You do travel all over Tyria for a legendary, it requires 100% world completion to get one.

Except that all of Tyria is a ghost land. And in concern with Legendary Weapons, How much time do you think a person spent in Orr vs. the rest of Tyria?

Why, Why, Why?

I want to make a following statement. First, I believe the new content of the dungeon is fantastic, along with a more random experience each dungeon run. I’m not here to say that the new dungeon and it’s ‘fun’ level is nonexistent.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/my-legend-grows-forging-your-first-legendary-weapon/

-Manifesto
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35BPhT-KI1E

“Legendary Weapons are the end result of an epic adventure in Guild Wars 2. You’ll travel all over, collecting items and amassing materials to build your Legendary Weapon.”

Real game mechanics: A person with around 1,000 achivement points can have a legendary while a player with 10,000 points might not have one. So how is this fair to the “You’ll travel all over…”?

Barely a month into the game Anet states: “You’ll begin to see some ambitious players wielding Legendary Weapons in game very soon.”

Is this the ambitious players who explored all of Tyria, or grinded out Orr and/or played the Black Lion Trading post? Or is the ambitious group with the sole purpose to have a person yield a Legendary Weapon? Anet, why were you so excited about players getting Legendary Weapons only after a month into the game?

About Acended gear-
“Our goal is to ensure we have a proper progression for players from exotic up to legendary without a massive jump in reward between the two. "

Then why not introduce a system that forces players to truely explore Tyria? Why does Acended gear have to be Pink text gear instead of Orange exotic ‘Acended Armor of (Name)’? Why can’t acended gear be gained from duing certian dynamic events around Tyria and obtaining tokens from all dungeons? Why is it that a person with Acended gear will only need 1,500 achivement points instead of an exaturated 15,000? Why is Acended gear following the same failed principle of Legendary Weapons?

To piggy back off the idea that Ascended gear should be Orange Exotic instead of Pink; if Anet wanted to implement gated communities, then why not just simple add another accessory slot to the player explicitly only for gated content?

“They’re designed to stand out and show everyone that you are a true master of Guild Wars 2.”

Yes. I definitely am. I was around pre-launch. I know people that hunted for Legendaries and I watched the people that kept threads about their progress up Guru.

Those people that got their Legendary within a month picked that as a goal. They wanted to be “world first” to have an item. But something you are not considering is that those people didn’t do it alone. They had groups of friends or guild-mates playing with them non-stop to meet that goal. There was one guild created specifically for that purpose and everything each member did was revolved around making progress towards a legendary.

One group would rush the player around for world completion, two others would focus on the crafts needed for the gifts, a few others would farm items to promote up to gold to try to forge pre-cursors or to salvage for ecto. Do you see how that can exponentially speed up the process? If there are 12 people dedicated to helping create a legendary in a month, then 12 months of play time went in to crafting it.

“…and the rest of the game is a boring grind to get to the fun stuff”
“As a structure the MMO has lost the ability to the player feel like a hero.”

i didnt know legendary has more stats than exotic now…the reason i never farmed that stuff was exactly that…same stats, i supose i will start farming the bifrost.

Maybe more ideas on event/achievement based Legendary/Ascended gear?

Zoul.1087

The Halloween content was amazing. I give credit for that. It was FUN, and added more fun. The rewards weren’t as great but I still enjoyed the whole process. The scavenger hunt was one of the best quests in any game I ever played.

“You’ll begin to see some ambitious players wielding Legendary Weapons in game very soon.”

All the people I see with a Legendary use to hang out at the Orr farm spots….

If I wanted ‘stat progression’ I would have re-activated my WoW account. I wanted the GW1/2 philosophy, hence why I gave money to Anet and not WoW. Will see which direction Anet takes and make my decision from there.

Thing bring Material not loops. Tell a woman with breast cancer that same line and see where the real insult is.

I wouldn’t TELL a woman with breast cancer that line that bluntly. I would tell my own mother that line, but that’s because she needs a swift kick sometimes to get her self-motivation in gear.

I would also advise you not equate this . . . the forum and the game we are talking about . . . to something like cancer/HIV. That cheapens what those people are going through and it isn’t fair to them.

I am not using that loop to suggest “you can only not fly with your bare arms if you haven’t tried hard enough”. Some things are, in fact, physically impossible. Social problems are not in that category, they can be fought against.

And not being accepted for a PUG over not having good enough gear? That’s not a problem revolving around the gear, it revolves around the people. It’s the same as “LF2M, no rangers”. Or, if you prefer: “LF1M, must speak English”, “Underworld, LF1M, pay 1 plat for admission”, “Recruiting for [Guild], must be L80, 18+, and have Vent.”

Don’t care what you tell your mother. My analogy does not degrade. What does physically impossible have to do with any topic? The fumes on this thread is not social problems. If your having trouble of getting in a PuG because of lack of gear, then why are you defending the new gear and leveling seeking? Is English the problem? The GW1 Underworld comment you just made is the reason people are fuming. Are you not level 80, over 18, and have Vent? <- Does last sentence even matter? No.

What matters is
-Gated Communities
-Tier Gear
-LFG/M Fotm lvl ‘x’ has replaced LF Tank/Healer
-More Grind
-Againts Anet’s Mission Statement, no matter how small
-etc…

I’ll preface this with I don’t like gear grinds either. Someone probably has already brought this up but how is something you don’t need a grind? You don’t have to do it. You only need ascended gear to do the one optional dungeon at higher than base difficulty. So you are not locked out of doing any game content. In fact you don’t even need it to have the dungeon be harder. It is only there for those players who “NEED” to have some reward given to them by the game for doing something more than once that they feel is better than they had before.

It is no better than any gear already in the game when used outside of the harder modes versions of this dungeon’s mechanic. Heck even exotic gear is not required and by no means offers any significant advantage over rare. It’s not even 15% better like how customizing your weapon in GW1 and that was not seen as an advantage over those who chose not to customize their weapons. There are far too many variable associated with combat mechanics for it to be. If both you and the opposition stood in place and did fixed damage to each other and one side did X% more than the other then yes it would be an advantage. But again ascended gear does not grant X% more over the current top gear in the game. And as such there is no gear grind just as there is no gear grind in the game up to this point.

Exotics and related gear are meant to be something you earn for long term sticking with the game. You simply go about playing the content you enjoy doing and eventually you get what is needed to make it. Only those who enjoy making getting the gear their sole goal for playing should dedicate their time to getting it that way. For everyone else just enjoy the game the way you like to play it and get the gear when, as a result of dong what you like to do, finally happen to get what you need for the gear. Things only become a grind when you are doing something you don’t like to do so why do something you don’t like to do when you can get the same thing by doing something you like to do. Do you (generic you) really have to have everything fast? If so then even casual MMOs might not be the kind of game for you.

Under the Anet philosophy in GW1, I gained max stat gear once I hit maximum level, which is 20. Six years later, I am still wearing that same gear from when I first hit level 20 and enjoying all the new content. GW2 is different than GW1 but the Anet philosophy is/was the same. I hit max level in GW2 and obtain many different gears to change my play style a look. None of the gears offer better stats than the others. Three months later in GW2, my gear is not top stats.

Now if a few stats do not matter in PvE and I can keep all my old gear to continue to run dungeons, then I guess gear would not matter. But it will matter with new content (infusion). No matter what the change in stat is, no matter how watered down the flavor is, the same philosophy that I bought when I paid money to GW2 was that of the Mission statement and of GW1; otherwise if I wanted to keep obtaining gear, I would have re-opened my WoW account.

The only reason people play high-end PvE is grind, …

Stopped reading there. This might be the case for you and the other gear locusts out there that ruin every MMO but the good old GW1 community doesn’t need a grind to play the game. GW1 was/is played because it’s fun, not because there’s a grind.

I think its pretty obvious that they wanted to appeal to MORE than just the GW1 fans, a game only for GW1 fans isnt enough. If you want a solution, you need to appeal to more..this game is more expensive than GW1, they are hiring people left and right to try and keep up with their demand at the moment. So they have to appeal to many player types, not just one.

The whole Anet statement about GW2 not being GW1; GW2 is
-Action MMO
-Discarded the Trinity
-No more LFG
-Action MMO
-Dynamic Events
-Persistent World
-Action MMO

The Philosophy that transmuted from GW1 to GW2, and in the Anet Mission statement:
-Not a Grind
-Balanced play (seen via sPvP)
-Not a Grind
-Based around the Player
-Not a Grind

-6.5 Million copies of GW1 Sold, including all expansions.
-GW2 has 2 Million Copies sold under the original GW2 mission statement. Besides WoW, who has that beat?

“Again, I disagree about “does it matter?” because I honestly don’t think it will make a difference. Legendaries didn’t make a difference, for all that they were highly grind-y. They’re there, you need to invest time and effort to get them, but in the end I’m not seeing a big compelling reason to chase them other than “because it’s there”.”

And why would a player chase a Legendary if its just a skin upgrade? But the context was that for those who wanted the cool skin, the system to obtain a legendary was… pish-posh. Now if a Legendary gave +stats, then the whole idea behind it changes. What if content in the game was blocked to those who do not wield a Legendary? The fact is, many people will not care about a Legendary because it does not affect their play in any sense. If it does affect a player, no matter how small, then it becomes an issue.

I’m sorry but I did not read your life story. I played GW1 from day one until my final deployment to Afghanistan in 2010. I stopped playing GW1 and tried WoW then went back to GW1. I stopped playing GW1 other times as well to either, enjoy real life or other non-mmo games. Either case, from the start, I always came back to GW1. I promise, that if Anet continues in the direction they are going, when I leave GW2, I wont come back unless they, at Anet, revert back to their Mission Statement. I did not go back to WoW, I went back to GW1 and now GW2.

“Has ArenaNet put something in the game which is against their manifesto? Are
Ascended items something they promised they wouldn’t do?”

First question yes, and it started with Legendary Weapons, hence so much animosity. Next question, I do not know. But I do know it was not GW1 and its not what I payed $80 for the game and another $50 on gems.

“Same answer to both situations. I don’t think it matters, but I can’t say for certain. I am neither clairvoyant nor am I capable of peering into alternate realities.”

It does matter, otherwise the forums would be flooded with, “fix your bugs” and “your dungeons are still too hard” instead of, “WoWzerz Bowzerz Anet, OMG for real?”

I don’t think it’s “you people”. I think it’s a small knot of very disgruntled fans. This is the same kind of mentality as fans who will throw stuff on the field of a ball game when their team is losing . . . causing the game to be ended prematurely and with no chance to recover.

Those fans you are referring too are the fans who have either played GW1 and know the philosophy, or the fans who have accepted the GW1/2 Mission statement.

Um… wrong? GW2 Mission Statement was anti-grind. Maybe you should go and research the complaints about Legendary Weapons. GW2 fans do not want grind.

“…the second option is to give you a purpose to repeat the content you already have. and so you have ascended gear you can “grind” for.”

-This does not make the same content more fun. It just makes the same content even more repulsive.
-Next, Anet did not update, or has not yet, the older content. Anet has only added new content which has:
—Implemented Gated Communities
—Created a Ghost World
—Created, LF(Certain)M
—Increase grind instead of the game being Achievement base.

Proof this is against the original mission statement: I can explore Twilight Arbor, a level 35 dungeon, and still achieve same stat gear as running a level 80 dungeon. I cannot run a level 80 dungeon and gain same state gear offered in a ‘player’ level one dungeon. Gears achieved from all ‘older’ dungeons are obtained by only completing said dungeons. Gear from new dungeon requires the grind that players do not want.

I cant believe you people are hoping that Anet will fail…if Anet fails this close to the game’s creation and seemingly doesnt know what their customer base is..why do you think their publisher would give them more money? What you are hoping for is that alot of people will be out of jobs very soon..and that’s pretty sad just because you want Gw1.5

I agree mostly with your statement except: GW1.5

I don’t want GW1.5 I want GW2.0 pre-apocalyptic patch.

I might be sold under the definition, Consortiums: : an agreement, combination, or group (as of companies) formed to undertake an enterprise beyond the resources of any one member.

No matter how true this might be, unfortunately there is only a GW2 forums and not a Nexon forums; thus, Anet will recive all the flak.

The Goal of this thread is about the Grind.

And my . . . belief, position, what-have-you . . . is that the grind is a self-inflicted pursuit rather than a forced choice. And that the “vast statistical advantage” resulting from the grind is not entirely accurate.

Like I said in another post, If I pass gas and get a couple of droppings in my pants, it is no different than taking a full fledge dump in my pants; I still pooped all over myself. It does not matter if Anet drops a few stats on us because it is no different than getting fully dumped on.

And I agree, WoW is a gear treadmill pursuit as other games are non-stop grind pursuits. That’s why I don’t play them and I play GW2.

“Well who’s to say they have deviated? Why can’t ascendant be the new exotic?”

I can ask, why can’t Exotic gear stay the top tier gear?

In another posting of yours, you state that anti-agony is not needed or relative in level 20 FOTM. This implies that even level 20 FOTM is easy. Now you argue that Arah and CoE are a joke and too easy. You also argue that a player should be rewarded for skill vs. time invested. If FOTM is implied easy… then why should a player be rewarded with new gear with better stats according to your own standards? I ask this because you Argue that Ascended gear is a reward for skill vs. time invested.

Nah I’m here because people are blowing out how much stronger Ascendant Gear is vs Exotics. Everything else was purely cuz I am bored and wanted to see where you’d go with it.

And yeah FotM is fairly easy cept once you get past around lvl 16. Then 1 hit = death and with a group with no agony…. let’s just say getting perfect runs on bosses 3 times in a row without breaking our armor is rather hard. Is it hard mechanically? Not really. Is it artificially harder? Yeah and that’s kinda dumb.

And there’s nothing wrong with rewarding someone who’s skilled vs someone who isn’t.

While I am personally am against Time Grinds, I can see the necessity (They gotta get you to play somehow) And plus I’ve gotten good at it over the many years I played multiple MMOs.

I have played many MMOs myself but Guild Wars 2 was the one I choose. I have chosen GW2 because I loved the GW1 Model and I was dead set that the same philosophy would carry to GW2. And it did, for three months. I love the new dungeon for the content and the new skill it has to offer. I detest the Ascended gear, grind, and gated community. I am here to picket Anet like the rest. This is in hopes that Anet will continue its former philosophy. If not, then I will move on, simple as that.

How many people do you see spamming, LFG Arah? Arah was the first panicle for skill achievement. The reward is something few have, Arah gear.

To further this statement vs. new Grind gear. Grind is, of course, relative. However, about 23 runs In Arah will get you your full Arah set. Assuming a casual player did one Arah run a day, that’s under a Month a player can have an Arah which can showcase player and team skill.

How many months will it take a person to obtain all the ecto for Ascended gear? Last time I checked, it takes no skill to obtain ecto.

The Goal of this thread is about the Grind.

-Anet started a gated community
-LFG/M LvL ‘x’ has replaced LF Tank/Healer
-Grinding is needed even more in a game that has implemented anti-grinding

Some notes:
- It’s not 2% Critical Chance, it’s 2% Critical Damage . . . mild difference but given my criticals are around 2500-3000 from my current bow, it doesn’t seem that big a gain.
- +11 Power, dunno what that translates to in raw damage . . .
- -13 Precision, meaning LESS chance of a critical; note that I’ve heard from some stat crunchers that Precision’s affect on Critical Chance diminishes after a point.
- +18 Vitality, which is +180 Health. Nothing much to say here, I’m good . . .

But comparing the two, while there’s definitely a small step up there is definitely a different arrangement of stats. Let’s see another one . . .

I already edit my post before your response. Remember that is only one ring. Assuming all accessory slots had same stats: that’s +55 Power, + 65 Precesion, + 10% to Critical Damage, and +900 health. Ascended gear already has one more stat over Exotic.

Right, apologies.

Interesting question. Does this ring have “Unique” on it? (checks) Yes, it seems so. You can’t use two of the same ring.

Aye did not see that. I guess you can just use a different “Unique” ring with a different name to still get better stats than exotics. The argument however is not the stats. The argument is the concept of Anet vs. Grind. Like I said, if it is even +0.000001% increase in any stat, it’s against Anet’s mission statement.

Why can’t they be obtained via WvWvW from day one?

A bigger problem is: Why can a person doing a level 35 dungeon obtain the same stat gear as from a level 80 dungeon, yet a person cannot get Ascended gear in a level 80 dungeon but can in a ‘player’ level one dungeon?

While I highly doubt any new lvl 35 can get the resources it takes to even craft Pink Gear, would it be wrong to say that Fractals rewards Skill vs Time Invested?

What’s wrong with rewarding skill as opposed to time invested in the game?

That is what the Legendary Weapons were suppose to do. But the Legendary Model failed, and this is the horrible fix Anet is imposing.

Correction: Legendary is time invested.
Dungeon sets (skins) are skill.

It’s not actually the ‘grind’ most people disagree with.
It is the grind to advance instead of a grind ‘at your own leisure’. It’s why people mention vertical and horizontal progression. Need gear to get gear versus get gear to get other (often cosmetic) stuff.

There were people who complained about Legendaries being difficult to get; but they weren’t many. There were people complaining about WvW badge drop rate; but they weren’t many.
I’ve seen nobody complain about the grind to acquire titles from the achievement list.

It’s not the grind per se. It’s the enforced grind and what it represents and how many people have experienced it affecting other games most seem to object to.
And it’s the going back on words by ANet. The change in design philosophy.

It’s just easier to write ‘grind’ than a long explanation and most people seem to understand the difference …. except when wanting to cause argument.

Maybe your looking at it wrong? Achievements is more like reading a good book with a conclusion. Then you find out there is a sequel to the book. I look at the Achievements and figure out where to ponder in Tyria to complete my goals. Some are more repetitive, but its mostly from playing the game in a ‘normal’ sense.

Grinding is me purposely doing the same action over and over again. It’s more like me reading the back cover of a book over and over again. I did not really enjoy the book nor will I care about a sequel.

The difference is that I earn achievements by playing all contents of the game. I grind for a legendary in a specific location. I could have a legendary with 500 achievement points and not have a legendary at 15,000 achievement points.

If we hate dungeons, being forced to do them to remain competitive is a grind. sorry.

What? I started dungeons with rare gear. My first exotic dungeon set was from TA. Then with mats I had and some bought, I had my friend CRAFT me an exotic set. All other sets of armor from dungeons is my reward for grouping with friends to master the mechanics of each dungeon.

If you spent 10mins with me on Ventrilo during a dungeon run, you will know that I hate skipping content that is considered hard by the GW2 community. Of lately, I have pugged a few CoF and insisted that we defend Mag the legit way.

Most importantly is that you do not have to run dungeons to remain competitive. There is many ways to obtain exotic gear, and you don’t even have to step foot in a dungeon if you want a Legendary.

Lol, did you miss the detail that ascended gear is 20-50% better than exotic? Besides, I have zero interest in mastering the mechanics of any dungeon, lol. Why force me to do so?

For something that gives about 8 more Power/Precision, I find it hard to believe it will be 20-50% better than exotics. And by your math, that’d mean Exotics are close to 200% times better than Rares

They said they will add more.

Reset the stats and put the infusions on all exotics. Collecting Exotic and upgrading them provides much more endgame and doesn’t limit endgame to one location.

They said they will add more Ascendant Gear, not more stats.

The stat increase over exotics outside endless dungeons needs to go. It will destroy the game.

How is the stat increase any different from the stat increase from Rare > Exotics? If anything the difference between Rares and Exotics is a bigger problem than Exotics and Pinks.

And I’m pretty sure they announced they would release ways to acquire Pinks outside of FotM. Oh and btw, you actually craft the Pinks via Mystic Forge. And you get most of the mats outside the endless dungeon anyways so no worries there^^

The only thing you get from the dungeon is Vials and I’ve gotten like 5 vials going from lvl 1 to 6 the first day.

The Difference is: can you obtain Ascended gear from previous established dungeons?

And technically you can since a majority of the drops don’t even come from the Fractal itself. And let’s face it, Explorer Mode is faceroll easy. I can prolly beat Giganticus solo.

Well if they had released Fractals on day 1, would it have changed your view on Pink?

It does not matter if its majority or one single drop. If can’t run a level 35 dungeon and gain the same stats from a new dungeon, then Anet has deviated from their mission statement, simple.

The mission statement was all over the game when I can obtain as good of gear from level 35 TA instead of Arah. Arah was not based around gear, but being a good dungeoner.

Though I have no ascended gear myself I do not know if source is accurate. However, if those are the stats… do you know what even a +2% Critical Chance on one item means? That’s huge!

i love the ascended gear, it was greatly needed. something to work towards without giving too much advantage.

Advantage against who? Other players in WvW? Other mobs/bosses in other dungeons?

Can you take full exotics from Arah and run lvl 20 FOTM? Even playing field?

Agony as a mechanic during boss fight is simply tacked onto most large scale AoE attacks/projectiles as it is. So if you avoid the circles and dodge the balls of fun coming you’re way, you will more or less be able to clear the content without Ascendant Gear.

Aye, thank you for answering. So from your experience, why does one need ascended gear then? Why do we need +stats and anti-agony?

“The fact is that for all the complaining about best in slot, required tier gear, etc. the only “treadmill” that ascended items bring to the game is increasing difficulty level of the fractals eventually requiring ascended-only agony related stats. Past that, guess what? You can still kill people win WvW wearing exotics. You can still do full on explorable runs wearing exotics.”

Can a player in full exotic Arah gear run level 20 Factals? If not then how is Ascended gear not tiered to enjoy game content?

Please make your voice heard. flood all online buying sites with comments and reviews. If you don’t like this patch, say so. If they don’t sell anything over the holidays, someone will get fired and the direction will change.

Nice logic, lol.

Shame on you for wishing for someone to loose their job in this economy because of your personal “entitlement”.

Not that I’m condoning what he said, not at all, but imagine GW2 going to path of so many other MMOs and ultimately failing. How many people will be without jobs then?

I’m a hardcore gamer. I do know that once GW2 fails I will probable get a job. Psh….

I like many other players who are fuming in the forums, and friends on Ventrilo, do not want to quit the game. We want Anet to fix the current issues. We want Anet to uphold the ToS, their Terms of Speaking; hence, the manifesto. There is already grind issues in the game, those are Legendary Weapons. This issue is still not fixed. To fix it, Anet added more grind, gated communities, LFM certain level (healer/tank alternate), and +stats (and/or infusion) to enjoy game content. The right model is that a person fully geared from a level 35 dungeon can enjoy the same content from a level 80 dungeon. The wrong model is when I can’t enjoy a ‘player’ level 1 dungeon in gear from a level 80 dungeon.

. . . yeah I didn’t go with those groups and seriously I wonder why anyone thinks they’re “in the right” to do that. I suggested four guildmates and I get together and take a stab. We had fun. If I didn’t want to stick my face in the burning which is the crap surrounding Fractals, I’d put together groups for it.

Also, those kinda “LFM” messages kinda always existed here. I’ve seen “LF#M ## Exp, no Rangers” at least once a day.

Psh, add me in GW2. If all this hype can cool down, we can test your might.

Why not add the gear as, ‘Ascended titled Armor’ with orange tittles?

There’s nothing they don’t know about

Oh the things we think we know
But honestly we really don’t
Save the worry, stop the hate
It doesn’t matter anyway

I agree that the community should stop the hate… erm more like complaining. Maybe expressing ourselves is just way over the top. Maybe GW2 fans should not spam the forums in an attempt to give Anet another chance. Maybe all of us complainers should just go ahead and ask for a refund and never look back at the game.

The wording isn’t even remotely vague except in the concept of more than one tier of gear progression between Ascended and Legendary. They are adding another tier of gear and revising an established tier. Ascended will be a new “bridge” between Exotic and Legendary. This bridge did not exist before and was created specifically so that they could introduce a new tier of gear.

Two new Ascended pieces were added in the patch (back piece and ring) and more will be added in the future at various dates until the full set is released along with new Legendary items as well. Legendary under it’s new property will always be equal to the top tier items available. This means you have created a full Tier of equipment for people to work on and extended a Cosmetic top tier.

The unfortunate thing is Anet hasn’t owned up to this and taken responsibility for the debacle. They have stated Ascended was created because people felt they didn’t have anything to work on and that Legendary items had been gained to quickly. If you didn’t want Legendary Items created so quickly, then you should not have made the majority of the items in it capable of being purchased with gold or traded.

I agree. They should have fixed the Legendary Issue instead of releasing new gear with +stats.

Actually, to get a Legendary you DO need to fully explore Tyria in order to obtain the Gift of Exploration. You also need a staggering amount of skill points, which necessitates going out and playing the game. Finally, you need a ton of Obsidian Shards, which are Account Bound and only obtainable via karma and, more recently, the Fractals dungeon. You can’t buy a Legendary through pure TP activities.

It took me 2 weeks from game start to get my character to level 80.

-Karma and Skill points are much more easy to come by via 24/7 Orr
-Pre-curser system is a joke.
-If your a TP master or a hardcore grinder, you will get you legendary well before any other Hard Core player. (I have completed 4 dungeon sets with many assorted dungeon weapons. It took me 3 months to do this, yet I was no where near the videos ‘congrats’ on a Legendary.)
-The video congratulated TP Master and Grinders.

You are right, so I take back my statement about not having to explore Tyria. I now say, enjoy Tyria and marvel in all its content. Its cool, I have 500 badges of honor, yet only 14 achievement points in World vs. World… what a joke to get a legendary. But what does it still all boil down too? Grind, Grind, and Grind.

Tell me that Orr Grinding, and now the new FOTM grind, is scouring all over Tyria to achieve a legendary weapon.

@Alberel Leonhart.9640

Have you not already seen all the complaints about the Legendary requirements? The track to obtain a Legendary is a complete grind fest, or Black Lion Stock Trader. To get a legendary you have to do nothing… NOTHING… of what the original intent was: To explore all of Tyria. And the item was to be a progression, like a visual title. The implementation of the Legendary was a failure. I almost quit the game after I saw a video only one month after game release. It was when game designer talked about how people was now close to, or already had, their legendary. What a joke that Black Lion Stock Traders did not have to explore Tyria.

did you miss the fact that before this patch, legendaries had the EXACT same stats as did exotics? Differences were purely cosmetic. The ANET pulled a shell game. they boosted legendaries, claimed there was a terrible gap, and used that as an excuse to insert ascended gear.

How did I miss the fact? I do not want stat increase. GW2 Legendary Weapons = GW1 Obsidian Armor. I don’t want Acended gear. I don’t want increased stats on Legendary Weapons. I want Anet to fix what is broke. I don’t mind waiting a few more months to gain the necessary materials to have my legendary, ex. ectos. I don’t want to spend another 6 months after that gaining the necessary materials to get ascended gear, only to be out geared every 3 months; no matter how small the stat increases are.
