That’s easy UO the very first MMO I played didn’t have an Endgame it was open community and the people created the content themselves. Pks pushing good people out of a mining area, let go beat those punks. Want to go cannibal and chop people and eat them (before they got sued) go for it. Hell I could get on sit down with some chaps and play chess in a tavern. Play commodity broker by purchasing out reagents and hocking them on a corner yelling prices. Go build a house. Tame Dragons.

ArcheAge comes to mind.

Though ya every MMO eventually hits a dead end where there are limited options except like UO and ArcheAge and open world games like that.

Ya I can go play those MMOs and probably will. The question isn’t about other games it’s about what does GW2 offer me?

Every one or two weeks I will find the same ori node at the same place in Malchor Leap. SO it is possible.

At least the node is not randomly placed every time the server goes for a update or maintenance.

Fobik- Gold and Gem exchange rate is across all servers. Same as the Trading post stuff. =)

They DID just release new content. If the answer to new content release is to go play something else, they’ve messed something up in a major way.

I don’t play the game like it’s a job. I’m a solo player, somewhat casual. I don’t think you understand the complaints at all. The new fractals REWARD those players who make the game a job, and screws over the rest of us who don’t. Just becuase you don’t realize the impact upper tier gear has on you, the casual player, doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Raincrow, these types of players who think it’s “no big deal” to the casuals will get rude awakenings when they are in WvW and get the hammer dropped on them by enemies that DID get all that “no big deal” grind armors.

Oh there will be plenty of wailing and gnashing of teeth then.

These types have absolutely no vision.

For any players old enough to remember DAoC, and the abomination that was Trials of Atlantis… it’s an all too familiar story of forced-PVEing ruining RvR (exact same thing as WvW here).

I like WvW. I don’t want to PvE any more than was necessary to get to 80 (which honestly isn’t even required if you’re willing to zerg it up in WvW as an uplevel). I don’t want a PvE grind. Period. I left WoW because of that. I quit DAoC because of that. I ditched Rift because of that.

And when I saw it’s arrival here in GW2, my heart sank.

After that, it’s been hard to even give a flip about WvW. Since it’s only a matter of time before I’ll be heavily outclassed in my already outclassed yellows.

The only way I see that Guild Wars 2 can get out of this mess is by making Ascended gears PVE usable only.

Were the different builds and tons of skills made available during the first few months of GW1 or introduced over the years?
I am really interested in knowing not trolling.

I spend $0.00 on the gem store and get the some of the stuff ppl complain about and I only play 4-5 hours a day. What does that make me?

I can imagine myself at Cursed shore and my guild mate post in guild chat “Shatterer is up”. By the time I walk/fight/swim my way there event ended. Nice way to populate the world. No thanks!

Guild Wars 2 itself is not a complete game and they are adding new things and modifying the game every few months. Lets all stop looking at the crystal ball and stop predicting the future. Ascended gears are there but you can don’t grind for it and play the game as it is. Let’s just hope the limit ascended gears for PVE only so we have less complain .. maybe?

Saw one of those ninja at Malchor Leap near veteran knight area. Quite impossible ppl log in juz to farm 1 Mithril Node and log off. The player just appear from nowhere farm and disappear. I bet some ppl is using some teleporting hack to the nodes. Devs reading this should take a look into this matter.

Traits and equipment stats do play a big role in these places. Another thing is you do not need to grind lvl 80 area for lvl 80 equipment. you can do it at lvl 70+ area too.

Cove is juz full of dead bodies waiting for guardian and warriors to rizz. LOL.

If those ppl got their precursors due to the fact they played the whole event again with different chars. Legit.
Those who did not and use the other method . Ban. LOL

Are you kidding me? You think this is an “exploit”?

They made it so that you can loot the chest on multiple characters, and they made it so that after so many hours, you can loot the chest again.

If this wasn’t intended, they wouldn’t have freaking put it in. The event was going on all day. If you couldn’t make it, oh well.

The only valid complaints about this event are from those who actually were there. There was countless lag, the event was awfully managed (for example, being funneled down a ramp into invisible monsters that can one shot entire zergs), and they kicked everyone off without a warning. These are only some of the problems with this event. Sadly, “I couldn’t make it to the event and now I’m butthurt because people got the reward more than once” just doesn’t cut it as a valid complaint.

if the event was suppose to run the entire day, why did they have to restart the server at 10pm, judging by Anet in-compliance they realize people were exploiting with overflow server.

Still I would say ban those who did not participated in the event and exploited the chest by switching between chars to get the loot.

@xEtherx Please read the post properly. The op is whining about ppl getting a virtual weapon which to him worth $250 green paper. . I know it is hard to swallow for ppl whose aim and direction in game is to make a legendary. Hey look on the bright side! Anet is gonna make it easier so sooner or later u will get yours!.

P.S I do not own a precursor too. And I did not exploit the event with alt chars. I only played it once.

Yeah its pretty said how anet is giving everything to the whinners who spent more time whinning on forum than actually playing and working towards a legendary.

No matter how high the chance was, fact is that the legendaries dropped about 50% on price. When actually only Dusk, Dawn and maybe Legend and Hunter were overpriced. All other precursors had either the right price (150-250g) or were underpriced.

Now since anet decided to hand over 25% of a Legendary on a silver platter, the price on most precursors is laughable. Hell, most precursors cost now less than 100 Icy Runestones lol….

So basically precursor that used to be cca. 25% of the legendary, is now 5-10% of the actual legendary. Now you can argue on the RNG, but you cant argue with the fact that Precursor is now by far the easier final “gift” for Zommoros. From hardest to easiest after one single event is always wrong!

I wish anet would have sticked to rewarding the 20-slot bag and the Earring only, those were pretty nice rewards, and actually made up for your time. So what will be next? Clovers dropping out of xmas presents? Cant wait to see more depreciating of others work.

Anet better not give Leo anything for the obvious reason.

There was an NPC who exchange 1000 shells for the Ancient Shell (+25 to all stats) .

awww they removed that NPC? That is sad though. I was thinkg about grinding a few weeks for that nice shell! Put him back!

Let’s hope Christmas event is as fun as Mad King instead. We all did not enjoy some parts of Lost Shore. But thanks for the event !

I said this three times now, if I’m seeing people in a few of my guilds, and people on map-chat, even at this hour, basically a day after the event, at each-others throats, then something is wrong.

I gotta wonder if you would use the “Its just a game.” excuse, if say ANet decided to suddenly either take all your gold, or make your character start from level 1, humor me, just say they had their reasons, you’d be cool with that? 100%?

You bought a PC that come with 4 gb ram then this guy bought the same PC 1 week later same price and was given 8 gb ram. It is totally different from you bought a PC and the maker of the PC decided to strip your PC to just the casing. Get it? Nope? Too bad then.

I did not get a precursor and I don’t feel a need to whine. Owning 0 precursor and 0 legendary. It is just a game. There are bigger things in life to be disappointed about or to aim for.

Please show me how you calculated 40% ? Just because some ppl were given the precursor that you gone through “hardship” to get or you are still trying to get?

The zerg fest was fun. The only thing I hate was 2 x reinforcements and the amount of hatchlings in the nest…….. I am having nightmare of being eaten alive by hundreds of those hatchlings.

Anet should look into the effect of one time events. Ppl who did not make it for the event should have some consolation. maybe a 10 slot bag or some RNG yellow and below equipment.

Staff always been a good wide+long range tagging weapon. Add 45-50% critical chance to it for maximum effects.

One of my guildmate was banned for botting a couple of days back. Looking at this thread I wonder is the motto “Ban first , talk later” ?

Faced this problem when playing games like DWO where ppl play faction vs faction. The same thing that is gonna happen here is people will join the top few servers that are ranked in WvWvW Tier 1 and Tier 2 . NObody wants to join bottom or less populated servers even for PVE. Unless they implement low population server players gain +10 to all stats in PVE mode. (or something similar) Maybe that will help balancing out servers.

I also want to thank ANet for the update! Stats to me are nothing but the cosmetics stuff and new area are refreshing. A break from looking at half rotten zombies all day.

I would like something similar to Aion or DWO. It would be nice.

Reason being.. Those companies that made those lousy games. They USED to make epic games decades back. The fan boys waited 10 over years for a lousy release and unable to overcome the fact those game are so lousy.
ArenaNet is consider a “black horse” company so ppl will be skeptical about Guild Wars 2.

Seems like you have not much influence power over your friends. (Same as me. My friends are play DBL3 and they like running in circles in that game.) But no worry we are here for you. We love this game!

*I don’t think I wanna play a game where I have to pay monthly and grind like hell to make it worth. And a game where I play the same storyline and same area over and over again . No thanks .
