Your “beta” gives you nothing in rewards, and only for PVE content. Comparing your PVE content to PVP or WvW is kinda worthless. I am, at this point, affiremed you work for ANet. I only wanted to point out their stupidity at doing a beta weekend that affects WvW heavily during the major WvW night for most people on these servers. EU servers exist, and thought T1 has EU players…. They are not on yet. But nope… You continue to say our game mode is not important and we should be ok with it for the better of all… Why? Are WvW players not important? Are we not players of GW2? I don’t get your defense of their stupidity of this patch tonight when affects min and most of my servers (and YB’s and JQ’s) fun. Seriously… I did not sign up for this. I wanted to do reset as per norm…. But nope. ANet kittened me and my server. And enemy servers.

This is probably why they can’t beta the new WvW map with a sizable part of the community on the normal servers. If they did, even if the issues were as minor as it could get, the hardcore WvW players would just complain about how it spoiled their “prime time”.

Gaile, is it possible that the HoT Beta is extended by an extra day, or maybe just a few hours, because of this? and some form of compensation to the WvW players? nothing MAJOR. I’m not entirely sure what they could get other than WvW claim tickets xD

We have not implemented a fix yet, players that are able to get back in have either waited 10 minutes and not logged back into the launcher/game (thus disbanding the squad they were in), or their squad has disbanded from players leaving the squad they were in.

Thank you so much for an incoming Fix, But I must say I Have checked every 25-30 mins or so, and Not been able to get past the character select screen wihtout Error 1022.

I suspect it’s just one of those things.

Yes, seriously… doing any sort of beta on reset night is an idea not well thought out. The beta should have started Saturday morning. This is my ONE night of the week that I can spend the night in here and that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen at this point.

Reset night is eveyr week friday, correct? The betas are planned for weekends as they are usually when people don’t have Education/work, correct? It’s just a few hours. this isn’t going to skew the entire WvW system, eveyrone on All servers have the same thing, some people unable to enter. it’s not just you.

You’re forgetting, The expansion is PvE Based. THE LIVING STORY. Anyway, as I read earlier in this thread, This is one fo the first LONG downtimes of GW2 in 3 years, thinking over it, yes It is. And Moaning about WvW on “reset night” because “you want to be so pro” or you enjoy it, isn’t going to help anyone. Take my advice, get a drink and calm down. Wait for Arenanet to finish their repairs. You’re blowing this out of proportion by claiming Arenanet doens’t care about wvw or Mike O’brien doens;‘t or whatever. They may HATE wvw for all w eknow, but they do it anyway because it’s a playstyle they have. At the moment they are working on somehting else, and later they will work on somethign else. Just stay calm and please stop ranting about how you think this is outrageous that Anet had downtime.

But it ruined my night. I understand you Gaile. I have played GW1 since Beta, but these are ridiculous. Why not spam mass messages what you plan to fix in the game so people know. I am not asking for a long drawn message but a quick “hey we are updating squad ui, so you are aware” would be helpful. You are releasing bug fixes for a beta weekend that affects a part of the game that ANet has already given very little care about. This is very disheartening to me, my guild, my server, and WvW players in general. As I know you can see, I don’t post in the forums ever, but I felt this was bad enough to post about because you literally screwed over many peoples’ Friday nights.

I agree, thanks to Chris for keeping us updated.

But in terms of beta, applying a patch update on the most important time for many players (WvW Reset) is not the best idea to go with. With any beta you can expect errors, especially errors with people not being able to play. So it would probably be best to save the beta test for earlier in the day on fridays.

Thanks for the feedback, but the beta began at mid-day studio time. We didn’t just kick it off after dinner.

Not many people know how hard everyone works at Arenanet to try and keep as many people happy as possible. Thank you for constant updates and reminders that it is being worked on.

I believe all you do is right click your GW2 launcher icon, and go to properties and add " -repair" after the speech marks in the Target line.

But doing it on a night that affects the biggest amount of WvW players is stupid. Unlike other Betas… Which people sign up for… ANet does them on live servers. You keep saying “beta this, and beta that”, but why not run the new borderlands this weekend with squad UI update and allow no server glicko movement. Peopel would still play reset fro WvW… Understand bugs and be less angry… BUT NOOO!!!!!! It’s all for PVE casuals.

Why can’t they fix bugs in a more closed setting? Or atleast have better timing? 9 pm EST on Friday starts the busiest WvW night of the week. They could have worked on it earlier than that, or they could’ve waited until tomorrow.

And like I said before- why should everyone in the entire game be subjected to HoT-related bugs just because it’s a beta weekend? I haven’t paid for HoT, I can’t participate in beta events, and I don’t want to have to deal with its bugs.

Thank you for keeping us ntofiied Chris, Could you possibly just Auto disband all squads with an inagem message " Disbanding all squads" so people cna get back in, and then warn everyone to NOT use a com tag until everyhting is fixed?

It’s not Arenanet’s Fault none of this works as intended, they are doing their best, ( When i say arenanet, I mean all of GW2 support, the server managers, and anythign relate dtoi any server under Arenanet’s company)

Just remember, The more we try to long in, the more their servers get strained.

As in, more log-ins at once = more strains.

GUYS IF I REMEMBER RIGHTLY, IT IS BETTER TO NOT LOG IN NNWHILE THEY TRY AND FIX OR MORE AND MORE LOGINS APPEARS STRAINIGN THINGS.

I am looking for a guild that is Organised and mostly English speaking.
I am Fractal Personal Reward level 50, and I would like to join a Community that is friendly, doesn’t rely on the Meta to get things done, and has a Small to Medium number of Players.
I want to be able to do Guild Missions, have a Guild hall, and do events that require “Guilds”, Such as the Newly announced “Raids” to avoid Pugging.

In a Guild, I expect you to be proficient in all Dungeon Paths including TA-Aetherpath, All Arah Paths and able to do them with little to no problems, (Problems being Wiping, Raging, Leaving early, trouble getting there, etc.)

You shouldn’t join a run if you aren’t going to finish it. Unless you’re grouped with idiots.

I do not want an unorganised cesspool guild that invites members because they need them. I want a guild that can actually get kitten done.
You should also have a Commication of some kind, such as TeamSpeak3 or Skype.

I shouldn’t be forced to do Fractal 50 with complete Idiots to get a fractal tonic, But I am, and So far in over 2 years I have yet to get said Tonic, I usually get Nothing extra to empyreal fragments, or UNinfused rings. WHEN WILL THIS LOOT SYSTEM FOR 50 BE FIXED.

It is one of the worst loot systems ever. I want to actually get the thing I want at least ONCE in my life before I die. I shouldn’t be forced to take some kitten rings instead.

I have created a Guild that hopefully will grow based on how many people love the Lore of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2.

My Idea for the Guild is to be able to do “Hardcore” Content, such as Fractals 50 (and onwards), any new content added to the game. All the while discussing things many people do, theory-crafting, build questions etc. I would love people to join if they love a chat and doing things such as fractals 50, removes the silly PuGs.

At the moment, I am on Gandara server, so hopefully most members will be on Gandara, and then later on I could get many to go for WvW fun.

The guild was created 28/08/2015 (Gw2’s 3rd year official anniversary, not pre-order)

Edit: I made this guild mainly because I want to create a friendly community that doesn’t always follow the “trends” so, No “Metazerk” required, and general discussions.. that is the purpose of this.

I am looking for a Guild Hopefully in Gandara, but can be EU in general I think, that loves to discuss lore, theorycraft, do Dungeons and fractals level 50 (and Onwards in HoT), Love Exploring and General PvE Exploring with the occasional “Hardcore” content.

I would like everyone to be friendly, supportive, and patient, as I know how many different people act. I would also like it if Berserker/Assassin stats were not used very much, such as Soldier Guardians, Warriors, Mesmers etc. for general PvE Exploration.

Occasional PvP and WvW visits, but Majority in PvExploring and PvEnvironment.

I’ve already made a bug repor ton this, I want them to rename it “I will avenge yoU” then I can be Iway xD

Engineer Grenades Pierce WITHOUT Grenadier aswell, I tested.

I believe I have found a Bug, Alongside the known Grenades hitting twice bug, I was able to Run while in Downed state. i could not get it to work consistently and seemed to be off and on when using downed 1 and 4,

Also grenades in general Broken, Hit multiople times per grenade. and you don’t even need grenadier trait.

Anet work hard at what they do, I am 100% in agreement with their decision, World of Warcraft Expansions are costly, and then there is a subscription fee on top of that. If you don’t want to spend £50 ( deluxe) on the expansion because new players for a limited time will get GW2 as a base for free, then don’t; but Guild Wars 2 devs, producers etc. work VERY hard at what they do, this is their job. they do it so they can provide the game to you, Because all you’ve bought is the ability to use their server, they can literally shut down GW2 now, and because of the contract you signe dwhen you bought the game, which is you buy a placement in their servers while they run. You can do nothing if they shut it down, so I would make the most of what they provide before people ruin it for them

Again: The members of the Arenanet team work hard, Don’t ruin their hard work with complaints about prices, it’s not like it’s a house which you pretty much need. You don’t NEED HoT to continue playing, it’s in that spect like World of Warcraft, you don’t need all the expansions to play wow, you just get limited to areas and Classes, and in GW2 , the same thing.

I Had this Idea not long ago at all, but i just wanted to know what people thought.

Warriors get Dagger/Focus or Pistol Offhand, the F2 could be for Off-hand burst skills, or maybe F2 could be a sequence skill for F1, like use Eviscerate F1 axe, then your F2 would be like a big hit and a roll back/evade ( animation wise anyway), and Sword Flurry -> A Daze hit.
Anyway

My idea is that they get mantra/stances that are mantras that instead of charging and activating, you click and it gives you a passive “stance”, until they are deselected (excluding Elite).
They would give a slight boost in certain stats based on the mantra, and they would be named after GW1 skills:

Mantras: ( Maybe 5-10s cooldown on each after swapping)
Auspicious parry – Heal
Gain 20% chance to block an attack, when you block you get healed.
Passive Regen in stance : 700/ second (No instant Heal, or a Minor One)

Disciplined Stance
Increases Crit Chance by 10% in this stance and Crit damage by 15%

Steady Stance Gain stability on hit ( 5s cooldown) lasts 2s, increases Healing Power and Boon Duration 10%

Soldier’s Stance Increases Power and Condition Damage by 15% in this stance
Defensive Stance Toughness + Vit increased by 15%

Primal rage – Elite Increase all Stats by 15% for 30s, Cooldown – 210 seconds
gain 2 Stability every 4s ( 4s duration) attack 5% faster

I’m not sure how it compares to other people’s ideas, but i just wnated to see if it was at all a good idea since I believe warriors are not “Magic” enough to get Summons ( Spirit weapons/Minions etc) Glamours, Glyphs, or other kinds of “Magic” like Meditations.

And Maybe a New Rune for both Mes and War Mantras that would hav esomehting to do with Activating a Mantra either Heals you or Gives a boon or maybe it would let you evade for 1s or something on use with a 10s cooldown

I do apologise, but how is just resetting the thing so that everyone with the nomad rings and accessories available can purchase nomad amulets complex? the wvw tickets seemed fine, sent 1/2 out 1/2 not, you voided 1/2 tickets then reset everything, you could reset it so everyone who meets the criteria get them, it doens’t sound the least bit hard…

I know, for almost 5 months now i have been complaining and they do f-all to give us nomad amulets, screw nomad utility i just want my nomad amulets that i earned. It’s so stupid that they are working on stuff no-one bloody needs and don’t fix somehting that affects game balance, say if Nomad was Berserker and only SOME people could get berserker and some couldn’t there would be Outrage.
