Not at all.
I know there’s no lore precedent for it but I thought it might be an interesting explanation for the coincidence.
It does seem like they did do a bit too much lore “shuffling” to make the GW2 story fit, to the point where the lore isn’t really solid. The bosses really suffer from the same thing all bosses in MMOs do, it’s hard to introduce them in this kind of world except through story instances.
I’ve wondered about the undead connection. Though i doubt it was planned in advance, perhaps the presence of Zhaitan influenced the outcome of the cataclysm, modified the scroll’s magic or was the source. Maybe he’s the reason the Visier Khilbron became a Lich and the Orrians became undead. Just a thought.
I always spend way too much time on these decisions too. The noble’s friend really only takes part in a few missions so it’s not bad enough to be a deal breaker in my opinion, my guardian is a noble and it does seem like a good fit.
Vigil’s a good choice for LG. Gods don’t really affect much, just choose one that sounds like a good fit for your character. I prefer the commoner backstory since your npc friend is kind of annoying in noble but either is good. Parents or sister is pretty even but the sister allows you flesh out your character’s history a little while the parents one kind of hands you your character’s history.
I’d like to see him corrupted by a surviving Zhaitan, leading to a sundering of the Pact. It would be more interesting if Zhaitan had pulled a Loki and brought the races together only to shatter them at right moment, and give the Dragons some proper power. Right now it just seems like things are going too well and what is supposed to be at least as powerful as a god was shot down a little to easily. It would also give the players a chance to deal with him in an interesting way, whether they hated him or not. Just a quick idea…
The only profession that existed before the giving of magic was Ritualism.
There was a piece of lore that stated human mages existed before but were only elementalists, I shall attempt to find the source.
EDIT: It’s stated here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic I’m not sure where the wiki writer got it from though.

Elementalists still use magic bound to the bloodstones (Destruction).
Generally, but they aren’t restricted to it like the other professions. They existed before Abaddon gave the ability to use bloodstone magic.
I’ve run into a few that treat you as the race for that city even when you’re not, like my human getting congratulated for participating in the great hunt. I guess they just don’t expect you to be talking to them if you’re not that race…
Just think “City of the Gods” (Temples included)
@Mikhail – I think you did a pretty good job of summing it up. Ritualists get their power from spirits that grant it to them, the question is where they get it. It would seem that they obtain their power from the mists themselves and Razah would get his power in a similar fashion. Since there are no longer ritualists in GW2 I see two options:
Necromancer – They use life energy which is sort of similar to gaining power from spirits like you said.
Elementalist – They are the only profession capable of using raw magic (Magic not bound to the bloodstones or granted by other beings).
Magic itself isn’t really clearly defined in the Guild Wars universe though and there isn’t really a profession that represents Razah well in GW2.
I’m kind of disappointed they cost gold as well, I don’t have a lvl 80 character yet so it’s a lot of gold for me.
