6 Runes of Lyssa gives you Stability when you cast the tomes (or any elite)

It’s nice.

Pick up the ground targettable consecrations trait. It makes Sanctuary instant cast, and you can use it to quickly protect allies by shaking people off them in a fight, or knock people off a bridge from a distance in WvW. The trait allows you to be much more creative with the spell.

Get your underwater weapons to at least Masterwork 80s (Greens)

If you’re uncomfortable underwater, use Spirit Hammer and Spirit Greatsword.

You can also bandage on the move underwater.

It’s a thing with any class and staffs, too. Any projectile with Trident and Staff you shoot with your left hand. Staff and Trident are basically 2H caster weapons, so it makes sense in the context of the game.

Doesn’t work. Balance needs to go both ways to work properly. Sometimes up, sometimes down.

The Trident is an underwater Staff. That’s why you shoot spells like you’re holding a staff. I suppose it’s cause it’s an iconic magical underwater weapon. Poseidon and Aquaman and such.

The spear is much more Martial.

There’s another thread they replied to this on. You’re supposed to still be able to enter the instance where the southern PoI is (Similar to how you can enter story related instances in all of the starter cities) but the instance is turned off. They know and are fixing it.

I just spoke to someone that had an ArenaNet logo next to their name in game, and while he was busy with other bug fixes, I did bring this to his attention, and he said they’d fix it, if there’s a bug (he wasn’t 100% sure, as that wasn’t what he was working on at the time)

What is wrong with Anet rewarding high level players with content when they have worked hard and supported the game from the beginning.

Iv supported this game from the beginning, I bought the art of guild wars 2 book when it was released YEARS ago.

I prepurchased the game and have have 2 lvl 80 characters and a lvl 65.

I dont think its wrong for people like me to benifit from these events more than others because we have worked harder and prepared.

I dont think its wrong for me to want to be rewarded for my support and hard work over people who just bought the game a week ago and now want all this high end content for free.

I bought over 2000 gems for this event with gold that I earned through legitimate means. Let me benifit form that please.

Have you set up your slot skills for underwater?

I found that most warriors that felt weak underwater with a 5 signet build, neglected to put the 5 signets on their bars underwater.

Newbie swimming tip: Judge’s Intervention helps a lot with getting near a mob without being disoriented.

Spirit Weapons are also a great underwater choice.

Greatsword 5 to Hammer 5 with AoE friends backing you up is also great. The panic as they try and leave the Ward to get out of the AoE, and just get knocked down 2-3 times, is hilarious.

I don’t know what it is, but it seems that people love to play against our server, despite some of the trash talk back and forth (expected, it’s competition!)

So somehow, someone not sure which side whether it was ehmry or northern somehow got into our orb room smashed the pedestal and took it, yet no one was attacking our keep, so it was obviously a hacked in EH. kitten move.

EH is Etheron Hills in the Ehmry Bay Borderlands.

Just got repulsed on Ogres by Darkhaven after repelling a keep siege in EB against far superior numbers. On ogres we got the gate down and were fighting 1:1 inside and winning. But right before we wiped em Darkhaven swooped in behind to make it 3:1 odds.

I gotta say Dark, you’re going to need to get better if you are going up a tier. You have numbers at night but that’s it. If Ehrmy Bay can break a far superior force (with shiverpeaks harassing both till we drove em off) and then only fails a keep siege against even numbers thanks to a hardcore zerg? Well, others will tear you apart.

I can’t give yall a good overall grade. You’re day crew is smart fighters and win the big picture with the help of Shiverpeaks being not so wise. You’re night crew appears to be the base zerg level skill from what I’ve face of them to date. I admit being a bit disappointed.

I’m going to have to agree after all this time that your win is primarily based on the peak time differential and night capping. But at least you’re better than Northern Shiverpeaks. Shame I eventually ended up at this conclusion but seriously yall best prepare for tiers that actually field night crews or you’re going to get hit hard by the skill differential.

Look at it from this standpoint, SoR is completely dominating the tier above us, virtually non-stop. We dominated them (complete and total domination) at night time. We have improved vastly since then. You likely ran into an unorganized zerg or something. Run into the HNN’s zerg, trust me, completely different story.

Also, our two sides meet at peak times (we both peak at prime time). We still win by quite a large amount. This tactic of tearing others down does nothing. We’ve lead at prime time consistently (which I can prove using screenshots if need be). We’re winning because our macro organization is superior, and because we have a significant night time advantage in numbers thanks to dedicated NA players.

What Ralathar is saying is partially correct. We have serious cohesion issues with coordination on Darkhaven. It can be extremely frustrating at times. We would do MUCH better if we had better cohesion and organization.

All it’s going to take is for us to face a sizable force that has good strategy and we will be screwed.

There’s several guilds working on getting server cohesion. I think the main issue right now is that most people still don’t understand how to win WvW. Or they don’t care. They just want to farm Karma or zerg things.

I rebound all my class specific (F1-4) to Shift1-4.

I think you need to reevaluate the situation quercus. The EB folks are putting up a fight in their home borderlands right now.

I don’t know why everyone is always hating on DH like it’s the worst server in the game. A lot of us are trying to make the effort to make the server better and do well in WvW, and other people are always like “I’m from DH and we suck”

I’m from DH, and I’d rather show server pride and improve our game, rather than sit and whine that we aren’t that good for this that and the other reason.

My guild as a whole, as well as several others have put forth a lot of effort to work with each other this week. Mad thanks to RE, HVN, Zzzz, SFFR, and all the others this week!

This honestly couldn’t be further from the truth. The average – semi hardcore player will NEVER amass enough gold for these weapons. I know because I am neither, I’m currently sitting at 370g after dropping 120+ exotics into the forge and getting literally nothing back. Could I personally spend a week in game and get another 100-150g to buy it off the post? Maybe, but then I would be playing the game in a way that is not fun to me, the person who bought it, then I would be grinding even more than I already do, in a game where the building blocks were said to be that of anti grind.

Some insight:
Average gold income for a player is ~1-5 gold a day. That’s 80 days of farming at 5 gold income. That’s pretty unrealistic considering some days I don’t even make 5g. All of that farming, to be dropped in less than a second to buy the item off the TP, at current prices for the greatswords. This kind of grinding again, does not reflect the words of ANET prior to release. This is also assuming that the prices do not fluctuate, which has shown to be untrue, since the price is going up by 50-100g a week or more.

These people, can NEVER (unless they literally win the lottery) get a precursor because due to the rarity, the price will continue to go up.

There are far better ways that could be thought of to get the precursor, like additional instances (story line-esque) requiring you to be skillful at your class (dropping ever increasing sums of gold is not the only or best solution), achievement based, or the many other ways people have brought up in other discussions. Leaving it as is is beneficial to the people who already have the items, and not the player base at large.

I have been sitting with 3/4 of my legendary done for weeks. That last 1/4 I need (after already getting my 77 clovers from the RNG nightmare) is 1 exotic sword. I have spent VAST amounts of gold on this 1 item, more gold than a good percentage of the player base will ever have in their inventory, and I have literally NOTHING to show for it.

Then the average to semi-hardcore player never gets a legendary. Anet has already said they’d step in if they feel like it’s getting out of hand. I’d love to get my legendary right away, but I don’t have the stomach to chain farm Karma and gold. I’ve accepted that it could be weeks and maybe months before I get my Juggernaut.

The game isn’t forcing you to be here. People are being disappointed by not getting a legendary on a self imposed timeline. I figure that if it does get truly out of hand, expect an alternate way to get the precursors to show up. I like the idea of world bosses dropping precursors. Or making a precursor with equally rare components. Who knows? Maybe they don’t do anything, precursors fly to 1000g per, and no one ever gets a legendary again (this is doubtful based on Anets previous statements)

Frankly I think that most people are over reacting to the whole situation because they’re burning themselves out trying to rush to a Legendary. There seems to be some sense of entitlement of “if I put X amount of time in, I should get Y no matter what” and frankly, that just isn’t the case right now.

Here is my experience with simin.

I spent 4 hours on this lady. Swapping out members every hour or so because theyd give up. We tried pretty much everything.

Some notes about simin:
her stealth is based on hp and time. But it works like this
1st stealth – Her first stealth is always ~50% hp.
2nd stealth and onward – Her second and all subsequent stealths are based on a few things. 1. what is her HP before she de-stealthed. If it’s over 60% hp then her next stealth will be at 50%. If it’s under 60% hp then her next stealth is based on time

She also seems to regen faster the lower hp she has. What this means is that either you outright kill her between that second stealth, or you never kill her at all unless you can consistantly get the sparks to the traps in under 10 seconds. Which rarely happens.

Indeed, every video i’ve seen of this boss utilizes 2 bugs.
1. extra spark – Sometimes, rarely an extra spark spawns. When this occurs, the next time she stealths, the sparks will all instantly die
2. 1 spark clear – sometimes it will only require 1 spark to the statue to make them all die.
Using these groups can get lucky and have a fight go like this:
simin stealths
goes over 60%
extra spark is alive
she goes to 50, stealths, sparks all die instantly
bursted down to ~25% hp, stealths, single spark gets ran to center, she destealths and they kill her.

This however is completely frustrating to me, as literally every kill of her ive seen uses one or more of those bugs. meaning during the 4 hours I fought her where they didnt occur, it was basically impossible for us.

the bugs I was plagued with were instead sparks that didnt trigger circles, or circles that didnt indicate they still needed a spark. Causing basically every other spark lure to take well over 20 seconds.

If I were to fix simin
1. make sparks melee – luring ranged monsters is stupid. Either make them melee, or hell, change them to melee risen or something if sparks need to stay ranged. Basically just let us lure melee things instead
2. make the circles work properly – for starters I should easily be able to tell which circle doesnt have a spark. I should also not have to lure that spark over said circle 4 times before its accepted. Make the circles distinct, maybe color change or something. And make them check for a spark every 5th of a second or something. So I dont have to keep re-luring over them
3. maybe lower simins regen – I would call this a last resort nerf. But the encounter might just be too much like CoF in that you need 5 DPS and incredible luck to do it
4. fix her firestorms – it’s weird that her AOE can randomly shift between doing 800, 5000, and 9000 damage to me. Have different indications per damage, or fix them to actually be consistent damage.
5. change petrification – if simin is gunning for you, then there is literally nothing you can do. At one point I burned through literally 20 tears in a matter of seconds because everytime I cured my teammate she re-petrified him. I would seriously pick up a tear, throw it, then pick up another one and throw that and they would both remove separate petrification from him.

Right now this boss is INCREDIBLY buggy. There’s not actually a single mechanic in this boss fight that seems to be working properly. horrendously sloppy work and im saddened that it got the A-ok somewhere in the chain of command.

If you’re good enough, or strive for it long enough, yes. But it sounds like you want it made easier. I want to win the GSL for SC2, but I don’t have the time or skills to invest into the game to make me good enough to do it.

Sometimes you don’t win in the game. I don’t know why that’s an issue. Get better, try harder. Don’t always be begging for it to be made easier just cause you don’t like it.

Make sure they’re actually discovery recipes, and not ones learned from levelling up.

I believe there is a convoluted way, by making a second character, playing through the story again (but choosing the vigil), buying the sword with that character, then transmuting the sword’s look into a level 0 white sword, which allows you to transfer it to your original character via your bank (it will say soulbound, but your other characters can get it). You can then transmute the sword again to an exotic (or whatever), making it soulbound again.

I’m not sure if this still works. I have a feeling that Arena Net will at some point consider this “an exploit” and make it impossible to do, while adding no “legitimate” way for players to change orders, or even see the gear before deciding which order they want to join.

Edit: Tested (with a different sword) and it still seems to work. Either way, caveat emptor, etc..

However, I think the real solution would be to make tokens an account currency like gems, glory… It’s just an inconvenience moving them around your inventory/bank.

Shield of Jormag get’s knocked off pretty easy. You just have to do 66 separate attacks on him. Multi hit attacks are awesome for this. He’s always had a high number on him, it just gets burned off fast when everyone focuses him.
