2×8GB Crucial Ballistix 8-8-8-24 @ 1600 | Arc Midi R2 | Asus VE278Q 27" 1920×1080
Edifier S330D | Superlux 668B | Audiotrak Prodigy Cube | CMstorm Trigger | Logitech G500
Not bad for the cost, under $300 CAD. I sit about 3ft away.
It does need calibration to get the proper colors out of it.
I will be upgrading to the Asus PB278Q 27" 2560×1440, much higher res and better colors.
Need a good system to talk advantage of it.
Load times are not the only thing that will help. Overall system performance, not only booting. Every software you have will take advantage of SSD.
GW2 will load faster, going through portals will be faster. rendering data will be much faster. Also your latency and fps will be more stable level. You need to factor in the ability for the network to read the data of your drive.
Some games do very little, others game is a huge leap.
SSD do help GW2. But prices are not going to keep going down. They will stay for the time, but price will climb this year.
The black screen/crash is not only specific to nvidia. AMD also has it. Its not a driver issues or graphic as a whole.
it is a configuration in there system, coupled with the software and applications on there.
many not having issues and many have the exact same build. Yet one crashes the other dont.
This is what I using right now Asus VE278Q 27"
Your model native display is 1366 × 768 @ 60hz
best to set you system for that display to native or 1280×720 @ 60hz
Which model is your 32" Toshiba?
You might have the correct settings in place.
Are you using HDMI?
I had the same issue twice. next time I will record the sound.
What do you consider overheating?
Which gpu?

After looking more closely the system you have I think is the Gateway DX4860-EF23P with a 5400rpm HDD, which is for gaming.
Which is sold at Futreshop in canada, one of the worst place to buy a PC. As they are 100% commission sales. (I use to work there)
Sells for $599 CAD
http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/gateway-gateway-2nd-gen-intel-core-i5-2320-desktop-computer-dx4860-ef23p-dx4860-ef23p/10207077.aspx
$2200 on it. BCDragon (BC= British Columbia)
So you are in my area, and I can tell you that it is not worth spending on that system, if you paid $2200.

We don’t want you to replace parts, we want you to take it back and get something actually worth the amount that you paid for it.
Well that’s not gonna happen either…what part of that don’t you get?
Well why not. You give no reason. Why would you spend that money, to get a system of low end.
You can get a better system for half the cost, and use the rest of the money for something else.
I dont not understand why you would do this?

I use DSL so my IP is different every single time.
You just mentioned why it does this. Either use a router or get a static IP.

BCDragon.5614 please understand. Your system will not run GW2 smoothly. At lowest settings, it looks terrible. In your case 30-35fps is not good at all, at lowest settings. That there is poor in any terms.
What you get now for the price you paid, will get you 60fps at 1920×1080 with Best Apperance settings.
Not sure where you bought this system, but it is not built by you, nor a custom built.
Why is it hard to understand what help is or understand that the system you got is wrong to teach you the correct way to get a system for what you paid.
Dont feel ashamed that the system you bought is overpriced. The sale person that sold it to you, was his fault that took your money. They knew this from the start.
There is ways to fix this and not cost more money, and increase the quality of what GW2 and others will look and feel.
Be nice to know what brand the PC is and where you got from. That will help a lot.
Best performance is low settings. You can do that in your current system right now.
If you want looking good with 60fps, your system will never happen.
Like I said, your power supply you have, will determine what card you can get and $500 will get you a very good card.

BCDragon, I’ve been trying to help and I was not being rude to you.
$2200 for the PC you have, is outrageous. In my sig, that PC cost $2300. That is a big difference in performance compared to yours.
You didnt bother to read any of the help I’m trying to do. It seems you’re stuck at believing the place you bought your PC, as being good for gaming.
You’re being rude attitude, with no regards for any help. I do not understand why you posted about your system, and not take serious advise to help.
I even showed you the link for the 7350 you have, and how it is based just for OEM company like HP, Dell, Acer, Lenovo. Tell where the performance lies in the market.
I hope you will try to understand, that $2200 is not the right price for that system. The longer you wait, the worse it will be.
Thank you.
Your power supply will determine if you can get an upgrade. 550w power supply, what kind?
$500 can a GTX 670.
You will want to OC your cpu to help, but with the mobo you have, will not be good or even stable.
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Kalec.6589
You will need mobo, ram 4-8gb, cpu, video card (maybe new PSU), OS (64 bit), maybe case.
Low at 60fps is really not that fun to go with. You will just limit any others game in the future.
A g840 is mainly used in prebuilt systems, like lenovo, HP, Dell. Which already has be discontinued.
Your wife has a nice system. So make a decent budget, so you dont have to upgrade again and stil be able to play many games with decent quality.
$400 is not going to cut it to get what you want.
Name is case sensitive.
Didn’t see the old post, just someone who necro a post.
Addy, thank you for the info. Just waiting for stock to come in for the ASUS PB278Q.
As soon my new 2560×1440 comes in I would give a suggestion.
you cant upgrade your video card. It’s a laptop.
An SSD will boost your system, and help in load screens in GW2.
My choice of SSD is the Crucial M4 256gb. Can go 128gb.
in my sig I’m using the Audiotrk Prodigy Cube External DAC with Edifier S330D 2.1 speakers.
There is more than enough bass coming from the game.
have a feeling that your soundcard might not be properly configured or the sound coming from the game is not 5.1 supported.
Test using headphones and see how it sounds.

He don’t need more than 8GB ram. All you need is a 64Bit OS.
That should fix your problems.
You open up your laptop and blow out all the dust in there.
Another issue is the drivers you used is incorrect or outdated.
There is the AMD Mobility Radeon™ Driver Verification Tool for the mobility AMD. make sure you download the correct one for your OS.
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
You could be running out of gpu memory? the 56050m usually comes with 1GB, some did come with 512mb. Most times it is dedicated, others it shared with system ram. You say 3806mb hypermemory, which is not the real amount.
Use GPU-Z to determine the correct specs of your gpu.
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/
One problem is the HDD you are using.
Also your ISP upload speeds might be slow, coupled with a bad Nic/router or wireless connection.

I see your problem. You are running the wrong OS. Windows 32bit only sees 3-3.5GB max.
To use over 4GB, you need to use 64bit OS.
Win 7 64bit can be had for $90. Depending on where you live.
All drivers you will install, will be 64Bit when you download them.
I’ve seen GW2 run upto 1.7GB of ram in the process.

If it is a Dell, HP, Acer, Gateway, Emachine. With that video card, the PSU used will most likely be 350w. max at times is 500w. But power draw will be close to a 400w, which they over spec on the sticker.
Upgrading now will cost him even more, than returning it and starting over with a custom built.
Here shows your 7350. With only 512MB ram. With the low speed ram of DDR2/DDR3, it will limit what you can do.
http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/oem-solutions/Pages/desktop.aspx#2
Right now, your CPU is doing all the work with GW2. 7350 is barely being used. The higher the res you have, the more Vram the 7350 needs. GW2 can push upwards of 800MB, which 7350 dont have.
BCDragon, please dont feel bad. You have the right to be upset at the place you bought it from. The sales person made money at your expense.
You can always send me a private message, and I will try to help if your within my area. So we can discuss and help fix this problem.
I would suggest if you can try a different video card to test.
I got spam in game well before I was posting here.
These are my settings, and have not experienced any issue you mention. I’m using 306.23 drivers.
I don’t drop anything lower than 45fps under heavy WvW
The beta 304.79 was the first driver to support GW2. 306.23 is the offical drivers now.
Which you can use.
That wont help on here. They can get it in game when ever you chat. They see that there. The gold sellers are a pain I already have over 30 blocked.

You never proved any one wrong. 30-35fps is not good, period. If that is your max, at 1600×900. Your CPU is doing most of the work. The 7350 is doing nothing on that system. Its not a gaming card, when it is the low end of the model series.
You should be getting 60fps, that way if there is more action and massive details hit, it will drop your fps.
With 30-35 tops, you will drop badly. I tell you to return it, cause at $2200 is a rip off. The place where you bought it, dont care what they gave you. As long they made commission and money.
I’ve seen this happen too many times, and you should not feel ashamed that this happens. its the sales person fault that sold it to you.
This can be fixed and you can really enjoy the game and any other games more.
I paid about $2300 for mine system which is my sig. That is not all of the parts listed.
Sig limit.
I’m doing another upgrade to a 27" 2560×1440, which you do need a good GPU to run it at 60fps on that res.

DL connection is least important, its the upload rate is. When its trying to send the data over.
For you to get only 1 fps, then there is really something wrong on your system.
Other system runs fine with i5 430m @ 2.26Ghz with GTS 360m @ 1920×1080, which should be close to your system in performance. Getting 40-55fps at the default best appearance.
Hopefully, something can be done on your system to fix the issues.
I do know the GW2, takes advantage of SSD, over HDD for loading time within portals.

I’m trying to help you understand what kind of system you got. many stores do not case what they sell you, they tell you that its so good it will run anything.
I have dealt with this for many years, and fought with stores to help customers like you.
The video card in your system is the same performance as a 2 year old 5450. Which now sells for $40. That will barely run GW2 at medium with 1920×1080.
I understand your frustration, but if you want help I can do that for you.

$2200, OMG. I sell that CPU for $180 and the AMD 7350 is used only for OEM. (Dell, HP, Acer) The 7350 is based on the 2 year old 5450. Which I sell for $40 retail.
Sorry, that you got scammed, but GW2 on this is not going to be good. My advise is to return that system and look at get a custom built.

I doubt a refund will happen.
What settings are you using and at what resolution? Running at lower res, will make your CPU be used more, than your GPU.
You will want to OC your CPU to help increase system performance if that is the case.
There could issues on your system, that is preventing proper usage. Your low FPS can also be part of a bigger issue. (Dont say I dont have issue with other games, as I hear that all the time.)
Can have issues trying to read the game info from your system, and relay them through your ISP. If your network is slow, that can also lead to lower fps.
Now GW2, can and will use upto 875mb of Vram. You could be using up all the vram, which can be a problem.
What do you plan on playing this this ?
GW2 is having huge issues with nVidia right now. People with that card and even better are getting absolutely awful fps and not all can be attributed to user error – so it’s not a safe bet if you want to play this game on great settings right away. Hopefully they get it fixed…
The HD 7870 would be fine, too, about the same performance. Same for 7950.
Also, remember to get a good PSU. If you’re investing so much in parts, you don’t want to lose them to a crappy PSU. Prepare to pay at least $60, $90 would be a safer bet and get you more features.
And remember to get an aftermarket CPU cooler if you’re overclocking. If you won’t be overclocking, you don’t need the -k suffix processor.
That is very untrue about nvidia having issues. I’m using GTX670 and not one problem. it varies on people system and how it is configured.

Here is my system and the settings I use to play on. On average I get 45+ fps in WvW, open world, cities and dungeons I get 50+ fps.
Not sure why I see people here saying they are having fps issues. Some of these systems are similar to mine.

Did you log into GW1 and onto each toon prior to July 31st, so Anet would get your character name reserved.
Another problem is that your email used could have the hackers access to it. So when you change your password, they will see it.
my advise is change your email password. Also get a new email just for GW2 and not use a easy password on either game and email account.
