Lord Titan,
What is your take on the frontline shout WvW zerger (not “zerker”)?
Thanks!
Frontline shout warriors that run either a balanced valk/cavaliers or knight/cavaliers are by far the best option for running with your guild in zergs.
1) What build and setup would you use to solo a camp? Upgraded camp?
2) As a roamer what setup/build to counter HGH Engineer?
1) Upgraded camps cause heavy problems for warriors primarily due to the excessive blind. Your best bet is to pull the mobs or LoS them so they all stack, allowing you to cleave them all at once. Build wise I’d suggest something balanced with either a mix of zerker/knights or knights/cavaliers.
2) I’ve found that a balanced GS/Hammer setup with mobile streaks can pressure HGH Engis enough to keep them on the defensive and burst them with chain CCs.
Lord! Please give me the most effective build for small scale roaming (2 – 5 guys)!
Regards
If you could give me the weapons your most interested in using I can help you out more effectively.
What would you pick as a build if you didnt run with your guild group but instead being an allrounder doing some soloing, small scale roaming, but aswell run with big pug zergs from time to time or defend stuff, escort dolyaks.. just everything?
What are your thoughts on Zerker GS / LB in WvW? How would you build?
Roaming wise zerker is a very strong option. But don’t expect to do well against organized groups that know to burst you first. GS/LB is strong but I feel that GS/Hammer overshadows it.
I dont do alot of wvw with my warrior, mainly tpvp, but i would like to understand how to get a lot of crit dmg (something like 90%), and still have good toughness, power and precision.
The best way to achieve this is Knight’s Armor + Cavalier’s Trinkets. This will give you the most balanced spread between toughness, prec, crit dmg.
nothing will solve the problem of zerging until ANet will modifiy how rewards are given.
more rewards to small team fight = problem solved.
Not related to this thread. Please stay on-track.
Most WvW advice that is build related is separate from tPvP due to the vast gear difference.
Although feel free to ask and I will do my best.
Also a Arena style format which allows for 20 man groups, in no way solves the problem of zerging simply due the “Death-match” mechanic of it. Where as a competitive WvW format requires more tactics and the splitting of forces to accomplish multiple goals.
Say a 20 man guild would like to test their skill against another 20 man in a WvW situation. How can they do that if every borderland has 80 other people running around?
This would provide a more organized situation. Where as “Arenas” is only a death-match, which is not what I’m talking about.
But how does that contribute to guilds that would like to be more competitive and proving their prowess in WvW Daendure?
Hey everyone Titan here,
If you don’t know me the let me quickly sum up who I am.
-Former head theory crafter for one of the top NA WvW Guilds(Fist of the Empire)
- 1,000+ hours played on Warrior
I have always dreaded looking at the warrior section of the forums due the amount of builds thrown around that could be so much better with the right tweaks. I’m here to give out any and all builds asked for(WvW oriented that is).
Feel free to ask away and I will do my best to give you advice and builds regarding them.

Hi everyone,
Now before you start raging about how many GvG post there are please take the time to read my idea.
Although I understand the need for sPvP and organized structured teams there. I also see the need for organized/competitive way for guilds, whether they be 5-man or 60-man to face each other. Guilds, thus far in-game, have very little ways to test their mettle other than setting up staged death-matches in WvW. What I propose is a way to fix this while also allowing guilds to indulge in a way to be more competitive WvW oriented forces.
My Idea:
Two guilds challenge eachother via an in-game NPC. The amount of players allowed to join is selected( 5,10,15,20,25,30, ect.). Once all members of each guild hakitten the ready button, similar to sPvP tournaments, they are zoned to a private Borderland identical to a WvW borderland. One guild is designated as the “defender” and the other as the “assaulter”. The defending team starts with every location except for supply camps/mercenary camps already captured. The objective of the defending team is to hold their towers/keeps until the time limit is expired. Meanwhile the assaulting team must take every keep/tower before the time limits up.
Winning guilds could be given small rewards, also a ladder/guild ranking system could be implemented.
This would encourage guilds to practice more complicated WvW tactics/force splits as well as satisfying a portion of the WvW community both large and small scale.
I feel that if this was introduced temporarily as a “testing period” A-net would see a massive participation in it.
Please feel free to explain why or why not you think this would be a good addition to the game. Also I’d love to hear A-nets thoughts on this.

Hey everyone,
Before I start I’d like to state the problem with the previous version of orbs.
- Hackers were a serious problem due to how easy it was to obtain the orb and return it to their keep. Since the bonuses were given server wide once the orb was placed in a keep this made it completely open to hacks/glitches.
- Winning/higher population servers could easily obtain and hold all three orbs during a week, leading to them furthering their advantage over the lower population servers.
Now here are the advantages to the orb
- Provided a high value objective for servers to obtain/hold, thus giving zergs/guilds/teams something to due rather than “farm badges”.
- In certain cases, when a lower population tier obtained the orbs it would give them the slight edge they needed to push harder.
- Increased map activity and overall WvW population.
- Provides for more strategical play.
My new idea:
What I had in mind for orbs is far different than the previous setup, but in my opinion fixes many of its flaws.
New Orb:
- Players within 2,000 range gain 250% Health and 500 all-stats divided by the number of people within the 2,000 range.
- When held player has -15% move speed.
- Upon downed the orb is dropped, re-spawns in 30 seconds if not picked up.
- Location visible on map, but not above specific players head.
- Allies see a 2,000 range white ring(similar to the pulse given off of warriors banners) around from the holder.
- Enemies see a 2,000 range red ring around the holder( pulses every 3-5 seconds).
- When placed in a keep all players within the Lord rooms capture circle gain +10% health and +100 stats, regardless of numbers.( Cannot be taken from keep until the keep is captured by the opposing force).
Why I think this would be a good idea.
- Provides outnumbered troops a chance to fight superior numbers.
- Over populated servers are forced to split their troops in order to utilize the orb correctly.
- Provides a secondary objective and promotes more strategical play.
- No benefit from hackers.
Please feel free to give your opinion on why or why not this idea would benefit to WvW. Also would love to hear some feedback from the A-Net team on this.

Patch overview:
Arcing Shot: Bug Fix.
Fan of Fire: Minor buff/fix, won’t notice a difference.
Earthshaker: Bug fix/tooltip update.
Throw Boulder: Tooltip update (People use this?).
Call to Arms: Minor buff.
Dogged March: Possible pick up if you aren’t running condi./immob. cleanse. Further testing required to see if it stacks with food/runes. Regeneration seems very minimal.
Burst Mastery: Trait buff, could work very well for rifle warriors.
Desctruction of the Empowered: New trait, creates serious trait distribution problems in most builds. Damage bonus is spotty at best. Possibly not worth choosing over.
“Attack of Opportunity”(Arms:25).
Brutal Shot: Minor buff to rifle Warriors.
Endure Pain: Bug fix.
Leg Specialist: Bug fix/ large nerf to WvW tactics.
Signet of Fury: Minor buff to builds sch as Rifle Warrior.
Signet of Might: Skill rework, new active provides for more active rupt builds. Ex. Mace/Shield + GS and Hammer builds to hard counter blocks and set up Warrior’s burst. Causes difficult utility choices.
Dolyak Signet: Minor buff/skill still requires an updated active to pass Balanced Stance.
‘On my Mark’: Bug fix/nerf.
Frenzy: Major buff to various builds.

Simply put, the more skilled you are, the “glassier” you can go. Unless your in a guild that has specific builds rotated around specific cooldowns this is how it is. WvW in most cases of organized guilds hitting unorganized zergs, its all about shock and awe. Initiation is huge in zerg battles and in most cases decides the victor. In other cases Valkyrie/PVT gear is sometimes picked up in organized groups when large amounts of protection uptime are involved. This is because Vitality > Toughness when you have protection up.
Reset night 4/26 – enjoy.

Decent content. One thing I’ll note is the needed improvement on warrior gameplay. Your rotations could be vastly improved, your build needs some tweaking, and recognizing what enemy skills truly threaten you would help as well.
I disagree with your mindless zerg argument. Fights in T1 NA are quickly evolving into organized mobile groups of pre-setup parties syncing blast finishers and AoE stuns. Not sure how the lower tiers are but T1 definitely isn’t just mindless masses of people running headfirst into the fray.
Hello everyone.
Since release finding a steady WvW/PvX Guild has been my primary goal within Guild Wars 2. About two months ago I ran across a steady, active, and highly friendly guild, Lead by Commander Ethersin, on the server Darkhaven. Sadly I chose to leave the guild due to internal conflict with a member.
Further more a month ago I joined another guild on Tarnish Coast. Here I met some great people and made several long standing relationships. My friend and I are still in that same guild but are noticing a decline in both leadership and participation with it.
We hope to find a guild ranging from 25 to 100 members in size that always has active members participating with each other; whether it be socializing, Dungeons, RPing, WvW, ect. We mainly focus on WvW and on our off-time helping each other farm for the many treasures within Guild Wars 2.
My friend mains both a Warrior and Thief, although he has three level 80s(Warrior, Thief, Guardian). I, myself stick to Warrior although I also have a level 80 Ranger. Both of us are highly skilled in all aspects of PvP and pride ourselves on being the best at what we do.
Our play schedule varies due to work on my part, and work/school on his. Despite having outside dedications we both manage to play 6-12 hours a day on a daily basis.
If you think your guild has the stability, organization, and experience we are looking for then please contact me.
We are both more than willing to go through applications, tryouts, server transfers(US), and trial memberships. But we do not tolerate guild drama, elitist, or people who think that the game comes before real life matters.
Hope to meet you all and see you in game!
(Forgot to post, preferably want a 16-18+ guild of mature adults)

[Tarnished Coast] Transcendent Veneration - TV ... Looking for a few more
in Guilds
Posted by: Lord Titan.3791
Hey there members, leaders, and recruiters of TV. Known about you guys for sometime, but I felt happy where I was(guild-wise). Slowly the guild I’m in is slowly falling apart, inactivity/member participation mainly, and I’d love to give you guys a shot. I’d also love to send in a full application so you guys can know what to expect from me. Whether its through your website or in-game mail simply tell me when, where and who.
Need guild halls too. Remember how much you felt at home there? You’d do anything to repel the nasty invaders! The other day I was in GW1 and watching a GvG in Observer Mode. I had to root for the home team, since we had the same guild hall.
And you couldn’t zerg your way to victory usually, you had to use your skills and work together as a team. What I loved was that you could do unranked GvG with a guild of your choosing so you could battle a friendly guild for practice.
Completely agree. I understand that all of this is most likely in the works, GvG, Guild Halls, Observer Mode, ect. But wheres the news about it. Yes A-nets policy is to keep quiet until something is ready to be show cased and introduced into the game but this is a bad advertising plan. Wait long enough and people begin to lose interest, now throw them a cookie and to get there mouth wet and you have thousands of consumers on their feet waiting for whats next.
To those die hard Guild Wars fans out there you know what I’m talking about. Guild Wars in GW1 were the core of organized PvP. They were amazing in GW1 and it simply baffles me that they weren’t input into this game with the current mechanics they have.
Guild Wars in GW2 would be stunning? Imagine two organized guilds gathering a groub of 10-20 of their finest and facing off on a small scale world versus world map(1 keep, 2 towers, 3 supply camps) and battling for complete control.
I understand that sPvP is their main e-sport platform but why not include this as an alternative option. It would provide the organized PvP gameplay that both sPvP and WvW players are looking for while also providing a means for Guilds to show off what they are made of and earn the honor that so many of them are in search.
If anyone has any input into this subject please post below.
Hey everyone, figured I’d start a simply survey of who does and doesn’t want 2-handed Battle Axes inputted into the game.
Put either yes or no, and the reason why you feel that it should be in the game? I understand the difficulties of inputting this into the game because of balancing issues, new weapon skins, and putting it into the games vendors and drop tables would be tons of work, but maybe by some small miracle if we can get enough positive hits on this post they will consider it.
Still haven’t gotten anything.
Still no chest here either.
Why are only some people getting this??? I haven’t recieved one.
Still haven’t gotten anything.
It’s already happening: EB JP
It isn’t happening though. Random outnumbered ganks aren’t the same at all. What I’m talking about is an organized group of 10-30 players from each server forming a ring and then individual players dueling within. Its not gonna happen though unless people step up and say they want to participate.
I’m pretty sure you just broke the first two rules.
Haha yes indeed. It was a necessary evil though if we ever want to have this set up.
I am from Tarnished Coast.
Haha thanks. It’d be great if we could get it set up. I was thinking about creating a cross server guild specifically for WvW Fight Club nights to help coordinate things if we get enough people supporting it.
So I know this has been done on other servers and worked fairly well(DH, NSP) But I was wondering if it was possible here.
It’s a ton of fun if you can get the organization from a few big guilds and the use of some sort of voice communication to keep things in line.
If any large guilds from either server would like to contribute and help set this up please post below.
Fight club is pretty much a temporary truce from certain guilds/parties from all three servers that get together at a secret location and have friendly PvP matches. There isn’t a reward or prize from this. Simply bragging rights and a whole lot of fun.
If you have any suggestions please feel free to express them.
Pure WvW 80 Warrior: 857hr 41min/ 761 deaths/ 2,674 WvW kills
Hey everyone,
I’m sure that I am not the only one who has been having an issue with certain servers being full. Before all the trolls flood this I’m going to state that, 1 I am not trying to transfer to be on a better WvW server, 2 I do not hop servers everytime that I possibly can.
The server I’ve been trying to get onto is Tarnished Coast, this is where my guild [HOPE] is. It would be too difficult to try to transfer the entire guild to a lower populated server and would most likely break up the guild. I’ve been sitting at the character selection screen for the last 2 1/2 days refreshing the world selection every 30 seconds or so. Both nights I stay up till the server population was supposed to drop, 2-4am, but no luck.
Is there no way to transfer to full servers without getting lucky and checking when one other person changes their home server? Am I to sit at character selection checking with only a small chance of success.
If so than this is a problem. I as a player shouldn’t have to struggle to get onto a server with my fellow guildmates. There are overflows for major cities and queue times for WvW maps, so I can’t get my head around why server population being “full” is such a big deal when they have these systems in place to prevent too many people from being in one place anyway. I don’t understand why the server population is constantly full and how I am unable to transfer.
(edited by Lord Titan.3791)
Haha you guys know what I’m talking about.
Obviously spawn camping our server which only has an active amount of members ranging from 30-50 can’t be fun. Why don’t we make a friendly dueling bout since SF is clearly already going to win this week. Message me in-game, Miss Jennah.
Hello respectable Tarnished Coast guilds who took the time to read this, and thank you.
My name is James, I’ve been playing Guild Wars 1 since its release and have around 4.7k hours played. You can expect similar results from me in this game as well. Normally I play my Level 80 Warrior but on occasion I venture to my Level 80 Ranger. The content I stick to ranges from WvW, Dungeons, sPvP, Map Completion, and even helping the fellow low level guild mate. Work keeps me busy but I work graveyard shift so I have plenty of time in the day to play and I log around 4-10 hours a day unless something comes up.
What I’m looking for in a guild is as follows:
- 25 to 50 Active members for stick together and avoid solo play
- Some sort of voice chat(vent, mumble, TS3, skype)
- Must be diverse in activities and not stick to the same thing. Ex. Not Grind dungeons 24/7
- Have a range of both new and experience players( I enjoy helping players who are still learning the aspects of GW2)
- Members actively talk with each other and have a good time
Besides that there’s not much to say. I don’t feel that I’m requesting much. Simply put I haven’t found one that lives up to this yet. I am interested in a more strat. oriented WvW/sPvP guild but that is not required.
Thank you everyone for your time and hope to see you in game.
