The forums were fun enough that I didn’t have to WvW!! No but seriously I have family in town so I basically just did dailies this week except reset night. I shouldn’t have been able to do that either but yay for 7 hour delays. I think we had some raids but I wasn’t there for any of them. Sadly I am going to a place with no internet this weekend so I can’t participate in any awesome forum threads!

That only leaves FA and DB to troll us and they aren’t anywhere near as much fun. SoR and BG will just bicker over who’s blob is bigger and who’s timezones are stacking and lacking

IMHO, It does not matter, if 5-60 run over you stomp, laugh, teabag, spawn camp whatever, 30 seconds afterwards I have forgotten, it does NOT change my playstyle.

If a good fight between 2 well matched players is fought out and the winner ( without previously arranging it) declines the stomp , bows and leaves, I remember the encounter.

Play how you wish, please keep turning out to WvW.

Great guild, great people. I’d be the one spending hours on end seiging up and fully fortifying a tower only to have it lost to one group while the DB group was busy trying to hold onto a paper Bay which they seemed to believe was more important on the home map.

Of course… if you didn’t notice, that’s part of the problem right there.

I doubt it. We’re having queues now like we haven’t seen in quite some time (except for the past couple days with a six figure lead that is). It seems to have rejuvenated the community to have someone fresh to go up against. The competition has been no where near as competitive as BG & SoR, but it’s been fun. I think a lot of us are ready to get back to some competition again though, so hopefully the energy will sustain once we’re facing them again.

But that’s not how fairweathers work.

A lot of what we’ve seen the past month or two has been a general ennui as a result of BG/SoR/JQ week after week after week. People needed and took breaks. Now a little variety has heads popping up like a family of meercats when someone yells “Fresh bugs!”. A lot that took a few weeks off are coming back, having fun, and hopefully will continue to do so once the competition is ramped back up again.

Dragonbrand is so used to seeing fairweathers that it’s easy to get confused these days, so you’re allowed to be wrong. No worries. The difference is that we have people who chose to stay in the Quarry finding a little renewed energy with a changing match up as opposed to those that flock from one server to another looking to be carried to the win every week.

Of course, to be perfectly fair, I need to give credit where credit is due as well, with people like Jed and the whole RATS movement bringing the server closer together through unifying efforts that are really making a difference in the overall feel of things. Combine that with the fresh faces and things are really feeling like they should in WvW.

Meh, i agree on my knowledge of DB fairweather problem. But again sounds like people coming back after you’re not losing stills seems fairweatherish to me and didn’t JQ have a few of guilds transfers off to BG and SOR?(i dont read T1 forums enough to so dreadfully boring)

What sucks is if they do, all the people posting in this thread from JQ will just bandwagon to another T1 server for their hard-earned victory and there will be nobody left to tease on JQ.

I think the bandwagon has already started. EMP is not the force it was anymore. I also heard a few rumors about some large guilds planning to transfer.

It must be hard for people on a server used to winning to be the bottom of T1, or drop down to T2. TC got them beat.

I left Maguuma in search of a server that I could log onto whenever I wanted and play WvW with people. I think a lot of people in T1 are the same, they play multiple time zones and enjoy playing with various people. The lag and queues are definitely worth the trade off for me. As far as terrible players, I’m not sure what you’re using for your criteria but I haven’t had a problem with all that many people.

For me at least, at the end of the day, winning doesn’t matter all that much. I just enjoy the large population. You could compare it to living in NYC (or any super-populated city), yeah there’s a lot of crap, but the convenience is often better than the alternatives.

……., a lot of guilds would not like to be in a situation where the basis of the whole server’s weekly performance based off of how many hours their guild puts in. I understand why some people might enjoy that. I just do not care for it.

Very close, but it doesn’t even have to be a tier, just one spot. I’ve seen people on DB complain about TC zerging, and then I’m sure FA has said things about you guys; and so on.

Just about everyone zergs about the same level(s) T3-T5 (at times). CD can get away with saying they don’t zerg as much though, give them credit there.

You guys had what we are affectionately referring to the “mega-zerg” that goes back and forth between CD BL and SOS BL to completely flip the maps and it was going all day today (not necessarily the same people in it the whole time, but it was probably the same zerg all day). The sad part is that neither CD or SoS can keep enough people on their BL all day long to prevent the flips so it’s frustrating when we aren’t in prime hours.

It was a lot of fun when we did get numbers onto the map though. Great fights

It’s true, the vast majority of DB are kittens that hide in towers until the half-naked SEA zerg logs on and blobs everything. Have yet to face an equal number DB force in open field and lose… not sure what’s up with that.

Hey Fuzzion, I was highly suspecting the same. Anet must have manipulated manually on the match-up.

So JQ must get bored these weeks, to get some fun from wvw, our ultimate boss Waha called [ATM] for leveling our new purple Afro asura toons (chosen one of classes-ele/guard/warr/mesmer,same hight, figure, hair color and style) last a couple of nights (Oceanic time zone) through WVW and still nailed those so called GvG guilds and toke towers, garrions. almost of us level range was like 15-30 and almost of us picked new classes we never played, basically one hit killed by any champ NPC in wvw. we cross learned classes while voice chatting in TS and shared the knowledges. SOOO much fun.
we purple afro asuras will hopefully get full 80 by this end of week. will be more fun at that time. feel free to join us even if your not part of [ATM].
[ATM] is having 40+ purple afro asuras at the moment and the number is increasing. you can expect a full lvl 80 army leaded by JQ SEA boss Waha formed from 50+ nearly identical appearance asura next match-up.
any guilds during SEA/Oceanic time, plz dont run away if you see afro asura this week. we all greens.

the attached ‘say hi’ was taken last Saturday (i was in there). I created one and leveled 4 levels within 2 or 3 hours last night…

What people really need to understand about Maguuma is that we have fun with each other. On forums, in game, in wvw, etc. Win or lose. And that is what games are about. Not really “recruit most people so we can win with bads lolol”. We do get transfers, and almost all of them have stayed and enjoyed the server for what it is. We have no aspirations to climb to Tier 2 or anything, just want to have fun guyyyyyyyys.

Also, we drink tears. Our doctors recommend it to help with problems “down there”.
