why would anyone use axe autoattack for anything except semi-afking world bosses? I’m confused. But I have to admit the animation looks like utter kitten
(edited by MAN.9046)
I just use spectral grasp to pull them to the middle of the zergfest on mid, Using Ctrl+T before that, and watch them melt. 1v1… They almost always use their knockback and followed by Rapid fire the moment you are in range- double dodge knockback and RF, death shroud(or endure pain, or the shield wall guards pop up) the rest of rapid fire and that massive cripple AoE (barrage?), chill them so they cant use those 2/3 skills again in the 1v1, and that’s gf right there. Occasionally a ranger will actually know his stuff and still beat you, those are the ones that actually switch to GS when you’re up close rather than using their LB, but like 90% of them probably don’t even know what a GS is lol.
EDIT: The point I’m trying to make is the vast majority of the rangers use the same tactics, easily telegraphable and countered.

I switch between power and condi necro depending on the map. But that’s about it
Was playing a condi necro (no corrupt boon) and had a DPS guardian by my side, came up against 2 bunker ele’s, it took like a minute and a halfbut we took the 2 ele’s down with healh to spare. 1v1 though…
Here’s an idea, but it isn’t too good… Increase the ICD but make them player controlled, like add an F6 to trigger your sigil, would allow for a nice wy to “finish” your opponent. I hate when sigil of rage just randomly procs when I’m AA’ing a downed person
Problem started on my account, but my brother who shares my PC with me didn’t have this problem until recently, he also started to have that leaderboard lag
Hi there, as the title says, are all the dungeones in all games, designed that way?
If you’re talking about RPG’s in general (so including single player), I’m yet to play one where hiding in a corner and waiting for the mob to come to you works. If you’re talking about MMO’s then i wouldn’t know as I only played GW2.
I’m inclined to think condi necro’s have decent removal with dagger#4 and staff#4, so direct damage mitigation is more significant to me. And more crit=more bleed procs, I find myself stacking 6-8 stacks of bleeds just with Scepter#2 and dagger#5, from then it’s the DS 2,3,5 combo and AA spam till they cleanse or drop. Can’t argue with pressure in DS using LB. It’s Damage is pathetic on rabid and I just cast DS 2,3,5 then leave DS (kind of a waste of LF and drop in survivability?) to spam Scepter AA if i used my CD’s already. Not gonna argue the meta or anything, just my personal preference
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Necromancer_-_Traditional_Terrormancer
The meta chooses carrion over rabid; I don’t get it. You stack better bleeds with rabid, @ 49% crit chance you can proc sigil of earth and barbed precision much more often. What’s the reasoning behind cariion?
Is it safe to assume the majority of PvE toxicity comes from dungeons? I’ve played much less dungeons than PvP matches, but saw wayy more dungeon leavers, seems like they want a perfect metarun speedclear 5k+AP or else..
say that in the necro forums and they’ll obliterate you lol
just my two cents here. I rarely have 4v5’s(either on my side or the other side). Like i would say maybe once every 20 games. Maybe I’m just lucky
yeah, gotta feel for whichever poor guy that gets to do this
3. What is the most broken thing in gw2 competitive pvp?
Broken? Ladder, MMR in general, mid-air-immobilize
I wouldn’t call a profession / spec ‘broken’.
Coming from the necro forums, it’s nice to see that there are people out there who don’t consider necro “broken” or non-viable. ’tis a pleasant change
Two shotting thieves in DS on my zerker DS necro build is fun though
Y’know, I’ve played about 300 hours of necro(nothing compared to others here, i’ve only been going for 3 months) , about 2/3 of which were in PvP.
The majority of these hours I’ve been perfectly happy with my Necro, sure I would get torn apart by hammer warriors, shatter mesmers, thieves and rangers( though the last two i’ve finally got a hang of an are not much of a problem). I digress, my point is I felt necro was on par with other classes until i started frequenting the forums, where shortcomings I didn’t even know exist were brought to light (cast times, srsly?).
My fellow necro’s you have made me feel necro was utterly useless in this game, and you seem determined to instill this mentality in everyone and spread it throughout the forums. Never felt the lack of stability, condi application, mobility or even the cast times were a problem. It seems like people here are determined to cement the fact that necro is the worst. Just because necro’s are not meta, doesn’t mean we are worth kitten. Feels like people exaggerate a little.
Maybe part of why necro is unpopular (least played class) is the atmosphere in the forums.
I mean sure we could use a few tweaks here and there, but you make it seem like necro can’t make the difference in any atmosphere, be it PvP or PvE.
To conclude, what I’m trying to say is you shouldn’t come on here with things like, " I don’t have mobility to get away when i’m ganked 2v1" as if any other class would have… Every class has shortcomings that will be exposed.
A little more positivity would do us all alot of good, keep your head up high, go out there and make us necro’s proud!
Peace.
Edit: I kind of went off point here, I was just gonna talk about how you guys turned me from someone who was happy with necro to part of this sulking mob (a lovable, fluffy, at times funny mob
Edit 2: I was an Guild wars2 FB group the other day, a poll asking which class was most OP popped up, out of i believe several hundred people, 25% voted necro. An issue of L2P? Maybe, maybe not. Food for thought though.

Like Anet would actually do such a thing for us… Dream on my friend, we all dream with you
good points. this doesn’t bode well for our new spec whenever it gets released
wanna know what kittens me off? there is a dev on the guard forums asking them for suggestions for changes to virtues or tomes or something like that… Eventhough guards are in a good state. We’re arguably the worst off and well, no one gives half a kitten to ask us what we think. Seems like we’re being left to die off in silence lol.
I use Axe/Focus for PvP, never been fan of the dagger. However for PvE/WvW the axe i believe isn’t too good since enemies usually move in mobs, so wells are your main source of damage. Plus dagger hits multiple enemiies at close range, good for PvE but not WvW
Everyone on this forum is universally opposed to the lifesteal/vampire builds, claiming it’s broken. Haven’t tried it myself so i wouldn’t know. Now run for the hills before you’re lynched by the mobs lol.
I only see the “Life Steal sucks” and “Blood Magic is garbage” approach, so tell me more about those considering it broken, and why it is broken when eg- Warris sustain a lot more while having an invuln aswell as higher damage and stability?
Like I said, I wouldnt know since I have’nt tried such a build
So if I remember correctly, most people were kittened off by the changes to the curses trait line announced in the specializations livestream; they were disappointing/ ruined the whole tree. However I think that with some minor changes this has alot of potential, a major (at least for me) change was that Haemophilia is now merged with barbed precision, thus making room for Enfeebling Blood, which is great for obvious reasons.
Now, here is how the rest could be fixed:
-Terror takes its place back in master traits or is made to be the 3rd Minor trait, this is since Terror is a must have trait for any Necro condi build, hence the name “terrormancer”. The problem is that we have Terror with what is seemingly another absolutely must have trait: the revamped Lingering Curses, which received a major buff IMO.
-Path of Corruption to be moved back to GM eventhough to me, it doesnt compete with Lingering curses unless it corrupts saaay 4 boons?
-Target the Weak still contributes nothing to a condi build, I honestly think Path of Corruption (or Terror) would sit very nicely as a 3rd minor trait.
I think reshuffling the master and GM traits is a must, since Terror vs Lingering curses I think will do more harm than good to condi builds
Everyone on this forum is universally opposed to the lifesteal/vampire builds, claiming it’s broken. Haven’t tried it myself so i wouldn’t know. Now run for the hills before you’re lynched by the mobs lol.
You also gotta remember that forum folk are the vocal minority
Necromancers, because of the theme, are incredibly popular by the masses
I barely ever see necromancers. Dunno what you’re talking about.
I dunno about that; I fairly frequently end up with 2 necros running a dungeon (2 necro’s are more common than 2 ele’s or guards for me), sometimes the other necro leaves before we are a full 5. Heck once we had 2 necro’s, then a 3rd popped up but insta-left lol.
Eh, my moral only feels low when i come to check out the forums, sPvP is loads of fun in my supposedly broken death shroud and condi builds(no stunbreakers equipped YOLO i guess :/), I win like 50% of my 1v1’s. And in dungeons I don’t die too quick unless I do something stupid like rezzing someone in an AoE; I’m yet to be kicked from a run… I only feel necro is inadequate when I come on to the forums, then again I only ever played necro
(edited by MAN.9046)
I was really really disappoined they removed Path of Midnight, I used Doom ad Dark Path 2-3 times per 1v1, hope that becomes baseline too. Putting Terror as a GM was really dumb, they put 2 seemingly must have traits for any condi necro (Terror and the boosted Lingering curses) in the same tier. I mean having a choice is great, but you either lose out on that burst in the form of terror or the approx 10% increase in condi damage and 100% duration. This can all be fixed if Path of Corruption is back as a GM trait and terror back as Master though it arguably doesnt deserve to be there unless it converts 3-4 boons to condis
(edited by MAN.9046)
ah ok. Thanks for the clarification
seriously? if it’s not a condition then what is it?
- Character name: Lord Of Spriggans
- Account Name: MAN.9046
- Server: Fissure Of Woe
- Preferred game mode: Dungeons and PvP
-Necros: 1 My only char so far, just started in February
Logged about 100 hrs more than half in PvP
wait a minute i remembered something: i also have 30% condi duration from the spite tree.
30(spite)33(rune of mesmer)+50(Banshee’s wail)=113? Or am I doing something wrong here? Sorry for not mentioning this earlier
(edited by MAN.9046)
oh so the calculation method i used was wrong, OK thanks
So I managed to get my daze durtion up to 3 secs using Banshee’s Wail. I wanted to raise it to 4, and rune of the mesmer gives an extra 33% daze duration, However on adding rune of the mesmer, my daze duration is still 3.. Basic math: 33% of 3 is 1 therefore 3+1=4.
OK thanks alot guys/gals!
soo a friend of mine just bought the digital deluxe edition on sale. But his bandwidth ran out so he can’t finish the download within the next 2 days. Will something bad happen(eg account deleted or anything of the sort) happen if he doesn’t finish the DL before the sale finishes?
