I swear this is the only MMO I’ve played where people try and optimize being bad; that ranger thread made my heart hurt.

I am on at odd times compared to most of my friends list/guildies, so I used to pug a lot. I haven’t pugged in a month or two, or run any dungeons at all (that I remember) in the past couple weeks; I really haven’t noticed any huge improvements among pugs. I totally have an absolutely massive folder of screenshots of fail pugs that I share with people because some of the stuff I used to find was just unbelievable.

Maybe I should start up again, for science, but I’d probably just get discouraged reading the terribly spelled/dumb LFMs.

Twitter is the devil, it is far too tempting to just tweet cat pictures and verbal abuse all day.

Canadian accent best accent (I wish); an Aussie I worked with once told me we all sound like pirates, it made me happy.

The reason I am against stacking is because it is so kitten simplistic. I`ve been a hardcore raider for years and to me this game is just childs-play, with its lack of strategy and thought required. Its hard for me to understand why ANYONE would fervently defend such a basic game design.

I did (and do) often enough. For me it makes no difference if I dodge into a wall while fighting Alpha or through him, as an example. Maybe it is just me, but it feels the same to me.

I’d still like to hear from you what’s the difference, since you clearly have experience with both and therefore can tell me.

Look, I get that this forum’s regulars are pro-stacking and tend to flip their kitten when it is brought up. But this goes beyond reasonable, straight past ridiculous, and over to the extreme side of sad. Please stop.

Hey now, I just want to save the PHIW, I’m an advocate, a conservationist really.

I want to wrap the world in bubble wrap so they don’t hurt themselves on all the hard edges and difficult bosses. I want to shelter them from the groups that expect them to contribute anything to their own success. I would give them soft and fluffy Nomad armor so they don’t die when they fail to dodge and blame it on stacking. I would even go so far as to teach them to read so they can actually join groups with descriptions that match their play styles. I would make it so their feelings never got hurt by all the nasty elitists, and they would never have to come here and post the same thread over and over again, and get answers they don’t want to hear. I just want to hug them all.

Doing damage is an exploit, why else do you think Arena Net introduced Nomad armor, the ultimate armor for real dungeon runners who don’t want to exploit by doing filthy, filthy damage.

I see the solution now: it’s to force everyone to wear Nomad armor, just like the elitists tried to make everyone wear Berserker armor. That way no one can do any damage, and we can all do dungeons the way Arena Net intended.

I’ve played MMOs that have had collision detection before, if anything stacking in them was far easier. You could pin a boss in a corner or against a wall with your bodies and have him never move at all, just because collision detection prevented him from walking through you. You could also surround bosses out in the open and prevent them from moving with as little as 3 people if his hit box was large enough to prevent him from moving through the spaces between the people.

Collision detection is a terrible solution to a non existent problem, think about the massive issues it would cause in open world, WvW, or just trying to get close enough to use an auction house or bank; also, the AI in this game is terrible enough, adding collision detection would probably make breaking the AI super easy.

I can think of so many trolling opportunities with collision detection, small hallways and large charr blocking progress for entire groups, nothing good would come of it. Just the fact that there are jumping puzzles in this game pretty much means you could never have collision detection.

If you don’t want to stack join a non-stacking group or make your own, simple.

After much geode farming I’m starting to get together my sylvari’s total makeover. I’m going for a sort of autumnal willow tree/amber toned look to go with the ambrite greatsword. I don’t think I have the dyes quite nailed, I’m using sylvari cultural T3 for the barkiness, any suggestions?

Azura ranger feels like it would fit – I can imagine one of them being in to fossils and figuring out how to recalibrate the aethervolt flux matrix of their <fill in weapon here> to take advantage of one. Or a sylvari guardian/warrior/ranger with a big weapon, to show it off better and have a strength-of-nature feel – plus it seems like it might go nicely with autumn colours.

I was thinking maybe my sylvari warrior might work, but then I’d have to change it’s freakishly bright yellow look to more autumnal colours. I could always roll I new character as I have a toon I have been meaning to reroll, but I have been putting that off in case I am swayed to the horrible female human meta by gel pens.

I really like the idea of the new Ambrite weapons, the colours seem really classy to me. Yesterday I looted one of the fossils, so I am itching to incorporate one or more of the weapons into a look, but I am drawing a blank at what race and class they would best fit with. Maybe sylvari?

Strider, it’s probably the last one I like that I don’t have; gotta stock up on those good looking armors if I am ever convinced to reroll something to follow that human female meta.

I think maybe people were intimidated by having to get an entire group of fashionable people together.

I was the asura on Team Slytherin, I can’t speak for Rising Dusk but I can get together the responses from the other 3 people and I’ll post their armor combos when I hear back. I’m internet bullying them now so it shouldn’t be long.

P.S: Why can’t we be GoT houses? In the GoT you’re fashionable or you die (might need to come up with a fabulous word that starts with T).

I never realised how tiny my asura is, it just gets lost in some of those screenshots.

Also between disorganisation and the sloppiness of that dungeon I almost had a stroke; actually I totally might have had a stroke and just not known it. You’re lucky you didn’t have to hear me trying to herd cats in vent, herding actual cats would probably have been easier.
