A 25% heal with a 5 or 8 seconds cooldown would be great.

This was clearly meant to be part of a balanced breakfast, i.e. combined with SoM and life leech from food. I suspect that they might amp up the gain a bit in a future patch, but ANet has to be careful with combat heals, so it’s better to release it somewhat underpowered and see what players do with the thing.

Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to compare this trait with Executioner or Hidden Killer, which do different things. It’s better set next to Assassin’s Reward or Shadow’s Rejuvenation.

I hope you are right, otherwise its just a no useful trait.

I want to hear feedback from you guys.

I personally play a Venom/Tank thief and I was hoping for this trait to finally make my build viable, which it does not.

I think that weighted against the new traits this one is sub-par. We’re are talking about 50hp for every 1k dmg you critically hit.

I won’t even compare us to other classes’ guards and invulnerabilities, because we are not meant to last that much, but really, non-stealth builds need some love.

Is someone using this?

Why no love for stealthless P/P thieves

I play a Thief P/P since pre-release.

Its funny how I only use 3. SOMETIMES 4. And even less 2.

I have 1,500 hours of playing my only character which is a thief and I don’t play stealth.
I can assure you there’s barely any other decent build for thief.
Venom thiefs are a joke.
Pistols is a joke.
Tank is a joke.

I’ve tried it all. Right now I’m a mix between Venoms and Tank, which is ok for PvE but really lackluster on PvP.

But don’t worry, our time will come.

The league started again without resolving this issue.
Its just nonsensical to rally up and do an effort along 3 days to make a 10k points gap with the nearest server, just to wake up losing.

3 days of fighting, 3 days of winning, 10k points, lost in a single night.

Proposal Overview
PPT points awarded by total population porcentage of all three maps plus all holded structures.

Goal of Proposal
The issue right now is that coverage is affecting the overall performance of servers during a match, being the case that a winning server can be “flipped over” completely in a very short time while it has no coverage. This issue mainly presents in server’s night time because of the different playing schedules players have.

Proposal Functionality
The WvWvW server’s capacity for all three Bordelands Maps is presumably 1800 players. 450 for every Bordeland, including Eternal Battlefields.
The server must then account for all present players on all three maps and assign a percentage to the gained PPTs based on them for that tick.
This scheme will reward servers for being more active and balance the points in a manner more attuned with the challenge they’re facing. Having always in mind that the core systems of W3 is PvP.

An example for this proposal would be:

Grouping poblation for points:

From 1-200 players online 30%
From 201-500 players online 50%
From 501-1800 players online 100%

At some time during the match there are 201 players distributed in all maps. The server proceeds to calculate the given percentage of points to give for every hold structure based on total online players. For this example it would be 50% of all points, given that 201 falls in a mainly PvP envirorment, because it is impossible for 201 players not to clash and be able to defend themselfs.

For that match the Blue Server has a tower that is worth 35 points per tick, it would then tick for 18 points. But if 100 players leave, under this new scheme that same tower will grant 10 Points Per Tick.

This scheme will reward servers for being more active and balance the points in a manner more attuned with the challenge they’re facing. Having always in mind that the core systems of W3 is PvP.

Additionally, this system should exclude the server’s Borderland, so structures reward the whole amount of their worth regardless of online players in the home land.

Associated Risks
*Given that less players overall, mean less points per tick, a server could make a huge void in the score and then flee. However, this tactic would be nullified by the fact that BLs give the whole points and that even with a huge difference, leaving the BLs completely alone will mean other teams will hold those structures.

  • Another risk would be to tick for a huge amount and then mass leaving the BLs when losing, just to return later with more strength. This would be denied by storing in cache the highest amount of players for a number of ticks and only diminish it after the 10th tick or so.
  • Will update the suggestion with any additional risk you guys suggest.

P.S: The numbers here are not final and thus, are due to change. The percentage should be adjusted more fairly.

I updated the 1st post with a suggestion.

Their is one and only one way to fix this issue, everyone, everywhere quits their jobs, moves to America (preferably the same state.) then agrees that the hours of 12 midnight to 8am is sleeping time. We eat at 9am, 12noon and 6pm, our shower is at 7pm and lasts for 15 minutes. The rest of the time every player plays WvW.

Cause how else would it be fair right?

Because guess what it isn’t only the australian’s ect that are apart of our nightwatch, its people who work afternoon shifts at their jobs, or people with no job and spare time, people on vacation or breaks.

More importantly the reason GoM has caught back up was because 40 people decided to sacrifice sleep for many nights in a row, to catch up. This is a war, a contest. The rules are given to us and we work towards our strengths. Can we match other servers with numbers, kitten no, its a pve server primarily. However those who do WvW are some of the most dedicated kittens you could ever meet, We are willing to not sleep, to play more hours and try harder then our competition right now, and thats why we are doing well.

So yeh, let this drop, the only way to fix it is to discriminate against everyone who isn’t living exactly your situation, you might as well complain about the fact people who only play 3 hours a day arn’t making as much gold as people who play all day. The game as it stands doesn’t discriminate against anyone personally, your either restricted by your real life situations and desires, or you aint.

And that I think, is the way that is fairest to the community, not the individual.

Please, stop complaining and making alaborated sarcastic posts excusing the fact that you are tacking advantage of a mechanic that could be improved.

It has already been stated before that this thread is for ideas on improving such system.

On another subject:

I think the problem with PPT being attached with server population is that other servers might run to their BL or other map in order to avoid the winning side from gaining points.

How could this be addressed?

If they implemented this change as well in WvW like quite a few have mentioned in the past.. Making WvW faction based (for example) as opposed to server based, you’d solve the coverage issues in one fell swoop. Having 3 factions per say (mega servers with multiple even instances of each map), instead of 27 servers (high populated servers vs ghost town servers), you now have solved the problem.

People just have to let go of the “server pride” mentality for the greater good of the game.

This is not necessarilly true.
What if you unite in one side server who have zero to little nightwatch and on the other side servers with an active nightwatch?

The outcome would be the same: The Nightwatch would flip it all.

Sounds to me like the OP is on Sorrows Furnace server. I hate to break it to you but this is something called stratagy…..

Smaller servers have trouble winning against your massive blob zergs and outnumbering us 3 to 1. Therefore we use small man/gorilla tactics during the day and some of use adjusted our schedule/work 2nd shift to stay up and flip everything back.

Its just stratagy from a team that wants to win and has something to prove. Get on our level or get over it.

“Your massive blob zergs”: It’s not my fault you can’t win on even fights. As far as everyone knows all maps are 150 per team, and you guys are no less. Or will you say GoM has no queus? Will you say you had no queus the entire weekend when we beated your what Anet likes to call, kitten?

“Smaller servers”: You make it sound like GoM is a victim, when I’ve been outnumbered in EB, even on my own BL and have been unable to take back structures because of your numbers. You guys can’t play WvW, simple.
SF only had quoes on the weekend, as well as you.

“I hate to break it to you but this is something called stratagy”: It’s called abusing a flawed system. If you had strategy you would split into teams and conquer stuff instead of running around in a giant worm-like-zerg. If you had strategy you wouldn’t be afraid of the removal of the nightwatch. You guys have no strategy. You have a WIN button and you press it. Winning PvP matchs by doing PvE.

And I’m not even mad.

I completely agree with your logic. No one on either side would disagree that there is a population (more accurately wvw population) imbalance issue.

Read the thread before posting. We already stated this is not viable.

It’s a ridiculous design flaw, but we’re stuck with it until either GW3 or a major WvW expansion comes along.

I have no doubt Devon has already checked this thread.
We, as players, have a wide view of some things and a narrow view of other things, but I feel like this is a valid issue, and while I wouldn’t use such words as “game breaking”, it is definetely something to improve. We already disscussed this on one CDI and the WvW showed this corcens them.

So, yeah, the affected ones will complain, specially now the league is on and we understand we are unfairly losing. On the other side, the upperhanders will say nothing is wrong. But at the end Anet has the last word, and I trust they are with us.

QQ much? dont like the score? dont sleep and flip it

Every suggestion about reducing ppt reduces the play experience for those not in the server’s “primetime”. Nvm ppl with different schedules, students, and ppl who play where there are no servers that they are part of “primetime”.
This argument had gray hairs on it back during the 2nd beta weekend event, it’s old and pathetic.

So recruit, or stay up. Stop being a kitten about it.

Am I viased or does these guys really look like they are afraid of things to change, even if in a fair way? It’s like they know something is wrong, but that wrong gives them the upperhand, so they are defending it at all costs.

I, and most of us, are not saying Sea an Acx players should get unencouraged for playing. We are saying the current meta is not fair for all parts because servers with:

a. Leadership.
b. Unity.
c. Better fighting skills.
d. Better strategies.
e. Can prove the above everyday with their world score.
f. Who just lack people in other continents.

Are losing against, well, servers who frankly PvE at night because:

a. They have people in other continents.

That’s not what WvW is about.

I understand there is a minority of the servers who war 24/7, and those are the only ones having a fair play right now.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind losing. But the fact is that what a server does in 2, 3 and even 4 days shouldn’t be undone in a night. Simple, concise.

1 am server time does affect USA people too. Have you forgotten those that live in Hawaii. That would only be 10 p.m. for them. I guess you mean full points only matter for the continental USA.

Yeah, you are right. The only pausible way is what Dayra recommends:

Full points for full maps.

Half points for half full maps.

No points for totally empty maps.

Or if you like to express it differently:

1 available (the side that’s want it still has to win it) point of score per player in the match everytime and where ever she comes from.

That would be much better than the current system where the Hawaiian gets 20 pts to conquer and the one from Chicago only 0.7.

We’ve been through this a dozen times.

The tick needs to scale with the overall current player activity. The more players are active in WvW, the faster the score ticks, the less players are active, the slower it ticks.

That’s fair for everyone involved and makes victories feel more meaningful when achieved against serious opposition.

8-12 PM might give you the most epic battles and most awesome WvW, but is relatively meaningless for the overall outcome of the matchup. That’s not ok. It’s not ok when 80% of the WvW activity only contributes 20% of the score.

All of my this.

But oh well, I guess my server will still be the best at heart. We will win everyday and wake up losing with every sunrise. We won’t win the weekly matchs, we won’t have a tittle to show off we are unbeaten on the battlefield either. But those are the ways of the Guild Wars.

Server time does decide what it prime time. Everything exceeding 1am is not prime time for those who SHOULD play on that server.

So basically everyone not living in the US are playing outside of prime-time?
Wouldn’t that go pretty much against what prime-time actually is?

I personally live in Latin America, so I’m 4 hours ahead of my server’s time.

Now, let’s say anet implements a curfew, so that after 1am the objectives tick for half the amount. I’d be ok with that.

And take note that 1am is still an active hour for WvW in my server. But I would understand it as a balance meature.

Depending on server zone [NA or EU], after given times [1:00am or so], all structures tick for half the points.

That way people who can’t sleep or just happen to be in daytime when the vast majority is in nightime can still play, and have an impact on the score, but it can’t be the same impact as daytimers because it just isn’t the same effort.

It makes no sense for the majority to run around killing each other during the day, just so that some come later and conquer everthing with Walk toggled on.

So basically just because people don’t live at the same place you do, they should be punished?

The game is international, thus everyone should have the same right and ability to play.

They get the same right to play as others, but their impact would be FAIR in comparasation with their EFFORT.

Again your saying your awake time is more important than someone else’s.

I don’t think that’s really the complaint. I think the complaint is that 5 people’s awake time shouldn’t be worth as much as 100 people’s awake time or that 5 people’s time doing PvDoor against undefended targets shouldn’t be worth 60 people’s time prying towers and keeps from a similarly sized opposing force. No, it’s not you fault that the enemy has nobody on, but maybe it would be good for everyone to encourage SEA/Oceanic players to distribute so they fight each other instead of NPCs guarding doors.

The problem isn’t the amount of people, it’s the difference. You can have 200 WvWers and it won’t matter as much if the enemy has 250. You could have 5 and it doesn’t matter if they have 15. The problem is your server has no sea/OCX coverage, not that the other server does. You don’t see OCX/SEA players complaining about strong NA prime times.

No ship Sherlock. It’s like Baseball team complaining because when they play nobody is there to catch the ball. “Is not our fault kitten .”

You are not getting punished, you can play whenever you want, but the concept is good the prime time should reward more than the offpeak hours, which are easier and therefore should reward less

But again, this is not a competitive mode and there should be no season nor graduatory.

You get punished. You don’t contribute as much as others simply due to the fact that you happen to be living in a place with a different time-zone (or simply work during the days).

And who are you to decide that your time is prime-time?
What is prime time for you might not be prime-time for other players.

Server time does decide what it prime time. Everything exceeding 1am is not prime time for those who SHOULD play on that server.

I see many people want their character to be the Hero of Tyria, and have statues on the behalf even when they know the players next to them are also Commanders of the Pact.

I also see many people who are more into story details that would rather be someone of help but not THE commander. To be a compannion of help to Destiny’s Orphans and yet not to be a MEMBER of it.

How could we get this resolved?

I’d like to echo Colin’s sentiments. Thanks to the OP and everyone else for posting your constructive feedback here. We’re always evaluating our past work and looking for ways to improve our future releases. Sometimes those improvements may come in the form of developing new technology to support our vision or improve the player experience. Other times it means evolving our writing and game design processes. In other cases, resource and scheduling changes are necessary to support the additional workload. The potential solutions will vary depending on the challenge in front of us.

Part of the development process is prioritization, so I’d like to know what you feel are the highest impact items you think would improve our storytelling delivery. What are your top three requests?

1- The story inside the video game.

2- Solutions and conclusions regarding The Pact and the Personal Story and their impact on the Living Story and the open world.

3- This one is up to disccussion because player’s feelings are crossed, but:
The interaction of the player with NPCs in the different situations. Should we get more or less involment? Should we all be The Great Commander of The Pact or should we be useful heroes who hold no name but witness it all?

IMHO.

Also, thanks for the reply.

So, to unlock my Phalanx armor (which I already bought to my Guardian) on my Warrior, I’ll have to buy either X Transmutation Crystals or Y Transmutation Stones?
Which will probably equate to around, I don’t know, 20 Crystals which is 1000 gems?

Afaik on April 15 after the patch, phalanx armor will be unlocked on your account. To put the armor on your warrior, it will cost 6 charges, likely the cost of 6 crystals.

No. You have it unlocked. You just will need to use the stones EVERYTIME you want to apply the skins to another armor. Just like its always been.

It’s easy man:

Pay for UNLOCKING a skin. Not for using it.

That way you have fewer skins you can use whenever you want.

Right now you have ALL the skins but can use them only by paying money everytime you want to actually use it. So basiccaly, you got nothing.

having in mind that people have like a million transmutation gems stacked in their bank, it would never pay off, unless you put such a steep price that nobody could use their own skin.

New items in BLTP:

Skin Unlocker: Apply this to a soul or account bound item to unlock its skin. *
*You can also unlock skins in your Hero Panel for 10 Transmutation Stones or 3 Transmutation Crystals.

I’m glad they’ve decided to add a semi-wardrobe to the game. It’s not a real wardrobe since you still need transmutation items. Ideally, once you unlock a gear piece, you’d be able to apply that anyway you like, on whoever you like, whenever you like – infinitely. Still, for a game whose appearance system has thus far been in the Dark Ages compared with most other MMOs, this is at least a little something.

It still doesn’t seem to solve the ridiculous limiting of the town clothes system unless I’ve missed something, we still can’t switch up town clothes looks to armor and back again.

And what source of revenue would you add to the game in order to make up for the revenue lost without transmutation?

It’s easy man:

Pay for UNLOCKING a skin. Not for using it.

That way you have fewer skins, the ones you really want and you can use whenever you want.

Right now you have ALL the skins but can use them only by paying money everytime. So basically, you got nothing.

I’d rather pay money to unlock my Gas Mask helm skin so that I switch to it everytime I run into a swampy area than having it “unlocked” and having to pay everytime I run into the same area.

Think about it.

It doesn’t seem like it solves what I was hoping it would solved, to avoid having to carry around 3 sets of chest, leg and feet armors – and wanting to carry around more.

Well, that’s not entirely true. Yes, I would not have to do that any more if I wanted to change my look whenever I wanted to, on the fly.

However, they key phrase in all my requests was – ‘like a dye’. In that, I was happy if they made me use stones and crystals (which you have to buy) to ‘unlock’ skins. I wanted to be able to use them freely, like a dye, without charge, whenever I wanted to, after I had unlocked the skin.

Those screenshots elude to not being able to change your look on the fly without restriction once you know a skin.

So I’ll have to carry around those 3 sets still, it would seem. And be limited to how many other looks I want based on bag space.

I’m also concerned about the line regarding town clothes about “items no longer available being converted to an endless tonic”. Like the halo? Every time I want to wear my old gathering shorts, I have to click a tonic item in my inventory? How will that work?

Gotta agree with this fine gentleman. I’m happy for the system, it makes a HUGE difference, but having to spend Transmutation Stones EVERYTIME you want to change appareance? Wow, not cool.

Guess the feature thread!

Critical! – This one is pretty obvious.

A new way to explore – Camera changes are unlikely. More like a much requested wardrobe.

A colourful Outlook – I think they once stated weapon dye was impossible ATM because of engine restricctions. Very unlikely. But I don’t think they would introduce account bound dyes when they already have a section for Account Bound stuff. Mhmm…

Looking For Groups?: Has to do with the LFG tool, but I can’t imagine this to be groundshaking.

Removing restrictions – This one I’m pretty excited about. Could be a lot of stuff. Maybe stat selection on Ascended. But I won’t ride the Hype Train again. DO YOU HEAR ME?!

A Solid Foundation – Server side improvements.

Facilitating Friendly – iExpect.

I’m hoping to get something like this with the upcoming feature patch.
If we don’t get it, then Devs should really take a look on this.

Mm, I can’t answer all of these, but what I think is…

a) In the escape, Canach was in the cell at LA until shortly before the miasma timeout. Ellen escorts him and the sheriff out in the airship as she escapes with Magnus. I’ve heard, but not verified, that he is still in a cell but at Vigil Keep now. I was hoping he’d be the Snake Pliskin for the event, but that turned out to be Magnus.

My suspicion is that he’ll be relevant during Season 2, if he’s planned to be relevant at all. Sylvari in general might be important considering Mordey, but he, Caithe, and Faolain are the most recognizable Sylvari to be important. Plus he has the nature/poison training that might be relevant for dealing with the next dragon if those end up being its specialties. Eco-terrorist turned eco-hero?

b) Mai was freed to run the Aetherblades in Eye of the Mist. Arguably this helped further lock down Asura Gate/Mist Warrior support from the other cities/races. She’s still there and her dialogue updated to reflect that she’d still continue the raids there even without Scarlet.

c2) I have my suspicions. It’s kind of a longshot, but:
She might have known something about Mordy's nap or Sylvari origins that she hasn't shared with others because status quo. Scarlet would've known about that too, so it's a big and surprising common ground they could have. I'm hoping she's important in Season 2.

e) I actually would’ve liked a tougher solo fight too. I know she was injured pretty badly, though, so I cut it some slack. Would’ve been a lot more epic if Kasmeer and you had a more uphill battle so you could hear all those cool quotes/taunting they worked in. My first time I broke her shield without even realizing how.

f) Braham was kinda being in character to be honest. He’s very simple and straightforward; big pictures and planning don’t seem like his thing. That fight boiled down to “we won, you lost, why you tried doesn’t matter because you failed and this is over.” Except it wasn’t.

g) I would’ve liked to see the marionette involved in the attack, but she was really testing the laser weapons she used, not the mecha who supported it. She certainly did use that to wreck LA.

h) I think I actually missed this. Curious how it was implied, though!

k) I don’t think Southsun linked up any more than Mad King Thorn did, but I might be wrong. It was an unrelated, interesting event that expanded the world outside of Scarlet’s machinations. I might be wrong.

That’s all the stuff I can answer for sure. I think the Thaumanova fractal was just an early investigation Scarlet made into leylines along with the Inquest. So it laid the foundation for how she knew to look for their leylines to begin with.

a. Seems like I missed this particular event. I never even heard of Canach during the Escape.
b. " Arguably this helped further lock down Asura Gate/Mist Warrior support from the other cities/races. " Where was this implied? Also, seems like I’m missing out, because I don’t even know where Mai is right now.
f. Haha, I know, it was funny/rage-worthy. But yeah…he being in character doesn’t aliviates the problem of the lack of explanation.

As for point C and K, we all have theories, some more intrincated than others. But it was time for those theories to be proven right or wrong. We can’t live on theories alone (or at least shouldn’t). I think Anet has to address these questions and it seems like they keep avoiding them and giving them a long shot…

I’m not mad, I’m just:

a. What happened to Canach? Where was he during the attack?
b. What was the deal with Mai Trin? Did she even do something?
c. Why was a Dragon near the Eternal Alchemy?
c. What’s Caithe’s secret?
d. Why did Scarlet ONLY wanted to TAP on the leylines?
e. Why wasn’t the final personal battle a little bit harder? Like, a stronger forceshield.
f. Why is Braham such a troll? (He WAS my favorite character.)
g. What was the marionette test for? She tested us, then did nothing.
h. It was implied that Kasmeer got poisoned in the Tower, yet it was never brought back.
i. Who was building and controlling the Watchknights? Her supply wasn’t infinite and it was stated that they were controlled machines, not robots.
j. Why was Scarlet in the Thaumanova and how is she vinculated to the Fractals?
k. How does Southsun links in with all of this?
m. Where were the the now reunited Destiny’s Edge?

To my understanding all of these question had to be answered by now. And yet, they all remain the same. So yeah, I’m kind of, you know, feeling bad.

CDI- Fractal Evolution

in CDI

Posted by: MakubeC.3026

MakubeC.3026

I haven’t played Gw1, but as a member of the Priory, I would love some of that.
Anyways, here’s my two cents:

Proposal Overview

Add existing features as mechanics for fractals. This could be a part of the fractal or an entire one.

Goal of Proposal
Gw2 has many features already that are fun and very versatile. It would be nice to explore all the potencial of those mechanics 1st before trying to add some more. And it would be easier, quicker and more polished.

Proposal Functionality
Existing mechanics that work:

1. Escape like Fractal. There’s a timer/bomb/pack of angry Dolyaks chasing the party. The goal is to leg it until a certain location is reached in order to escape. We have seen this in the Sanctum Sprint.

2. Survive like fractal. Doesn’t have to be too big, maybe a room or a couple rooms. Waves of monsters rush in a the party has to either complete the waves or survive a certain amount of time. Doesn’t need to be waves of monsters either, could be something fun like the rolling Karkas on the Karka Minigame.

3. Flying on top of something fractal. We have also seen this before in Arah. The envirorment was cool and could be well used as a complementation of idea 2, where you would need to protect said airship or maybe a flying Flint.

4. Grab-what-you-can-to-survive like fractal. Dispuse us of our weapons. Instead, give us a plank, a knife, a portal gun, a reflector shield, a glue/venom riffle and a tie. You just got a game going.

5. Low gravity. Jumping extra high, like when you have that Sanctum buff.

All of these could be short fractals that can use code reusing and still bring forward some complex/strategic gameplay, expand the current fractal’s pool and be FUN.

Associated Risks
a. Some might not like a certain fractal, though that is a lingering risk to everything in this game.
b. Reusing the code might not be as simple as it sounds.
c. These would mainly work as short fractals or sections of new, large, ones.
d. My ideas are simple, they would need more to be added. I just wanted to make a point of reusing what we got.

Could we please at least get a red post saying IF anything is going to be done or if my farmed heirlooms are just wasted on a potentially fantastic item with horrible clipping/sizing/position issues?

I have a day and a half to make a decision on which potion to get and so far, neither of them look good on my asura main.

Tomorrow’s Monday. They are going to see this.
Now whether or not they’re going to reply, I cannot foresee my friend :P.

Selfless/Thoughtless Potion Bugs and Concerns

I sincerely like the effort to introduce the selfless and thoughtless potions as new form of flare, but the mechanics have areas that need improvement.

The unearned Evon Gnashblade and Ellen Kiel badges are persistent when transforming, zoning, and allowed in dungeons/spvp/ fractals; yet, the earned Selfless or Thoughtless Potion effect are not. The effect is either denied, or removed during the normal course of gameplay. For example, during a world boss trains, the effect will be taken off after porting to different regions.

Furthermore, the offset of the effect is at equal height with the character nameplate, effectively covering up the appeal all together. Although the halo is already too translucent to be noticeable even at close proximity, the fact that it is also covered by the nameplate makes it virtually unnoticeable.

Summary restriction and limitation:

  • Restricted in dungeons.
  • Restricted in fractals.
  • Restricted in sPvP.
  • Effect removed upon zoning
  • Effect blocked by nameplate (selfless potion halo)
  • Effect too translucent to be noticed (selfless potion halo)
  • (new) Effect is not applied to Mesmer clones. [»]
  • (new) Effect is too low and too small on Asura. [»] [»]
  • (new) Effect removed upon transformation (e.g., tonic, mist form, elite).

(The election badges suffer from none of the above.)

I hope the restriction and limitation points listed above are simply an oversight that will be addressed, as they conflict with the very nature of the item function; a new form of shiny flair to enhance character presentation.

Thoughts?

Yesod

Please also add to your list that it lasts longer. 24hrs if anything, or that you could double click it to enable/disable it. One hour is just too much hustle really. It’s one of the things that ends up stored on your bank till you have to destroy it to make up space for other things and it shouldn’t be like that.

Also, as a software engineer myself, I trully enjoy when Anet gives us information and explinations on why somethings are or not possible or viable. Like the cooldown on pets and elementals cause of the stress they were putting on the servers.

If the fix on the halo is not possible or viable I think many people would like to have an answer so that those of us who care, can better understand the engine on which we spend hours playing every week and can better dicern what can and can’t be done on future releases.

Just my thought.

Hello there.
Let me start by saying I really like the way the iconics are right now.
Braham and Rox are my favorites NPCs in this game.

My question is the following:
Hearts are big part of the Gw2 universe. I’ve been following this game ever since the Elementalist was released and I know you have stated many times that you want to make things a little bit different and drive away from traditional things by innovation.

But have you considered using traditional Quests or Hearts as storytelling tools for getting the players to know and get used to some characters? An example may be the deceased Captain Ashford, captain Kiel, etc.

What brings you down about gw2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

MakubeC.3026

1. Personal story is not engaging at all. Is so boring that in fact I haven’t finished it
2. Is very annoying that I was promised a living world that my choices have impact and instead I got events that reset every hour and they no more different than traditional quests

If you have played this game long enough, then you’ll now this happened once.
The name was “The Lost Shore” and it was a once and once only event. Karkas attacked L.A and brought chaos into it, to extend of even destroying the light house which can still be seen that way.

The problem with this approach is the problem we have with every approach in this game: Way, way too much QQing.

The moment some people were busy and couldn’t play out the event, madness went rampant. Just because they missed it. Even when it was announced weeks before. (Aside from some several technical problems which I deduce Anet have resolved ever since.)

So yeah. You want real events? Then don’t come crying here when you get homework and can’t play them.

Also have in mind that this is a MMO, so you can only make so many decisitions to affect the world.

On a different note, what I hate is not room-based minigames.

Role diversification.

I bought Gw2 under the premise that I could make a customized hero. That if I wanted to make a venom thief, I would have traits and skills to help me with that build. That if I wanted a tanky thief, I would get one. Now, that’s not the case. Not because it is impossible, but because we are lacking on the skills and traits departments.

So yeah, role diversification please.

We know that from a few months back the dev team has been working on a “Raid systems gw2 style”. They literally said that, but they didn’t confirm anything, so this might be it.

As for the LS, we’ve been taking big steps in this year, which has been, much like Scarlet, about experimenting. So expect a much smoother year for the LS this year.

I’m not too sure about new maps. Though I have learn:

“Expect nothing. It’ll be much greater if you get something.”

Something else new in DR: a bit west of the Dead End, there’s a carnival that wasn’t there a few months ago. I think there was a little menagerie, but now there’s a full fledged carnival. Maybe the next alliance involves carnies…

Are you totally positive of this mate?
Carnivals would take it to whole different level…

Didn’t see one, so here it is.

What do you think is coming?
One thing is for sure though, its gonna be big.

Here’s what is up:

1- Strange magical towers have shown up around the world. Probabably have to do with leylines. Could they be somehow knocking on Kralkatorrik’s door?
2- Astrange maps has been spot on the Vigil’s headquaters where branded are seem attacking Divinity’s Reach. (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/lwd/Vigil-s-new-defense-plans/first#post3424606).
3- Evon Ghashblade and Elen Kiel on LA talk about an attack to the city. Something is cooking.
4- Dessa, the fractals and Scarlet are being interwined. Scarlet had to do wih the Thaumanova disaster. Could she hold knowledge of the fractals? Is that how she kept her endless invasions going forth?
5- Kashmeer, Majory, Braham and Rox are at the Dead End in DR. Could that point LA and DR as the main attack points? Is it coincidence?
6- All of the alliances were Scarlet’s doing. The hybrid was her last attempt at doing “something” as the Molten Bosses were at its time. What is Scarlet’s goal with all these experiments?

I’ll add more data as we get it.
/Tinfoil hats on.
