Merching is the best way and the way I’ve made a lot of my gold once I got started with precursor drops. Made about 85k in about 2-3 months off of ghastly shields/wind and sun catchers and other various items. That was most I have really made in a couple merches. I’ve made about 15-20k other than off those items, just other rare skins

Yeah I’ve heard many ranges of luck coming with precursors. On one hand I know someone who has had about 20 drop in wvw for them while zerging, cousin of mine has crafted 25ish in the forge. While yet another friend has looted about 10ish from strictly pve and crafted another 5. While I have crafted most of mine and looted just 2. I then have bought 7 specific ones for certain legendary with gold from flipping things or from selling other precursor drops.

@zeivu why not? I’m not ashamed by it. Some may say pve lord and what not. But truth be told I’ve probably on spent about 200 hours in pve content. My highest story mode is only about 55. And my time spent playing the TP only adds up to a couple hours probably, guessing about 15-20.

Gratz on your achievement, really!
But this statement also shows what’s wrong with the game… you were playing hoping for the “next pre to drop” and I assume you’ve probably had 5-10 drop for you.
Others have had none or at most 1 pre drop and are basically still trying to craft their first legendary.

Have had 15 drop from the forge, 2 from world bosses (Grenth)

Don’t stroke your ego thinking that the people calling you a loser are legitimately jealous of what you’ve done here. The game is still plenty fun without sinking thousands of hours into getting marginally better equipment than what you can easily buy for a couple gold pieces.

I just wonder what you’re going to do now that you’ve done this. If I had that much stuff, I don’t think I could even bring myself to keep playing. You’ve pretty much won the game.

I play the game for WvW, legendaries were a side factor.

And I don’t care if they are jealous or not….

I’d say I hope so.

Although I think I’d rather prefer legendary trinkets (visable someway) or backpeices something that would be easier to make look cool across the races and genders.

My guild was talking about this last night. I do wonder who in fact has the first collection, whether I do or not I do not know. I now know of 2 others who are 1 away and one more 2 away. No matter what it takes a great deal of time and a great amount of luck involved in to all of it.

I know that I have played this game quite a lot, possibly even too much, but what else are you supposed to do when you are a college kid stuck in the dorm during the week with 22 free hours a day. I don’t sleep much as it is, I only workout for about an hour a day, lay around or watch tv for another hour or so, which still leaves a ton of free time left in the day. Even after factoring in hanging out with friends or going to parties and other things associated with school there is still a TON of free time.

This is mostly at school though, when I am at home, or on the weekends most of my days are spent out on a lake somewhere fishing competitively to make money. I don’t know if anyone here knows about tournament fishing or bass fishing in general, but it is a huge time consumer during the summer and when season is actually in. So basically, I don’t just live inside on the computer, I know as well as many of my friends who play, know that I do not just play this game religiously as many of you would probably believe.

So continue the hate and the criticism of my personal life, it is really kind of amusing.
And if you are going to talk about how much of a loser and such I am in a PM, why not just post in on the forum cause I’m obviously not going to respond to each message individually.

And I thank everyone who is not being down on the topic and trying to put me down for dumb and irrelevant reasons. I posted this because of how excited I was to finish my goal and to share my excitement with others whom may not have the time nor the will to collect them all. And I appreciate the good words amongst the sea of “hate”

No hate coming from me. Just stating that that sort of time commitment to a video game is kind of scary, imo.

And just asking, but what sort of class schedule do you have when you have 22 hours of free time a day being a college student? (and I thought I did light class schedules at college….lol)

I had 15 hours of class, I had 2 40 minute lectures monday and wednesday, with 2 50 minute discussions on friday and 2 online classes.

I’m already “grinded” out on my 3 legendaries. (Sunrise and Bifrost I made through luck on the TP too. But only helped for the t6 and the precursor) I can’t imagine doing map completion and having so to get so much karma.

4k hours played is a lot, but certainly not unique among people who have played since launch. How many of them have all 9000 legendaries? This is only wasted time if the OP regrets having done it. Congrats Kor!

I do agree with Paul though, you should go camping or something to celebrate.

Camping is boring. I stay in my car pretty pretty much at least a few nights a week for my fishing tournaments. I’d say that well more than half of my hours have been played during the winter. During the spring and summer I don’t play much at all due to my fishing career.

Somewhere close to around 500$, most of them were gifts though from family.

@Vael – 3 accounts also help out a bit, and the fact I made a bunch of gold on the TP. Other than mapping I’ve only done WvW since day one, currently have about 4,500 hours total across my accounts.

I’ve had 15 drop from forge, 2 from loots. Started out playing the TP early. Made a ton of gold off of ghastly shields and wind/lightning catchers, close to 60k made off of just those 3 items, then there was a lot of money made on other various skins that I thought would go well but no where close to what I reaped from the shields.

Nice video. Your unicorn bow is awesome, haha. What set up do you do to ensure a pistol whip lands? Can this sort of build work in SPvP? If not, what build would you recommend? Been having a hard time in SPvP lately with either being too glassy that I die too fast to be effective, or too tanky and not doing enough damage.

I don’t really focus much on pistol whip. I try to focus on my poison fields and caltrop for most of my damage and pistol whip is a bonus. I just try to time it right. In spvp I use dagger dagger instead of sword pistol and rune of pack

Grats! I have almost all of them and Kamo is definitely one of my favorites.

Or if you have a keyboard that can be macroed or edited you could just assign the shift key to another input so that way it wouldn’t act as a real shift key but just as your dodge key. Then you could rebind another key you don’t use as left shift if you really wish to have it as shift.

Or use a keyboard like Razer and have player profiles that you can swap easily to make shift actually be shift and with a click of a button make it just be another key for dodge.

It’s best to leave dodge at V or double click movement anyways. You can SPACE+V pretty easily to jump roll for extra distance too while dodging more easier than space+shift in the right time window

Just ignore them. Or block them. Don’t see how a PM can affect your gameplay

Just a quick video I made of about an hour of playing, only a few fights due to the large amount of zergs. Not very impressive at all. Ran with Jesii a little bit too. Decided to post it cause I haven’t been able to play and won’t be able to play for the rest of the week.

Well the main reason why the stun doesn’t last that long is to give the person a chance at getting out of the way of it. Otherwise that would be op to just spam and make them waste all of their stun breaks…

So just a quick question about it. Even in their new nerfed state, perplexity runes give you 8 stacks for the same amount of time. If you took sleight of hand and interrupted them, you’d get more confusion damage in addition to the reduced steal CD. Not to knock testing of the new stuff, I was just wondering if a more well rounded build could be created by that combination of runes/traits, especially with S/D since you could get TS in there if you happen to miss the steal interrupt.

This is true, I just prefer to have a different rune set, and the confusion stacks just help the spike.

I bet none of these special snowflakes has ever played, pretty much any other triple A mmo, where all your months/years of “hard work” playing the game is swept under the rug because a new gear level is added. If you used real money to buy virtual items, lesson learn buddy. Like many others have said, it could be worse. You get to keep a dagger that will still be top tier over the years to come.

Let me start off with this.
I have 3 incinerators. (With 15 other legendaries)
I have 5 female human characters all with t3, and multiple others with cultural armor as I have the Emperor title.
I have purchased multiple of every kind of dye, including abyss, celestial, pyre, regal, etc.
I have 2 mjolnirs.
I have a lot of duplicate gem skins, fractal skins, and black lion skins.

Thanks for supporting the game, so others can play it for free I guess?

I gained almost all of my money via the TP. I did buy a few gems for the gem skins but that’s it.
I have played almost every MMO since UO at least for a little while and taken a few very serious. Nothing in any game so far has been quite a time and gold (or money for some) as a legendary… (Except ONE rare occasion …. SOE and the jedi in precu when they nerfed the crap out of that with NGE, which is in itself, d-day mmo style as it KILLED their player base)
Adding higher level cap and new stuff in most mmos has came nowhere as close to making something of so much value and time almost completely useless.. almost just because the fact you can still change it and what not, which makes it about 1/10th-15th useless compared to the time and cost it took to make it for what it is.

Vapor blade- it’s how any “ranged” attack works in the game. If your running forwards you are obviously going to have less of a reach as it will go as far as you were when it casted.

Shocking Aura- I think it is just fine, it makes sense the way it is as its an “aura”…. so they have to touch the aura to get shocked.

Magnetic grasp: I think it is pretty good the way it is, instant cast would make it too good. It is a very good skill for combos and leaping, it deserves a cast time imo.

I know that D/D is very good for solo and group, it’s just that it (and most of ele) is harder for most people and new players to grasp and become as good with as it is for a warrior or something else much easier as ele is one of the hardest to play, but if you master it, you can be one of the best for dueling and 1v1s and such (at least in terms of WvW)

After watching your vids Korimor I just can’t take your word for it, I see way too many mistakes which leads me to believe you don’t have enough experience fighting elite players on the battlefield. I don’t think d/d is underpowered, but I do believe the churning earth skill deserves a shot at landing on a single target if they don’t counter the immobilize.

I have close to 4.5k hours on this game, I have fought very many “good players, and efamous players” I know what I am doing. I may make some mistakes yes, but so does everyone. Definitely when most the time I record is when I am out of it (under the influence) or just not really caring too much, doesn’t help I play on a laptop and recording kills it . I don’t really care too much though about how good you think I am or how much experience I have. One of your questions are just really about physics though… or game mechanics, with vapor blade…. That is kind of common sense that the reach will be much less when running forward.

I kind of agree kind of don’t on the churning earth though….. If it does land, it is very very strong, which is the reason why it is hard to land in the first place. Just like most very good abilities which are normally pretty easy to dodge or avoid due to their telegraphing.

(don’t worry I don’t get offended really, I just may sound like it when I am posting at this time of night… for obvious reasons :P)

So for pretty much 2 hours of roaming, this was the only few fights I got that were not ganks at one point or another. I am hoping to get much better videos up next week or whenever we are not matched up with HoD.

Just a few small fights, nothing major at all. Not able to get in very many fights other than 1v5+’s in this weeks matchup so I didn’t have an opportunity to record much.
