If you can spot the portal quick enough, there are a couple of options.
1: if you have a necro, have them drop down wells on portal, and if they are spec’d for wells, you can have blind cause chill, and be able to control first 5 who jump through. Staff marks can help control through bleed, chill, poison, and fear. Aoe cripple from #2 on scepter also.
2: got a ranger? Have him or her drop down some traps on portal. Flame, kitten and frost is enough to screw any who come through. (Applies chill, immobilize, crip, bleed, burn)
3: guardian: toss down ring of warding followed by the immobilize (ik ring can be dodged out of, or walked out with stability)
4: got a warrior(s)? Have them at portal with 100b and start swinging, add in a hammer war for that aoe stun/daze from burst.
5: thief? Choking gas on portal, needle trap, tripwire, or caltrops all on the portal or near it. Daggerstorm into it to get bleeds, cripples, and damage out.
6: engineer? Grenade, bombkit, toss down poison grenade followed by magnetic inversion for an aoe weakness (50% reduced endurance regen and chance to miss on attack)
7: mesmer? Throw down chaos storm, if have gs through down ibeserker as soon as you see them for spike. Got focus? Toss down warden, than the #5 focus skill to cripple, and than detonate to pull them away. If you have a glamour mes, have them throw down their fields and watch their health go fast as they spam through skills after portaling.
8: elementalist? Throw down static field on portal, cause massive confusion, throw down the earth cripples and bleeds to control. Can also chill them.
I am in no way trying to troll or anything, those are just suggestions for next time you face an eventual portal.
So goodluck if you catch the portal in time, and if you want added chances of victory, the lords/champs room has ample spots for ballistas and arrow carts to attack. And it may seem weird and you may troll for it but, the defense skill on a flame ram cam be used to deter things by burning and fearing those who come through.
To be perfectly honest, there are corpse dancers/laughers in every server, and in every tier. It happens, which does seem to sour anyones mood ( if its happening to you, or you see others do it) i tend to try and enforce refraining from such actions to my fellow guildies.
To SF, i have no ill wills toward your server for winning. Been in FC since day one, and love it here. Been here when DR, than followed by Kain as they dominated the server and eventually moved on. To be honest, i like fighting against SF, gives me and the other soloers in my guild/server time and practice to take on what would seem suicidal odds, and be able to escape, or take a few with us when you spike is down.
To my fellow FC’s and our opponents ET, take this chance to learn and develop new siege offense/defensive tactics to make us stronger in the long run. Eventuallt we will meet a match for WvW that is perfect for our numbers. We can than use what we learned to show the new server what we learned, and how to create great siege placemen/tactics.
And a shoutout to KING on SF, love fighting your guild, always fun testing all my alts against you
Shout out from FC, couldn’t agree more on guerilla tactics. Handful of us do that on our server. Albeit a little low on communication sometimes (usually have good communication between us in WvW). Several of us have learned to solo camps, if we have the time and not many enemies attempt a solo tower. Love guerrilla warfare, its fun, and it brings pride to know that you pulled off some of the enemy from EB or attacking another battleland. Gives the defenders a little more fighting chance (even if is only like 5 or so who pull off from the enemy zergs to reclaim their stuff)
So goodluck to all guerrillas, have fun with sabotauging the enemy war machine, and denying them points.
Before i go, i must say best part of being a guerrilla is eventually you can force a sizeable force to hunt you out. That and attempting to solo break into a keep, nothing like stirring up the hornet’s nest, or better getting the keep and have the enemy go ‘what the heck?’
As an all around i use a 10/30/0/30/0 with a pistol/shield combo. Static shield can be a godsend if you can hit all their clones/illusions rushing for you. If lucky you can force them to detonate around second daze (and sometimes you can hit that pesky real mesmer too. I got enough retaliation upkeep to punish the mesmer almost entire match (unless they are smart and have boon removal). Than between conditions, you cam tend to punish them due to most mesmers total lack of condition removal. Oh, and pistol/any engineers, don’t underestimate the power of static shot. That skill is a bounce, and cam really lay on pain with the blind (can help screw up their combo) and add confusion. Since many (but not all) mesmers have evasive clone (create clone on dodge) and tend to spam skills you can punish them with confusion and retaliation.
Pardon the somewhat wall of text, i hope this helps you a little in fights versus’s a mesmer.
Edit: totally slipped my mind, but if you go route of pistol/shield you can utilize combo fields heavily to your advantage.
Healing turrent : its f2 skill, you can use it than use shield #4 to detonate magnetic inversion under the water field for a burst heal
Smoke grenade: with magnetic inversion, cam stealth you
Frozen grenade: that nifty frost aura. And with added 10% dmg reduction ontop of having chill you can punish those skill spammy mesmers.
Poison grenade: area weakness with magnetic inversion. Cause then to have reduced endurance regen, and 50% chance to miss attacks.
Sorry again for wall of text: but dont forget to utilize your combo fields, they can help sway the fight in your favor.

In WvW if i can catch the thief beforehand (which can be troublesome, cause if the thief doesn’t wanna be seen it will make sure) i tend to run my glamour build, with my scepter/focus and staff i throw down staff #5 at my feet, throw down a glamour field ( as in my experience most thieves i run into are /D thieves) this gets blind up, confusion (can help make that CnD or Backstab be a miss) than once i see that thief pop up again, i toss down dual portals, focus #4, detonate the skill, pull the thief through both fields. This stacks on the confusion, hit #5 focus skill after you use the pull to hit them with #3 scepter to add more confusion.
This build/set up has alot of control, confusion, a good block, lots of blind so you can have lots of fun
In my experience, this tends to either force the thief to die to confusion (if they spammed) or to stealth and retreat. Always a good ego bruiser to the thieves who expect an easy kill.
Hope that helps a little, this is what I learned to do against them through trial and error.
Good luck, mesmer can be absolutely fun

Love using portal as an offensive/defensive skill in WvW. With my glamour build + my focus i can control them as i keep alot of confusion on them. That and nothing funnier than placing two portals near each other, throwing down #4 skill on focus, detonate it and pull the enemy through both glamour fields as you stack confusion on them so many fun things you can do with it
Static shield (can get the stun on your melee attackers) followed by throw shield (a nice double daze) ->to a grenade barrage -> throw wrench ( by this time second daze will have worn off) -> static shot (some tend to panic after the second daze so they will dodge and heal, this gives you ample time to have the confusion trigger) -> while they scramble use magnet pull-> prybar-> freeze grenade->poison volley (by this time static shot should be off cooldown so you can fire another one to pile on confusion)
-rinse and repeat, and remember to change up your rotation every now and again so your combat rotation doesnt become easily recognized (in my experience in WvW, and a few matches in sPvP you eventually can recognize the same people and know how they will procede in their attack.
(Not an expert engineer, but that combo tends to work for me)
For added lawls, pop elixir s for stomps. Nothing funnier than a micro engineer doing a finisher
Heres my WvW/general Pve ranger
It is a trap ranger, that was modified a little with some of the traits to fit me more.
Pets: Depending on the situation, i tend to cycle through all my pets depending on what is going on. But the two main ones on my bar at all times are Juvenile Wolf, and Juvenile Krytan DrakeHound.
*optional pets and situations used:
-any of the bears: for when i have “guard” on my bar for in WvW, for them to be tanky, and able to withstand a bit more damage when assaulting the siege. (due to update of “guard” you have to actually get on the same level/terrain level as the siege usually and than use “guard”, but otherwise it still works, besides climbing/descending walls)
-felines: if i feel like trolling, and i tend to just stick to the dog line of pets for this. But felines can be pretty effective if used at the proper time.
-Birds: dont really use them, but their quick damage and high crit im sure could come in handy
-Moas: I like the protection and fury of the moas, and the daze can come in handy if you can keep them locked.
Alternate skills:
*since i am always swapping out my utilities on the fly, it can vastly change a playstyle.
- “guard”, “sick em” and Signet of Stone: for when im sending my pets on a suicide mission in WvW where it is suicidal to be on the ramparts to try and reach enemy siege with our own siege. (if we didnt build catas/trebs to hit them from behind our walls)
-Signet of the hunt: only used when i need to traverse large areas of land in wvw fast with my #5 skill on the warhorn.
-For sylvari rangers: Seed turrent: found a new love for this skill when we had “guard” changed. I can toss it up there, and it can help lure away some defenders as they think im going to hit that spot, while i (or any allies near me) nuke their precious siege.
-Elites alternate: (due to how much it changes)
-Rampage as one: great for chasing things down, or when i need to get into a tower/keep that is under high pressure and i need the stabilize to blow past all the CC’s (until immoblize hits you, that one condition sucks when used against you :p )
-For sylvari rangers : Take root is a godsend if you are having massive trouble with people nuking your siege in wvw. Now i see people do this all the time, they will mass up on a particular siege item, to help make sure the 5 person aoe cap doesnt hit the siege (or they try to minimize the risk of it being hit by having mulitple people pile up on it). You can do the same thing with this elite, spawns 5 pods, and you can protect your siege Or other people for that matter.
-Spirit of Nature: now im not a spirit ranger, and i find this elite kind of iffy most of the time. But if i do notice that we are being heavily attacked or we are forced into the lords/champs room i will pop this to give us a little edge (but make sure to keep it far enough away from actually combat) Every little bit of health helps, that and destroying it to rally people makes for a funny thing since that can sometimes help turn the tide in a fight.
-Entangle: love it, most know how to get out of it, but when you are in a mob, or know you can spike fast against the person, this can give you the edge that you need.
*Alternate Weapon:
-Longbow: now i know most dont like the longbow, but i have found a little fun with it. Good at helping aoe things, good for hitting far away siege (if it is still in range) And for lawls when you see that warrior use Bulls Charge at you. Just hit that point blank shot on him and watch the confusion unfold as they go: what the heck just happened.
(i tend to swap this into my weapon rotation with my shortbow, so i can keep the enemy at bay, and force em to get in close at their own risk.)
-Off hand Axe: fell in love with this instantly when i stopped a treb shot with it. Just absolutely love it. Whirling defenses is the best lol. And you can sit behind a gate and attack the rams with it, as you hit em with barrage, entangle and your traps
-Off hand torch: i dont use this weapon that much, but i do find it fun to use when im expecting to find a lot of bunkers. (In WvW if you do it enough, you can start telling just by certain enemy tags that they run either heavy bunkers or not: but that is from my own personal experience, i dont expect everyone to have had that happen to them).
Feel free to pm me on the forum, or in game (Suaimhneach Gaoth) if you have any feedback, or want to talk ranger since i have loved this profession since GW1.
Shout out to the Ferguson’s Crossing Night crew! Man you guys were stellar tonight in defense of our land. We may have been pushed back far, but we made them all earn the land they took with lots and lots of siege arrows raining down on them
And a little shout out to SF, through our fully outmanned fights, and having like 5 or so to defend (not trolling, or complaining about being outnumbered) I learned of some new hiding places for siege weapons, and places your aoe can not reach em So thank you for those numerous times to learn those places.
So keep up the good work FC night crew, yall are some of the nicest people to talk to, and some of the most stubborn people for when we get fully entrenched Looking forward to working with yall again later.
So all around good job all, fought tooth and nail to keep what we had and pushed back SF with lesser numbers.
Awwwww they changed “guard” for ranger. Oh well, guess we rangers can try killing siege with just our Barrage now, since it was changed.
Too bad, but this isnt a q.q post, but oh well. Time to see if i can still cast it on the ground and attack enemy siege that is outside our range.
Mad props to our night shift last night on our own lands for FC. Yall made me smile at the determination and ferocity to fight SF when there was like barely 10 of us at DB when SF raided the lords room with like 50+. That and the fact we took a few of em with us, and took em like 10 mins to root us out was really nice to see.
The fact that we can show that kind of determination even against greater odds shows we do have some promise, even if we are stuck in tier 8.
So keep up the good work fellow Ferguson’s Crossing wvwers, show em we wont give up a tower/keep without a fight. Continue acting like the pitbulls i saw last night and make us all proud.
I like longbow, good for helping to tag mobs. Also in WvW it can be pretty funny when you are being chased by a warrior who thinks you are an easy kill. As most warriors on my tier do, they open with bulls charge so i just hit em with point blank shot for lawls. Switch to shortbow to hit em with crippling shot, and either run away laughing or kill them.
P.S. I know this is about longbows, so this is a bit off topic: but off hand axe with whirling axe against a rifle warrior can be pretty funny. Even more funny when they pop Frenzy and you can watch em melt from their rifle hitting them with reflected projectiles
Honestly i do not mind the dueling, it can be fun. You can pick up new tricks when fighting people you could never have fought before: (due to culling, or never being on the same map)
Also I am all sure on your tiers there are guilds that you have seen that have excelled at 1v1 or 1v numerous: So it can be a little nice to ask them to duel and pick up some new tricks from the fights. And in some of my servers set up duels, we have bantered back and forth on tricks on how to beat something that just killed us in a duel. It can be a nice learning experience.
Yeah it does take its toll on you. So you gotta find ways to keep yourself amused.
1: i started making weird builds for my lvl 80s, and having fun with them.
-You can do this in WvW and PvE.
2: take a day off, just dont play for a day and you will find some renewed interest in pve, or wvw. (or in some cases, you can take an entire week off, that can help kill the monotony of WvW/Pve)
If nothing else, get some good music going and have fun
I can understand the gears, and spikefruit. Never had it happen to me, or anyone around me, but i can see the ways you could exploit it for lawls/unfair advantage.
Okay im not trolling for this next part, or advocating it heavily because i use it on one character, but: why really remove Skale Venom?
I understand Weakness+vulnerability are pretty powerful tools. Offensively and defensively. Kind of sucks something gets removed because someone/numerous people abuse it. Or people whine enough and it gets removed.
Not trying to get an infraction, just wondering why?
Love the D/P build man, gave me the idea to use it as a secondary weapon set for my main P/D roamer in WvW.
Ran your D/P in some hot joins for spvp, and loved it (played a little asuran so it was even funnier since it seemed the bigger opponents couldnt keep track of me out of stealth).
Oh and that little trick: BV—>pop the signet—>Black powder—>Heartseeker than steal in midair to land the mug hit, heartseeker than BS is just too much fun. Love using that combo in WvW.
P.S. (couldnt remember if you talked about that little trick or if it was someone else) but keep up the good work
I know it may sound weird, but I do not really mind the fact that we are usually Outmanned in WvW on Ferguson’s Crossing. Being in this server since the start, I have watched a unique like culture/fighting style evolve in the underdogs for Tier 8. When it was kaineng, and now Eredon Terrace and Ferguson’s Crossing. You saw fighters who would fight a guerrilla like warfare against a much larger force. Fighters who can excel at 1 vs many and still end up taking a few with them, or escaping. I know there are skilled players in all the tiers, but it has kind of taken on a whole new meaning down in tier 8 that we should take pride in. To see these fighters, and the hardcore WvWers on both sides, when outnumbered who keep on coming to fight, no matter if they die or not.
I am proud to call Ferguson’s Crossing my home server, it does not matter to me how outnumbered we are, or how badly we lose/or how low morale is. I will keep on fighting, and I know most of the other die hard wvw players will to.
So to DR, then Kain, and now SF, i bow to you for allowing me, and the other guerrilla fighters on the servers a chance to hone our skills and improve. Against numerous zergs, and overwhelming numbers you have helped foster a unique playstyle that has made some of us a lot stronger in skirmishes and full on scale fights.
So SF, and who ever replaces you, I welcome your challenge. Bring your zergs, bring your many fighters and i and others like me will keep on fighting. We will keep on flipping camps, breaking into your towers and liberating our own. And we will continue to try and crack into those keeps.
Honestly it is a little sad to see some of the older guilds leaving, and some of the hardcore wvwers from FC not showing up. But alas we continue on with this match.
And im not a fan of SF, but this is not a “troll” or “whine” post, but thank you in a small regard for taking so much land. It gives me, and the other solo roamers i am training in my guild how to flip camps solo fast. Also it gives me adequate practice when learning how to solo a tower and flip it Now just to try my luck at a keep.
And to any ET or SF that sees a P/D thief with an Omni tag, just bow to me if you ever want to duel. I am always looking for a duel
So good luck all, and kitteneep up the good fight.
Edit: saying Keep…….UP not kittenup >.> dumb forum lol
(edited by Jarettellis.7813)
I tend to use all of those, depending on my situation in WvW. Only put SoS on my bar if i need to get to a camp/or area fast (or if im siege attacking us with just going out in stealth and attacking)
Shadows refugee has found a perma spot on my bar when i’m playing my P/D roamer. Only to get past large zergs that stand between me my destination (be it a camp, or anything else that needs to be destroyed or flipped).
And i dont really use Shadowstep, cause with my two venoms i use (spiders+devourer) as my P/D are enough to keep me alive. And if they do hit me with a stun, and i cannot land my CnD than i die. But only cause i slipped up as a P/D. You get up, and you learn not to make that mistake again.
But that’s just me, my server developed a guerrilla like mentality and most of us tend to just hit hard and know the stun skill animations. (im not advocating L2P, just thats for me and others on my server)
Mango Pies are just a must for me when I am playing my P/D. I tend to roam alot, and while i am going in and out of stealth the 88+ hp from mango pie, than the 300+ from the trait that gives heals in stealth makes me hard to kill.
Tuning crystal is pretty good.
Okay not here to troll, not here to complain about uneven matches. or to say “oh SF is bigger..blah blah blah”
All i am here to post is how bored the winning team seems to becoming. Though i don’t blame them when they can control EB easily :p
Though it is giving me adequate practice on stealthing to destroy siege so thank you
Maybe they could have had you land after a crash, where than you are in a whole different kind of fight.
Where you than end up fighting in a sort of psychological fight. You have a fight against maybe the original owners of magical items that Zhaitan had consumed. Make it an 8 profession fight, the most powerful of all the items absorbed. (each summoned 20 secs after the previous one is killed). Sort of the last death champions of the dragon. Tie in these last champions as the last main life forces that the dragon has before the final strike.
Than as a last ditch effort to survive, Zhaitan corrupts all that is on the ground and you are each thrown into a separate instance, where it goes around to mess with your character’s mind even more. Where depending on your character creation’s choices of things (like spirit animal, how you were raised, what your god is, etc) you are haunted by it all. You don’t have to really fight anything, have what ever you picked (be it the spirit animal, how you were raised/what you wanted to do, what your god is) appears at the end and pulls you out of the instance so you can finally kill Zhaitan.
During the whole fight with the champion’s and against zhaitan on the ground, there are corruption fissures that stack on a condition (call it: Spiritual Corruption) at 25 stacks will summon a veteran of your profession. (you could lose half your health when its summoned, or condition stacked on you).
I don’t know, this is my little suggestion on how it could have been. might be a little too much invested, but it might have been a better fight/death for an Elder dragon.
The healing seed consumable is blocked from WvW.
I prefer Condition over glass cannon in WvW and pve. Can be pretty decent if you know what you are doing, and most don’t have condition removal (as most i’ve run into in WvW are glass cannon with out cleansing skills).
A good P/D condition thief that can show you how good they can be
but as the previous poster said: its all preferance
Eh, I really do not mind confusion. It is a nice control condition (albeit it can be a mean one if you blew all your removals or are in a 1v1, or 2v2).
Although it is funny when you are fighting a glass BS thief in WvW, cast confusion on them, then wait for them to come out of stealth dead. (unless they were a smart thief and did not just spam away, or had the trait that removes conditions ever few seconds in stealth)
Little side note on mention of the Epi Necro. I love that kind of necromancer, we run a Corrupt Epi BiP Necro with a heavy confusion condition mesmer to really mess with zergs. Funny how many do not run condition removal, or notice their health decreasing rapidly until it’s too late. Oh well, zerg mentality for you.
Now before everyone starts saying no, or attempts trolling i will say this simply: This was just a random idea, i understand it will never happen. However, it was a nice little idea while i had it.
I also understand this can go against the Elementalist’s lore, and what they essentially are. If nothing else, just call it a shoulder mounted cannon.
So here goes: my idea: a rifle/cannon for the Elementalist
-Fire:
#1: Lava Buckshot: Explodes on contact
#2: Phoenix Screech: Release a burst spray that causes burning
#3: Mark of the Djinn: Next (. . .) attacks cause burning
#4: Dragon’s Rage: Grant fury, might to you and your allies
(this one can be changed alittle)
#5: Phoenix’s Ascent: Launch to target area, causing a blast of PBAoE. Initial launch causes burning on surrounding enemies for 3 secs
Water:
#1: Vapor Shot: cause 1 sec vulnerability
#2: Glacial Spring: Channel a volley of shots. Can detonate after first shot to cause a healing spring at your location.
#3: Blessing of the Djinn: Next (. . .) attacks cause (. . . ) healing in a line
#4: Blizzard: Create a swirling blizzard at your location that causes chilled on enemies who cross it. (think swirling winds)
#5: Glacial Eagle: Fire a glacial eagle in a line that can be detonated to cause chilled condition and heal allies. Double heals if not detonated early.
Earth:
#1: Onyx Shard: causes bleeding
#2: Stoning: fire a volley of stones: last one causes a 1 second knockdown
#3: Chains of the Djinn: Next (. . .) attacks cause immobilized
#4: Tremor: Bash the ground with the hilt of your rifle/ or with the cannon to cause knockdown in a line.
#5: Ebon Hawk: Fire an ebon hawk in a line that causes bleeding to those who are hit by it. Detonate early to cause blindness and bleeding.
Air:
#1: Storm Shot: fire a shot that pierces
#2: Go for the eyes: Causes blindness and knockback
(the name of this attack can be changed, couldnt think of a better one for it)
#3: Wrath of the Djinn: Next (. . .) attacks create a lightning storm at the targets location for 3 seconds
#4: Thunderclap: Release a burst of electricity at your location that causes stun on enemies hit
#5: Storm Hawk: Fire a storm hawk that causes weakness on enemies, and swiftness on allies in a line. Detonate early to cause blind and stun on enemies.
Now this was all a random idea, and i think it could create an interesting battle scenario for elementalist’s and their allies.
This is more of a control weapon.
Would like to hear some feedback on this: however i do admit it wont be implemented any time soon.
Yeah love the condition thief. Especially a P/D, the 100+ ticks from bleed and almost 200 ticks from poison can make you laugh. Especially when you roam in WvW
That and use choking gas+stealth on a zerg or enemies to mess with them since it doesnt break stealth
Can do that in pve to, but the enemies are more quick to realize when you drop from stealth
I honestly would not mind some transfers. However, if we do get an influx, hopefully we do not forget some of the strategies that we do field.
1: our decent, almost unkillable siege placement (that can be argued by some people)
2: Some hit and run squads that some of our guilds have resorted to running.
3: The ability by many to fight an completely outnumbered fight/skirmish and still get respectable /bows from our opponents. If we do not wipe them
All in all i hope if we do get some new numbers we do not forget that we have been up against large numbers, seemingly unending zergs. And we do not become a server of just zerging.
Like someone said before in our WvW thread for our matches: FC can be like a pitbull when cornered hopefully we can keep that and show we do not go down without a fight.
And to those servers who always had us outnumbered, i bow to you for the lessons you taught me and the other roamers in my guild. Taught us how to deal with a 1v10, and how not to become roadkill right away when fighting your massive zergs
I’d give you about a 7/10. Interesting last name for your charr, fits the warrior.
And i really like your little backstory, that would be a funny sight to see an Order of Whisper’s Charr doing that to their enemy.
Cthol Mishrak, Necromancer of the Iron Legion, and scholar for the Priory.
I do not know if this is a bug or not. I have noticed it a few times when dueling in WvW and on the NPC’s in Heart of the Mists.
When you use the combo field of : Black Powder, followed by Heartseeker you get the stealth as planned. But when you are fighting against something you can hit the heartseeker, than hit Backstab right after since the heartseeker does not break the stealth.
Like i said before, i do not know if this is a bug or not. But with how precise you have to be with timing your stealth and attacks sometimes, this does seem a bit weird to be doing this.
SF your server seems to have a lot of S/D thieves. I do not mind that, cause it makes for some really nice duels. So thank you and ET (when i can actually find some of you) for the good duels.
Look forward to more duels
Glad that paid transfers are getting put into place as well.
But to get back on topic: i’m actually enjoying in some regards the boost in numbers SF is seeming to have. Gives me and my guildies on FC time to learn how to combat larger numbers.
Others may disagree with me, but when ever we are against a larger server i see it as a good time to train in new tactics {like capping around the enemy zerg, hit and runs, diverting a zerg. or attempting to divert lol if we dont get run over in the process }
And i’m sorry ET that you are losing players. I always had fun dueling some of your D/P thiefs in EB.
Probably not a bug, but noticed it a few times while in WvW today.
When you use Necrotic Grasp and it enters an allied Static Field it will become stuck in the field till the Static Field effect ends.
Was doing the personal story: Forging the Pact, and once i got to the group in the cave i noticed that when we started fighting that Scholar Inkblood was using Combustive shot (a warrior burst skill for longbow), yet still had a pet and was using barrage, and rapidfire.
So was just wondering, how many more NPC’s are using skills from different professions besides their own.
Well if you go in as a support Ranger, the torch can boost damage considerably. You can have blast finishers for an area might, or have in WvW a large chance of a causing burning with all the ranged people.
As a predominate Beastmaster Ranger with a staff for Gw1 i really like this idea of a staff on the ranger.
However if it can not be a ranged weapon, why not create it into a melee one? Where you have certain effects in the chain for #1 skill cause a support skill to pop up. If it is going to be a support, i can see several advantages it could bring.
(ie: an attack that heals for aoe on crit/or successful hit| an attack that immobilizes enemies hit for 5 secs|)
Although with your camouflage idea, it does seem promising. However there may be one problem with it. If a group of rangers with the skills “guard” “sick-em” and RaO, in WvW you could wipe siege off walls extremely fast.
But i do like all the ideas for it.
okay thank you for this information
GS: superior fire
axe/shield: sup intelligence on axe and sup hydromancy on shield
rifle/bow: has a minor bloodlust
Mending/beserker stance/bulls charge/defy pain (or stomp depending on situation) and signet of rage
usually survivability.

Welcome aboard. (albeit it will be a short visit) hope to learn how you do that siege defense
At the watergate for the WvW west bl keep is currently bugged that it allows an enemy to die either right next to the grates or about 10 feet from it. While the enemy died on the inside part of the keep, their allies can resurrect them and if they are a mesmer (which we had to repeatedly kill due to the resurrects) can portal the enemy in when ever they are alive again.
I blotted out all names, and the enemy invader doing it because i would rather it be fixed to prevent further abuse.
Eh don’t worry about them. To be fair, with this constant bashing from superior numbers, then the exodus of more people morale is going to be down. And who do they blame? They blame those in charge. So do not fret, just keep leading if you choose to. You and Amenita (pardon if i spelled it wrong) are doing a good job.
So do not worry, just keep at it, and have fun.
FC: E R I O N D (OMNI)
When using sword the #1 attack can sometimes root you in combat if you dodge roll right before attacking.
Using blinding powder, and right as stealth is about to wear out cast shadow refugee you will appear out of stealth animation and you have to constantly look at your screen for it to show the stealth icon. It can get confusing sometimes in a large WvW fight because you tend to not know if you are still stealthed. Which throws you off for what you goals are, (like destroying siege fast, or taking out a key objetive)
If nothing else, as a hammer guardian i tend to have when aegis ends it causes retalitation. Throw in “stand your ground” to break stuns and keep most CC off you, with “save yourselves” for those nice boons.
Shelter as a heal is nice, those two seconds of block can really save you, than the elite Renewed Focus can help you chain your Virtue of Courage, and virtue of resolve to sometimes get away.
Hammer of wisdom is pretty funny when you have it summoned, just command it to Kd one person chasing you, it is one less going after you.
And if nothing else, and you are about to die, just turn around and fight. Most of the time the enemy will be caught off guard and you can kill a few of them, if not seriously wound them. And just cause you may die, nothing like giving them a nice change up by charging them in a dead rush instead of dying running away.
Good luck with your guardian, they are fun in WvW if you realize you cant be full tank or full damage. It’s somewhere in between.
Okay so i was doing Forewarned is Forearmed for the vigil storyline today and i couldnt help but laugh at what happened when I reached boss. Now when i died at the boss, tragic i know i respawned at the checkpoint above water at the sewer grate. Now this is where the fun came into play, the boss and his minion followed me above water. The boss doesn’t really feel weird, cause that has happened before, but the shark followed as well. I dont know if it was a bug, or what but I thought it was funny. Attached is a screenshot of it.
