Ok… so i have the trinket with queen bee that turned into winters presence….. long story short my character now has a permanent cloud above her head even with everything unequipped… and after relogging… im very confused

Okay. so after Wintersday update I noticed some things..

I log into my character named Jedi. Notice that I no longer have bees flying around me. instead I have this cloud above my head. when I unsheathe weapons I get the winter’s presence aura now on top of nightfury and whatever else I have. SO then I take off the trinket with winters presence, notice I still have a cloud above my head. WHY?!

Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining I wouldn’t mind if it stayed that way all the time!

SO Theory testing here is what I have done.
1. unequip EVERYTHING (armor trinkets etc)…. Cloud appears above head but no snowflakes when “unsheathed”
2. put the trinket with wintersday presence into the bank. (cloud still appears in pve/pvp)
3. put items into bank, log off log in, dye, etc

The winters presence trinket item works just like the others that it only works in pve …. but this cloud which looks similar to the one on the people with the actual shoulders is always hovering above my head unlike anyone else ive seen in game…

Someone gave the idea on Reddit of using 6 like extra aura/effect slots… Well if your wanting that then it’d be possible to get this combo..
1. Frostfang Aura (smokey cloud)
2. Howler Aura (smokey cloud aura that stacks on frostfangs, I can prove it)
3. Nightfury (bat aura, also stacks on above 3)
4. Kamohoali Aura (underwater bubble aura, Does stack currently now, I can prove it)
5. Black Refractor (just to turn everything pitch black and more annoying)
6. Queen Bee (to add a bit more non sense and sounds)

Yes these actually do all currently stack but just for an example of how annoying it can get…

Any ideas of combos let me know I can test everything, I have each refractor, Nightfury, Queen Bee, and all the legendaries.

Seriously some of these arguments on here and reddit are getting ridiculous. If you want a certain aesthetic or effect, then use that certain item for the effect. Cause and effect people. Have to have the cause to get the desired effect.

I’m not saying 6 slots or a slot for every effect, I think at the very least they could give us an “Armor Effect” slot and a “Trinket Effect” slot. You should be able to use these effects with endgame ascended trinkets and not just exotic and you should be able to keep your shoulders and not have to get rid of equipment just to have this. I love my Arah light armor set and I will do without nightfury (the effect I fell in love with) if it means losing my gear.

But the bats swarming around you is the effect you get from wearing those shoulder guards… They are essentially the “shoulders”… just like how the scarf isn’t quite on your shoulders anymore…. I’m sick of people complaining about these things when their argument makes 0 sense…

Want bats flying around, wear the bat shoulders. Want CoF shoulders? Wear CoF shoulders…

Want the black coloring effect? Wear an exotic trinket with that effect on it, it’s that simple.

No need to start adding a bunch of aura slots and what not, it’s simple as is and works as is no need to go screwing with it.

If you want the best end game gear/stats on, then wear it, don’t wear the bee or refractors. They are aesthetic gear, want aesthetics wear aesthetics, want top stats, wear top stat gear then.

If you don’t want that then don’t use them…..

Anything with good sustain/damage at the same time works here. You can pretty much get any class to do this through different builds.
But yes from what I have experienced d/d ele, medi guard, blood necro, basically any warrior, and even now Revenant herald can be great.

It’s a very up in the air answer here…

It all comes down to your playstyle and how you like to play the game..

Do you like competitive play? Theres ways of being competitive in several game modes.
For example,
You could SPvP, or Duel/Roam in WvW, or even try for fastest times in dungeons and fractals like some do..

Do you like to just explore and to fight creatures and epic quests? PvE is your choice here.

Do you like to be the best of the best? Then dueling in SPvP and WvW may be for you.

Then it comes down to how you play, do you like to play alone? With a group? with a large group?
Do you like to be a group supporter? Or do you like to focus on being able to be independent to achieve your goals?

Do you like to fly around battles wiping out the easiest targets first or do you like to manage your fights a bit more while supporting others and dealing damage to more than one enemy at once?

This game is one where you have tons of options of how to play and what to play. Game mode wise my favorite by far is SPvP and WvW, WvW is more dead to me since there is no longer such a great dueling/roaming community anymore and it’s more about roaming in a big zerg achieving server goals but that’s just me.

I know people who are dedicated SPvPers, WvWers, Fractal-ers, Dungeoneers, PvEers, Achievement Point Hunters, and more.

In terms of class you play, that is really more focused on how you like to play your character, certain classes do some things better than others, and play much differently than others, but it has came to where you can normally do most of the roles needed with essentially any of the classes, but some are better than others. Have you played other mmos? and what did you like? Do you like stealthing and running around causing havoc on individual targets? Then you could for example play thief, or you could even play a thief that has group support and deals conditions… Or do you like being more of a tank with group support and good soloability, then you could roll guard, warrior, or even necro….

I’ve always played more of the “rogue” style characters which fit more into the thief class, until SWTOR where I played Juggernaut a lot which is very similar to how Revenant can be played.

Basically, do what you want to do, read up a little bit on the classes and their playstyles, find the one you like and how you like to play it then it may be easier for you to determine which game modes are more for you.

Why don’t we have something like this already? Possibly a collection for the first generation of legendaries?

Right now the only things we really have going for collecting legendaries is twice-told legend, and legendary collector. Both are 25AP, and title is awarded with twice-told legend.

That’s 50AP for collecting 5/6 legendaries (not sure if 4 and 1 duplicate will get the 5 achievement)

My questions is why don’t we have some sort of bigger collection goals?!
I personally would love to see a rare collection for each generation of legendaries with possible awards for each step or for the entire collection..

Some similar collections I think we could base the legendary collection off of:
Ambrite Weapon COllection, need all 16 ambrite weapons..
Bioluminescence, all 18 luminescent armors…
Asccended Accoutrement, all 18 crafted ascended armor skins.

I would be tickled to death if they are already planning something of this nature and would love any kind of extra reward for the amount of time and gold and effort put into getting more than 5 legendaries, I know the reward itself is having them, but I feel it is only fair to have something else for amassing a collection of this value over just a twice-told legend title and 50 achievement points.

Let me know your opinions!!

- Tons of black lion items (tp to friend, boosters, revive orbs, etc)
- Perma tools

Video of some of the duels week 2 Beta. Didn’t really film a whole lot but figured out Revenant will definitely be my new main as long as it’s not nerfed too much. Out of a couple hundred duels I only lost one from giving up on a kiting ranger after about 15 minutes. Chronomancer was the only other person who could hang with me, everyone else lost. Safe to say I’m very happy with where Revenant is at.

BONUS: Legendary weapon effects throughout the duels. I did not use hammer at all due to not really dueling with it but I use all the other ones throughout this video.

I liked where Revenant is at… Only people I was unable to beat was a chronomancer and a kiting Ranger. Which I went 50/50 with the Ranger, the Chrono vs Rev fight never ended

same with swtor, the warrior classes had the same concept, much better than this energy use concept in my opinion. It’s way too difficult to be useful with revenent as of right now trying to maintain your energy.

I picked it up without wanting or trying, had to relog and lose my spot on the map to clear it. (I don’t think I had it long, a single point cap at most, didn’t have it approaching the Forge, had it immediately after)

Are plenty of people abusing it? Definitely.
But there are some who don’t know they’ve picked it up (like me) who’d really rather not get banned because of a devs clustertruck of code.

They seriously need to fix this, it’s almost comical at this point. I have yet to meet a roamer in EB without this bug or someone in their group with it on.

I have every legendary in the game and honestly i could care less. the price of a sigil is so minuscule to the price of the weapon that i swap them out whenever I feel the need. I don’t know why you want to be swapping them all the time anyways. I pretty much leave all my weapons on zerker or celestial with either air, energy, fire, or battle and call it GG

How long did it take you to gather the materials?
Not long, I got lucky in the beginning with some precursor drops and sold them and invested pretty well into the TP, then used the TP money to buy majority of my materials. The longest part was mapping and farming the karma to make the ones I did.

What method did you use to gather the materials?
TP – Make money then buy

How long did it take to craft you overall?
They all varied, it took me about 6 or 7 months to make my first incinerator. After that I got a new one about every other week to a month depending on which ones it was. I haven’t made a new one in months.

How often did you play during that time period?
A lot. I WvW’d all the time in the beginning of the game and that is where I have gotten most of my good drops. Up to about 5,000 hours

Did you enjoy it?
I liked it at first, got repetitive. If I would have had to farm every bit of gold I would not have enjoyed it at all.

I have sense gotten better at using staff roaming but here is a quick video of it’s capabilities. Staff imo can be used in all aspects of the game, roaming, pve, spvp, etc, just depends on how you play it and your skill level/basically timing.

PS: I hate warrior, i hate playing warrior, but it’s damage abilities are far from OP. Eviscerate is easily dodgeable/blindable/negatable. It has been a very long time since I have been caught by one of them off guard.

I play thief and ele more than anything and neither of my F skills do 10k damage, but I’m not complaining because my ele f skills give me a ton more versatility, my thief steal is vital and is great on its own without Mug and doing damage.

This all comes down to a skill and experience issue. Eviscerate has been around doing that kind of damage for a long time but you get used to it and dodge it after awhile, I don’t even think about it. Fight some more warriors and soon you will learn they are very easy to fight cause they are so slow.

I’m sort of new to S/F ele, so i just have a few questions. Against the thief, it seems like you didn’t use arc lighting very much, but wouldn’t that have cleared the blinds and procced the fire sigil more. Also starting AL then switching attunements pretty much guarantees Fresh Air triggering instantly. How come you use arcane blast rather than wave? It seems like you could have downed the thief inside of SR/while stealthed a couple of times with it which would justify the longer CD.

IMO arc lightning is useless, the damage is way too low and its awkward to cast. It is useful for proccing sigils, but its not effective to clear blinds (since the thief only blinds me when he’s up close and AL is hard to cast against a constantly moving/dodging enemy)
You’re right about arcane wave instead of blast in that fight though, I just didn’t seem to think of it at the time :P

arc lightning is one of your best skills lol. you can cast it while hitting 2 and 3 then swap at the same time and it will still be casting with a good opportunity of critting and proccing sigils as well as proccing air back up…. but if it’s useless I guess its useless…

Hello, I know this is probably going to get flamed but it’s something that has bugged me. I like the fact that they released the title for 2 of the same legendaries, but when are we going to get something else for having more? Other than the 25 AP for having 5 of them.

I wish there was a title for having 5 of them, at least. And possibly more AP for more you get. What I am mainly concerned about is the fact I own every legendary in the game and nothing to show for it without switching every character and showing them off, the worst part is I always use my 2 incinerators.

It would be cool to have a title maybe for every legendary, or at least some AP or something, something to show for it than just my 2 legendary title.

Sorry I didn’t put much thought into it or much time, just kinda upsetting that we only get rewarded for up to 5.

I was unable to secure any of the names I wanted in pre-release and since then I have envied those who got the name they desired. Therefor I want to see what is out there and host a little competition/auction kind of a deal here.
