Mainly in PvP but also in PvE fast keybinds are very important and it’s very beneficial to bind your immunity or stunbreak to an quick-to-reach key, but here’s the problem: on mesmer it’s F4, on guardian it’s your elite skill, on elementalist it’s your utility skill etc. and this makes it impossible to make serious keybinds for multiple classes.
For example as a thief you only have to bind one class specific skill but when you decide to try out mesmer u realise u used all your good binds already and they have 3 more skills to bind. Constant keybind switching is really boring and discouraging playing different classes.
This would be even better if Anet would let us save keybinds for each build once they implement their build templates(if it hasn’t been cancelled).

Dodging twice immediately and getting hit inbetween is no fun so I’d suggest to make it queue up like skills do: When you double dodge you should be able to press dodge at the end of your first dodge, this way you would dodge again immediately, just like when you dodge and press an attack you get execute the skill immediately after the dodge was finished.
This can be already reached through non-legit macros, and this gives players an advantage over others.
Getting hit inbetween 2 dodges is just frustating anyway so noone likes it.
This should apply to using a skill and pressing dodge at the end of it as well.(especially movement skills because you can’t dodge during them)

-Necros should lose life force until they are at 50% when out of combat (always stacking up 100% is just too good and unlike adrenaline u can keep it forever)
-Mesmers should get some baseline condition remove options for example on torch 5
-S/D thieves: don’t make the auto attack reset after any kind of skill usage unlike any other class. OR somehow buff the 1st and 2nd auto attack’s damage or maybe make the second auto attack hit 2 times for smaller amount of damage to be able to proc fire/air sigils. at this time d/p thieves can hit 3 times with thier 1st and 2nd attack in their auto attack chain while sword can hit just once (if you test dps on golems sword deals more damage but in the reality dp deals a lot more damage because hitting often makes it harder to ddoge, more sigils procs, and the main damage is at the start of the auto attack chain instead of the end -which is really weird- on sword its really rare to land ur 3rd hit on autoattack thats why its crap)

Even if there is no solo que, the leaderboard should at least be separated for solo and team performance. Teams can just farm other people who lack effective communication and practice together, etc etc teaming up can have many benefits.
The main problem is that many people don’t like unranked(Why? : no default models, skyhammer, courtyard, people on experimental builds, bad PvPers), so these people go ranked insted, even though they are alone. This can mess up your position on leaderboards that u’ve earned with your team. OR You want to play with guildies who don’t have a clue about PvP and ruin your solo records.
These mixed up together just doesn’t work. I am NOT saying they should add a separate que, only a separate leaderboard. This would give people a chance to get a nice position on a solo leaderboard if they don’t play in a team(at the moment you can still get a good position because it is STILL about grinding but in case it gets fixed in the future)
ie I’m not feeling like getting a team – too much stress and responsibility. Even if u have one they aren’t often online at the same time, so they could use a solo leaderboard too)

also the turning bug, seems like their intention was to unable turning while immobilized but if u don’t move the moment u get the immob you can still turn around with skills. This is especially annoying against power rangers because they just stand in place to cast 1 and 2 (like they were a melee spec and the funny thing is that they out DPS any melee class with skill 2), this way u cant teleport behind them to break the skill nor immobilize them and go behind them to do the same… this fix would add at least some counterplay

Turret engis have been so broken for a long while that I thought why bother with forum posts if a ton of ppl cry there already and then… BOOM sentinel amulet. Wtf?! Instead of the expected nerf they got even more powerful. Noone else can utilize it well.
Agree with u guys about turret engis that:
-no risk, high reward
-boring gameplay
-can beat all other classes while afking and spamming 1(too much dmg, too passive)
-U cant outrange them coz they have the highest range ingame (1500)
-well placed turrets are too tanky to destroy(not like u need a brain to place them separately or midair)
-no counterplay in fight: u cant outplay 5turrets and an engi at the same time
-PvP should not be PvE
-leaderboard is full of turret engis – it should show player skill, not your build

In the mists and in matches, ppl who have it turned off, teammates and spectators still see your true form… I think PvP is more about showing off your skill than ur looks anyways. If u want to show off ur looks u can go anywhere else…

Anet makes money on skins. Mb this is a reason? Anet need money sources. But if it is not big deal (spvp skins money wise vs attractiveness of better pvp) I prefer standrt models
Good point but who told them to make all characters the same? Transforming just the asuras into humans would solve the problem. Types of armor, weapons and coloring could have stayed as it was. The only weapons that are op are some legendaries because for necro for example they make all the projectiles look the same

Honestly the default models in ranked has reduced the asura population in PvP so drastically that even in unranked pretty much everyone is human from my experience.

This default models idea was great but the thing i dont understand is why do you still force people not to use it in custom arenas and unranked? Fightning against asuras is just as annoying there as in ranked arenas.
I know it is possible to use it in custom arenas but only if the owner allows it. needless to say they play asuras if it isnt enabled
why asuras are annoying in pvp:
-their animations are tiny and different. their dodge roll looks like an eviscerate
-with all the clutter and other players it has happened to me that i couldnt even see an asura finishing me because he was standing inside a norn. #permastealth
-plague circle is bigger than as it looks, etc etc
Please let us play with default models (maybe even in wvw?)

IMO they shouldn’t nerf cele, but instead limit the amount of cele,soldier, settler’s and other tanky amulets in a team to 2. So each team could only have 2 tanky players, which would result in a more fast-paced, and skillful gameplay. This would apply only to tournaments. But I would be happy to see something like this in ranked que too.
That is so true that you can facetank damage with celes. When i play on my zerk thief and a power ranger hits me with maul i lose half my health, when I play on cele ele I facetank it, laugh at them and heal it back in a second. On cele you just randomly dodge in water attun to get the heal, not when an attack comes in.

And there seems to be see-sawing in philosophy of where to take the game. Back to merging queues? Do we remember why the didn’t work in the first place?
When we had them together everyone hated being stacked (which is understandable) and wanted a solo queue. When we had solo queue everyone hated how it was random and the ladder meant practically nothing.
Now we have them together and everyone hates being stacked against (again, understandable.)
The solution isn’t to try the same thing no one liked, the solution is take care of the actual problem: being stacked against. I’m working on that. Looking at the data, the current implementation seems to be helping, but still has a quite ways to go. I have a few ideas I’m going to run by some people on Monday, and I’ll run a lot more simulations before bringing them into the server.
Another part of the problem is the perception players have, which is being fueled by a selection and confirmation biases, and was not helped by unranked and profession ratings starting at the default.
There will always be people hating it, but you really should separate team and solo que.
Generally you can’t get to the top as a solo player anymore because you most of the time get premades or semi-premades against you(despite Anet promised to make a system that doesn’t do that). So if you go solo you get way worse ranking, than people u know are not as good at pvp but always play with a full premade team.

Plz Be sure to send notifications to players after a lose that they can still get better MMR even if they lose. If they dont know how it works they will still give up in the middle of the fight thinking its either win or lose when its not since the points u have at the end of the match matters even if u lose

In any case people should be notified about their punishment because lots of players dont read the forum posts and have no idea that they were punished for their behavior. I am telling you this because thats what happened when you removed the rank point gain for capping a point: in hotjoin people still wait on the capture points in groups of 5 because they think they get something out of it. But it only hinders their rank point acquistion

That’s an insane requirement given that some teams (teamq) run less than optimal comps for the sake of fun, but when they see a real team they swap classes. What you’re essentially putting is a barrier to always play serious which results in teams steamrolling other players and rather than building a stronger pvp community you get more people discouraged from playing.
I get you, the matchmaking system will do much more to prevent awkward compositions.
If you want full control over comp you must form a party. Evan’s post tomorrow (today for you, maybe?) will explain how we’ve simplified and improved the process. I hope it helps.
Solo que matchmaking should also ask your role: glasscannon/bruiser/bunker because having 5 hambows is way better than having 5 different professions all on glasscannon builds because noone is able to stand on point for more than a few seconds without dying. Players would be incentivized to set the correct role for their own good

Looking for a friendly player keen on high level tourney play, our aim is to even participate in ESL tournaments and such.

Our team name is Supernatural Crusaders at the moment. However, this is likely to change as soon as we think of something more creative. We also intend to buy an arena for practice.

Happened to me again, and it was about 30 minutes until the roster disbanded for me too

My whole team can’t join the team queue match because when we load into the pvp map everyone gets a DC. The match always resets and every 2 minutes we get thrown into the pvp map loading screen then dc. and this goes on in an infinite loop. This means we can’t particiapate in any other part of the game either.

There are more of these envious people – than you guys might think – who have more fun kicking people than actually playing the game. I’ve met people who don’t just kick you but they blackmail you first to kill the endboss (or else they kick you) so they get the rewards for free. Obviously, they kick the the others who don’t own the instance then they state that if u invite anyone they will kick you. I rather tried to invite somebody than to just do them a favor. Of course they were prepared and they kicked me first.
The worst thing is that block list and report doesn’t do a thing. Friends list is more useful against them which is absurd.
You can’t always just invite 2-3 friends to be placeholders until you invite the buyers then tell them to leave…(they have their own business in/outside gw2 + it’s awkward to always rely on them)

- Template switching can be abused in WvW, between dungeon bosses, etc.
I don’t think it would be abuse, it would just result in a more interesting and less faceroll gameplay. You can already switch all of these outside of combat, only with the templates it would be easier, there are people who go everywhere with the same build, if it would be less effort many people would change more often which is a good thing

We absolutely want to make build templates. They could work similar to GW1, but there are more components to a build now. Using the old string-code method may prove to be unwieldy.
Things that must be in a template:
- Weapons
- Sigils
- Rune
- Amulet
- Skills
- Traits
What could be in a template:
- Skins
- Dyes
- Outfit
- Finisher
Things to consider:
- Sharing (chat links? codes? urls?)
- Viewing (seeing some else’s vs. seeing your own)
- Saving (notepad vs. local vs. account vs. web)
- Building (one spot in UI vs. multiple spots)
- Websites (third-party sites should work with in-game)
- APIs (Could expose an API to third-parties)
- PvP vs PvE vs WvW (each mode requires different configuration options)
How would you like to see any/all of these work?
Skins, dyes, outfits, finishers I don’ think they are necessary because they don’t have anything to do with builds.
Although importing builds from websites, and easily sending templates ingame are a must have, these are really important.
Other than that, some options could be tied to the build like autotargeting and and fast-cast AoE targeting, or even some key binding changes. However, these options should be made character-bound first. These options could be decided whether you want to load it from the template or not. And these are not obligated to be in the template either.
Auto build-loading would be pretty cool, for example you could set a specific build for each dungeon/fractals/wvw/etc. and when you enter the map it asks you wheter you want to change to the build associated with that content. You would just have to click yes or no and you are done.

Facts:
-Recently a lot of people have been enjoying going into custom pvp rooms that are for 1v1, or 2v2.
-These require a lot of gold and regular maintenance, and the person who owns it can delete it any time.
Suggestion:
-Arenanet should add their own custom arenas – same as players can create – that noone has to maintain.(temporarily, until new game modes are added)
The current 1v1 room settings are fine as they are but for example the 2v2 room is gone now, because the owner doesn’t feel like playing 2v2 ATM. Noone wants to spend a lot of gold on a new one and then keep pumping tokens.
-In the EU 2 of 1v1 and 1 of 2v2 arenas are used most of the time, so adding 1-2 of each would be good enough, and this solution would be really simple for developers.
(It wouldn’t be a new thing in the game it would only be more consistent)
It’s a very fun game mode, and I think it should exist by default.
I’d recommend this for NA servers too, ofc.

I was alone in my guild ( Flameseekers Oo [FL] )when I transfered From Desolation to Seafarer’s Rest and since then the whole Guild Bank disappeared. Since the case I’ve heard from people that this could happen when transfering, but I find this very-very annoying, that nothing warned me about that. Now I have rebuilt the Guild Stash, but now it’s empty.
In fact about 650g worth of items – (that noone else could get to but me) – vanished.
It contained the following items: Dreamthistle Greatsword, Air Catcher Skin, Desert Rose Skin, Holographic Dragon Wing Cover, Abyssal Scepter, Vision of the Mists. I can’t recall anything else, possibly something else too.
A restore would be nice, because this really frustates me.

I’m posting about the gemstore armor that looked exactly like human cultural t3, except that fire effect were added to it.
The best thing they could do is to make it possible the switch the fiery effect on/off on the t3 human set(then nobody will complain). We cant delete that skin, it looks so awesome!

A nice polymock-style (GW1) 1v1 fight would be great: new minipets could be used in fights(each mini with unique skillset), so minipets would be a better reward for the Living Story achievements, because ATM current minipets don’t motivate me at all.
suggestion: Players could first learn their skills against NPCs then they could fight against each other, possibly with some bet to make it more exciting

Autoattack on one-handed sword for rangers has two leap skills in the chain, and these skills are really annoying.(The second and the third one in the chain)
Depending on situation:
-It makes you unable to dodge or use other skills for a short duration
-If trying to walk away from a target you will leap back
-You can’t position yourself around the enemy, because it locks you in place.
- You can’t interact: can’t finish off people in pvp or res someone. I often press F 1-2 times then I notice that surprisingly my character isnt doing anything, but by the time I press F again my character leaps again…
-If your foe jumps over a gap, you will try to jump after him/her and fall down, and possibly die from falling damage.
-If you hit a foe in stealth once(especially in Shadow Refuge) your ranger is probably going to leap over your target with the second leap chain skill, because of this it won’t reset for a few seconds and you keep jumping with the leap skill 2-3 times, which makes it impossible to hit the stealthed foe because the character is out of control.
Please change this skill, because honestly I don’t think that autoattack is the proper place for a leap skill. Maybe it could grant swiftness instead.

Ranger pets don’t attack for a few seconds after pet swap. However, the F2 skill can be used, but when you command the pet to leap at a foe or shoot projectiles at your target, they just jump/shoot into the air, often directly away from my target, regardless of pressing F1 before F2, because pets ignore that.
This is very annoying, I bet many players don’t even notice it during battles, and many pets just jump around randomly. This leads to wasting key skills, and wasting the duration of quickness from a certain trait.
Please make pets react faster to swapping and make pets use their skills on the targets.

It’s not 4v4, but 5v5 and it’s nothing to do with arenas. The nice thing about arena is that you can join with your partner(s), it’s more exciting because you have to stay alive, but it isn’t about camping at one spot, etc (mentioned lots of reasons before).

In sPvP it’s not 5v5 most of the time, but more like 2v2 and 3v3.
All they did in wow, was to forbid the usage of very long cooldowned skills(like 10 min), so I don’t think it would be a problem for GW2.

Dear ArenaNet,
I (and lots of other people) would be happy to see an arena-type pvp added to the game. (Quick death matches, maybe even some extra features)
I think many people would like to pvp with just 1 or 2 of his friends in a group, so 2v2 and 3v3 arenas would be a great way to encourage playing PvP. It’d be a lot less harder to organise a full team, and wouldn’t take much time to play a match.
Also, a rating system would help motivating people(faster to get better looking gear with higher rating), as well as letting you play with equally talented foes.
Moreover, I know many people who play WoW, just because they can play arena there, and there isn’t such in GW2.
I’m also curious about the players opinions.
