I’m on Emery Bay. My sister and I will be on tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night (EST, which is GMT -5). Any help would be appreciated. If that doesn’t work we will be on this weekend also.

M Starfish. I did try that strategy and almost made it the last time. I killed off the servants one by one then snuck up along the right (south) side. I waited until the champion started their patrol down the stairs. I came out of the congested mess of coral, bushes and rocks and engaged the jester. Unfortunately the champion returned before I could finish off the jester so died once again. Also died several times in that mess along the side when the champion detected me lurking there. I guess I’m not that sneaky. I may talk my sister into partnering with me on this one.

Mercury:
“Skillpoints: …

Winterknel Isle aka labyrinth. Work you way through the labyrinth, kill all foes on the way and take your time finding the right route. Make sure you dont rush and at the skillpoint you got it cleaned before getting the vet out.

Grave Cay: both sp’s there are commune if I remember right. No special mobs, you jsut have to clean.

Skillpoints with statues like meladru, the skillpoint in cathedral of silence and poi and wp at the narthex.

These area’s are a no go area solo unless the pact controls them. You can use external sites to see wich servers control that so called ‘temples’ and gues to those servers. The Nartex is also called the gates of Arah.

One good site is gw2bear.com"

Thanks for the info. I’m pretty sure I can solo Winterknell. I almost made it last attempt. I stupidly activated the guard thingy before I had killed the veteran. Even then I almost killed the guard so will try that one again.

The grave Cay one had brambles that my sister and I died from, haven’t tried to solo that one yet.

When my sister and I tried the Narthex every statue was active (or contested). This past weekend we noticed that some of the statues were inactive or uncontested. How do the statues get inactivated. On our attempt she died in the middle of the promenade and although I got into the Narthex it was not close enough to get the POI and the WP. If I had gotten it I was going to use begin portal then TP then end portal for her to make it. Not sure if portals persist through a TP or not so it might not have worked anyway.

Thanks again.

This isn't really going anywhere..

All gold, laurels, karma, etc are for the whole account now. They are no longer tied to a particular character.

I have a level 80 mesmer that has 99% of the world map. The only things she is missing are 4 skill points (near Noose Road, Winterknell Isle, Graven Cay and Catherdral of Silence) and the Narthex POI and WP in Cursed Shores. My sister, with her level 80 Elementist, and I have gotten most of the CS. She is reluctant to go unless we get others to joins us, so I have solo’ed some of it but I am having problems with these last things.

Any advice for my mesmer would be appreciated. Also I find the statues of Melandru with their brambles to be a pain. Any advice on how to handle them?

1 - 80 with crafting only.

I don’t think you can reach level 80 by crafting only. For one thing how will you get the materials to craft with?

Why can't I choose?!

I have a ranger, a mesmer and an elementalist. Of the 3 the mesmer is the slowest and I miss the AOE damage of the other 2, but I find it the most fun to play. The problem for me is that mesmers can use so many weapons and there are so many ways to spec and play it’s hard to limit myself. I’ve started a second mesmer so I can learn a different build. My first one is mainly greatsword, sword/sword or sword/pistol and built for phantasim damage. The second one is staff, sceptor/torch or sceptor/pistol and build more for confusion/CC and glamors.

I did initially try the necromancer but decided I liked the other 3 better and since this is my first MMO I had enough to learn as it is. I do plan to play a thief, a necromancer and a guardian sometime in the future, if for no other reason than to know what I could come up against if I decide to play PvP or WvWvW.

You can play one of each and then decide.
