EDIT: Just checked in with my guild cause I left to do other things 2 hours ago. I remember us having an absolutely terribly timed attack into the inner keep from the water gate on Garrison where we underestimated how much crap you had on the Keep Lord. Was a terrible wipe and kind of embarrassing.

However as far as “glitching” goes. You guys are apparently absolutely terrible at sweeping for mesmers. Like comically bad or something. Somewhere between Stormtroopers and James Bond villain henchmen.

So for as bad as a mistake we made attacking into a bunch of AoE and siege at a gate, maybe you should look inward before you start making accusations of exploits. I’ll be happy to relent and even report exploiters in my own guild if you can prove they did anything but pull the wool over your eyes several times.

Nah, they’re just proud of what they do. There’s nothing wrong with that. My guild is also very proud of what we do, we just let the battle speak for itself. Different styles is all.

Am I the only one that dislikes this matchup? Other than Friday, it’s been almost entirely Player vs Door. Each server just takes turns throughout the day storming the entire map. Their population falls off and a couple hours later, another one is steamrolling everything.

You were with us storming the DB Garrison yesterday. That wasn’t PvD at all. That was a really drawn out siege from 3 fronts.

Make 4 just a regular KnockDown
Make 5 a High AoE damage skill. Same CD of 40.

I’d mind that. I’ve won so many fights by 354 comboing people, it’s insane. Immobilize into Ring of Warding, I smack them into the Ward, and then beat on them a bit. Usually they’ll panic and run into the wall a couple more times just letting me beat the tar out of them.

4 also works for smacking people into an Elementalist Static Field.

The only thing that needs to be changed about Hammer is that Ring of Warding needs to work 100% vs people who don’t have some form of Stability up. The fact that people can dodge or jump through it is buggy.

Also, I don’t know if anyone noticed, cause it’s not mentioned on the tooltip, but people bumping into Ring of Warding take damage. Or at least it seems they do on my screen.

Kill the mobs as fast as possible and the Veteran Charr will rush the gate. As a Guardian, this is what I normally do. Takes a bit longer than just bringing 3 Rangers, but I’m over it. It’s not impossible with melee.

I don’t think this thread has enough falling sky yet. Needs a bit more doom and gloom.

You can dodge more, and stay in the fight longer because of it. A dead DPS is 0 DPS.

Contemplation of Purity and Smite Condition aren’t instant, either.

Making a spell instant isn’t very clear in this game. What it does is it allows you to cast it at ANY TIME. (Stunned, knocked down, while casting other spells)

For example, lets look at our Teleports:
Judge’s Intervention: Is instant, can be cast when casting other spells (in the middle of Hammer 4 and 5 is most popular for good times) can break stuns and be used when knocked down.

Flashing Blade: Can only be used if your character is not impaired from attacking, and if you have no other abilities casting.

Both cast instantly, but only JI is actually instant.

I’m still fairly new at this but I’ve done Wv3 almost exclusion from level 15 up to the 56 I’m at now. We played TC and we played Yaks and I don’t recall it being so one sided In those match ups. That’s the thing I can’t understand when people say TC ans Yaks rolled AW. Looking at the score posted a few posts up what makes Anet think this process is working? I don’t have the answer but its clear that they need to better balance the match ups. I’m more if a FPS gamer but like MMO once in awhile for a change but this is not the change I was looking for. Why don’t they have servers designated for PvE only players like war hammer did? (My only other MMO I played so not sure if others do it) would having those kind of separations help with population levels in Wv3?

Warhammer PvE only servers still have RvR in RvR lake zones.

WvWvW is VERY largely decided by population and 24/7 coverage. As populations fluctuate, servers will move up or down in the rankings. Look at Henge of Denravi and Eredon Terrace. use to be T1-2 servers and have fallen on some very hard times due to population dispersal.

So sounds like the majority here agrees about the skill being somewhat broke and needing a fix. Now if we can get Anet to read this post. I remember reading a post second week into release where Anet rep said the Hammer love is coming down to us… haven’t seen it yet

To fix #5:
-Not allow dodge to roll out
-Not allow stability to walk out, but also not knock down
-Allow teleport/mist out of it

I am good with those changes if they would ever be implemented.

Stability SHOULD work on it. If they have to burn a counter ability, then it’s fair.

Over the past two days I have to say, Darkhaven is bringing some serious pain in the prime time hours. GoF, RE, SE, WE, ABC and others have done a great job defending and countering us. I especially like that some of the players zone hop to keep us guessing. THIS is the Darkhaven I expected to see from the start.

I made sure to call out to kill the PD traitors in FA yesterday. I knew when you had fallen off the bridge into the water and didn’t release that you were waiting for people to rez you, but I didn’t stop them in time, and ended up in an underwater 3v1.

Got my revenge at the Supply Depot a few moments later, though. And at the defense of the Lord’s room at the Hills keep.

I still maintain it is a very good skill.
It might be a little easy to avoid, which should probably be tweaked, but it should most definitely have counters. Teleports and Stability make the most sense. Dodging our wards doesn’t, really.

Judge’s Intervention isn’t a root, just a teleport and burn. You have to stand still and channel to create it, so most players will see you doing this and dodge roll out. If you want a guaranteed way to hit them with it, bring along Signet of Wrath or something and Immobilize them.

I’m not sure you completely understand it. You can cast Judge’s Intervention while casting Ring of Warding, so you teleport to the enemy and they instantly have the wall around them.

I’m fine with Teleports and Stability working on it. As that’s what they’re supposed to do, and it’s forcing an opposing player to use an ability to escape. I do the same thing to other classes with Stability, they should be able to return the favor.

If they fix the ability to roll out of it, I’ll be happy.

GoF is trying to put up a fight on FA Borderlands, with some help from friends.

Guildy of mine got Dusk from Kohler’s Chest. This is because exotic weapons can come from the large chests from bosses. Not saying that killing Kohler guarantees your a precursor, but same as in sports, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. If you don’t kill Kohler, that’s one less chance at an exotic.

@ daphoenix: Chased you away from the east gate a couple times tonight. It was entertaining to fight you. Fighting knowing I can’t kill you, but you most likely can’t kill me either, as a Hammer/Shout Guardian.

@ Sir WilliamPD: He’s on vacation. Nice of you to be friendly to the server you left I suppose. As to your whole “I expected a better fight out of DH” You obviously didn’t have much faith in the server before, since you decided to leave.

Winning isn’t what’s fun in WvW. No one cares when you win at the end of the week. But during the week, you sure want to strive for it, and fight hard, and that’s the fun part. Trying to win is more fun than the actual victory at the end.

I use that build with 6 Lyssa Runes. Strength Sigil in Sword and Hammer and Accuracy in shield

Interesting note, if you take the trait “focused mind” it allows you to cast mediation instantly, which in turn allows you to cast smite condition while feared.

Will it cleanse the fear off you? Maybe if there are no other conditions on your character.

Stuns on the other hand are not considered conditions, so this will not remove a stun/knock down. You can still cast it I believe and it will cleanse a condition while stunned/knocked down.

I have Boons flying all over the place in the course of a fight. Nevermind the rest of the heals I have, like Selfless Daring, and Shield 5.

Yes it’s better when in a group, but it’s a very noticeable amount of healing in a solo fight. You combine AH with Regen being up close to 100% of the time and having Protection near 100% of the time, and I’m pretty sturdy, with a lot of damage from Hammer and Sword attacks.

Some of our abilities, some of our traits are dependent on allies being around us. Ultralistic healing does nothing with no allies around to buff/heal you. 1v1 sPvP is vastly different then 1v1 in WvWvW. I am talking about the later.

Alturistic Healing counts boons you put on yourself. In a shout build with a hammer and Empowering Might, that’s thousands of points of healing per fight.

How am I suppose to know who’s doing it? And I hold all of them responsible. They used the portal that the cheater set up, so they are just as guilty.

You right click the person’s portrait and choose report. You’ll see their username. You can take a screenshot of it.

Frankly, wild accusations like this do nothing. I brought up a potential speedhacker earlier for Dragonbrand, but I made it clear I wasn’t able to get the evidence in time, nor did I hold all of Dragonbrand responsible, and they didn’t jump down my throat for it. In fact, I’m sure some of the more honorable players on DB would report it. Just like I’d report any DH hacker I saw.

If there’s one thing that Ask and I have made very clear is that we have a 0 tolerance in GoF for any hackers. If someone provided us proof that one of our guildies were hacking, not only would they be gkicked, I’d report them myself.

If you can’t provide proof of a hacker, then don’t stir up drama about it, be productive.

Valkyrie gear has Vitality+20 points in Honor. I’m at 15.5k with hammer, ad 17k with Sword and Shield. 1800 Power and 1600 Toughness. 45% crit with Hammer 50% crit with S/S. I think 48% bonus crit damage. I’m at work so these are just off the top of my head.

Shelter is also very good vs D/D Thieves. So is Ring of Warding. There’s nothing better than blocking a pair of Deathblossoms, immobilizing a thief, smacking them for 4k+ with Mighty Blow, and then Ring of Warding, and watch them try and run in panic, only to get knocked down 2-3 times. (Yes RoW does bug sometimes, but works more often than not)

Again, this kind of build is fine if you don’t actually want to do any damage, which to me is not fun. For some, it is fun to survive and force a zerg to chase you down. If that is your cup of tea, go for it. Mine is to do average dmg output while not being exploded from aoe and insane burst dps from other glass cannons, but without proper CC, it is hard for a guardian.

Hammer and Sword do fantastic damage. Hammer provides a more reliable burst on a shorter CD than a Greatsword, and Sword has a high burst single target attack.

Hammer and Shield also provide great CC to stop Glass Cannons from killing me.

I’ll probably start recording some WvW fights soon just to show.

Had to delete and repost the move (made by a Dragonbrand Engineer) cause I posted it twice by mistake.

So, Dragonbrand has a speedhacking Asura thief. Sadly I missed grabbing his guild name as he ported away from me before I could hit report.

Yes I know about Steal, Infiltrator Shot, Heartseeker and the number of other Thief abilities that can close and make gaps. This was notable in and out of combat as “lagging” around over great distances, much farther and frequent than any class could use abilities. Just keep an eye out.

I like the Seraph one, for some reason. The tiny head as a focus point for smashy time.

I liked Logan in the Personal Story, then hated him from AC>CoF (Especially in TA) And then liked him again in CoF>Arah.

You can switch your 2 runes of Dwayna for 2 Major Runes of Sanctuary and get another 10% overall boon duration.

Personally I use 6 runes of Lyssa for the huge boon boost and condition removal on Elite use.

The current known information is that the Bag of Gems drops from dungeon chests, and is soulbound. The recipe is known to take a Bag of Gems, Scroll of Eldritch, and it seems an unknown amount of Mystic Coins and a 4th item.
