Did SoR changed their gameplay back when SoS was still in T1? I remember they were passive and keeping their own corners and not really playing for ppt.

In a manner of speaking, yes we did change our gameplay. We have to be very aggressive now in order to get any fights at all. Most of the time if we sit in our corner and do nothing no one comes to us. There is no action no fights. When we first came to t1 JQ and SoS were more than happy to come a knocking at our door, or in a field of battle. Now more than anything we are spotted and the enemy zerg runs into their tower or keep 90% of the time. So, in return we have begun to just bulldoze everything in our path to make sure we get our fights/loot bags every night. I wish it was different I really do. But I honestly think that the fact that SoR BL is red 90% of the time a day after reset is an indicator that JQ and BG would rather not fight us. It is true however they are more than willing to send 10 omegas into SoR BL every so often to catch us off guard, which works 50% of the time. (mostly because finding scouts who want to sit and watch a gate for hours at a time with little prospect of it ever being hit is difficult) Most of the time SoR BL= Karma train of camp and sentry post with an odd tower thrown in from time to time.

I miss the good old days where no matter what BL you were in that night there was good fighting to be had. While I don’t think any t2 server would have the coverage to win in t1 I would like to give them all a chance, you never know it might be surprising. At the very least it would be a change of faces and hopefully some renewed action.

Regards to SoRBL being red all the time, its not because we don’t want to fight you but its extremely difficult to rally the people we need to break that map. SoR is always smart and has a guild there ready for anyone who tries + militia. Its never easy breaking that map even if we find a way to. So don’t think we trying to avoid you.

There’s a reason SoR is the only server to get #1 without the FULL status and the only server that has gone up the highest number of ranks to get to #1.

It takes a lot of organization and unity along with positive, charismatic, and vibrant leaders to grow a community and keep it strong.

Everyone who has played on other servers and then comes to SoR say it is like night and day, the difference between other servers and SoR.

Just putting this out there, you are not the only server to do so. JQ became #1 with “Very High Statues”. We only became “Full” with the people that joined after.
We varied between Very High and full, but when we actually became #1 we were very high. Then week or so after it switched.

Huge shoutout to the fighters on all sides who played EB this afternoon. THAT is how WvW should be done, and well done from all commanders for making that happen. Have to tip my hat big time to BG side, you guys had an EPIC showdown on your keep, and no matter how hard we tried to topple your last holdout, you shut us down and kept on point. Was only a matter of time before JQ got ADD and hit us, you held out till that happened.

As to the GvG chatter, my statement was my opinion. Guess what, everyone has one. Why do you care about mine? My team trains for WvW, not GvG. Our builds and strategies are intended to fight all kinds of fights, terrain, enemies, and most importantly keep offense/defense. GvG is specifically for fighting another guild in an open field somewhere, which while we love the clashes we get while fighting some enemies, we have been known to (more than once) feign a hit on an enemy to instead blitz around and wipe their siege (or take a point).

That is in essence why we play. TSYM is focused on WvW, and the randomness, craziness, imbalancedness, madness that is an average afternoon in there. You can pipe on about skill all you want, but you know what WvW skill is? Ask the JQ commander how, with the weakest field presence of all the servers on EB, he was able to keep not only SM, but dominated PPT on the map the whole time!

THAT was skill. He didn’t own anyone off the map, he didn’t stand strong in front of the enemy army, he played smart, tactical, and careful. As a result, he did his server proud by building a strong PPT.

Once again, my opinion. If you disagree with it that is your prerogative. My gauge of skill is different than yours. Perhaps instead of retaliating with a counter to my opinion, you should ask yourself why it bothers you so much?

Well said Coron. Btw if you referring to Reset night the JQ commander for first 3 hrs was myself then Wok took over after me to keep everything locked down. We had a blast in EB fighting you guys and KnT.

The interesting thing is the guilds that just stated they don’t have any interest in GvG have their members flooding the area when GvG actually happens. The walls are usually lined with a good healthy population from each of the servers watching the GvG.

I think most guilds are afraid because of their ego and arrogance and the list of excuses when you lose is limited. But I think guilds only gain reputation and respect by GvGing. Surprisingly, there’s very little bashing and a lot of mutual respect in the GvG scene, I’d say a lot more than the WvW scene without question. The WvW scene is a cesspool compared to the GvG scene, there’s a lot more honor with the GvGers compared to the WvWers.

When HzH came out to GvG CHOO and TW, map chat and TS was full of nothing but respect and praises to those guys. HzH is at the top of SoR’s respect list when it comes to JQ I feel because of it. Even now, in WvW when HzH is seen or mentioned, people give them a lot of respect because of it.

Good fights RISE and Choo in BGBL Hills. My question still remained in my head to RISE though. Why hit us when Choo held your garrison until we hit them? lol And btw they took it again :P Not trying to start a argument or anything just kinda of curious. We are also still waiting to hear from the few servers that we haven’t gotten in touch with yet, yours is one of them, hint hint. So to answer your question, give or take a week for scout feedback then our decision will be made.

I agree. Your guild has heart and dedication. I watched the GvG last night and you all were fierce and never gave up. One of your guys even came in to our TS to chat with us, that DESERVES mountains of respect, and WE do respect your guild. You will only learn if you try. Most guilds cannot say that.

Yep, yep I came on to SoR TS to thank for GvG and good fights ect. It really helped us in the long run by picking up this extra experience.

Makes it even worse then, your guilds should have the resilence to take fully sieged keeps then, after all JQ has been in T1 the longest.

We don’t field 30 people for every guild or have militia to get that many on each map. And yes JQ has been in T1 the longest, but we do it with everything we have.

I’m not sure I like the idea of getting rid of the Tiers. I like them in the sense of you want be the best you have to work your way up. However I do think they should make it a little more reasonable to get to T1

Hope some guilds see the senses to join JQ. Hot competition of jq vs sor and iron made a mistake going to sor and just killing the chances of balance considering its been fairly stable sor being ahead by far for weeks now. Sor will stay ahead till some guilds get bored or others move to jq. All coverage aside the score is perfect proof of the current imbalance in the grand scheme

Rewriting history a bit. SoR had the weakest coverage of all 3 t1 servers. No one could foresee that JQ would start bleeding guilds. At the time Iron made the choice SoR was the best choice as far as balance is concerned.

Using this quote and going off of what your TW friend said above it seems like you guys always had the coverage if you take away EU. You guys are ticking the same as JQ SEA with the return of your guys SEA guilds. So it seems to me you guys always had a chance at winning, but your SEA guilds were not showing up or were testing? Whatever it may be adding a EU guild did balance it while your SEA guilds were gone. However now you guys are doing much better with your SEA at least ticking 200 and now the 400+EU. My point I’m trying to make is honestly without IRON if your SEA would’ve been what it is now. You guys could have won in my opinion. Keep up the good fights and good games.

I am noticing alot more SoR on at SEA time and its guilds that have been there before IRON was there. Btw don’t try to tell me that you have same numbers as 3+weeks ago when FOO and friends were dominant. All that aside not trying to start something but asking the question. And I agree cerial that’s EU timezone, which JQ has very very little of. So not easy but we will find ways to adjust and or improve to fix.

I think it is funny how when JQ ticks low we are accused of throwing in the towel. I understand some BL’s we may not have much if any of a force on a map. However SoR you guys did not have much of a force during SEA time awhile back when you guys were ticking 150ish. We never accused of you guys throwing in towel though. So enough with that kitten.

@Cerialkilla—-Not all of JQ’s NA has jumped shipped and left. Some of the guilds are still here and will continue to fight for the server.

So couldnt help but read this forum as I like to see all aspects of tiers and saw the RE smackdown. The only thing I am going to say is that remember DB as you guys may have got to T2 by yourselves before transfers I honestly think that it is amazing. Remember every server that has collected guilds and formed quickly has fallen. I wish the best of luck to DB. Also RE I have no problem that you guys left I understand maybe you guys needed a change. However why not tell anyone atleast? Thats the part I do not get. Good Luck to all!
