just rip 5vs5 pvp leaderboard and make dueling arena and give previous mmr based leaderboard of it to estimate real skilled players
it is just now total grind. look at top 1 guy and his previous leaderboard’s rank and number of matchs done

Lol jejus have you dueled Lexi at least once? I wouldn’t say she is not best player in the world, she is just one of the most-playing player along with Ghaleon, Danny. I have met her in soloq a lot lot of times before new pvp update, i can definitely say this. BTW, do you even know her class and pvp leaderboard rank before patch and how much she have played there? if you knew you wouldnt say current new leaderboard is good system but just grinding.

Current leaderboard is just about grinding, more you play more rank you get, you cant determine how good you are here. Now, I really want anet would implement 1vs1 dueling arena that actually rewards Gold or something. And It will be only way to estimate player’s actual skills. And this will greatly increase game balance system becuz many people will blame anet for op build things.

It’s not really a pure grinding.
How many points you get, it depends on odds and end score, so skill it’s always important.
But i’m not really sure at the end of the season we’ll have in the top20 , always the same best 4 teams, it really depends on how much they’ll play.
Really curious about it.
eh according to data by comparing previous leaderboard’s top people and current top people, i would say 50% grinding, 25% personal skill, 25% luck.
The new leaderboards is based on how much you play. Even worse than before. Look up the leaderboard now, some1 with 40% win rate is in the top 5 ( rank 2)

Yeah, I just looked up the new leaderboard, i think the new system is giving ranks like, more you play higher rank you get, but need to be somehow skilled though. I mean, if 2 people are samely skilled but one of those two plays more, that one person who plays lot get higher rank. Reversely, the another skilled person, who plays less, has similar rank as some1 who isnt skilled but plays lot. I mean, now leaderboard become grinding system, which is simple that you don’t need to care about leaderboard rank that much since it is just about farming. That is why you see bunch of winrate 50% and also not well-known as really skilled player in the top# 1~25 rank of the new leaderboard. It is just grinding now.

you are lack of understanding broken game balances. This game is hugely broken becuz of those 3 jobs and you see only those classes in world tournament as a result. BTW, I can PWN you if you run anything except above jobs.

You now really dont care your leaderboard rank if you are solo quque person. In the previous SoloQ leaderboard, the person who has more than 1~200 matchs but has highest winrate was around 70%. This is probably highest winrate you could obtain ,if you are very skilled, even though pvp is updated, so rank is calculated based on high hardest enemy is. The winrate fact does not change.
Highest Winrate of TeamQ is like 85%, which means they monopolizes by only teamming up with skilled people around him.
Since Soloq and TeamQ leaderboard is merged, people who has skilled people around him will always take higher position than you who only play soloQ even though you are extraordinary skilled soloq pvper. And I even saw that new system even matchs soloQ people to premade team of 2 or 3 or more.
Just don’t care leaderboard rank if you are soloq person. Anet started not caring solo users I guess.

hello. i won 4~5 games continuously becuz ironically i get more engis and eles, which are op class currently, than enemy team. thx anet. hope you always gives me more engi and ele teammate whenever i play soloq.
i did it like, lb’s immobalize + 100b + fear me combo at 3000 power and 65% crit chance but only 75% of it correctly left dmg becuz he break stunned it. After this i saw his hp was around 60~70% of total hp, and he healed all them up shorty after this.
So you expect your one click of 100b should kill the ele? Didn’t 1 execution of 100b taking out 40% of the HP of a character already OP? Look at what the Ele had to do to react to yours. He/she had to waste a 75 seconds cooldown stun break on that, then use 2-3 healing skills to get to full HP again. You still have most of your skill and the 100b cooldown after a few seconds, while the Ele lost his only stun break—assuming they are using the meta Ele. Next time you combo again, just one 100b can give the ele big trouble.
i am not saying that only 1time 100b should kill ele. most people in dueling arena will break stun it. But i still would mostly win except ele or pu mes class becuz, The most problem for ele is that they heal much more than shout war or medi guardian, and they got too much protection buff skill, which shout war or medi guard do not have that much, as well as having good dmg. also they hace mobility skiills. if it isnt op why every1 claim ele?

Ele is completely broken as long as i have felt so far 8n dueling arena. Ele and PU mesmer needs nerf, and buffing warrior and ranger is necessary. Others are fine. About engi, well, they are mostly OP in only small capping area, but in wide area like dueling arena provides, its fine. The problem is that turret remains eternally until some1 detroy them. turret need to have some duration that can only remain within its time, which means, a nerf a bit.

well, its simple. if you look at win % of people, who plays more than 100 matchs, in both soloq and teamq. teamq there even is over 80% guys. But soloq is like 70%. When soloq and teamq merged with this fact, premade people definitely be higher than solo guys in merged leaderboard. you just need to better stop care of leaderboard anymore since merged. even though you were NA best soloqer who has over 70% winrate, but it isnt over 80%. so you will anyway be placed lower leaderboard rank than best teamq pvper.

Glorious Hero’s armor was intended to be something special. Only really good players should be able to obtain it.

This thread is to create awareness of the problem, and to QQ a bit about it. I hoped if more players participated in the SoloQ, this problem will not exist anymore the close we get to the patch, but unfortunately it still does.
On the following examples I’m going to show you some examples of people, who would get an armor piece if the cut was now (13:00 CET).

We have no clue how many players are waiting out there, to play just their one game before the patch goes lives.How is this problem generated?
To get placed into the leaderboard, you only have to play a total of 10 games, but only 1 game after the last leaderboard reset. During the first few games your glicko2-rating fluctuated so high, that after a small win streak, you get placed at the top of the ladder. You are not forced to continue to play, because the decay only effects your ladder position and not your rating.
If you continue to play, your glicko2-rating will decrease. Even after maintaining a high win rate and a high ladder position, you can not reach the same rating a player who has just stopped playing after his first win streak. This is due to the mechanic of the glicko2-rating system. Because if you are at the top of the leaderboard, your average team rating in a match will be beneath your own rating, and therefore your own rating will tend to decrease.How to fix this problem?
Easiest solution: Don’t hand out any rewards for SoloQ.
Better Solution: Change the formular you are handing out rewards. Something like minimum games played this week; or spent more then 100 games in the top 100. Problem: If people would have known, they would have played for that goal, so not a perfect idea, to change the rules so close to the end.Any better suggestion are welcome.

Personally, I would put Vassangel from dueling arena into Top #1 in my list of 1vs1 duel ranking. if you have had any chance of watching his play, some of you would agree with me. His play is just martial arts and his reaction and extraordinarily fast ever. Well, I saw and dueled many people in this list that OP posted, but I felt Vassangel is a bit better than most (cuz some Idk) of them in OP’s list. (if you don’t care class and build unbalances becuz it is anet’s fault but look at just personal skill & reaction, I would say he was best in those factors) idk. time has gone a lot since this guy don’t play. probly now people in OP would play better. Sad he doesn’t play in these days.

Go back and reread the full thing. It says if you que alone you will be matched with others who are solo, unless its slow and no one is queing, then you might be matched against a premade but it will not affect your rank.

In NA, 70% is highest win percentage of people who have more than 200 soloq match.
but in teamq, there are tone of people having more than 80% win %. so i think it is kinda dead to people soloing since merged leaderboard there will be.
becuz even soloing and having 70% win percentage, it cannot be more than 80%, as they are displayed in one leaderboard.

In soloQ, there is no one whose average win% is higher than 70% and also played more than 200matchs in soloq. but in teamq there are tone of 80% win% players simply becuz they are kinda teamming up with good people only so making a monopoly wins. if leaderboard is merged into one, yeah, player who team up with people will always be higher than people who really doing well as solo. so teaming up becomes necessary…
I think its the end of solo Q. forced to play in team or get destroyed by 5 man premade group.

you know anet, people’s rank in soloq fluctuate a lot, becuz it is yoloq has too much luck factor (i would say 50% luck 50% skill)
For me, yeah, i hit the rank inside of top5 more than 3 times during past 5 months, but usually rotate rank within top100. because sometimes i play carelessly Becuz i love to drink and play and do chatting rather than playing. There is no point you reward only current top20 people. Personally, I was even be able to keep myself always within rank 20 by playing just one round per 2~3 days for more than a month before. i just found no point of doing it, so just stopped doing it, and played just alot as much as I wanted to play rather than one per 2~3 days. I think many top-tier soloq PvPer would do it (playing just lot as much as they wanted since realizing keeping soloq rank is meaningless) unless he is just very crazy at keeping high rank only. And that’s why people rotate certain range bracket a lot.
For soloq you have to reward all top100 people a piece of glorious armor, and reward all top200 people mini-malla. or just reward any1 who hit top20 once, you can get data from following website: gw2score.com/PvP
You will see a bunch of people, who haven’t played for a while since hitting high rank just once, playing only one match to get back to top position at the date you reward those things, which is definitely terrible.

Comparing anything to Kill Shot makes a very invalid comparison.
Pin Down was given a longer, flashier animation because it was too strong for how easy it was to land. If you want to land it, bait them dodges out of your enemies like a decent player.
i am not really comparing. i am jusy saying this pin-down become almost as easy as killshot to dodge. honestly, killshot is extremely easier though. but for decent dueler pindown is also extremely easy as killshot. both are not even problem for decent player to dodge them out.
if they decrease pin down cast time but animation and sound still exist, I am surely saying that it will be only a little bit harder to dodge, but is still dodgeable completely. it just need more fast reaction.
I tested it a lot with axe/sword-lb warrior by gamble dueling, he is pretty good dueler I guess. but he dodge pindown at around 80% of success rate. only 1 out of 5 did work.

Currently, Pin down cast time is too long, and its animation that emits white light when casting makes even easier to be dodged. Now, everybody can just simply dodge it, at lease people in dueling arena, yes, they can easily. I wouldn’t say to remove that emitting light animation, but with both 2 conditions, emitting light when casting and too slow cast time, makes it too easy to be dodged just like Rifle’s Killshot. One of them, emitting light or cast time, should be either decreased or removed.

hand-throwing grenade range is 1500 while warrior’s longbow or rifle range is only 1000~1200 and you say it is not op? they made your hand godly powerful than gun though? its op with turret in close fight, it is op in range fight with grenade. both are op, so op. If you deny it isnt op then what is op? gg

If they were to implement those titles again it would have to be through some sort of League Division system, and different Titles that aren’t so easily acquired with these leader boards.Your suggestion is similar saying to give GW2 Players a way to get GW1 Titles through hitting a certain Achievement Point range which isn’t fair to those veterans who played GW1. I’m not against bringing these titles back, but the way they are achieved shouldn’t be so dependent on rank of the leaderboard.
I think most of players in these have almost same skill as them in these days. the only difference is just they started this game, or pvp content faster.
I understand what you’re saying, but giving those titles through these leaderboards isn’t the best way to go. They need some league division system, and leaderboards do not show skill at all. It’s kind of a kick to those old players face if you make these titles easy to obtain with no effort. Like I said i’m not against bringing these titles back. Most of the people who bear these titles barely play anymore, and if anything they should implement new titles. Like what they do with WvW Seasons, they have different titles each season for the achievements.

League of Legends Moba style game mode with in-game instant shop like LoL with its leaderboard
eh i have more than 2000+ ranked arena rounds. in these days, warrior and mesmer are least played as long as i see in these days. there were lot of warriors before healing sig and adrenaline nerf patch.but now, no. mesmer were originally not that much populated from old days upto now. if i list by order list of class population in soloq,
Ele, necro, engi > thief, ranger > guardian >= warrior, mesmer

the best way to fix it is decreasing 4 times mmr point lose of the guy who left, as well as decreasing his gold by 4 times 25 silver, which is 1gold. Other who did participated lose nothing : both mmr and gold. why 4 times? he damaged other 4 people right?

it seems that currently most of LB Top100 dps guardian people run gs/sword-focus build with 2/1/6/1/4 trait. But it has no scepter or staff that is problem for me. (i want to use it in wvw)

i dont think cond war can win turret engi or 00266 trait dd ele, it was already hard before torment nerf patch. it become almost impossible since torment nerf patch.
I really feel like the Rifle is actually inferior to what it was before the change to Bleeding Shot, but I haven’t experimented extensively with it since yet.
Agree. even though current fierece shot has its dmg increased by 25%, but it has no bleeding dmg instead and the most problem of double adrenaline is that, it requires vulnerability, while brutal shot takes too long time and dmgs too small. most of warrior avoid using it since most of them have 5sec swap time decrease trait, usually rifle skill combos are done by (sometimes)killshot -> volley ->(if got closer)5th skill -> 2nd cripple shot. then swap is ready, dont even need to use 4th skill. or even though used it, there is no benefit from double adrenaline cuz swap is already ready right after using above combo and 4th skill, which i think bleeding was a lot better at least it remains on enemy long time and requires none. and current all adrenaline lose upon miss of elite skill made rifle completely kitten. did you test how hard it is to make killshot successfully hit anet… some people even reflects it not just block or dodge it.

isnt it already viable? i have seen few wars using this in soloq though. Personally never seen war using rifle or mace as secondary hand. i think some war focusing on small capping area uses mace though cuz it is strong weapon in close fight.

i think 2vs2 or 3vs3 with current map size and 3 capture points will only benefit people who only focus on dueling build rather than mobillity for rotation or support for bunker/healer.
while you casting volley, you stop shooting if enemy goes backside of your camera. I am not sure it ia bug or not but plz fix it cuz volley is only rifle skill that can safely leave dmg on enemy: killshot is too hard to make it hit, and 2nd and 4th skill has no dmg. It shouldnt be stopped that easily. thx
