Thought i would share the DS build I’ve been using its purty strong and I am still undefeated with it in duels, I honestly think its one of the strongest dueling builds in the game atm.

I do not like liars. I transfered to HoD for a week and whipped this ele! If you go back to his video he only fights the same 3 people cause he knows he can beat them! There were like 20 people there! Liars will lie. Scrub ele.

No worries, I’ve always been kind to the BUNS crew, even if it would be on the other side.

I still get a kick out of this pink sylvari thief from Yarr who jumps me from time to time. After that initial hit, he realizes he hasn’t downed me and notices my guild tag. Then it’s PMing back and forth until it’s time to log off. For some reason, Silent can always find me in a crowd. Either that or he’s just blindly targeting mesmers.

Nope i think homie is a great player, i just find it cheesy when you show up to duel and every class is running the same build. Kinda makes it feel like i’m just redueling the same build instead of a player :p

Thief- Cheesy class remove from game!
Gaurd- Scepter
Warrior- Godmode cheese!

Talking specifically 1v1’s since thats mostly what everyone cares about, and most of the things i mentioned are builds people find cheesey (my list is alot longer! i hate losing!)

Everyone just play a real class with real runes! There problem solved.

I think a lot of times people forget this is a game, drama in a game is pointless. We all play it to have a good time and relieve stress. No reason to bash on one another every chance we get :p

There are two skills a memser has that involves boons. Arcane thievery will trade 3 conditions for 3 boons and Signet of Inspiration will grant a random boon every 10 seconds unless activated where it grants all boons to allies. So to get all boons the mesmer would first have to have the Signet slotted and secondly he would have to activate that signet. Now what intelligent mesmer would do that against a thief?

What skill gives you all boons? Bountiful theft gives only 2 and only if your target has 2 boons on them , 3 for Thrill of the Crime and those are fury, might and swiftness. So I am trying to figure this out.

Its the Steal Skill we get off of mesmers

If done correctly there is no room for the thief to dodge the wave while waiting under the house, the wave will cover the whole circle. It will fail if a) you are too far back from the edge or b) you only catch half the circle and they are in the other half.

The stolen skill gives me all boons in game for a few seconds, why i say if your smart and pop this in shadow refuge you won’t get knocked out. Aegis block and well stability help too :p

Easiest thing for a mesmer to counter. Stand at the edge of the circle, use GS 5, Illusionary Wave before the House drops. It blows the thief out of his hidey hole and they stand there for a couple of seconds with a stupid look on their face. Since they are now running out of initiative it is prime time to turn them into a moa. Thieves love being chickens.

And a smart thief will use the memers stolen skill to stop that or dodge in shadow refuge :o

Cloak and dagger every mob / clone phant, evade constantly and when it gets tough and you cant kill 1 guy just port far away and keep running, after nerfs then we can reestablish which builds are good on thief.

You set up your phantasms, I’ve fought very skilled memsers who shatter them before i can get the the CnD, the evade thing? Thieves have the same amount of dodges as any other class unless traited, many classes have similar traits. And the reason why i believe many people here are calling your build cheese is simply because every mesmer showing up to duel is running PU or a variation of it. It becomes very stale after a while.

Infiltrator’s Return
The thing I have heard the second most discussion regarding. This is a big change to this skill, but we beleive it is a necessary one. In many cases this is not going to matter. There are only 2 situations where this is a truly impactful change.
1) It stops you from using this skill while stunned, which puts more burden on Sword/Dagger thieves saving their stun breakers. This is the kind of gameplay we want to encourage because it puts more risk in using a rewarding skill like Infiltrator’s Strike.
2) Mostly in PvP, this skill can no longer be used by S/D thieves to teleport stomp someone. This is actually the more impactful moment as it occurs more often, but I think it puts the burden on these players to run a second weapon set that can help them in these situations (OH pistol for instance.)

I would like you guys to reconsider the change to Infiltrator’s Return. Thieves survivability outside of stealth isn’t that great. We are one of the squishiest classes’ in the game and rely on our dodges and other mobile skills (Infiltrators) to keep us alive vs heavy cc or AoE classes. I may even argue that we’re squishier then Elementalist, while they do have the lowest health pool exactly to thieves and the lowest armor in game they have 7 direct accesses to protection a 33% damage reduction. Thieves have non.

If your argument is that having a built in stun breaker into our weapon sets is bad for the game i’d like to argue that we are not the only class with weapon skills such as these. Mesmer’s have two weapon sets with similar abilities to blink away or break the stun all together “Phase Retreat”(10 sec cd) on staff or “Swap” (12 sec cd) on main hand sword. Both of which can be traited for a quicker “built in stun break”.

This change will greatly effect the play style of the weapon set and lead to less build diversity. More people will flock to builds with greater utility and damage such as Dagger Pistol.

I hope you will reconsider the change, thank you for you time.
