This is not a bug. Someone at Anet really hates thieves and ruined disabling shot last “bugfix” patch, now he continues his work. (now it always walks you towards your target at the end of the skill)
I don’t like placing stolen on F2 either. First I thought it was better this way but, I have to give up an important keybind for it. bye look behind key

I wasn’t even aware of the tactical strike split, a tiny buff that definitely needs to be made.

The devs forgot too. otherwise they would have merged them like they did with the other skills :/

With daredevil traits s/d is awesome ( the real problem are the other classes, but better asking for a nerf than returnto the old unbalanced style ).

Actually, no. S/D is still worse than D/P or Staff and even those are rarely used because the other classes are so out of line. They won’t ever nerf the other classes so much and hard that thief will be viable from that because the elite specs are meant to be op in their philosophy.
p/p and d/d need some kind of utility buff instead of just numbers because they are spam weapon sets sadly and lack utility.
Thief needs some buffs overall and extra buffs for s/d, s/p, p/p and d/d.

Undo fs/ls nerf (2boons stolen, fs and ls unblockable)
Reduce aftercast on almost all sword skills
More dmg or control from tactical strike

Yeah agree! infil return doesn’t need to have a cast time in order to prevent it from being cast from stuns(see mesmer torch 4).

dunno if flanking strike was ever unblockable but it should at least change to larcenous even if it misses or is blocked as long as it the target was within melee range.

reduce aftercast! very important, weapon evades suck because of aftercasts(and flanking strike has to cancel skillcast instead of queing it up)

Tactical strike is still split between pve and pvp. Apply the longer daze duration form wvw to pvp.

This is a good point BUT alacrity should have a slightly lower effect on initiative as their utilites already get the alacrity bonus. If thieves get about 40% initiative bonus instead of 66% or 0% would be a nice middle ground.

Thief is already the worst for raids they deserve this,

One would think they would leave a few vanilla builds meta so free players dont feel like its pay to win. Seems thats not the case. Every elite spec is better in all aspects. Right balancing would make you sometimes not to pick the elite traitline.

Free players are playing an extended trial… Who cares what they think? HoT is the game now – if you don’t own it, tough nuts! Expansions are not Pay-2-Win.

2 of my friends and other acquaintances bought gw2 before the free trial and then they quit.(thats why they bought it in the first place they thought they can just jump in and out of the game because it is a 1-time purchase). I don’t think its fair to them that it’s this PTW.(they are interested about the game but they wouldn’t buy the expac straight away, my 2 friends at least)

I agree with a part of it(sword range increase) but not with many other things like stability on p-whip and unload buff.(e.g. pwhip needs to be split into 2 skills and unload must become more flavourful)

1. about the A) He means Flanking strike doesn’t flip if you use it out of range example or without a target while not hitting anyone else.
I like this option the most.

2. agree

+Flanking Strike should have a stronger effect ( maybe leave larcenous as it is in this case). This skill has the best tell while being ridiculously low dmg/ effect. Even if you can then use larcenous strike you have to land that too, which can be negated by simply running around the thief coz the skill has about a 90 degree hit cone or worse.

1957 vault base damage
622 flanking strike+1245 larcenous strike=1867 dmg
or 3 flanking strikes deal 1866dmg which is also still lower then vault dmg.
Flanking S should hit a lot harder to be viable

HS spam is worse.. and Vault deals so much dmg, but AA aswell and vulnability. Cannot decide between sword or staff though.. on paper sword AA deals more dmg, but on golems staff is better (vul stack).

It is not cuz of vulnstacks but mainly aftercast time. Sword/x just doesnt do enough dmg in this meta

If you counter slow with quickness from Impossible Odds it works just fine using s3. This skill has almost no counterplay so they could add somehing instead of slow bug. Yes u can dodge 3times to avoid most of the dmg(still can get hit between dodges)but thats not rly a counterplay. Stealth is ok if u have a quick acces to it and dont die trying to combo but then they can just prevent it with reveal. What i think is unfair is that this skill has 450 range at start but then infinite range once its goin and even portalling or shadowstepping doesnt save u. This skill should stop when ppl go out of range. Slow bug should be fixed tho

Removing people from queue on map travel is a decent middle ground and should be easier than temporarily removing them from the queue. However, even teleporting within a map can have decent load times and hooking up warnings to every way you can leave a map, like Elwinson listed, is still a moderate feat.

It isn’t that important to create warnings everywhere. Nothing bad happens if they zone away.The notification will notify u about leaving the que if someone would forget then they rejoin and most likely won’t get thrown behind in the queue in that short time.

(Lots of people already know this from changing HotM megaservers in queue.)

We can make a better user experience (match accept and map voting) without having to worry about interrupting whatever a player might be doing elsewhere.

Yes the windows blocking mouse movement and that they can’t be moved to the side once popped are very irritating even in HotM. So would be great if it didn’t behave like this.

The 15 minute timeout is for the first offense. The dishonor lingers on your account for much much longer, resulting in a longer timeout if you abandon another match.

This doesn’t change anything. People should be considered ready as soon as they load in.
Or remove like half the reward from pvp and add it as a ready bonus if you don’t want to add more than 10 rank points as a bonus… Everyone can ready up at the last sec if they want the time for strats. If you can’t load before the timer is over you shouldn’t really go pvp anyway.

This skill has no problem with its damage. The problem is it can hit you twice immediately when you stand at the treshold of 2 AoE portions it creates. They should put a half sec internal cooldown per target hit.

Guys, anyone who think they left thief unchanged last patch is wrong! They received 2 nerfs: Disabling Shot and the Impaling lotus nerf. (the latter is a quality of life change for PvE players so it’s understandable). But disabling shot is unarguably worse. These were also the only changes to thief so… no comment. (Yeah they gonna make a balance change after they are done with the tournaments but they should have already balanced everything beforehand.)

yeah either add something to do in HoTM or allow going outside of it at least to a set of places. (HoTM could also take a redesign. all the NPCs have alpha versions of current skills/evades etc, the lord layout is unseen in any map. add more space, then they could allow dueling there and other activities)

This patch they made an already bugged skill even worse:

  • Disabling Shot: This skill will now always move you directly away from your target.

It did move you directly away from your target before the change already.
All it changed is when you don’t face your target and you press this skill, it now turns your character back around before the animation when the skill was designed to be used when facing away from the target.

Let me explain: before patch when you used this skill facing away from your target, the character kept running on away from the target seamlessly(leap+walk phases). However, when you casted this skill facing your target, you leapt away and then walked back towards your target(hence why you get hit by melee hits when using this supposed gap-opener).
Now they implemented the bugged behavior to even the functioning aspect of this skill.

Solution: remove the walking part from the skill(but then dont make the character stuck either) or make it at least walk away from your target rather than towards it. Even a revert would be better than nothing tough.

Same applies to ranger sb3 apparently

Abjured running necro when no one thought they were viable, running thief when no one thinks they’re viable. Wakkey will totally be playing a berserker in pro league at some point just to give the middle finger to the community.

At least noone knows how to fight a berserker. Haven’t seen a decent one yet.
But Abjured is Abjured, they can play whatever.

Some ideas that would have no downsides:

Make thief pistols pierce
They lack aoe dmg since no ricochet. In teamfights: Players/NPCs randomly bodyblock all your burst from range. (baseline would be the best but can be a trait)

lower dagger storm duration and CD
~3s duration with ~40s CD instead of current 8s duration 90s CD would be great.
(good combo with smoke fields / could reflect key skills if used well)

make impaling lotus trait not hit ppl while in stealth
People want to use their stealth attacks and use dodge defensively in stealth.
