Do you feel that the Warrior is more fun than the Guardian? Some have said that the Warrior gets extremely boring after a while. What do you think?
How is the difficulty of the Warrior compared to the difficulty of the Guardian?
In selecting the best profession, the difficulty of the profession must be taken into consideration and the elementalist is very difficult to play, for the same results as another and easier profession.
Since Arena Net nerfed Guardians and gave them the same amount of health as an elementalist, I think Warriors may just be much better…
They’ve had that health pool since beta, last I knew.
Actually they used to have a pretty high health pool, but Arena Net nerfed it just a short while after the launch of the game.
How does the range dps of the Guardian compare to that of the Warrior’s?
Don’t let warriors health pool fool you =\
No protection boon or aegis, and just barely enough condition removal to scream for.
Trust me the health pool looks nice, but it really is empty glass water unless you stack some toughness on that warrior.
I think you may make a good point that should be taken into consideration…the warrior’s defense isn’t all that great and their survivability is still on the low side regardless of the big health pool.

I am thinking of going with Guardian…I know they have excellent defense and survivability, but how is there dps?
I honestly can’t decide between the Guardian and Warrior…can the Guardian do good range dps? And how?
So, what is the true difference between a Guardian and a Warrior, like in the end which profession gets the job done better?
What are your opinions on Guardians?
Okay just to keep everybody from drifting off the main topic, the question is which profession is better overall? That means considering the defense, damage, mobility, and so on of the profession. So which is overall the best profession? Hmm?
The Engineer’s damage is not all that great, however. Ultimately, the two best professions are the Warrior and the Guardian- they both are the top two in damage and defense. The new problem is deciding which one is better- the Warrior, or the Guardian?
Hmmm…I agree with your opinion. Also I have noticed that Guardians are slightly overplayed and I do want a profession that isn’t played by 1 out of 3 people on my server. How are the warriors ranged abilities?
So it has been a long time since launch, and I can’t decide which profession I should stick with. I have tried a bunch out, the Guardian, Warrior, Ranger, Elementalist, and a few others and I just don’t know…So far I seem to like the Guardian and Warrior the most and can’t decide between them. Basically I want a profession that can deal out some super good damage, and also as excellent survivalibility. Oh yeah, and I want a profession that in very fun…please help me pick!
How are the Guardian’s ranged abilities?
‘Best’ is a hard one to zero in on. I have 5 different professions at 80. If I had to pick one for a fight I needed to win, it would be the Guardian. If I want to have a ton of fun, I play my Mesmer. When I get in touch with my inner kite, I turn to my ranger. All have strengths and weaknesses and all can be played at the top of the game. Some need a lot more love from Anet right now than others. But, overall, I don’t believe there is an overall best profession.
So, why would you choose a Guardian?
So, in your opinion, is the Guardian good at all for dps? Like, is their dps better than any other profession, and if so, which one(s)?
Can a Guardian do melee dps like a warrior can, or even better?
What would you desire more to have in your group: a Guardian or a Warrior?
How is the Guardian’s DPS?
How does the melee dps for the Warrior and Guardian compare/contrast.
That was a good point made about how Guardians do regenerate health while warriors really don’t. I think then what separates Guardians and Warriors the most is the fact that Warriors are actually pretty decent when it comes to range, and Guardians can’t really go range with their slow moving orbs that barely do any damage. What do you guys think really makes these two professions significantly different from each other?
The thing is that at endgame, warriors will have anywhere from 5,ooo-10,000 more health than a Guardian. I think this is kind of crazy, and makes the Warrior slightly better than the Guardian.
That is true the Warrior is superior to the Guardian when it comes to range. And if you think about it, the Warrior can do everything the Guardian can do…any maybe even better.
Okay so I have narrowed it down a bit, it seems that the two most powerful classes at the moment are the Guardian and the Warrior. Which one do you guys think is better? Why?
Okay the game has been out for a while and I am still trying to decide on what profession to make my main and play the heck out of. I have narrowed down to the Warrior and the Guardian, the two, in my opinion, most powerful professions in the game at the moment. Can you please help me decide on which one to play and why exactly?

The FOV still needs to be higher. Honestly just add an option for us to set our own FOV…

Arena Net, this is truly amazing. Your game is now on par with all the other great MMORPG’s, so please don’t change this now lol…

So far I think that it is wonderful, but I still think there should be a FOV slider so players can adjust it to their liking.
thank you arena net i love you again!

We’re in the middle of working on additional fixes for the FOV, we’ll have an update on this very shortly. We’ve been doing some very promising tests internally, will role out more info soon once we’re sure everything is working!
I understand that some of your people at Arena Net are stubborn, and want the FOV to stay as it is. Could you at least add an option for players to change the FOV as they desire? Honestly, you people think that if it looks fine to you it looks fine to everyone…
Guardian’s health has been reduced to the health of an elementalist. That is why I don’t like them.
Been playing a warrior, I think they are the best now lol xD
+1 for adding a FOV slider, or some way to configure this.
I play on a 30" monitor (I know, first world problems), which really exaggerates the tunnel-vision effect from the narrow FOV. I literally can’t play for more than an hour at a time without starting to feel dizzy/sick. I end up tabbing out and surfing the web throughout my play session to give my eyes a break. I have never, in nearly 20 years of playing countless 3D titles, ever had this happen to me in another game.
I’m all for you guys standing by your artistic vision, especially when you’ve obviously put so much effort into creating a beautiful world, but something’s got to give. I know I’m in the minority, but I’m guessing that making your customers physically ill wasn’t on the list of things you set out to accomplish with this otherwise fantastic game.
I play on a 30" monitor as well. I saved for a long time for that monitor and I refuse to scale down the game screen to get an acceptable FOV.
I resubscribed and logged on to Rift this morning and it was like being able to breath again when it comes to FOV/camera. I just don’t understand how a ‘state of the art’ new MMO doesn’t have the very basic mechanics that every other MMO I’ve played since the original Everquest used succesfully. Camera/FOV, non-movable UI frames, no graphic preview in trading post, etc. As much as it’s crippled, this game feels like a console port to PC.
Flexibility is the key to many things in life. When you lock things down and force people to adhere to “my way or the highway” mentality, many people will choose the highway.
You make an excellent point. Our expensive computer monitors are going to waste because of the horrible camerea/pov/fov/whatever in this game. I can’t even articulate the urgency of this matter.
I don’t know if Arena Net is working on this now, or they refuse to fix it and allow their game to cause people nausea, and make them stare at the floor…
Well, hopefully they can fix this soon
We should not have to “compromise” and go into windowed mode. The game’s camera should be calibrated correctly for fullscreen.
Agree. I purchased a large monitor for a reason.
EXACTLY! You make an excellent point there, because of the horrible camera our expensive computer peripherals are going to waste! Yet another reason Arena Net need to stop doing nothing and work on the camera.

This is something that hinders the enjoyment of the game and really needs to be addressed immediately.
Would the petty community managers please stop closing down all the “frivolous” threads and take a look at something important here in this thread?
I agree with Migo, I do feel some nausea while playing…and I never really noticed it until now. I guess Guild Wars 2 will die like other MMO’s if Arena Net does not fix this.
This horrible camera is, in my opinion, a good reason to leave Guild Wars 2 for good. The camera just ruins the game, why did Arena Net put all that work and effort into a super-awesome world if we can’t see it?
Maybe this is why they added vistas? :/
Really? So all we are suppose to do is stare at the floor while we play, then occasionally look up at the beautiful world that Arena Net put years into making?

I wish an Arena Net community manager would see this…this is all we need from Guild Wars 2 being the perfect MMO…
This is not and issue I am going to just “live with” because this ruins the game. Tyria is such a beautiful world, I’m not even kidding it looks great. Tyria is more pretty than Earth. Arena Net did this super awesome job making a great game and a even better world, WE CAN’T SEE IT! This is not an issue to live with, this issue is way too big!
I wish Arena Net would at least give players like us that don’t want to spend our gaming experience staring at the floor, the option to change out FOV or POV or whatever…
Do you guys think this is something Arena Net would actually ever fix?…
I mean, the world of Tyria is amazingly beautiful. Whenever I want to get a good look at it, half of my screen is on my characters back…if Arena Net fixed this I can’t even imagine how epic Guild Wars 2 would be. I mean playing AND seeing the beautiful world at the same time? That would be an excelsior experience in my opinion.
