Out of all the DoT(damage over time) condition, i find burning really lackluster. We can see this by comparing the other DoT machanic.
Poison: deals dmg every sec and reduce healing by 33%, stack in duration.
Bleeding: deals dmg every sec which stack in intensity up to 25 times and each stack does
one pulse of damage per second(which makes it the best condition for killing a
player with the help of poison which reduce their healing.)
Confusion: I think this can be classified as an unique DoT. It stack in intensity and deal
dmg whenever an opponent uses a skill.
While burning only deal dmg over time and stack in duration, and poison does the same except it add reduce healing for extra flavor. I wish A-net could maybe make burning similar to how burning work in reality.
My take:
Burning now have 3 intensity and applies unique burning charges on the target with a considerable duration on it, instead of only increase/stacking in duration.
Stage 1(charges 1-9): deals dmg every 2 sec and dmg strength increases with charges.
Stage 2(10-23): deal dmg every 1 sec and dmg strength increases with charges.
Stage 3(24-25): deal dmg every1 sec and dmg strength increases with charges and now applies another debuff that can’t be remove that burn the target for the same dmg over a short duration and is reapplied again if the stack of burning charges is not removed.
This will make burning a bit more unique to play with and have in the game. What are your view, pls post below.

then the guild UI and tooltip really need fixing, this is one of the feature that need to be implemented on all their large currency transaction.If not it will continue to screw up new players and even long time players over, it can help improve the quality of life if they could learn some of the great stuff from other games that could improve the quality of life for the players.

But i haven’t actually finished the product why should my influence be taken and not refunded.
I click an upgrade and accidentally click speed up but then i remove it from the queue but it didn’t refund me my influence back for the speed up that i cancel. Is there a way to retrieve those influence becuz 75k is a lot and the stupid speed up button shouldn’t be at such an obvious place.

As the izerker prepare for a second spin on the boss, i realize that the izerker spin does not connect, the izerker barely touch the boss, only 1 spin connect on it’s second spin( and on every even numbered attack made later on). why compare with the worst, then u cannot excel. compare with thing that are good.
which was then said by jon*( if not wrong) that the delay before Dec 3rd was fine.
Before the Dec 3rd patch, iwarden and zerker were both having a delay of less than 0.25 sec, which is seen as the illusion show up on your screen(rendered) they start taking. Now they take almost a sec, which by then if your using a zerker while kiting the mobs the target may have walk in circle or move so far away that the zerker only land 1-2 hits.
i agree Anet have a lot to fix, just putting forth my view and hope it get heard.
As of Dec 3rd patch, mesmer’s phantasm got broken, which makes all phantasm takes 2 sec to attack after being summon. This was partially fix but now, it gives most of mesmer’s Phantasm a 0.75-1sec delay, which if include the mesmer’s own cast animation of 1-2 sec it give our opponent lot of time to react (effortlessly). Now quite a number of our phantasm are useless when their needed. Example: Phantasmal Berzerker (GS #4) now can’t even catch a walking target thats running in circle, or our I.Warden get 1 shotted before it can start it whirling blade in a aoe or zerg situation. This are what is experience only in pve, which will be worst in pvp as competitive players got around 2-3 sec to react to our phantasm. They can practically null our phantasm summon or attack with this long window.
I hope either mesmer’s cast animation or as i would prefer have it phantasm delay reduce back to 0.25~approx. This would help a lot.

Let me boil this down to what you really want to say.
It chaps your backside that people have a legendary and they should have to start over getting them because you don’t have one and don’t want anyone else to have one.

Have you noticed how people have been complaining about a Gear Treadmill that ANet said they wanted to Avoid? Ascended gear is a new tier of gear that is suposed to be between Exotic and Ledgendary. Ledgendary gear has always been intended to be the highest end gear in the game. Currently only Ledgendary weapons are available but eventualy they plan to implement other Ledgendary equipment pieces.
If they didn’t buff up the stats on Ledgendary Weapons with the addition of Ascended gear, then the Ledgendary Weapon’s wouldn’t be the best, and as I just stated, Ledgendary gear is suposed to be the best.
The Ledgendary weapons arn’t so much being Auto Leveled as they are recieveing a buff to make them better then the new tier that is suposed to be weaker then them.
There are really two different problems here. Obtaining a legendary weapon legitimately is such an enormous amount of work that it really needs to be “best-in-slot”. To invalidate the efforts in acquiring one would be a serious mistake. And, up until now they have been optional because there are other ways of getting equipment that is equally as powerful, although perhaps not as unique looking.
However, if you go that route and then continue to insert new tiers of equipment, and then keep buffing legendary weapons so they remain best-in-slot, what the developers are essentially doing is moving legendary equipment further from optional and closer to mandatory. Because, now owning legendary equipment is your only way of making yourself immune to power-creep.
Now, owning a legendary weapon may not have been a priority for all us, but not having to deal with power-creep is one of the main reasons many of us dove into GW2. The fact that we now have to own a legendary weapon to combat the change in design philosophy is stupidly discouraging.

yeah and u still have ur legendary. It what anet boasted show off your effort and skill (+90% luck) to get your legendary. But now you don’t have to upgrade your weapon each new tier but everyone else that doesn’t have it need to have they will also have to spend that time and effort getting their legendary.
I say this over and over and over again until you guys get it. If your argument is that magic find doesn’t contribute to the group then that’s a slippery slope to gear discrimination hell. What about the newly level 80 who might be in a mix of blues and greens? Many level 80s think rares are a waste of money and so will wear greens until the can get dungeon exotics. And what about rares? Maybe person X can’t afford exotics and so are wearing rares. Where do you stop the descrimination if your argument against magic find is “group efficiency”? Because surely blues and greens also detract from group efficiency, as does rares.
Also, what about food? If you eat something, even level 5 stuff, you are that much more effective then if you eat nothing! If everybody in the group has a food buff and player X doesn’t, isn’t player X bringing down the group efficiency? This is an absurd argument! I am almost in favour of “work meters” that factor in damage, healing, res and other things just so we have concrete proof that magic find matters little.
But honestly, if magic find matters so much to you. Just say “no explorer/magic find gear”. That way, everybody who wears magic find can group together and that’ll be that!
I take lot of new lvl 80 from my guild to dungeon and i don’t mind them having lousy gears, everyone was at that stage before. For MF it’s different, now u have to invest into another gear for better loot and you do not dare change it out because of the fear of getting worst loot than your other geared members. This then tend too cause unwanted wipes in new content as everyone is not at their full potential and pugs where you were thinking that every1 could pull their weight as they are geared and experience but not always be the case as some bad players get carried using mf gear that never seem to learn the fights.

Whatever u been saying is to prove that you can get the job done, i can too. So stop posting irrelevant stuff, you like condition build, i like my phantasm build in pve. Why should my build get nerf and why should mesmer already weak pve performance in term of dps( you can see that by just taking on a mobs in the world), all other class kill faster than a mesmer. burning =.=, suddenly a condition mesmer. In pve of u understand burning only happen on staff, ur dps is mediocre on staff without warlock and bleeding does not stack high on warlock only duelist. So make ur choice , which is which don’t add something that won’t happen together. Still you depend on your phantasm to deal consistent dmg from range in certain fights in pve. If your telling to learn to use glamour skill to do well in pve, i telling you i am the wrong person to tell that too.. I have been leading my guild into dungeon once i am at their appropriate lvl and have completed all the DEs i been doing. I am swapping utilities as i progress into the dungeon, swaping them out each encounted i been doing but my dps which relies on the phantasm dealing part of it is lacking. So i do not know what a defensive mesmer can do in pve to clear a DE or farming in the world.
Are you implying how to defend a node or are u talking about spvp or are u building a bunker type mesmer. Dunno what you mean here.

Defensive build played properly. Always sayin since BWE 1 that mesmer is a beast when it come at defending. Look at the traits, really closely and see how much tools are in fact super effective when played in a defensive way.
You want to bring absolutely every condition on someone and force him to use everything. You want to maintain truelly high stack of confusion just after that and still totally negatin ranged dps to play.
You want these glamour aoe to be exploited at their full potential by usin a strict timing on knockback done by someone, your glamour up, and another team mate usin right away projectiles that have more than 20% chance to trigger a cross combo finisher.
So, again. You thought phantasms were the deal ?

what defensive build are u referring to? and as i say not much different from a shatter and phantasm, which shatter deal more on shatter with more control and phantasm on per phantasm hit. Since the cd is now longer, we will have less phantasm dmg hit in a fight. (Note: If your reffering to noob leaving phantasm up i don’t know what to say but its always good to prepare to shatter after the 1st hit as not to waste your phantasm.) Wherekittenter build will leave their phantasm up indefinitely till a shatter or death.

@Braxxus: any good mesmer noe that staff is the way to go in spvp, gs offer good range nuking but that don’t always happen in spvp. staff #2 is too much to give up on to bait certain set up by your opponent. Pistol is more a shatter build weapon, #5 can help you get a successful shatter, while phantasm build don’t have much uses for it except interrupt and some misc stuff. sword on the other hand over so much more, swordman survive better in fights than a stationary duelist and deal more frontal load dmg than a duelist. It also offer another survivability with sword #4 and which deals good dmg on block or an interrupt if no1 hit it. Its also give mesmer another clone, which like i said most good phantasm user will only hope than your phantasm last 1 strike and then it now for shatter, with sword #3, #4 clone and iswordman you then go in for a shatter.

Because necro pets are so utterly broken and sad that there’s no need to nerf them, the necro is kittening himself already by having them.
same for mesmer, so why aren’t we getting the same treatment as necro by fixing their bugs before the nerf hammer.
but i guess, Phantasm build is bad cause they force your opponent to chose between an AI and player instead of shatter build player and dodge shatter(suicide AI)

If you seen a mesmer summon more than 1 phantasm at a time, i would count that opponent as a noob, in a sword/sword and staff most mesmer uses , iswordman and iwarlock up, swordsman is in range to be killed, warlock deal mediocre dmg when there no condition. So the situation is that you kill the swordman( that will not have the signet hp buff) and all you are left is a single warlock which shoot so freaking slow. next is to cleave that warlock with the mesmer, which will force him to phase retreat and summon a clone which you most likely cleave with the warlock. Which all of these most likely won’t happen in normal fight, where most mesmer will use a phantasm, summon some clones and shatter instead on losing so much precious dps hoping that your phantasm can last the next atk.

@offence: sry it’s classify as a pvp game, yes becuz the str of the game they promoted is pvp, but regardless it is a mmo. They also stated that they do not want separate skill effect for pvp and pve means they need to get their act right and have them both balance before rolling them out and not a knee-jerk nerf that they say their refraining from having it.

You just have to understand that It is incredibly frustrating that bad players pick an easy 1 v 1 class where they are able to just mass produce clones that do the damage for them!! This is not a fair mechanic and pisses off your average player. Hence, the sentiment on here of….just learn to play. I agree this tactic wouldn’t work on a good player.

He isn’t really disagreeing with you, I think he is trying to point out that you can still do well on a Mesmer with little effort…something that is impossible with other classes. Thats not to say the class isn’t hard..it’s just easy to do well with for a bad player…but maybe hard to master.
Its not really becuz of the phantasm i pointed out in my other post and it not nice that he like his build and start placing other build down. What make mesmer so easy for noob to utilize is because of the survivability that a mesmer have with its screen clutter and counters. I am also surprise that you say noob use phantasm build more than shatter build, which is quite hard to differentiate for the masses which can’t even tell apart which is the real 1. Shatter build is more reliable and your phantasm still hit hard and shatter scale too well with the glass cannon stats most mesmer uses that is power,pricision, crit dmg. Thus, i dont think the noob are using phantasm build as it require more positioning and timing than shatter to fully utilize it.

Mesmers are full or counters, which work really well 1v1 which make them so powerful. Phantasm feel op because now you have to figure out what the mesmer gonna do to prevent you from doing ur standard macro.

Phantasm builds didn’t really do anything to make people “figure out” anything tbh. Phantasm is pretty simple to figure out for most people:
Dude summons alot of crap to hide himself
Dude’s AI minions do some burst
Need to drop heavy AOE on Dude AND AI petsI mean, when you’re talking about “vs noobs” a phantasm build was all about “summon my kitten, then hide until I need to resummon again. collect free kills” in SPvP matches. Hell I used it as my lulz spec for when I was just goofing off glory farming in SPvP cause it let you watch tv or do something else while still “winning fights”.

Dudes roll and use the same counters that phantasm build uses and summoning more illusion while phantasm deal dmg
Dudes see an opening, check, ok all 3 illusion are up
Dudes hop in and sword#3 then #2 , while opponent are distracted to move out of sword #2 , hordes of illusion running in for a shatter + a shatter from the mesmer himself.
Its very similar, just where does your frontal load of dmg comes from, phantasm from the phantasm and shatter from shattering illusion.
@Braxxus: Every1 is entitled to their opinion, but mesmer shatter build is still an AI pet players just in a different manner. We aren’t like those traditional pet players that afk and have their pets running around killing whatever in aggro range. We are most like a tactician, planning our pieces in the battlefield and commanding them to do what their suppose to do. Phantasm is like a defensive build, players fighting them will be put up against lets say a castle under siege, mesmer the castle, which is highly fortified by counters and our phantasm = our cannon which continuously bombard the attacking force and that them out. For shatter build is like a assault team, you set your pieces in places rdy for an assault and at the right moment where there an opening you command your squad or team to take them out. Its different play style, still same base mechanic, so i still consider shatter an AI build too.
Mesmers are full or counters, which work really well 1v1 which make them so powerful. Phantasm feel op because now you have to figure out what the mesmer gonna do to prevent you from doing ur standard macro. I usually will command that most players on the forum does not know what a mesmers is that why they lose. The way to beat a mesmer is to think like that and what their gonna do and counter their counter, which usually end up in a long drawn out fight among elitetist and utterly devastating fight against the noobs.
