So again this is just another example of someone just looking at one small aspect of the problem and insulting others because it doesn’t apply to them.

This kinda sums up your entire post to me.

It almost affects SoS more than any other US server because we have such a tiny US presence. Regardless of whom we fight, so long as the opponent server has a US presence, we will lose everything that we worked for.

Its unfair to suggest that point changes are made for “night time” because that directly affects the people in the Oceanic region, just because they another part of the world.

But that’s just where the selfishness comes in. When you lot refer to “night time” you refer to US off-peak, like US is the only country in the world that matters.

Build a bridge, get over it. Oh and if the precious US are the only ones getting the short end of the stick, the current score for our match against Tarnished Coast and Gates of Madness is:

TC: 124,495
SoS: 99,586
GoM: 63,791

This proves my point that if we are to go against any US force that also has a Oceanic presence, we lose. We will always lose until we get a US team. And like Brynna said, if changes are made so points are reduced in the US off-peak, Oceanics may as well not enter WvW anymore.

What the hell that a professional software development team that provided a bugged system to replace a normal system? Its horrible in IT world! If the system not working properly, why not take it down and rollback to old one? This is a common sense in developing!

“Again, the DR system will only ever affect you if you complete the path in under 30 minutes.” Sorry, fanboy. The truth is DR system is affect the guys who haven’t play dungeons several days. My guild members fighting for our world in WvW a few days. About 3 to 4 days. Then he got a team to the dungeon and get 15 tokens of this run. Why? How? WTH of the DR system doing? Could you please answer me?

Close the eyes and just keep “ANet is doing right” in mind is just Brainwashing. Face to the fact!

Okay, I understand. Because I am trying to make people like you understand that 1. The system is to prevent exploiters, not regular players and 2. that although this is the intent, the system is still buggy, it makes me a fan boy.

Or it makes you mad and you just want to flail your arms around because you aren’t getting what you want, when you want it.

I did play GW1. For several years, on and off. But guess what, buddy? This isn’t Guild Wars 1! It’s Guild Wars 2~!

Completely different game. The people who wanted to stay in GW2 have stayed. Those who were waiting for another game, have left.

Guild Wars 2 is also a new game, with features consistently being added to prevent farmers, bots etc for getting what they want. So what if the DR isn’t working properly at the moment? Complex coding, things go wrong.
Yea its annoying when things don’t go your way, but then again, 90% of the posters on this forum are people who are mad that things didn’t go their way.

And tell me, sir. How are you being punished if you are completing the dungeon in roughly the time that Arena.Net intended? Again, the DR system will only ever affect you if you complete the path in under 30 minutes. Its obvious Arena.Net didn’t intend for players to finish it that quickly, so what’s the issue?

If they would remove the Gift of Zhaitan requirement from the legendary staff, I could happily ignore Arah. However, because it’s there and I want the staff, I have to deal with poor game design. I am defining poor game design as something that requires too much time, too high of a learning curve and doesn’t provide enough of a reward. Designing game content that maybe 20% of your players will ever see is foolish in my opinion.

You’re trying to craft a legendary and you’re complaining about something that requires too much time.

Too much of a learning curve? Get over it, literally.These dungeons aren’t supposed to be easy.

How are only 20% of the players seeing the content? GW2 = skill based game, you don’t need gear, a ton of time, money, gold or anything other than your own skill to complete the content in GW2.

I love all the nerd ragers in here screaming “How dare they make it so I get punished for clearing content too quickly!”. When in other games, if you clear it quickly, it means you have to wait even longer to even be able to enter (only by hours, but still).
So that company is saying, you can only run this dungeon once a week per toon. Too bad, so sad.
If you run too many dungeons in a certain time in WoW, you can’t even enter for like an hour.

Yet when Arena.Net implements a system to limit the amount of tokens people get in a certain time frame to prevent farming, people get mad. You can still run the dungeon. You can still ENTER the dungeon. And if you’re clearing an explorable in under 30 mins, its either not hard enough, or you’re exploiting, imo. These dungeons aren’t supposed to be easy, loot pinatas that you can complete in 20 minutes.

Arena.Net is not trying to punish the players who are good. They are trying to punish those who find exploits within the dungeons. If people weren’t so mad all the time and think with a level head, they would understand that the DR will not apply to them if they are doing the dungeon legitimately.

@tribeca The patch is only new. Not even 2 days old. Give them time to fix the bugs. That patch should be coming 1/10.

My group had a similar problem the day before yesterday.

Whilst we managed to kill most of them – Claymores are very annoying.. – when I teleported after dying, the 2 remaining mobs came with me. Luckily I had a couple people there with me. So it does appear to be a bug

The only thing I can suggest is not die, haha. It is a pretty harsh trash pull as they all come at once and in a single file, making it easy for someone to be ganked by the Claymores spinning attack.

So, Arena.Net should dumb down all of their dungeons to cater to the whining masses that want instant gratification?

Right. Okay. There is already a game out that does that.

Too difficult for pugs and non-geared 80s to do

The only reason that it is too difficult is because too many people can’t be bothered putting some effort into it. All bosses have a strat to them. Pugs just don’t want to earn their gear. Too many people want their gear fed to them. Not really their fault, they’re conditioned that way.

Gear is NOT a factor in Guild Wars 2. That is a fact. You do not need full exotics to clear any of the content.

And again, I said that the explorables are a part of the level 80 content because the tokens reward you with level 80 exotics. Which adds to my point about gear. Don’t want to craft/explore/karma farm? Do explorable dungeons!

They are a part of lvl 80 content because the exotics are level 80. Yes you can do the explorables earlier and even get rares for the appropriate level.

Also, if you re-read what I type, I said I see them as that. Me personally. My opinion.

Bad tuning because they want a wider audience to be able to experience the explorables? Oh gawd, sounds game breaking.

Awh it’s shame that you feel that way. I see explorable dungeonskitten man raids – comparison to WoW. The similarities are.. they’re a part of the level 80 (max) content and seen as endgame . The differences are.. they’re hard and they’re most likely not going to get nerfed because of people complaining that they’re hard.

There are people completing the explorable dungeons. There are threads stating that they cleared Magg’s route. So obviously they’re not impossible. They merely take skill and time. Good job for getting him down to 25%! Its progress, right?
Explorable dungeons aren’t supposed to be a breeze. They aren’t suppose to be an instant gratification generator for all the people who think they’re just loot pinatas. Sadly the MMO community has now been flooded by them.

Explorable dungeons give tokens that reward exotic armour and weapons. Crafting gives exotics. Exploring gives exotics. Exotics can be a rare drop from a mob. Arena.Net put in multiple options for people to obtain exotics so people aren’t forced to do 1 game mode to get the gear.

Too many people see these dungeons as they would WoW raids. Easy, free loot. If they cry long enough, they get them nerfed. However, Arc, think back to Heroic Spine. I didn’t do the encounter. But the best players in the world were stuck on that boss for what, 2 weeks? More? Two weeks to defeat ONE boss.

Explorable Dungeons are a part of the end-game content for Guild Wars 2. People need to start accepting that they aren’t a push over. Be grateful Arena.Net has provided you with a challenge.

Heaven forbid players have to EARN their gear these days.

We made a compromise. Whilst we have not yet spoken with FUN, we still want to include them in the Union.

Some guilds are unwilling to cooperate with FUN, however, this does not mean we should not exclude anyone from the Union.

As Pelum said, Brynna and I (moderators of Union) will coordinate with guilds to have the guilds work on different maps. If the guilds do not want to work together, we will find other guilds that are willing.

Again, can we please get a moderator to close this.

As a moderator of the Sea of Sorrows Union, I would first like to apologize on behalf of the Union. It is my view that ALL of the guilds of Sea of Sorrows need to work together if we are to succeed in World vs. World.

The Union recently had it’s first meeting and we gave guilds a priority map order. Unfortunately the first day we had very few guilds on and the queues were disrupting any real progress. So with that being said, I’d like to thank FUN for joining in on the fight in SoS Border.

FUN, I have asked one of the other Moderators, Marcus Harlion, to speak to you, but I would also like to personally extend an invitation to you to join the Sea of Sorrows Union.

As Pharcyde has said, myself and Brynna Swiftarrow, working with the leader of Dark Immunity [DI], have created the Sea of Sorrows Union [SoSU]. We have around 15 guild leaders – and some co leaders – in the SoSU guild and it acts as a place where the leaders can convene on an equal footing.

The SoSU’s first official meeting is being held tonight at 8pm AEST (3 and a half hours away).

Do you not SEE what this is doing to your game, Arena.Net? Open your eyes and LOOK at what is happening at the SoS Eternal Battleground spawn. There are pictures of players recruiting players to another server because TRANSFERS ARE STILL FREE.

Sea of Sorrows’ team is weak enough, we accept we don’t stand a chance against Eredon Terrace. But at this rate, I doubt we’ll be a match for many other servers either.

so lets go to the list.

1. we are not cheating, we are however recruiting. at this point we GAIN NOTHING by trying to spy on you. when this was taken you literally had +0 points. recruiting is also not cheating or exploiting, its a fact of life in wvw.

2. the guy from reddit who claims he was a ruin leader. never a leader in our organization. he was one of towellie’s fans who had officer in the fan guild. he was using his power as an officer to push his live stream on our members. we slapped him on the wrist and told him to stop being a child…. and the post thats on reddit showed up. AGAIN HE IS NOT AND HAS NEVER BEEN A RESPECTED MEMBER OF OUR ORGANIZATION.

3. if we were spying on you.. would we really send our guild leader of all people over wearing the most used guild tag in the game to go and advertise in chat that he was from eredon terrace? (try and muster up those 2 brains cells to realize why this wouldnt work) ark is there to take screenshots, and recruit neither of which is against the TOU

Mate, I think your guilds rep has been soiled enough. You say your guild wouldn’t prevent us at least trying in another thread, but changed your mind here? Your leader is trying to recruit Oceanics to your server, I think that is the very definition of hindering our efforts.

No one cares what you have to say. Your guild is a joke. You use cheap tactics and your “guild leader” proves it. Don’t be too upset because you’ve been exposed.

This is not Player vs Player. This is Player vs Player with Siege Weapon. PvPSW.

They call that WvW. It just so happens that Eternal Battlegrounds is a WvW zone.

According to many people in this thread what goes on in the jumping puzzle is actually PvP.
It’s a PvP Jumping Puzzle. Not a WvW zone.There are no destructible walls or forts that can captured. So then why are siege weapons allowed to be built.

Eredon Terrace has a lower population than both Sea of Sorrows and Isle on Janthir. It’s because Eredon Terrace has an a working Alliance that they are doing so well.

I have also observed the huge lack of coordination and cooperation from pugs and guilds alike on SoS. As MaximumPanda said, guilds need to stop flaunting their kittens and work together SoS wants to achieve anything in WvW.

Pelum and I have been talking about the Sea of Sorrows Union[SoSU] as a means to bring together the leaders of each guild so that we might communicate properly and on an even ground – it’s no ones guild. We invite dedicated WvW players on Sea of Sorrows to whisper myself, Pelum or Brynna Swiftarrow to get this guild off the ground.
I also encourage any Sea of Sorrows guild that is interested in WvW to also pst one of us.

The Union currently consists of 3 guilds. We hope to expand as soon as possible.

Re: SoS attacking IoJ it not from lack of trying by guilds on those servers to get them to focus on ET. Ruin (ET Guild) has players on SOS leading the Zerg around dropping siege even to keep them moving on IoJ assets. Try as we might our players are largely puppets and seem to enjoy it.

raf. as a director of PVP in ruin i can tell you that, that is a flat out lie. ruin does not engage in cross realming. it ruins (heh) the spirit of the game by manipulating the forces of another server. anyone who is doing this is violating our guild rules and if reported will be removed.

that said i would be lying if i said that we weren’t intentionally driving this win home. our key weakness is that ET has a very VERY small oceanic presence, and as it stands HOD main claim to victory is offhours play. ET was expecting to play HOD this week, but due to match making we have been given the opportunity to prepare for the battle for a week. it just so happens that we are given 2 servers with very heavy oceanic guilds, by winning we hope to prove to these guilds that combined our day force and your night force would be powerful enough to match the power of HOD and prove for a better combined assault.

tl:dr we aren’t cross realming and we are hoping to recruit guilds to ET

Spirit of the game? Do you know what Eredon Terrace does on all of the Borderlands? You farm both Isle of Janthir and Sea of Sorrows at their spawn. You built Siege Weapons outside SoS EB spawn point.
I sat on the Eredon Terrace Borderlands for half an hour, observing the pathetic cheapness of your server. I sat invulnerable outside my own spawn point and still 30 Eredon Terrace players sat and spammed abilities against me.

Let me just insert a blanket statement to all those saying “It’s a PvP area, if you don’t like it, leave”.

I do not care, at all, about the Player vs Player (read: players fighting each other directly/using player skills against each other). I partook in it myself, fearing people off of obstacles.

This is not Player vs Player. This is Player vs Player with Siege Weapon. PvPSW.

Define: Siege Weapon. – A siege engine is a device that is designed to break or circumvent city walls and other fortifications in siege warfare.

Tell me. Where is the wall that these weapons are supposed to be breaking down inside a jumping puzzle? I know that Arrow Carts aren’t used against walls, but they are categorized as a Siege Weapon.

To the people saying that I should use Retaliation.
1) I don’t have a pocket Guardian that I can spawn next to me to use Retaliation.
2) I don’t have any long lasting Retaliation myself.
3) It’s going be fixed

Players in that jumping puzzle have TRAPS that can manually activate. How is it any way, shape or form FAIR for these people to be able to also use Siege Weapons when I wouldn’t even have a chance of setting down my own.

It is griefing because they camp there for hours, preventing any one else from getting up. That is exactly what the traps are for, to make it hard for the players who are making their way up the puzzle. Hard. Not impossible.
Never did I say I want them to be banned. I want Siege Weapons to be undeployable in the jumping puzzle. This wouldn’t even be a problem if it could be countered. If I could actively fight back.

I also enjoy all the people who are trolling this topic.

This question has already been asked, but I will ask it again.

Tell me how to get up this particular jumping puzzle when they are using 3 Arrow Carts and a Mortar against you and you have no way of stopping them?

Keep in mind that when you are in combat it becomes very difficult to cross the puzzle, with swiftness it is doable. But when you fail, you fall into a pack of Veterans, courtesy of the traps that the players are given. On top of that, when you finally do get across most of the puzzle, all 3 Arrow Carts and the Mortar turn and all shoot at you simultaneously.

Please answer me this question, all those who think this is fair.

Arena.Net has already stated in the past when WvW was first being released to the public, that if anything they would encourage this sort of play. It’s how WvW is supposed to work. It’s war. Just beware when backing a strong force into a corner.

Even if there is an Alliance, once they have done what they wanted to do with Blackgate, what then? They fight each other. If they are teaming up against Blackgate, that means Blackgate is more than likely strong enough to beat back 1 server.
So once the Alliance turns on each other, Blackgate will come back to mop up the mess.

Tell me, how is this is PvP when:
1) If I try to set down my own siege weapon, it will obviously get destroyed and I can’t attack theirs.
2) They have a TRAP that they can activate.
It’s Player vs Siege Engine that we can’t attack.
It’s griefing.

I get what you mean, that it’s not intended to be fair. That’s why they get player activated traps and can already shoot down at us. But I get that. That’s the point of it being PvP. I don’t mind that.
Or how about you tell the people on your server to not be so cheap and let us up so we can tear you apart?
And as Azure said, players can be countered. A siege weapon we can’t even see.

You pull three silvers?

Why would you show us videos of a class this is already bad enough in all aspects when you’re in full MF gear?
What utility? All your utilities are personal ones. Your minions which do nothing but stand and act as meat shields. They do very little dmg and their AI is poor.
You can heal. What is your point? What does that even mean?
Dmg to group. Everyone can do dmg to a group. All melee can do massive amounts of dmg to the group just be pressing the number 1 button.
“But so can staff Necros!” – only if they’re in a straight line.

MF suit again, and you obviously missed the point of both these which is our healing tankiness everyone cries we dont have.

Again. Veteran. Any class can stand there and kill a veteran. The only difference is, Necromancer takes 4 times as long to kill said veteran. It doesn’t matter how much healing or “tankiness” we have access to. If we’re taking longer to do something, we’re going to take more damage.

As for Plague Signet.

Have a look around at the other threads. It has been proven and I have tested this myself. It doesn’t draw conditions from allies. It has been discovered that it actually replicates the conditions on them without even putting them on the Necro.

Never have I been so infuriated by something in my entire life.

Let me explain the situation. I’m doing the jumping puzzle, all well and good. Fall quite a few times in the dark room, it’s my 2nd time, 1st time getting to that part. I fought a couple people, feared people off of things (I’m a Necro).

What I wasn’t expecting though was the room after the dark room. I enter to find about 10 of us (Sea of Sorrows) attempting to get across the puzzle. When I walk in all I see is minotaurs and the cages, all kinda clicked relatively quickly – cages and mob spawns activated by players above us.

What didn’t click was the fact that the players above us had built 3 arrow carts and a mortar.

How the hell is this fair? It completely prevents us from getting across the puzzle. Not only did we have to contend with a pack of Veteran Minotaurs/Gryphons/Drakes, we had to deal with the players attacking us from above AND the siege weapons that were built.

After about 30 minutes of trying and failing, mixed attempts, some terrible due to being stuck in combat, they all jumped down after we had just tried to deal with a pack of mobs. That part is again, normal. PvP and a bit of a cheap shot due to the mobs. But they were lovely enough to leave 2 people up to shoot at us with the arrow carts.

Arena.Net. Is this intended? Are players supposed to be able to create siege weapons in the middle of a jumping puzzle? Is it not enough that we have to deal with player activated traps, let alone any amount of siege weapons that people may bring in?

Keep the traps and the PvP aspect of it, that is fine. I don’t care about that. But it’s ludicrous that players are allowed to bombard us with siege weapons.
And it’s not like I can come back later. No one is going to get past that area and now everyone knows that that area can now be griefed.

Also, I don’t know if this is a bug or not, or if other people have experienced it, but I find that when I hit abilities that can be cancelled with the same key (Plague, Death Shroud) too quickly (so a double tap) it will shape shift me in and out instantly and I activate the cooldown without being able to do anything with the spell. Would be great to see a 1 second internal CD or a global CD to prevent it.

So, I stopped watching at the 2nd video and a part of Video 3

Video 1: Well done, you took no dmg from a couple of silver mobs and a bunch on normals, using your minions as meat shields. What were we supposed to learn from that? Yay Necromancers can use their useless minions as meat shields?

Video 2: You took down a veteran at the end of the video because most of the video was of you killing 2 normals mobs with our underpowered Dagger.

Hmmkay. When Necros can survive like you did AND do the damage to the mobs in CoF, like ……. any of the other classes can, I’ll call them balanced. OP? What you did was kill some mobs like the rest of us are doing. Slowly. Whilst everyone else is killing them quickly.

What is OP about anything in any of the videos? You were useless in the first part of the first pvp battle at WF. You missed your imob and.. i think all of your marks missed.

I rarely post on official forums but due to the frustration that has been building in me for about 2 weeks (since lvl 80), I thought I would for once.

I agree with this thread and every other thread that has been made about the uselessness of Necromancers. At first I was in my little happy bubble of denial. I thought we were fine.
I do decently in PvP, slowly learned how to counter other profession like Thieves, Warriors. I run a Axe/Focus Dagger/Dagger Power/Tough/Prec build that works pretty nicely.
I do quite well in PvE, I have my bleeds to 101 per tick! I have decent support, my wells are, in my opinion, quite handy. Our Elites are kinda lack luster.. especially our Flesh Golem considering the AI of minions is atrocious. I do not use minions because of that.

However, slowly but surely, I became to notice things. What is the point of a Conditionmancer in any game type when:
1) We stack Bleeds so much SLOWER than any other class
2) We do TINY damage when we’re stacking them

On top of that, 2 of our most important traits don’t even stack. And I’m not talking about PvE or PvP atm, it’s in both.

Seriously, what is the point? I don’t know anything about any other profession because I love my Necromancer. I do not want to reroll. But seriously, how much damage can a Warrior/Engi/Thief do whilst stacking bleeds?

What is the point of trying a Power/Prec build when our TWO burst skills in TWO different weapons do a MAXIMUM of 3000 damage? Not to mention they’re on a giant cooldown and when they are down, yay! 300 damage for the next 15 seconds whilst the Warrior I’m trying to kill who has just as much HP and more armour, is going to slam my face into the ground if I get stack in any form of stun. I’m sure all the PvPers are saying “Death Shroud, stun break” etc. That’s not the point. The point is that I do 3k dmg to these people when they don’t use a CD. They don’t need to. Because we are so weak. What if they use Protection when I did that? 2100 dmg if my math is correct?
That doesn’t even scratch an Elementalist in Fire Attunement.

Fear. Almost the definition of the Necromancer. Why, pray tell, do our 2 Fears last a TOTAL of 2 seconds. 2 Fears. 2 seconds. 1 second each.
Thieves stolen Fear: 3 seconds.
Warrior’s “Fear Me!”: 3 seconds.
What?

Damage is my main concern to be honest. We are out matched by everyone else no matter what we do. Conditions are our forte, yet we’re the weakest in it. We are useless in zergs because bleeds are capped at 25. I love getting bronze because I can’t do any damage!
Suggestion: Lose the cap, use diminishing returns.

Again, I don’t want to reroll. I like my Necromancer. It has flaws, as do all the professions.
But when Necromancers don’t even get a single Mod response in the forums. When GUARDIANS get “Some hammer love” and Necromancers don’t even get acknowledged!

Sorry, Arena.Net. Not good enough. Get your priorities straight. At least TALK to us and let us know what you’re doing.
