not care if you are a good player or a bad player, we want a sincere player.

We CAN teach strategy, we CAN teach tactics, we CAN teach communication, we CAN teach class specs
We CANNOT teach spirit, we CANNOT teach honor, we CANNOT teach motivation, we CANNOT teach courage.

We don’t want just anyone, if you are just looking to win- we do not want you, if you are just looking for a ride to T1- we do not want you. If you are an individual of true character who wants to contribute and play a role in a growing society of others like yourself- WE WANT YOU. The fact of the matter is SoR isn’t at all a bangwagon server. Quite frankly, we still have a lot of room for new guilds and players. I don’t consider us a powerhouse server at all. I consider us more of a never give up server. We have a lot of smart and tough guilds and players that don’t know the meaning of surrender. They just keep fighting and fighting, when others would throw in the towel.

That’s the only reason we stayed in the #2 spot in T2 for 11 weeks with absolutely nil coverage from 3am-3pm. We were getting ticked on at 550+ and at many times throughout those 11 weeks we were ticking at literally 0ppt for hours.

It is what it is you cannot change the the fact that we have had some very high quality guilds transfer to our server and have many other sincere guilds still looking to make SoR their home, it IS quite petty and small of certain TC to be so jealous and envious of our good fortune as a server though. But quite frankly, I think we drew some likeminded individuals and guilds who saw over the last 3 months how resilient we are as a server.

While we may not dominate T1 right from the get go, I think going on our history, we will be there for a while and hopefully we will slowly climb and grow as a server.

We do sincerely wish TC and SBI nothing but good luck in the future and hope their server and players are happy wherever they are.

I think your issues are all valid issues that more or less everyone can agree on. I just think most people are waiting to see what ANet does with these issues before they say or do anything more. If they mess up their game, well there’s plenty of competition out there and GW2 will just become another cautionary tale.

I think they are making an effort to both understand the problems, their game and create solutions that are not only logical and practical but only ones that are easily implemented.

Best thing I can tell you is be patient and lets wait see what they do. Speculation doesn’t suit the MMO world well.

They have removed the server caps, we have cancelled our 3 blackouts.

To start, you should fix your invis abilities. Lot of the complaining is coming from when mass groups of players are able to invis from a couple spells(or in the mesmer wall case, there is no cap to the number it can invis) and then even though the invis effect may wear off after 3 seconds, for whatever reason it takes an additional 3-5 seconds for that person to load on the enemies screen. Players are abusing it and I think most of the vocal complaining is coming from this more than anything else.

We have 2 blackouts left in the next 2 days before reset. If anyone is left, or interested in still transferring over, please contact me so I can give you the times.

We have a solid foundation from our climb up to T2 and staying in T2, and we have recently welcomed a lot of international guilds and individuals into our family making that foundation even stronger. Come experience what everyone has been talking about, SoR is truly a one of a kind organic community which is unlike anything a lot have experienced on other servers(I being one of those individuals).

Tempest Wolves has been a pvp guild since DAOC. We rolled originally on JQ because that is where the DAOC/WAR/RIFT/SWTOR community decided to roll before release. During that that time we organized JQ and were the founding guild for ramping up the public and widespread use of the community TS, at the same time another of the original guilds helped ramp up the community boards. We were bouncing back and forth a lot in T1/T2, but finally we got everyone organized within the community and made a good push and made it to T1 #1 spot. Then we got in mass transfers and the already horrendous queues went from 2 hours to 4 hours+.

That’s when we decided for the sake of the guild being able to play together we had to leave to a different server. We transferred from #1 JQ to #14 SoR and haven’t looked back since. Our primary focus as it was on JQ is community building and very competitive WvW/PvP/GvG.

To build an a community that is not only organic but also self-sustaining, that is not dependent on any alliances, or any specific guilds or players, which will allow the server to survive and success through any conditions because every player has a share of the responsibility with the server’s successes or failures. We are all in it together, and we are in it together until the end. No 1,2 or 3 guilds, or group of individuals can hinder or stop SoR’s continued growth because of how organic the foundation and principles of the server are.
