Guild hall and personal housing

One thing I really wish we would have if guild halls were added would be some sort of node collection. Like do X achievement(s) or collect X merits to unlock a mine, then upgrade the mine to offer the various metals (iron, silver, gold, mithril, orichalcum), a garden for foods (holds x amount of food types, some sort of mini quest to unlock seeds for a crop) and various trees. Make guild halls not only a way to show off but a way to make the day easier.

Holy crap, yes! I like the idea of a mine, kind of expanding the land your guild “owns”. Putting crafting stations and maybe even moving some of the guild vendors into the hall would be a good thing as well.

Unbinding kit

You should now have an account bound, white quality version of the skin you wanted to unbind that can be placed in the bank for use on any applicable character.

I don’t want a skin unbound, I want the original item unbound. So that greatsword with +20power and some cond. dmg, I want that exact sword, not one that looks like it (I made up those stats).

Offer A Refund To Mac Users

I didn’t say get your money back via the forum . . . I said an open support ticket with the company . . . two very different things. I shal quote directly from my prior comment: “…I feel like maybe openning a support ticket directly to the company would be the right way to go about a refund, not on an open forum…”

I honestly appreciate your anger, I’ve been dealing with games that say they work on Mac and don’t for a long time. I’ve tried to force Play on Mac to work with various games to no avail (though I’m told Play on Linux works great for GW2, since they’re both WINE based you might try Play on Mac, it’s free). I can fully empathize with you, I just don’t see the point in making demands on a forum, that almost never works.

Offer A Refund To Mac Users

Btw I know exactly what a beta is, I have been a beta tester on more games then you have probably even played. They can label this Beta all they want, it doesn’t make it one. It’s just an excuse not to have to fix anything for Mac users when they update the game for PC users.

If you were an honest beta tester (and as you neither know my age nor my profession you can’t say anything about the number of alpha/beta tests I’ve been involved in) you would know that throwing out a fix in DirectX is one thing, while making the same fix in OpenGL is something else altogether. I respect that you have an issue, I sympathize with you in your anger – especially if it’s true that they outright won’t fix an issue. However, as one of the few MMOs actually supporting Mac customers I would think that, as a Mac user, you would cut them a little more slack than the average PC jockey.

It’s most unfortunate that you’re having problems, I’m interested in what the problem is in case my fiance (not my “woman”, thank you) encounters it. Also, I feel like maybe openning a support ticket directly to the company would be the right way to go about a refund, not on an open forum where you just look like a loon complaining about things and flaming people. Just my opinion, grain of salt and all that.

Ooh I agree with this one!

In all honesty, this is the only major complaint I’ve run into so far. I keep kicking myself for not having picked this game up earlier, but it’s lacking this one particular feature that I think is almost required in an MMO.

Unbinding kit

This process of taking soulbound armor from on character and binding them to another is currently possible with fine transmutation stones

It unbinds the physical bit of gear, or allows you to separate the transmuted item so you can have the same look and style? When I think of this, I’m thinking about maybe a greatsword that my Mesmer was using but I want to pass on to a younger Warrior on his way up the levels.

Any unbind item would never be lower than at least 1600 gems each on my mind. (legendaries related)

That is a fair point, and one I didn’t think to include in my prior thoughts. Perhaps there would be restrictions on legendary items, or classes of unbind kits, much like the classes of different salvage kits? I don’t see the point in unbinding blues, and even greens once your magic find is high enough and/or you’re crafting comparable gear. So maybe it should only even work above that?

250 charges is way too many for only 600-800 gems. I think kim possible has the closer price of it. I would pay something like 100 gems for a single use, 800 gems for a ten charge unbind kit. That seems more in line with the gem store prices, also I think it needs to be a gem store item. Having that in the world wouldn’t be useful, I think.

Selling items back to the Gem Store

I don’t think the idea is horrible, but I don’t think you should be able to sell them for gems. I think if, instead, you could sell it for the gold equivalent at current market value. So, just using round numbers, you have something that would normally cost 100 gems and you want to sell it with the current market exchange value being 3 gold for 100 gems. This means you get three gold, but if you wait until tomorrow, it might be worth 3g45s. Normally, I would much rather have in-game currency than cash shop currency. If there’s something I want, I’ll get the gems, but most of the time I want to buy and sell thigns on the AH system.

Normalize base health

If you change the health pools then you have to alter the abilities each profession has. Balancing is a tricky thing to work out – and one of those things that will never be perfect – each profession must be balanced in itself, then across a group make-up, then across a raid-sized group, then across PvP and WvW . . . it’s a lot of fine lines that are often blurry. I say let the professionals work their magic, so long as they don’t take the World of Warcraft approach we should befine.

Offer A Refund To Mac Users

If you wanted a refund then you could have submitted a support ticket and asked for one after you had purchased the game – they are very accommodating.

Your comments however are rather sensationalised and baseless. The OSX client is by no means unusable and for the majority of players it works quite well, if it has not worked for you that is unfortunate, but that is not a reflection of the product itself and relates to individual circumstances.

Furthermore you didn’t purchase the right to play it on a mac, you purchased the right to an account – it has been explicitly stated that the OSX client is in beta so its kind of a buyer beware situation. You purchased something that has by no means been touted as a perfect, fully functional product.

If you want a refund then submit a support ticket. If it has been a while since you actually purchased it then it really is your own issue…

You can not speak for the majority, only for yourself. If you actually read these very forums you would see that it does not work for a lot of Mac users. This game is unplayable for even myself. Anet refuses to fix the problems, they only point you to old threads to try and fix new problems. This game worked amazing on my system until the queens jubilee BS update. Since then the game crashes to desktop after 5-10 min.

Saying this is still in beta is just an excuse, and not a good one.

I suppose people forget what beta means, also you almost always only hear from the negative. So using the forums as the sole point of reference is a bad practice. You would have to get the total sales and downloads of the Mac Client, then get the total number of users (not individual posts) making reports of horrid and non-usable software, then get your average from there. Even then, there are variables to consider like the person who gets mad at the one thing and jumps online to gripe about it. Normally that is regardless of the fact that every other part of the client works fine for them, so I would say there is a +/- 5-10% error even in my basic equation.

My fiance is playing on Mac and it all works just fine. In fact, some things she does runs a little smoother than my custom gaming rig, so I can support the Mac Client. As an avid supporter of devs making games Mac/Linux compatable, this is a great step and I think people just need to learn a little patience in order for them to get it right. Direct X is that industry standard, so Open GL takes a little longer to make work sometimes.

Saying the forums tell us it sucks is just an excuse, and not a good one.

Reload UI

I looked around a bit, but didn’t see this suggestion anywhere. I think we need a reload ui feature. Most games have this in case something gets a little buggy, you simply type in “/rui” or “/reloadui” and it flash-loads the base systems allowing for things like audio bugs or small graphic issues to be resolved. Most recently I needed this after a patch that caused an audio glitch. Every time I talk to a Scout my character and battle sounds vanish. All the volumes are where I left them, but everything except music and ambient noises go away. Once I load to a waypoint or view a vista (or if none are nearby I go to character select and log back in) everything is back to normal. With a quick and easy reload ui command, this could be resolved a little quicker – along with several other issues that may or may not arise.

Seeking Guild on Blackgate GMT-6

in Looking for...

Posted by: LeeroyNimoy.1864

LeeroyNimoy.1864

Myself and two friends are looking for a guild on the Blackgate server. We are new to Guild Wars 2, but not the MMO community. We are:
*Over 18
*Knowledgeable about the basic MMO playstyles
*Active between 6:00p and midnight GMT-6 weekdays
*More active on weekends
*Altoholics

We prefer PvE gameplay, but enjoy the occassional PvP and are interested in seeing how WvW runs. We are not seeking a large, uncarring guild with all the perks and upgrades, but we will consider one. We also have a small guild of our own which we create in every game we play, thus we will be representing ourselves from time to time, but are willing to represent your guild as well.
