norn spell caster necro or mesmer?

I did a norn as a necro. I wanted a necro, but was trying to choose a race. I already have an asura/charr mesmers and had a hard time justifying the norn. But the Necro Norn seemed logical. I like her, big, bold, in your face chick who can take care of business and look good out on the town for a night of drunken debauchery.

Isn’t that the idea? Why share when the possibility of having it all exists? The eternal concept of not enough magic (power) is what typically drives good things bad and bad things evil. There can never be enough magic, there will always be the desire to have more…

I’ve tried to change the upgrade on one of my 2handed weaps from 1 ruby orb and one emerald orb to 2 emerald orbs but I cant do it, I get red and nothing else. Is there something I’m missing here? Are 2 slotted weap upgrades permanent?

I kind of ran into the same problem. When you click to upgrade, a box should some up. There should be an upper and lower box. Typically the upper is green. If you already have one upgrade on it, it will be there. You have to click the bottom and move the green shading to the lower. Then it should appear on the weapon.

Suggestion: remove underwater combat

Yeah, like what Kimeekat said. I don’t exactly like underwater combat… but now that I understand it better I don’t run from it. Instead of eliminating it, work on making it better. it does take some time to get the mechanics figured out…. and having my kitten handed to me time and again because I did not understand it… well is really my own fault…

Who would win in a fight, a Charr or Norn?

1 on 1 Norn wins, but not easily.

Norn are breed with the singularity of the hunt. It is what they do, by themselves.
They rarely ask for help, but will join a hunt if it meets their criteria of difficulty.

Charr belong to a warband, where each member has a role in the fight.
If there is a warband of 5, take away 4, the warband is not as effective.

This is not to say that the fight would not be a good one, to the contrary. I think the fight would be long, hard fought and extremely difficult. It would be fun to watch.

^9.5ish.. I rarely suggest 10s but this is close. Very Charr ish and sounds like a name that a Charr assassin would use, especially a nocturnal one.

Jenka Stones, is a female Charr Mesmer. She belongs to a clan, that adopted “Stones” as the last name. Long story short, after losing her war band to an ambush, near death, she was found and nursed back to health by a direct human descendent of Jenstone of Lars. Jenstone was an unique human, accepting of almost everyone and treating friends/warring companions as family. Her original name was Jenkarika Mindblower. However, she completely hated that name, with a deep passion…something to do with her parents, etc. So, after she was brought back to health, fought along side the other members of the Stones clan and proving her worth, Jenka was asked to join the clan. She gladly accepted, with the condition that she could change her name. This was one of the rare times when the clan leader (Erik son of Jen) did not influence the name change. And thus, Jenka Stones was reborn to the world, with a new purpose and family (warband).

Well, my humans belong to a clan for sorts. It was started back when the few hero’s put to rest the Great Destroyer and the Dwarves became stone crazy. A Guild was started by, a human, Jenstone of Lars, the Stone Polishers. Over time, this guild faded into obscurity, but Jenstone of Lars kept a clan of sorts going. In the mind of Jenstone, his friends became his family and he treated them as such. So his family, ie clan, began to include all races within Tyria. Norn, Asura, Sylvari, Human, Charr, they were all included. Over the years, part of the many changes was the last name. Not everyone was from Lars, much less had heard of it. And most likely it will never be found, long ago destroyed in one of the ancient battles between good and evil. So, to honor the founder of the original guild, the name Stones was accepted to be the clan designator or last name. At this point, the only beings that have wanted to wander the world are of the female sex, which is a story for another time.

Yup.. sound very Nornish.
forgot the rating 9/10
I have 4 Norn, all female.
In GW1 I ended up with 22 toons and well, I kept forgetting the names.

So all the Norn (and non-norn characters) have the same last name, somehow, they all were either adopted or in direct lineage of Jenstone of Lars. Jenstone, above all, considered his closest friends as family and as a result the Stone clan (Stone Polishers Guild) absorbed all races. But over the decades, due to various issues, political and geographic, the clan members began to use Stones as the last name.
And it just so happens that this particular segment of the clan, the females have similar first names. Upon birth into the clan, the first names are given out by the patriarch and quite frankly, as he grew older, he got tired of being creative with names.
So, here is the result:
Jenna Stones
Jenra Stones
Jenia Stones
Jens Stones
His idea was to honor the originator of the Stone clan (The Stone Polishers) while keeping things simple.
In his mind, no matter what guild or activity that the Norn women find themselves in, everyone will know from which clan they belong to.

I have been getting emails like this for a while now. I travel a lot and have played in several places and at first it was all ok. Then I started getting emails about concern for my security because it appeared that someone was using my account. I use a laptop for the game, so I only play on one machine. However, when I get one of these emails, I delete it then check and see if I can get on. Not missing anything but it is a bit of a hassle. I got hacked in GW1 and it was a royal pain, lost lot of stuff, so sensitive to it. Anyway, today is about the 30th email I have received since January. I am really tried of them…
