Why is sPvP shaman and world shaman different? I reallly love my necro build in sPvP and would like to mimic it for WvW but I can’t.
Shaman armor in the regular world has Vit instead of toughness.
There are other inconsistencies too, like Knight Armor in sPvP is Vit, Power, Toughness and in world its Toughness, Power, Vit. First stat being primary.
It would be nice to have this combination for world play. The obvious quick fix would be to make Shaman stats match up. Maybe make them all match up, so you know a build you tested in sPvP can translate over into world play.
And while I’m griping, why on earth does this game pair precision with condition damage for the necro? All of its strong condition applying weapons (scepter, Staff) lack a good damage multiplier(how much benefit they derive from your attack stat). Thus they have inherently low damage and you know the multiple of a small number is a small number. So Precision is useless for such weapons.
So the best stats for a Condition necro are Condition dmg, Toughness, Healing power/Vitality
But you can’t get those stats without having to take worthless power and/or precision.
This isn’t a problem for the other classes since their primary builds are direct damage builds. Even the other ‘conditiony’ classes like thief and Ranger split their dps 50/50 between direct and condition.

This is another 30/0/10/0/30 Beastmaster Build.
This has served me very well in sPvP so far. Like getting first place multiple times despite running on a 1.9ghz amd and integrated graphics. So yeah.
Don’t stat crit. Stat Power and vitality. Toughness too. Maybe condition damage. Opening strike gives you a psuedo crit mechanic. Your pet crits too.
So now you have tons of survivability. You get 50% more endurance + a vigor buff on a short cd. USE IT. One time I dodge tanked a whole group for a good 20 seconds by dodge rolling forward through a guy, then lightning backfliping past them when they turn around after me, then roll through them again, then roll away, then use shortbow evade, then roll, then wolf fear, on and on.
Now when you want to kill someone, open with longbow, then switch to short bow. Rotation: Barrage, weakness, knockback, rapid fire, switch, then poison arrow, cripple, and auto attack till they are dead. Be sure to circle around them as you fire to get bleeds. The reasoning is that opening strike works best with a big attack like Barrage. It will drop weakness and crits on everyone. When you kill someone be sure to switch back to longbow and drop another barrage.
Oh, and when you swap to shortbow, do a pet swap too. Use Quickness when you can, preferably with shortbow and a good flank.
Lastly, your pet is a beast. No, I mean it, pop your pet skills and watch him get 3.8k crits. Well my wolf does anyway. Switch pets often. Each fresh switch pops out a pet with 3 stacks of might, 2 secs of quickness, and a fresh skill bar…
So that’s pretty much it. Simple and powerful build. Solid single target dps through pets and quickness, and lots of aoe effect to spread the love (and conditions) around.
Well, my BM/GS build seems to kill pretty darn fast. I constantly pet swap for quickness buff so I get aggro a lot. The quickness makes the 3rd strike evade proc a lot more. And this build IS thick with the right equipment and traits. I stood toe to toe with a Hammer guardian in sPvP and won. It was a close fight and a long fight but I did win. Any damage I lost from going tank spec I get right back with my buffed up pair of wolves, and the synergy between Quickness and Rampage as One. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on this build so I know it works.
I’m playing this game on a poorly made Compaq CQ50 laptop with a 1.9ghz Athlon X2 and 4gb of ram. Oh and a integrated 8400g M grahpics with 256mb shared.
The heatsink for the gpu had about a mm of gap between it and the gpu with some heat foam to gap it. Hence I used a folded piece of paper held in place with a band aid to press on the heatsink from above to close the gap.
It still gets hot enough to burn my fingers. The keyboard, that is.
I run it in a window with bare minimum graphics at half sample. I get 15 fps outside, 5 in a cave, and .1 fps in a zerg vs zerg.
