I have to agree. Map changes good. Buff changes terrible.

Devon seemed to mention changes to the leagues. But honestly, the Bloodlust buff is far worse than leagues. Bloodlust buff does make people not want to play. Revert the buff Devon, for the game.

Imagine you taking down 1 gate/wall of a a keep/tower. Imagine 50 people inside which ain’t that abnormal. Imagine they all chaining their aoe into the gap. Good luck walking through and surviving.

Aoe cap is there not only for the servers, but also because some things will be just impossible to cap and some classes will be rediculously OP. Like Ele and ranger, no. If aoe is unlimited, make healing unlimited aswel and all the other spells. But OOPS, we are back to 0 than…

So yea aoe cap is there for a really really good reason.

There is a dev post flat out saying, in plain english, its there for the simple reason of server performance.

I will say it again. If the cap were raised performance would suffer greatly. That is why it hasn’t been changed.

I think that if people started limiting the matches to 8v8 I might be more interested in the GvG scene. The 15v15 and 20v20 videos are hard to watch, I have very little idea of who’s doing what or why.

8v8 while it does sound great does not fit with the GvG guilds as we are WvW guild with 30+ members. this will leave a lot just standing round doing nothing.

I think 15 is the sweet spot for GvG’s since most guild can field 15 and we can have a range of group comps and builds involved.

as for not knowing whats going on, that takes time and practice to notice as I think the pace of a GvG is much faster than a Tpvp match.

@OP: As a player who regularly plays all 3 aspects of the game, from one side I can understand where you are coming from.. On the other hand it seems I have to point out that your own argument can be easily turned around on you with regards to PvE community which far outnumbers both WvW and PvP communities combined…

The PvE community gets most of the dev time now….so your point is moot, but you fail to realize WvW ppl HAVE to PvE.

Furthermore, I think that if there is enough support among the population for any mode, whether it is “dead” or not (in your humble opinion), ANet should work on that mode and try to improve it. Stating otherwise only reduces the weight of your complaints, regardless of how well founded they are.

*They’ve been working on that mode for a year and it is dead. <—- Not an opinion when you compare it to WvW. It’s time to look to WvW as the reason for players to play your game. WvW + PvE = Long term game. *

Fact of the matter is that, like PvE crew, vast majority (I see this term thrown all around without any basis so might as well use it) of WvW players don’t visit forums, don’t know and/or don’t care about orb buffs, sPvP mechanic being introduced or pretty much anything as long as they get to follow that blue badge and kill some stuffs.

Vast majority of players don’t come to the forum….except of the ppl that do the vast majority are WvW’ers.

Now to the point:
Will the buffs make WvW even more imbalanced ? Quite probably.
Will the buffs encourage de-zerging and de-melee-training ? Maybe, if the server with lower coverage can get organized enough… highly doubtful tho, simply because of the nature of the game and players.
Does any of this have to do anything with sPvP resources ? Not at all, in fact I have no idea why anyone would draw parallel between introduction of new WvW mechanic and funding for a completely different game mode..

This is where you just kitten the bed. The lower coverage server with the greatest organization in the world will fail against higher coverage in this WvW system. The orb buffs will compound the issue b/c that zerg ball you are fighting w/ your 20 guys now all have +150 to all stats…..

The head devs on this game are solely concentrating on sPVP. They refuse to acknowledge WvW in any way shape or form. They don’t care about the bigger PvP player base because they want to become the next big eSport. What they need to do is wake up and realize their sPvP kittening blows, and the only thing this game has going for it is WvW + dedicated new PvE content.

If you’re doing 1v5 you shouldn’t expect to live regardless of the classes involved. If you have team mates… you should be able to stun break and back off behind them in the majority of situations.

Unless you are facing TC. My current difficulty threshold for solo’n TC players is at 8….at that point its a fair fight

In this thread, people who run in 25-30 man guild blobs complain about it being hard to find good fights.

Running 30+ in a guild group is just a kittening zerg.

Noticed the “elite” guilds do that.

I dont know man. The right 30 person group can wipe a queue zerg. I have been on both sides of this equation. Very few things are as demoralizing as that and can knock a large force to another map.

Done whooped zergs with 15-20 before.

30 is just overkill

I used the bold effect with little *’s to help with your reading comprehension.

15-20 will wipe most zergs but the numbers are not enough to wipe a full map queue zerg. Not enough spreading of damage from aoe cap and too little healing unless there is massive cleric gear, but then you wont kill anything.

I used to care now I don t anymore since Elder Scrolls Online is coming out soon.

I left wow for GW2 and now wvw is unplayable in T1 due to constant and map wide skill lag…its virtually unplayable now as servers purposefully use giant groups to slow the server to a crawl. I haven t spend money on gem cards for two months because Anet is not addressing the skill lag issue and won t until they do.
