Not so. If i get into combat while running, i won’t be able to respec, while a person on mount will be dismounted and able to fight with their combat set. This is especially important consideration in WvW, where you can easily get ambushed when roaming, and having access to both mobility and combat readiness at the same time offers huge advantage.

True, but since neither the Carpet nor the Tunneling Tool or the kites (the current “mounts”) are useable in WvW. So I guess Mounts wouldnt be useable as well. Still no problem here.

You could actually put travel items in the Hero panel’s wardrobe instad being gizmos you have to carry and use.

While out of combat, your character would equip them automatically, and a button would be added to manually enable or disable the currently selected.

  • Running shoes (Default). Gives different animations while running without taking the weapons out while out of combat. Makes charr run on all fours. Makes tengu run all ‘ninja-like’. Can be disabled so running out of combat uses the same animation as during combat.
  • Skates. 4 wheels are added on the foot of the character without replacing the boots. The wheels appear on different locations per race:
    • Humans. Inline skates
    • Norn. Quad skates.
    • Asura. Hover skates. Actually it’s just two of those floaty octahedrons seen on golems all the time on each feet instead of wheels.
    • Charr. Chariot skates. (one of the wheels is big like those of a small bike)
    • Silvari. Orbit wheels. They are weird like that.
  • Skateboard. Makes the character ride a skateboard.
  • Bicycle. Makes the character ride a bike.
  • Flame Djinn’s Haste. Makes the character look like ‘skating’ on flames, reusing the skateboard’s animations.
  • Storm Djinn’s Haste. Makes the character look like ‘skating’ on lighting. Reusing the skate’s animations.
  • Enchanted Broom. Makes the character ride a floating broom. Can also be used for glider customization.
  • Magic Carpet. Makes the character ride a Vabbian floating carpet. Can also be used for glider customization.
  • Drill. Makes the character look like digging underground.

This would actually be pretty awesome as well, Hoverboard for my Engineer!

For all the haters keep using the wp and you swiftness skills for all of us wanting mounts the speed increase is the same speed as swiftness. I see nothing wrong here.

Beyond the fact that all the mounts clutter up the zone and cost computing resources (and development resources) better used on actual things that the game needs? I don’t hate the idea of mounts, but I see no REASON for them to exist in this game. Just because some players want them is not a valid REASON.

As already mentioned +33% looks like perma swiftness so the mounts could be turned off (see player instruments) for all those mount-hater and be auto-turned off like Minis for performance issues.
Btw Minis make even less sense than mounts (no QoL, just customisation) and they exist.
And, as already mentioned as well, mounts give QoL and customisation. Just like all the convenience items out of the gem store e.g. pick axes.

I see absolutely NO reason why there shouldnt be mounts, even if they are just Carpets, Hoverboards or Tunneling Tools (with +33% swiftness) instead of shiny rainbow ponies or stuff like that.

It would be awesome if they make profession based legendaries. Of course it would be a huge bunch of work, if every weapon for every class would get one.

But they could perfectly fit to the weapon-skills and class mechanics. e.g. an Elementalist staff which changes its animations/colors based on the current attunement.
- Fire: dark/burnt colour with some fiery effects, scorched earth for footsteps, glowing fiery eyes for the Ele, slight blur effect around the Ele caused by the heat

And for the specialization, if the Hammer is not a Kit, a nice Hammer would be great. The Thermometer aka The Juggernaut is meh.

Nope. You are free to change your traits, abilities and – hold on – even armor/weapons wherever you want, except combat.
All you have to do is carry it around and invest time to change between spec #1 and #2.

With a +33% mount you would basically just save some inventory slots (depending on class) and time.

If Anet would finally implement multispeccing (with armorsets) even the time aspect would drop out. It would only be annoying to get into combat with a mobility spec.

Ignoring the optical aspect its just a timesaver.
Everybody can specc their class for max mobility. Some may use runes for that, others just switch in the signet or some weapons.
With the mount you would just save the time for switching/respeccing the traits, runes, “mobility-armor” with runes or whatever.
Basically its nothing else than the unlimitied tools form the store, which only save you the time needed to get into WvW to buy some new tools – except the one with sprockets.

Yeah, they are already in the game, just terrible slow. Add permanent Swiftness and thats it.

Permanent Swiftness is already achieveable for some classes and some even outrun it with leaps/charges.

So permanent swiftness would not break the game imo, its just a more comfortable way of traveling.
- Guard/Mesmer (maybe Revenant as well) would ooc not be terrible slow anymore
- more build diversity, since no runspeed runes, traits, signets needed if you only take these for QoL issues
- more individualization, with enough skins
- better Quality of Life, no more repetitive button mashing for swiftness
- moar money for ANet

And with togglable displaying of mounts everybody who hates them can turn them off.

I would also appreciate mounts. Just give them regular +33% runspeed. Those who like mounts can use them, those who dont just dont. So there is no advantage in using mounts, except QoL improvement (expecially for Mesmer/Guards).
And on top for all those “Mounts hurt my eyes”-whiner -> make mounts togglable as the player instruments. With regular +33% it just looks like permaspeed.

Summing up:
- Mount-fans get mounts and QoL
- Mount-haters dont see them
- ANet can milk another cash cow

win:win I guess.

  • Mounts
    Just for the style, even if traveling through waypoints is more efficiant. It could be a great cashcow, so I dont understand why ANet still havent released some.
  • A lot new and useful skills
    New weapons, new utility skills, new traits/trainlines (and not some like those lousy healing skills with ridiculous cds just to pretend they released new skills).
  • Alternative ways to progess
    Maybe alternative levels for 80s, only achievable in new areas and the possibility to choose new skills and traits with it, to allow a deeper customisation of your character.
  • More permanent regions
    Like Silverwasts or Dry Top
  • New Classes
  • Possibilty to save builds and change them on the fly
    Allowing to respec without NPCs was the first step. Saving and loading hole builds with one mouseclick without needing to change the single trait/armor piece evertime is the next step.
  • More armor/weapon skins

Or in one word: Expansion
The LS should imo only be a temporary solution until an expansion is finished. It can not replace it, as we and hopefully ANet as well, see after 2 years!

After one day with this new system I have to say I still hate it.
The single chests for each achievements are nice.

But instead of getting the daily with generic achievements while actually playing the game the way I like to, I am forced to travel around hunting stupid specific achievements in order to get AP.

Porting around the map only to execute a specific action in a specific region is just absurd.

Srsly, add the old generic options or revert the change!

No more “Lose a match 500:49 on Skyhammer, while dancing on a floor panel and beeing shot in the back by a female Charr Thief wearing a purple Mad King’s Outfit”.

Hobo-Tron is awesome!

But since I already have the Watchwork Sprocket Mining Pick (which is superior) I will not buy it.
Please ANet, finally splitt the gathering tools into three parts, like suggested serveral times.
- regular endless tool (standard skin)
- skin (Molten Alliance, Bone, ..)
- effect (watchwork Sprockets, Azurite, ..)

The Skin and effect should be selectable like a finisher.

Then sell it as a bundle and as single parts.
In this way ppl who already have a tool could still buy skins and effect instead of nothing, because they would have an unused tool.

Give us back some 8 vs 8 Server. And some 10 vs 10 on top.
Right now there are mostly full 5 vs 5 and some boring glory farm server.
Concerning the new TDM-Map: It usually ends with one team beeing spawn farmed after few minutes – boring/frustrating.

All in all the server-situation and variety was better pre patch imo.

Srsly, an elite kit would be awesome, and the mortar in its current state is worthless. Low range, low dmg, long cd… absolutely no reason to use it once you saw how crappy it is.
On the other hand this has already been discussed shortly after release and nothing has been done since then.
So we will be using Supply Crate for ever.

Did want to do the Karka Queen for the trait, got on a “overflow-megaserver” (cz the original one was full I guess). There were only few player and most were afk, so possibility to spawn the Queen in time.
And after the old megaserver killed the Queen, no more players were put on the “overflow-megaserver”.

So in short: If you get on a “overflow-megaserver” for a Worldboss, just log out, you will not achieve anything.

What a great system.

Just a suggestion—-as EotM maps do not contribute to your native world, which base you are on is more or less cosmetic (granted some keep bosses are harder than others ie the Grawl with elemental double act twins), sooo why can’t when we are put into the EotM map, your assigned a position at the beginning, with the lowest population colour being filled first on a rota. At least that way there can be a balance for every one. Its no fun being out-manned, but on the other side of the coin, its not much fun totally dominating a map with nothing to cap, or anyone to compete against.

I also thought about a solution like this. The problem in your case could be the possibility to spy the zerg of one color and tell all their actions to another color. Just because one player doesnt like the color/guild/commander and want to harm them.
I would rather suggest to relocate all server (independent of their color in the current WvW matchup) after one round has ended, based on the active players in the last round.
Of course spying could also appear there, but I think it would be less compared to allocation based on each single player.

Yeah, maybe only few, but only one? 1h remaining and the only EotM-server is a fresh one, with nothing capped/grey map? No, I dont believe this.

I would like to have a server browser for this in order to see how many overflows are currently running and choosing the one I want to join – cannon fodder you know.

I’m also encountering this most of the time. Green/OG creates overflow after overflow, while Red/BL is often outmanned und Blue/FR.. well are there even Blue players? Think they are threatened with extinction. <.<

There has something to be done. I’m not willing to be the cannon fodder for Green or beeing farmed at spawn.

Also I have the feeling, that once a new overflow has been created you cant get away from it. The game keeps putting me into the same overflow again and again. And since the older overflow was outmanned 5min ago I doubt the reason is a full old overflow.

So you could simply go on another overflow or avoid those overflows, where one color dominates to heavy – like you can in pvp. And the facerolling color can play with themselfes.

Another solution could be to change the matchmaking system. For each round in EotM each server will be assigned to a color again (independent from his color in WvW), based on the amount of active players from this server in the last round. The goal should be to distribute the players as equal as possible.

In the last weeks Overgrowth/Green was steamrolling over the maps on every overflow, while Badlands/Red and Frostreach/Blue where mostly outmanned. To me it seems like Blue is even less populated than Red.
On top of that Green has this annoying champ in their keep with his elementals. It takes for ever to kill him, cause the half zerg dont recognize, that the elementals have to be splitted. Also they respawn very quickly – bug or working as intended?
In the meantime Green usually takes another keep, ports back and facerolls over the enemyzerg, which is still trying to kill this kitten ed Grawl.

I would like to buy my warrior the Phalanx armor, but he already has Brahams set. And since I dont need zerker stats twice I simply wont buy it.
If you ANet want more of my money, you have to change something.

Same goes for the unlimited gathering tools. There was the suggestion to put “raw tools” into the shop and sell the skins separately, usable like the finishers.
So each char still needs the tools, but you can use the skins you want.

I’d also love to get a fused weapon skin for a BL ticket, since i didnt get a ticket during the flame and frost event nor are the skins tradeable.

I opened 37 chests until I got 10 scraps out of them.

After the 5th August we need 5 tickets to buy one skin, which is absolutely out of any commensurability. 37 keys are already worth 3330 gems, but 185 keys (16650 gems = 208€ ) for one skin? You must be kidding.
I’m ok with 800 gems for a mining pick or a complete armor skin, but not with this. Just put them directly into the gem store.

T1 WvW Zerg Warriors, what are your stats?

I never dip down low into my HP numbers (you can see pic above, around 32k) unless the entire team has wiped so I thought I should mess with trading vitality for other stats.

So today I am experimenting with swapping my rings and earrings for knights.

Self buffed stats with no sigil stacks now look something like

3460 attack
43% crit chance
21% crit dmg
3409 armor
28k health

I am pretty excited to try this out later.

How exactly do you achieve these stats? <.<

He is obviously including a ton of boons in those figures.

I stated they were self buffed stats.

Boons were.

Fury (permanent uptime)
8-11 stacks might (permanent uptime)

Gear is basically Soldier armor, Soldier runes, Soldier amulet, Knights Earrings, Knights Rings, Berserker weapons.

Ok thx. First I thought you meant the buffs from killing npcs which give you 5 stacks power/health. But the critchance looked strange if only rings/earrings had been changed.

I have played my thief for a long time in WvW running d/p lastly. And I have to admit trolling other players, without running the risk of being killed is delicious.
But Im surprised that d/p has not been nerfed yet, since there is no real counter to it as long the thief isnt mentally handicapped.

Sure you can run into the smoke field hoping the thief is dumb enough to HS you. Or you can try to chain-cc and burst him down. But this would most likely result in a shadowstepping-away-thief going to soft-reset the fight, since you just burned all your ccs.

Either way some adjustments for thiefs wouldnt be amiss.

I like the suggestion to change Shadows Embrace towards only removing 2 conditions on entering stealth.
Or moving it in the current state to the grandmaster tier, forcing thiefs to choose either regen or contition removal.
Right now its like Berserkers Power or Heightened Focus for warriors pre patch – too good to ignore.
As a trait in the adept tier Shadows Embrace is definitely too strong and should be looked at.

Also not being punished for spamming/missing stealth attacks only favours noob playstyle.
If a mesmer shatters his illusions and the opponent dodges, blocks or throws invul the illusions are gone. Same counts for engineers and their tool belt abilities/static discharge or warriors burst skills going on cd.
Either missing stealth attacks should reveal the thief or cost a significant amout of initiative (5-6), being restored if actually hitting the target.
If the thief needs two attempts (such as removing aegis and hitting with backstab afterwards) he will only get 5-6 initiative back (for hitting with backstab), while he has spent 5-6 on removing aegis. Sounds fair imo.

The current prices are ok, see it as a mid-time goal (legendary longtime) and stop complaining that you cant afford it in one day. :/
If there would be the possibility to buy it with karma, there would also be a thread named “T3 requires too much karma, lower it!” next to “Motivation is gone, nothing to do”.
Srsly, you behave like little children at the supermarket checkout crying cause you dont get the candys you want right now.

Looking at the current prices for nearly everything in the TP seems more like ppl have too much gold. There are already not much gold sinks, T3 is one of them and they are needed – again, look at those ridiculous skyrocketing TP-prices.

On the other hand inflation is beneficial for those who want T3, since the needed amount of gold to buy T3 is fixed → means its only a matter of time till you get it.
