Tell that to everyone who wouldnt accept our offer of 5g to come wipe us outside SM and instead decided to build more ACs in SM which btw could use some help right now.
Then I got upset and offered 20g… Not sure if that was passed along though haha.

Excuse me while I spend a week putting together the enormous montage of CoSa kills that Mend puts out every night. How about if you guys want a challenge you actually come face us in your bl, rather than give up after 2 hours of us destroying you in open field battles with half your numbers.
All this hate towards BC, and these apparent “bounties” are sad, of course people will be burst down by a zerg focus firing them because of a “bounty”. You accomplish nothing besides making yourself look like a kitten when posting a new video every night.
TLDR – Cut the crap, play the game, respect your opponents.
Angry much? It’s not a montage btw, it’s video proof of spikes to earn his bounty. You guys aren’t even the target. The spikes on BC are paid for by an ET PK member. The spikes on ET’s PK guild is paid for by one of our guys. See how it goes? It’s not a big deal. But if you’d like, feel free to return the favor and put a bounty on CoSA. Knowing the guys/gals in that guild, I’m pretty sure they’d get a lot of laughs out of it. Have fun paying for the bounties though; they have a lot of people and they don’t mind dying haha.

I don’t think PHZE has gotten enough credit for what they do and I feel like they’ve gotten much better since we faced them in T7, so here’s to you PHZE, keep up the good fights.

Its not really the answer a lot of people like but one available tool that a lot of people overlook are consumables. Many people either use none or straight damage consumables rather than what covers their weaknesses.
You took 8k damage from retal over a 12 second barrage. If you were using an omnomberry pie, it has a cd of 1 sec which matches barrage ticks – assuming you crit atleast once per barrage tick (which is expected as a damage ranger), you’d have proc’d 12 omnomberry pie steals, at 325 hp each or 3900 hp stolen, mitigating half of the retaliation damage.
If thats not your game, then the standard strategy applies – focus fire when retal is a problem to drop single targets, AoE when there’s a window. Retal is supposed to counter wanton AoE, and while it does arguably have too much uptime countering it too readily its a matter of adapting unless that gets changed.
Smart man, that’s exactly how to counter retal. It’s too bad some people want to just blindly throw AoE out there from the back lines and be safe at the same time. Being focused by rapid fire hurts like hell. I could just as well complain that LB rangers are op. 5 of them focus firing can kill anyone they want, with retal being a non-factor. And your zerg should have retal up as well.
Also, I swear a third of HoD in wvw are all LB rangers and they do just fine. I would hate to see them all start raining barrage on people just because retal gets nerfed to jokes damage. They’d be like mobile ACs, and we all know how ACs go…

Some of you are too worried about the individual trinket pieces. With the exception of heavy valkyrie users, 90% of existing trinket mixes can be recreated using Ascended trinkets. To go with an example that was mentioned above, instead of soldier trinkets with zerker jewels, run 4 pieces ascended soldier and 2 pieces ascended zerker (depending on how much zerker you want or however you wanna do it). In some cases though, you would have to replace multiple pieces at once to keep your min stats at the right level.

All we can do is get out there and stomp who we can, take what we can, and hold what we can against a server that should be at least T5 for sheer numbers alone. We can only get better by not being able to throw numbers at a problem and solve it with brute force.
SF is definitely not a T5 server. We’re solidly a T6 server with our current level of coverage. T5 servers and DH have much better sustained coverage than we can field.

Seriously, please fix this. I had a hell of a time trying to find my own party members on the map. The only way to make the blue show instead is when I zoom out on the map. That green dot sits on top of the commander icon as well, which is a bit annoying. This shouldn’t be a complicated fix as it looks like the layering order of the dots just got mixed up, so please resolve this asap ><

The zerg mentality is common because it’s the easier solution and the mindless horde only needs to really follow 1 or 2 people. Separating that 75-man zerg into say… 7 groups of 10-12 people would be the smart thing to do, but the coordination required to be effective between all those groups is much more complicated than organizing a single zerg.

You answered your own question right there. If their guard was decent, it would’ve been a different story. Anything you can do, he should also be able to do. And just because the other team was a pre-made doesn’t mean they were any good.
Also, there are quite a few counters to guardians. It’s not the class’s fault if other people choose not to field those any of those counters. A good necro/sd-thief/mesmer/engi can all ruin a guard’s day. There are some really nasty evade tank rangers out there as well.
So yes, I think it’s balanced pretty well. The other team just didn’t know what they were doing.

That’s based on current score (as of today). Unless by some miracle we hold our lead through Friday, there’s no way we’ll be green. And besides, the new wvw matchup system goes into effect next week, so green/blue/red won’t matter anymore.

The only thing guardian needs to be a completely well-rounded class is some touch-ups to the Zeal traits and making spirit weapons a viable alternative to other builds. Everything else should be left as is.
Those changes you’re suggesting would make guardians completely overpowered.

but my question is, where did everyone go when we took it? You guys had roughly 30-35 people defending Hills, but when it came time for your Garrison it was vacant. We were all a bit confused.
Like my post above, SF had a lot of people defending OW and some defending Veloka but once we capped their 4 towers and hit the keep, we got in there and saw 2 people in the lords room on balistas.
Thats one thing SF need to address ASAP! The moral of your server drops so fast. Us on IoJ, we have a core group that will fight till the last supply camp falls and when that happens, we’ll be popping breakouts and hitting keeps straight after!
I was there for that garrison cap, and yeah it hurt. I’m surprised you guys didn’t know that we lose a lot of people around those hours due to people going to bed. We were already on our last legs defending Hills and Cliffside. After Hills went, we were losing people by the minute. When DH flipped Garrison, we had like 6 people on the map. And you also had us distracted trying to counter the Cliffside treb haha, so props on the backdoor I suppose. By the time someone called out watergate in map chat, it was already too late.

As far as Signet of Resolve goes, you must have switched your traits to not use the signet cooldown trait, which would bring your 40s cd down to 32s. The default is 40s even in PvE.

Been on the Eternal Battle grounds for 8 hours with a short break in our borderlands to help out, but we where out manned for almost the whole day. Dark Haven, I will have to say you got people, and they are very responsive too attacks and everything. Even with AC’s and siege you just roll on over us and turn our small army into badges.
As for SF, you guys can stay in your corner of EB and we will stay in ours =P. At around 1:15 you brought that huge zerg around our keep and I though you where going to hit us… Well good battles all around and just wished we had a bit more people. Tried to keep our points up for our Oceanatics and Ms. Starkk.

If you’re well spec’d for roaming play, thieves generally aren’t a huge deal. More of an annoyance because of all their escape mechanisms. They only die if they over-commit when trying to kill you. Otherwise it just ends up being a tie. The only ones that are a bit of a pain are skilled s/d thieves due to the new boon steal (depending on how much your build relies on boons).

Remember, according to Anet, Guardians are supposed to be fighting on the front-lines, so of course they have a ton of survivability. But you have to remember, any Guardian that’s built as bunker as you say they are will have near laughable damage. Try fighting some good players when you’re on your Guardian next. You’ll realize you that they might not be able to kill you, but you won’t be able to kill them either. It’ll be about who makes the first mistake. If you try to facetank a Guardian with a lighter armored class, that’s your problem.

Keep in mind VoR and VoC have long cooldowns in the first place. They’re never meant to be activated if you can help it, and you only really do so to pull yourself or your party out of a sticky spot in a last ditch effort.

Completely agree with the OP. Rams last way too long considering they’re only useful for a few minutes before either the gate or the ram goes down. AC/Cata/Balli timer needs to be increased for the sake of the poor graveyard shift workers. 5 people running around a map trying to defend AND refresh defensive siege is a really sad sight to see.

Observing doesn’t kill stuff. How are you supposed to observe, if the average zerg clash is decided within 10 seconds?The only thing that’s clever is: You see enemy zerg approaching with retal up.

A zerg clash decided in 10 seconds? One side of that zerg is either vastly larger or far more skilled than the other, in which case, you have a bigger problem than retal. Or someone just got caught with their pants down.
And why doesn’t your zerg have retaliation? Observing definitely kills stuff if your opponent is doing the same thing you say you’re doing. Let them kill themselves with retaliation and just laugh while you mop up the fight. Besides what stopping you from doing single-target dps instead of aoe? You’re still attacking but getting much less retal in return. This is assuming retal is up 24/7 and is never removed.

And you don’t see a problem that there are classes, which are needed because of retal and classes which are utterly useless unless another class strips the retal for them?
If all of that stems from the fact, retal is so utterly powerfull, how about fixing retal instead?
No, I don’t see a problem. The difference for me here I guess, is that I think every class is necessary in big fights (yes, even thieves). It’s not just about retal. Mesmers/necros strip boons in general, so that retal is removed anyway. If no one’s stripping boons, then it’s just going to be a bad time in the first place. Unless you like letting your opponents walk around with every boon activated that is. And in that case, you take what you get.
Some people are also putting up theoretical maxes of how much damage retal can give. In a real pvp situation though, considering a mesmer/necro is doing their job flipping boons on people, at least half those people on average won’t have retal anymore. So cut that max retal damage figure in half and that’s how much it approximately does in a practical situation. Retal isn’t really that strong. It only hits hard if people let it do so.

I was there trying to push SF when they had our keep in EB with a similar number to us, but they outfought us. If we were that good as we claimed to be, we would have at least been able to get a camp out of it.
