I want to see The Shatterer completely decimate a group, and then progress to take over the entire map unless people band together to stop him. I want to login one day and be told in guild chat that the entire map is lost and we should help try to take it back.

What “Living World” should be
Before Guild Wars 2 was launched, I was under the impression that each main city was going to have a mini game.
So the Norn have keg brawl… and that is in the game now.
What should the other races get?
Asura were supposed to have Polymock (or minipet arena) of this I am certain.
Charr could customize and race vehicles? or maybe battle things gladiator style in their arena/auditorium?
Sylvari? I’d say Seed Turret Tower defense (maybe parody plants versus zombies).
Humans? I draw a blank.
Survival vs endless waves of centaurs?
I think the humans have seen enough of the centaurs…. but I can’t think of anything better at the moment.What do you guys think would be great minigames for the remaining three races’ main cities?

Combo fields are where most of the “depth” of the combat system is. It used to amaze me that people could have been playing for months and not really know how they work, but it seems more common than players who have a good knowledge of all fields and finishers. I think a lot of it has to do with how much weaker the mobs (outside of some dungeons and events) are than originally intended, which makes it too easy to just spam whatever buttons you have on cooldown in most events.

Every ~20sec my engineer can self-combo blast 3 times with 2 water fields, healing from nearly dead to full health, or gain 10 sec of retaliation, or 9 stacks of might, just with the current build he’s using. Elementalists are combo machines, as one of the most versatile classes, but every class benefits from knowledge of the uses of combo fields.
One thing that a lot of people don’t realize is there is a priority list for combo fields. Meaning if several different types are over-layed, the one with the highest priority is the one which will be triggered by finishers. This is key when trying for specific effects. Nothing like trying to blast a water field and getting chaos armor from an overlapping ethereal field (for some reason ethereal seems to be the highest priority).
Generally considered squishy and useless in dungeons, thieves have access to the fastest repeatable blast finisher, making them excellent healers/buffers with a somewhat coordinated party. That’s 100% uptime on regeneration and a blast heal every second, in addition to a condition removed every 3 sec and possibly traited vigor as well.
Not saying that’s an optimal comp, but it’s silly how many times I’ve heard that either thieves or rangers are bad support, or suck for this or that, when they have the best water/blast synergy in game with one button each and no special build required.On a random side note, I miss the old evasive arcana, that blast finisher would trigger on every dodge no matter attunement, with no cooldown. With the pre-nerfed sigil of energy and runes of the adventurer, my elementalist could perma-dodge, blasting any field in sight every couple seconds. Okay, maybe that was OP…… (especially without a cap on healing targets in WvW, but hey, turtle wars was pretty boring, I guess arrow cart wars is slightly better)
Look at all those cool an skillful things you can do with those neat classes!
Combo fields mean literally nothing to Necros, as all their fields are undesirable, and all their finishers are awkward and unusable/impractical ; ~ ;.

Also, I’ll be roaming a lot so if you see an [Agg] Guardian in full T3 armor solo or with a few people during the daytime be sure to give me a wave! I’ve been trying to find small scale fights and dueling opportunities but it’s quite a bit harder when A-net engineers T2 vs T3 vs T4 server matchups -_-.

I got tired of how borked WvW was with the siege glitch so I decided to take a cat nap on TC’s northern doorstep.
Managed to stay there for over 6 mins before a lucky KH guy came by and collected my bag.

Regular AC’s are not op. They can still barely do damage to an army and don’t do much to slow down an attack. Unless of course you have 12 of them like what certain people were complaining about. However, I have never seen 12 ac’s set up in my tier.
There is definitely a difference between higher and lower tiers opinions on this matter. Just the other day, we had 4 ac’s set up and they did kitten to defend agains a golem rush. May as well have just sat there and not built them. This was in a T3 fortified gate.
They need to make AC’s damage Golems more. Or make Golems damage gates less (which is my preference). The rate at which golems can melt even a fortified gate is rediculous. You may as well have a bunch of Quaggans stacked up in the archway.
idk, i don’t like the idea of arrow’s killing rams and golems. Kinda wish Balista’s wern’t so completely useless in how they have to be placed, they make great anti siege weapons. . sometimes. =/

Open field combat is the best part of this game. (I hate Spvp/Tpvp with a passion because you need to hold points….. = BORING)
this bug makes things more fun because you actually fight real players instead of having to worry about siege hitting you.

Devon is very commutative, much more so then the person before him, don’t discourage him! Sure, traps were >terrible,< and we’re still waiting for some exciting map changes, but Devon probably isn’t a programer and can’t make the siege fix come out any faster ~ ; ;.
Defending against a larger force is easier now then ever sense Carts were made OP o-o. 3 AC’s = no pvdoor and and no rams. And if its an enemy zergy smart enough to use a treb to kill all your carts, you just hope you have 5ish people around to flash build a treb before them to kill theirs~
We attempted using omegas for defense.
It was horrendously ineffective, but awesome.
Also, no siege sure is fun when the enemy massively outnumbers you.

TCBL tonight. Most fun I’ve had in weeks! So much fun!!! Great fights all around, it was a blast walking into a red and blue map and painting it green again! Garrison was insane! Between Agg and company, along with FA stomping in behind us, it was pins and needles as to who got it and kept it. Fights like tonights are why I LOVE WvW!!!
So ready for siege cap to be fixed though, seemed like whoever could actually place siege won. Hearing commanders saying they couldn’t drop rams, trebs, ect. sucked, but then they’d follow that statement up with “Screw it! Madmode that door down!” And we would, and life was good.
I concur; props to both DB and FA for keeping us on our toes in TCBL. That [Agg] ball, in particular, was mildly terrifying.

I was going to post something without the screenshot or the tag showing but yeah… really…you have to be on top of the SW camp building. I know you can jump up there out of combat, but it is as dirty a trick as fly hacking because you know being up there is not intended.
Its entirely intended! It has its own little jumping puzzle to get up there.
This is clearly a l2j issue, an not an actuall problem. (Learn too jump)
Buuht if you need advice, a quick mes, necro, or theif pull could remove them from up there very easily, not to mention you could just kill them with a ranged weapon ^.~!

- train the staff (similar to the southern Queensdale training heart-quests; you train NPCs inside the keep by using environmental weapons) – reward: Karma, Gold, a random piece of loot + stronger NPC-guards.
I would like this if you could actually find loitering npc’s in the tower/keep an train them like that to upgrade the guards, as oppose to dropping a gold or two and having them magically appear 10 or so min later^^

Why do you keep posting the score? I have done a lot of GvG’s and never seen anyone so disrespectful, which is counter to what GvG’s are about.
??? Its not Zerg vs Zerg. When two guilds agree to gvg they have every right to post the official scoring and videos. In fact, people do want to know the scores therefore your argument is invalid. Clearly you don’t do GvG’s right. We lost to VoTF, they posted a score and we didn’t complain. We actually posted a video of our loss in respects to the match. Point and case .

If i’m roaming, and solo or not in a full party I almost always invite ppl after a 1v1 fight or 2v2, 2v3, 3v2, w/e~ an say GoodFight.(win or loose) I usually try twice if someone doesn’t accept, and I make it a point to always accept other peoples invites. I never consider it rude though to decline, or get declined. No biggie, there’s a large amount of people who can’t take loosing, or win and can’t take a complement^^.

tPvP has only one game mode, and if you don’t enjoy it you’re out of luck. Plus, tPvP has terrible gear choices, and ontop of that, unless you’ve played 1,000+ games you’re gear looks turrubul too, lol~

To anyone who has friends joining and will most likely be up leveled in WvW::
Gear stats scale as though you were wearing level 80 gear, so if you deck your level 20 Warrior friend out in full level 20 Blue Vitality gear they will have well over 30k hp^^.
Its very important for uplevel’s to wear gear as close to their level as possible to get the most out of the stats on the gear^^. Also white/blu/green low level gear is extremely inexpensive on the TP, sos easy to change out as you level up
To be honest, I’m quite surprised TC and Kain (I don’t know much about FA) don’t have havoc squads running about. I remember quite a bit of fun with their small groups when we faced them. Then again it was pre WXP.

What is your definition of Havoc Squad? I think the OP is talking more about 2, 3, 4, 5 man groups rather than 20 man squads. And even if they did exist, the OP simply stated they he wants to get them on IRC so they can set up fights. What’s wrong with that?
