I do not believe its the game engine as much as I feel its related to the CoherentUI.
If you disable the UI the game runs normally, even on max settings. Its really as simple as that. As you open more UI windows the FPS drops even more. Open inventory, get a FPS drop of 5-7, open the Guild Panel, FPS drops by 5 more, Open the WvW Panel, more FPS drops. Also, There is something going on with the UI that is driving the GPU usage up by at least 30%

Also, Coherent dropped support for the 1.x builds at the end of 2014. You are using 1.8.×.x in GW2, which is not fully supported anymore. If you are tacking on UI changes that ‘breaks’ the API Coherent isn’t going to help you guys with it unless you are running a 2.x Build from them.
That’s not really true. We have a very good relationship with Coherent, and have received great support when needed (including this year).
Please let us know how many time you’ll need for fix this or if you think that you can fix this 100%…

they are apparantly working on the issue but it isntfixed yet.
Do they actually know what went wrong or are they still just hitting the off switch on fun things while thinking they have superior intelligence?
I have no idea.. I just know they are working on it, dont know when it will be fixed or anything.. maybe it will be fixed in 6months, maybe tmrw, but I’m pretty sure it wont be fixed before the next few days/weeks lol

We performed optimizations on our post processing effect pipeline, which were released on Wednesday. Our guys also put a lot of hard work optimizing the new camera collision code. These changes were released yesterday.
Although these changes have improved performance we still haven’t solved the issue you guys are experiencing.

Hey guys, have you tried to repair the game client with the -repair argument? I had the FPS issue, and after the repairing, it seems that the game works fine now. Maybe I was just lucky, I don’t know

I do NOT want to hear anybody moaning about 60 FPS.
I have an i7 4710HQ, with an 860M GTX, with 16GB of ram. I had all the settings on highest, and I was playing comfortably. Even in WvW I never managed to drop below 100 FPS, in low population area’s, it would stick at 130 constant.
Edit: This is a Laptop, hence 860M
Then the update happened.
The first update, I could live with. I dropped to 50FPS at BEST. It would sometimes drop below even that. And so I played, I then slept, and then went to work, confident that Anet would resolve this issue!
And then I came home.
As I type now, I cant actually move my character without the screen stuttering. I’ve been reduced to 10FPS at max, on the lowest settings. SAY WHAT?
Yes, 10 FPS. I could understand if it was running from the Intel HD 4000 or whatever it is, but then even that should run at more than 10FPS on low settings.
If this persists, I won’t be able to play this game anymore.
—Worth mentioning, before anyone mentions it, my CPU is at 3% usage in a WvW map, and only 10% of ram is being used.

Yep, with your pc they can’t say that you have a “bad system” is just a problem of the game, I just wait that they resolve early…
Tbh I made a coin flip on going with that or shelling out the extra 600 cash to go with a I7-5930k and 16gb of ddr4-2100. Would’ve been soooo angry had that coin flip had gone the other way.
I know, I have a i5 2500k and I had gtx 570 and cant go with 60 fps, I bought 2 weeks a r9 280x and I can go with 60 fps with all ultra except the shadows, I literally bought for gw2, is the only game that I play on pc actually so… now I go 20-30 fps but my cpu go to 80% so is horrible (before the patch 50%) Im frustrated
We can just get hope that anet do not give up by saying “its your fault get a new pc”

Gaile said earlier they are working on it yeah, but at the same time Ive got a reply from the support asking me more infos about my computer/connection. So yea I guess they think that the FPS issue is our fault, I told them that the FPS issue is happening to most of players, but they like ignored it, and kept asking me all infos. this is rly weird, and not logic, as I said somewhere, if this bug was our fault, we would have low FPS either with UI enabled or disabled. I explained them everything, like I get back all my FPS as long as I have my UI disabled ect.. but they like ignore it, so I dont know if they rly do, but it really seems like. I’m really getting confused.
Support replied to me, they seems to think the FPS issue is OUR fault.
Well this update still have not fix the FPS issue.
And at the same time, Gaile replied here, support was saying like it was my fault if I had FPS drop…

Yea french support closed my topicand said that the FPS issue was fixed, they also sent a link with all the fixed bug from the lastest update, the problem is that the FPS issue doesnt even appear as fixed bug LOL… srsly, what a joke!
Im still waiting a reply from support right now. gave them as much infos as I could about the FPS issue.
I also noticed, When I open the “World Selection” ( where you choose the character u want play with ) it takes me 10-15FPS, when I charge any maps, I also get back all my FPS.
Just tested the FPS drop on my i7-4790K@5ghz and Dual 290’s
With the UI, 175 FPS looking at the sky
with out the UI 241 FPS looking at the skyThat is a HUGE drop….
So I’ve just sent these screenshots to the Dev, and hopefully they will acknowledge the issue now and not just blame my computer or other people’s or there internet etc, how much proof do they want, I’d say 100’s of people reporting the same thing is enough..

kittening Anet. This is happening on 5 of my systems, not just one. I just did a screenshot on my most powerful to show the MASSIVE FPS drop due to the UI.
They NEED to get their heads out of their @sses right now. 4 days and no response. Unprofessional and unacceptable. Times like this I wish the game had a subscription so you can throw it back in their faces.
They will never fix this.. 3 days now its been reported, and they dont even know where this bug come from.

That’s a huge download process to go through on it “should” be fixed when it’s obviously not. If anybody has done this and it has actually fixed the problem then I supposed I’d have no choice. At least we have plenty of other players sharing information. It at least allows us to form a partial picture of what is happening.
The french support said me the same about the FPS issue, they said that the FPS issue should be fixed by re installing the game ( the SHOULD BE scaring me ). If not I have to send a ticket which is saying the FPS issue isnt fixed by re installing the game.. I don’t like the fact that they are not 100% sure xD

*/so it seems somebody got a reply, it still dont explain why 90% of people only experienced this after the patch, and why turning the ui returns our fps to normal, none the less i will try the fix that was suggested
this seems more like ping-related problem. i (and many more ppl) dont have ping problems. (mine i about 40-60). its clearly sth with interface code (turning off ui, or just interface makes so huge frame differences)

That’s how it’s starting to seem, I read on one post that someone posted something on the guild wars 2 facebook page regarding the fps issue and it got removed O.O, it would be nice if they could just let us know there aware of the issue..this has to be a major knock in PR for arena net..
